[Q] Google Wallet on Rooted Razr M - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to install Google Wallet on a rooted Razr M? Going thru Play Store won't allow it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Also looking for an answer ... would love to use this, hate that I can't.
I blame ISIS and Verizon/ATT/TMobile.

Stay tuned until this Monday the 29th, on the google wallet site it says that the next version of Google Wallet is coming soon, and you can request an invite. On Monday Google has a big press event. I clicked the link and it ask me which device do I have android, ios, or other so just maybe they are extending it to non nexus devices. Check it out http://google.com/wallet

REvisit this!!
Hey found this thread in a search for google wallet on my rooted RAZR M. This would be an incredibly handy feature anyone had any luck or thoughts on this?

[BOUNTY] Google Wallet on rooted Verizon RAZR MAXX HD non dev

I switched to verizon from sprint and my gs3. Sprint's service sucked, but the GS3 was awesome... I like the battery life of the maxx hd, however. One thing I cannot stand is Verizon's (probably) illegal blocking of apps like Google Wallet. On Sprint, I used Google Wallet frequently. That brings me to the point of this post:
I am starting a bounty for the first person that is able to provide instructions/code/apk/something that allows me to install Google Wallet on my rooted Verizon RAZR MAXX HD non developer edition phone running the verizon JB leak and successfully complete an NFC transaction. The transaction test will be done at a business that works perfectly with sprint phones, in order to keep it fair.
Bounty: $20. I know it isn't a lot, but I am hoping others will chip in as well. My portion of the bounty will be paid via paypal.
I've tried sideloading the apk, installing it as a system app, installing a modified apk, trying market enabler, etc, etc. I am willing to follow your instructions but please have it working for yourself before you send me something if you want to collect the bounty.
have you tried flashing the modified Google wallet apk from here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769083
It worked on my s3 when my carrier didn't support gw.
I don't actually have an hd yet, picking one up black Friday, once I have one I'll be working on this.

Yea, that was one of the first things I tried... I had high hopes for that method too.
I've also tried the method from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810282 which didn't work for me.
I'll put up another $20 in the bounty.

I am willing to put 50 to get Wallet working on my RAZR HD without having to mess with my bootloader. 100 if its fairly easy to install. A.k.a. noob proof.

You need to realize there will never be an easy way to get Google Wallet on your phone. Part of the setup process even with hacked apks is on Google's servers that check the phone model. Only way around this is to edit your build prop which requires root. Its not easy and will never be unless Google wants it to be. Just fyi

Maybe things have changed, but when my carriers s3 wasn't supported, I just changed the phone model in build prop, installed the apk in system, rebooted, set up Google wallet, then reverted to my original build prop and everything was good to go.
Once it was registered the phone model didn't matter.
Or maybe not, Maybe they've updated their security protocol since then.

Google Wallet?

Hi, I'm new to the LG brand of phones, but I've had just about ever other brand. I wanted to know if LG phones have been able to use Google Wallet, and if someone can test Google Wallet on a VZW G2. I'm thinking about picking it up as my upgrade soon, but also was considering the GS4 since I know I can get wallet to function on that easily. Obviously I know information on this at this point is going to be scarce, but I hope someone can shed some light on this for me!

I tried to load google wallet yesterday with no success. ISIS wallet installed fine but would not work with my older SIM w/o NFC security element
So it would not install for you ?

I understand this. Its the same story for all other VZW phones. Except the GS4 can use it just fine so long as you have root and the MoDaCo Toolkit. Granted the GS4 has a secure element which Google Wallet requires. My main question is I guess.... does the G2 have an onboard secure element? ISIS require a secure element Sim card to use. Google Wallet only looks for an internal one.
Now that we have root for all variants of the G2, can someone test this out? The directions from this thread should help out a bit. Although this is all assuming that the G2's firmware has the required Libs as well.
I would appreciate it very much if someone could test this!
How about At&T version of G2 ? Anybody tryed yet?
Google wallet says not compatible on at&t, and Isis will not run if u are rooted...

The G2 is designed for ISIS and not supported by Google Wallet in the US.
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk 2
Google needs to end the block. It's eliminating competition by blocking Google wallet.
ISIS can actually run on rooted roms now. Search it up. People have been running it on the Droid DNA for a bit now. Google isn't the one who is blocking Wallet by choice. Verizon, AT&T, & T-mobile are all on the ISIS bandwagon, and do not allow Google Wallet to run on their network officially . Normally you should be able to use any legal software on your carrier according to the FCC, but Verizon is actually getting around this by not including secure elements in phones but instead moving the secure element to the SIM card which Google Wallet does not check at the moment.
Since I don't have a G2 yet, I can't test the things I would like to. The thread I linked to previously here should give some instructions on how to install Google Wallet from the Play Store and see if it functions. Like i said we may need some lib files though from a Sprint variant. Usually Sprint is the only carrier to support Google Wallet on their devices. Ultimately the VZW G2 may not have an on-board secure element, and we may just be stuck using ISIS unless Google codes Wallet to look for an external SIM SE.

Nope, Google wallet would not install and ISIS would not activate since my SIM did not have the NFC security element.
I tried closed framework and every module I could find, but couldn't get Google wallet to install, nor Isis to get past the root block. any ideas?

Try this module with xposed framework. It's worked for me in the past to get Wallet installed from the market on my Droid DNA. You need to edit your build.prop though to match a supported device like the Nexus 4/Galaxy Nexus. MoDaCo Toolkit module has a nice build.prop edit section you can use.
Once you get it installed, don't change the build.prop back until you go through the wallet setup (if it even launches)
From what I'm reading from you guys here, it seems that even installing wallet is a challenge! I always thought that was the easy part lol. The hard part is dealing with if it actually functions or not :/

Nah the Google wallet installer will not run on unsupported devices (a la the build.prop changes) with or without the module. Same deal on most other phones that aren't explicitly a nexus. Do you have a list of what I need to change the build.prop to to allow install? I'll give it another try. But I bet the "secure element" being in the Sim will put the kabosh on all of this anyways. ****ing Verizon.. man.

Google is releasing the Wallet app to all devices 4.2 and up. Not sure what this means for evryone, but it is a hopeful sign.

ok, I did the build.prop changes, and am running that module. No go still. "Application not installed"
Where does the APK go after an install and what permissions? I'm going to try to sideload.

I can see the wallet app but it 'isnt compatible with my device' from the store.
I did, however, order an NFC Secure Element SIM and got it today, and set up my ISIS... but it only accepts American Express and Chase (not VISA) so I can't test it out.
It does work though (loads at least).

OK, apparently GWallet updated today and it just hasn't rolled out to all devices. If you get the compatibility issue it just hasn't rolled out to you.

The new APK does install and work, aside from Tap to Pay. Says "Not available". So we still need some new method of getting out Secure Element Sims supported. if that's possible. My SE sim should be here on thursday. I'll do some digging.

Google Wallet - NFC Compatibility Update?

Hello, I was wondering if there are any updates in regards to activating Google Wallet's NFC capabilities in the LG G2.
For a phone that has been released for a while it's a little surprising that there are little to no updates for this feature.
Any updates or news would be much appreciated.

Youd think for a company that works with google theyd have it by now but unfortunatly there is no news on it :/ google wallet isnt that big yet anyhow pretty much everybody and their mothers dont know what it is when i explain it to them, i dont think enough people use it to be updated on every device keep an eye out tho! but for now no luck
currently, i think the only way is to root your phone and flash a rom. an aosp rom allows google wallet to work. the stock rom does not.

Fair enough. However since the Sprint version of the G2 supports Google Wallet and the Sprint system dump has been uploaded isn't it possible to make it so Tap and Pay can work on other variants?
according to kitkat leaks, the new version of google wallet will not require a secure element. so it could possibly run on any phone

[Q] Any working Google Wallet with Tap to Pay?

Is anyone aware of VZW Note 3 solution that allow Google Wallet's tap and pay to work? Searched high and low and came up empty.
Do not want to go the Isis.

as of now, no. Ive' tried the workarounds given in the Galaxy S4 forums to no avail
Does isis work? I tried searching for it in the play store but couldn't find it.
ISIS does work, and the 2.0 update has made the app a lot more usable. If you pair it with an AMEX Serve card, and set the Serve card up so that it's funded directly from another credit card, it can work almost as well as Google Wallet. Plus, the Jamba Juice million smoothie promo is worth the price of entry by itself. If the app's not showing up on the Play Store, this thread has it (you can ignore the Xposed stuff if you're not rooted, but it's also a nice guide on how to get ISIS working if you are rooted): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482708
However, I second the OP's question, as I would much prefer to use Google Wallet over ISIS. As I understand it, there's a snag in fixing the NFC Libs, and this thread details the current state of the attempts to get tap-to-pay working on the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2476093
Hopefully we'll see some progress soon. Meanwhile, ISIS isn't a...terrible alternative, in its current iteration. It's just not as good as Wallet by any stretch of the imagination.
I don't believe there is anyway to get it to work right now because of a secure element in the sim, but from what I understand if/when we get 4.4 it should be good to go.

[Q] Google wallet in Australia, How?

Hey guys.
Ive got a S5 and I am wanting to get contact-less payments working on it. Being from Australia Google Wallet naturally does not work and there are only 2 banks that have recently starting doing their own HCE.
So whats the best way to get Google Wallet (or other type of host card emulation) to work over here?
Thanks heaps everyone!

I believe Westpac and CBA have their "own" payment system, however, Google Wallet will not work here. I did read some obscure article about 8-12 weeks ago that Google are planning on introducing it here. But that's all I've heard.

There are threads about Google wallet fixes e.g. to make it work in Canada and some custom ROMs incorporate patched Google wallets as well. You can do a forum search for details.
