[Q] Can I install a firmware through SD Card?

Hi,for some reasons I can't get Odin to work properly.I have B5510JPKJ4 firmware and I want to install it into my samsung Galaxy Y Pro gt-b5510.
Is there any solution to convert this firmaware into .zip or something else to make it installable through SD Card?
The firmware got these 3 files:
DefaultCalDataWithBoot_B5510JXKJ1_REV03.tar.md5
FOTA_AP_B5510JPKJ4.tgz
FOTA_CSC_B5510OJPKJ1.tgz
Or can I simply add .tgz files into SD Card and install them through recovery mode?

One more question, Is this update deletes all the files (including SD card)? Also,do I need to make a backup using apps like Titanium backup?.

no it cant delete the sd file
your data in phone- like apps,contact
all will erase
but nothing with sd card

there is an error during installation,it tells me cannot open package.zip!
any solution plz? Does it require enough space in SD card because I have only 40MB of free space!

Did you used stock recovery or cwm you have to use cwm

I have rom manager then I press reboot phone in cwm but it keeps running in stock recovery!

use cmw recovery and first clear your data
atleat your device having 120 mb free space or more......

cwm
use attachment
flash it in stock recovery

Save CWM by skin1980 in the root of sdcard(/sdcard)
Save the DDLE1 backup u got here nd save it in sdcard.. the backup will be saved in a folder which has a path similar to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/2012-03-09.17.40.45/
Then Restart into stock recovery
Install the zip(Skin1980 zip)
CWM will open up(Yellow fonts)..
Select backup&restore>restore
If u hv saved in correct location as I stated.. U'll get that in the list..
Select it.. pick yes restore...
It'll take hardly 5-10mins
Enjoy!!

Followed these steps but it tells me "MD5 Mismatch!"

Ok installed the rom and everything is working fine (widgets,status bar,apps etc...) except my keyboard!! It is a firmware for samsung s5360 not a firmware for my Galaxy Y Pro b5510!
is there a specific rom for this phone?

if you can get into recovery mode you can either
1. restore a nandroid backup
2. format system data cache - mount system data cache - flash a custom rom zip
if you cant get into recovery mode then go into download mode and flash stock rom via odin (requires a pc)

What are you trying to install
Can you manually mount data in CWM?
Did you format data in CWM and then try to mount it?
Are you using the correct cwm?
Is it formatted in the correct file system for your kernel? Rfs/ext

Hey guys I have wiped system partition in my ZTE Blade, (ZTE idea blade - India)
I cant go in to the recovery mode
it stops at boot animation because it cant find system partition.
can anyone tell me what to do with this case?

AFAIK there's a software made for windows, but it's intended only to upgrade from GEN1 to GEN2 and/or repartition internal memory, not to install roms.
Have you tried to boot your phone with volume down button held? It should enter a recovery (even if no OS is installed on /system).
If it still doesn't boot, you can follow this guide:

Fastboot and TPT method are the safer methods, but with the second you will lose all data/apps stored on the internal memory of your phone

[Q] Why i cant Find Cusrom Zip on ROM manager

im a newbie here.. i have some question please help me with this thing...
this day i finally decided to use this " ►►[AOSP] 4.3 - S4 Google Edition - v6 - Feel the Experience of Nexus◄◄ " on my Samsung galaxy s4..
the question is...
i already do his step explanation Flashing:
1. Disabled your Sim-Pin
2. Boot to your recovery
3. Wipe data and cache
4. Install the zip
until the 4th step.. its failed.. theres some kind of red notification in the instalation. " E: signature ... failed " if im not wrong... and i tryied to use ROM manager to instal it...
and why i cant find any zip on it..?
how to flashing my s4 if theres a problem like this?
please help me with some intsruction.. i am really a newbie here... i hope u guys can lend me a help ^_^.. thanks before for reading this and replying to help me

What file did you try to flash if you can't find the rom you (hopefully) downloaded? Do you know witch recovery you are using?

i guess i was using ROM manager apk if im not wrong mention it...theres instal ROM from SD card option... when i put the Zip on it wipe and clean.. theres a option to reboot on sistem recovery...
is like Android system recovery (3e) theres no option for installing or anything
-reboot system now
=apply update from ADB
-aply update from exxternal storage
-wipe cehck partition
-aply update from cache...
i guess thats all... am i entering wrong recovery mode?sorry for if im too noob at this

I think Before you can flash a rom with rom manager, you will need a custom recovery.
there are a couple to chose from :
TWRP
CWM
CWM Philz Touch
The creator from the google rom rom wich you want to flash gave no specific one, so you can pick one and all three should work. i'm using philz touch at the moment.
The custom recovery must be flashed from pc with odin, if you never used odin before, you need to install usb drivers / or 'kies' first.
If you never used Odin, then make sure you read a little first on how to use it, it's simple but can give bootloops or worse if not used well.
Since you have to flash this recovery you might as well flash it from there? it's easier i think and has more options then rom manager.
turn off phone -> press volume up - menu button - power button at the same time wich will open custom recovery and from there follow the guidelines from the google edition v6 topic on how to flash it.
-> Inside the custom recovery there is an option for backup, i suggest if this is your first custom rom tryout, that you make a backup in that custom recovery before trying, like that you can't do much wrong while testing

This Guide will help you to root your device without pc.. and updating CWM recovery...
Simplest way to root your device.
Tools required/Keep these applications ready:-
Framaroot
MobileUncle tools
recovery.img
Download from attachments
Procedure:-
1)Rooting:-
Open Framaroot Application
in dropdown by default its 'install SuperSu'......if not select 'install superSu' in the dropdown...
Below Select Boromir... Done..REBOOT Your device...
After clicking boromir ..it should say "supersu binaries installed.." Check 1st Screenshot in attached thumbnail... if it dsnt try again..
and once the message comes reboot....
Congrats You have your rooted device now..!! one step away from enjoying Custom Roms..!!
2) Updating Recovery
Download the recovery.img file from the attachments below.
Place the recovery.img file in your sd card
Open MobileUncleTools Application
Grant superuser permission
Click on Recovery Update
it will show you recovery.img file you placed in sd card
Select that recovery(see the 2nd screenshot in attachment..shld look like as in ss)
click ok..
It will ask to reboot into recovery mode... click yes to verify the update..from their you can reboot system again..
3) Further if you want to install any custom ROM:
Place the ROM file that is zip file in sd cArd
Switch of the phone
Hold the power button + Volume up button together(hold vol button till the boot logo appears)
once into recovery..
Common/IMPORTANT steps for installing any ROM:-
wipe data
wipe cache
mounts and storage--> format system
Advanced--->Wipe dalvik Cache
select Install zip from sdcard --> install from External sd card...
Navigate to zip file.. install...Enjoy your ROM..
CAUTION/WARNINGS:
Once you root your device..you VOID YOUR WARRANTY ...am NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything
Always have BACKUP before installing any ROM....just in case any problem occurs while flashing rom
If You BRICK your phone during any of these process... AM NOT RESPONSIBLE..
FLASH at Your OWN RISK

Depends su.zip shld have rooting script too lol otherwise it will just install su apk...!! it shld wrk...... (Y)

Increase app stoarage-
You don't like app storage only 0.9gb? , just follow the steps below-
1.You must be rooted before doing this
2.Download the mprio partition app here
3.Install the app and open it, read the warning and press agree
4.Choose desired partition and then wipe /data in recovery

Guyz......u can only use the app if u have fota upgraded kitkat means u have downloaded the software over the Internet.....After u finish using the app u must factory reset ur phone. .....don't forget to factory reset after that it'll boot and ask u to format internal storage (it says external it's really dumb ) so when u do that u have the desired partition. ........For non fota rom just flash ebr 1 and ebr 2 into ur stock non fota rom.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/mic...d-extended-storage-mod-micromax-a120-t2805888 there u go....
