Ilooked into sprint and they are so much more . its freaking crazy.

Looked into Verizon?? I don't see how people keep saying it is more expensive...i pay the same exact amount with my family plan...only difference is the data cap...but i like the fact i can actually use lte right now...I'm not a power user, so it was worth it..maybe it's because Verizon gives me a discount as well

I meant Verizon and yes even with a 20 percent discount it is roughly 14$ more at the base options. Without a discount it comes to 100. Because they make you have that stupid share plan crap. With Sprint it comes to 66 with everything data and no other options at its base.
That's not including any phone insurance or the fact I only get the discount through radioshack for Verizon.
Also tmobile has crapy service here. Service cuts out at the college and where I normally live. You practically have to live near the towers.

Data most definitely still sucks here, and if you're coming from VZW or AT&T considering how much their ETF is I dont see a lot of people jumping on that.
Restrictions states you have to buy the phones from Sprint...via store, online or telesales. That means you will need to wait for a mail in rebate -yuck.
One my co workers is moving to Sprint this week...I suggested she pass on this deal and get her 2 evo shifts from RS for 69.99 each.

Why? She can save $160 by buying it from RS or $250 from Sprint. Granted MIR's do suck but hey... that's $90 more in her pocket.
What u really should tell her is to buy the HTC Thunderbolt. Better 3g. And real 4g.

This isnt a MIR. Its a credit on your account.
GF and I got in on this deal a few weekends ago. You get $125/per line credit after 61 days AKA it shows up on your 3rd bill.

Cool. Im off of Dunwoody place, closer to Roswell Rd than Northridge/400. You?
It's still cheaper to just active a Sprint account through Amazon. They literally charge a cent for a phone. :O

Overcharged! Check your att bill.

My GT_N7000 is on att in the USA. Over the past month, I have purchased several apps in Play (formerly Market) and had them billed to my att account. Today, while looking over my most recent att bill, I noticed that I was billed 3 times for each of 3 apps purchased. Anyone who has purchased an app from Play knows that the purchase button disappears once you purchase, making a re-purchase impossible!
The overcharges correspond to a problem I had in Play around March 10-14 when Play was not downloading the purchased app properly. After a 5 minute wait to download, it would start and then I would get multiple purchase emails, all with the same order number.
Today, I called att and they credited my account with no argument. $24.80 credit!
I would strongly advise all att customers to review their bills carefully.
MODS: I didn't know where to place this thread. The Note connection is because I currently have a Note. I also remember several posts about Play not downloading properly around the same time as my problem.

What? If you had an app that cost $3 and you get charged three times for it that can add up, plus any other apps you bought that cycle. I mean, maybe you are just so rich and everything it doesn't matter to you, but if you are on a budget, it matters. Plus, the carriers need to get it right.

Took 2 minutes to review bill and id problem, and about 5 minutes on call with att. I saved about $25 for under 10 minutes. That's over $150 per hour. As a business owner, that savings over a year adds up. Last year I got nearly $700 refunded from overcharges found reviewing my att bills. Those savings bought my GT-N7000. I think that is significant and well worth the small time investment.

Agreed! Admittedly, most of that was refunded due to bundled DSL which ran slower than plan purchased. At&t will always give you back more to compensate for "your time" if you catch their errors.
Gonna bail from att when my plan is up in december.

ATT will nickel and dime you at every turn. Sometimes I think their system is just so crappy its not their fault. I check my bill every month and can say I've saved a couple $100 myself.

Verizon Eliminating Unlimited Data

Hooray Verizon is successfully alienating customers once again! Long story short Q3 or Q4 Verizon is looking to require grandfathered clients to switch to tiered data. Another article even mentions they may force mid-contract customers to do the same.
Already tired of kids yelling on forums about T-Mobile or Sprint here I come

Im a unlimited plan person...grand-fathered in -_- grrrrrrrrrrrr this may make me switch to some other carrier......
They've really gotta update their $30 data offering to 4GB across the board. Up until Google Music I didn't use 2GB, but not anymore. I'm looking at my plan and it looks like they no longer offer mobile-to-mobile (M2M) texting either. It's either 1000 or unlimited messages per month. SMS on the whole costs carriers almost nothing.
For those without corporate discounts, $80 is the cheapest data plan you can get. Is that really not enough Verizon?
I am also one of these 'grand-fathered' customers and if this goes through I will most likely be switching to Sprint when my contract ends. Sad. I hope Sprint picks up the new Galaxy S in time so I can at least stay on the phone I like, although that new HTC looks like it'd be a sweet alternative.
So which will happen first...Verizon offers the Samsung Galaxy S 3, or Verizon penalizes loyal customers for upgrading?
If it's the latter, I'm jumping ship...assuming there are any carriers left who offer unlimited data.

I was specifically referring to the One X being released around the same time as the Galaxy S3... I just meant if the S3 isn't available by the time my contract expires it'd be my 2nd choice. If I get a really good deal though I wouldn't be completely opposed to going with an S2, but we'll see I guess. Maybe we'll get lucky and Verizon will drop this whole thing due to negative reaction.
I use less than 2GB a month and often less than 1 GB but if they are eliminating unlimited data then there's no reason for me to stay on Verizon.
As someone who's only source of real internet at home is mobile or expensive, high latency satellite. And bring a gamer that uses 6gb per month. I well be keeping my unlimited line on 3g for as long as the 2 fascinates on my plan live. F#(k you Verizon! It's not that your struggling. It's that you need to make next quarter bigger than last quarter. And you've already dodged all the taxes you could so it's squeeze time on your customers.
I will do everything possible to keep my account a least profitable one.

Yes but if they switch and change your plan before the contract is up, it would give you grounds to dump them without an early termination fee.
Unfortunately Verizon is the only one that gets service where.I live... but since I can just use the Wifi at my house (and do), who cares.
I am not on Verizon but it have the 5g cap from us cellular when they changed it and I thought it would be a big deal, but I really font download as much as I thought. I download all my rooms at home anyway because it is much faster and doesn't use up the allotted amount. I am sorry, but getting 46 down with my home service does make it easier. I too was once on the dial up or satallite on internet category so I feel for you.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
It is breaking a contract and you can get out if you choose. It happens all the time, but they dont make it a big deal so people don't leave. If and when they do, they have to send you a notice with the option to opt out, legally they do.

5GB is decent. Verizon charges $50/month I think for that tier. No thanks! I mentioned text service is virtually free for providers to support. 3G & LTE are polar opposites to SMS. I do not wholly blame people who tether an ass ton without a tethering plan, but they certainly did not help.
Regardless Verizon has never really stopped being greedy I guess you could say
$50 for 5g plan does seem a but steep, but most companies are switching to a tiered plan at this point. I am paying 130/month for two phones with the 5gig plan, unlimited texts, and something like 1200 minutes. And I get a new phone every 10 months(new to me...slow us cellular).
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I can only afford 2 gigs a months and it isn't enough. I try and watch my data but I always go over and have to pay an extra $10.
I have a friend with a GS2 she said she would give to me(has a nearly in noticeable crack)and my mom wants a smart phone anyway. Might just give her my fassy and go to sprint.

I also left Sprint to go to T-Mobile and picked up the GSIII. I completely agree, their data speeds are beyond pathetic. Trying to use "3G" is on par with my dial up modem from the 90's and 4G is spotty at best
I had been with T-Mobile for 8 years and left 2 years ago to go to Sprint. At the time, T-Mobiles 3G was still in its relative infancy and Sprint had just started rolling out Wimax 4G. Oh, how the tables quickly turn; Sprint has given up on Wimax and are now selling LTE phones with no freakin' LTE network live yet. T-Mobile on the other hand has vastly improved upon their network speeds.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/T-Mo...ter-than-Verizons-4G-LTE-in-11-cities_id31387
Haters scoff at T-Mobile calling HSPA+ "4G" but I think the results speak for themselves. The final nail in the coffin, along with the above article, was seeing my wife's 2 year old MyTouch consistently get quadruple the speeds of my Sprint device.
It's good to be back...

The rumors is that T-mobile will pay the early termination fees (ETF) on your current contract phone from other carriers and break your current contract with them. It depends if you are in a contract and how much the ETF is.
I'm thinking this can be abused, since what if you sign up for a different carrier, get a discounted phone, then after a month, switch to t-mobile and not worry about the penalty (ETF).

The only people really that would probably consider this are people from sites like this that can't unlock their boot loaders. Which is a very very small handful of people overall. Most people know nothing of development and stuff that we all are into.
Why would Joe schmoe care to do this? Unless they really hate their current carrier. They're gonna still be locked into a contract with T-Mobile.

I know I plan on switching from Verizon to T-Mobile. Up in Boston T-Mobile has a very strong LTE signal and I would be saving about $40-$50 a month on my bill. I have a single line with Verizon. Plus I have a Moto X that's AT&T unlocked, but I also have a Verizon one that should be unlocked as well. Now just figuring out which T-Mobile plan is for me!
This would mostly help with family plans. 4 phones unlimited talk, text, and internet. 500mb of it high speed, $100. Would save me a bunch.

For now, this deal is just a rumor, though, so any speculation is premature.

How does this work? They tell you to switch from T-Mobile and get $200 "Switchers Bill Credit" before your third bill from AT&T. Then they say trade in your phone for up to $250.
Ok, well I answered my second question by actually typing this out. I was gunna ask why not just get a crappy spare phone you have lying around and trade it in for $250. They use "up to $250" so that answers that. They'd just give you a dollar or something. On to the first question: Will they enforce that you have to be coming from T-Mobile? If so, will they just make you produce a recent T-Mo bill? What would happen if you just kept "switching to them" then producing the same bill as proof?
And as you pointed out, what would prevent someone from just switching between the two a bunch and getting a bunch of money? Actually, maybe that part about getting your Switcher Credit "on or before your third AT&T Wireless bill" is how they're going to prevent that. If you're not with them anymore, they won't send you that, basically making you stay with them for at least 3 months.

It's basically what T-Mobile did for business credits you have to port your number from said service provider and you don't get your credit til the 4th bill. The T-Mobile deal is only for family plans with 350$ or less in etf .

I read somewhere it has to be a 3+ line family plan too. I'm curious to see how this pans out as I have two lines (family plan) and was strongly considering going switching to TMO as with my wife's work discount it comes out to be cheaper than Verizon (with her discount) and T-Mobile seems rather good on having the phones we want nowadays.
http://www.tmonews.com/2013/12/what...ther-carriers-early-termination-fees-covered/
Not 100% yet but likely..
There's more to it. You have trade in your phones, port your numbers and buy new phones. Now you may qualify for zero down, but you still have to pay the taxes up front and possibly $10 for each SIM card.

I called T-Mobile and you have to trade in your phone and buy theirs. The trade in value is low and new phone price is high.

Therefore it makes more sense to pay your etf by yourself and bring your phone and join the no contract plan or prepaid. Saves more money if that's your goal.
