I was one of the people who pre-ordered my G1 through T-Mobile when they announced it nearly 2 years ago... August 14th I believe it was I was told by a rep the exact day that I would be available for my fully discounted upgrade. Does T-Mobile or anyone plan to have a brand new phone for us around that time? It only should seem right that someone would do something just for us!
In other words, when I am able to upgrade in August...whats the sickest droid phone I am gonna be able to get for t-mobile?
If they start sellin tha Nexus One at the store by August that will be the best Android phone on T Mobile.
The Mytouch Slide will be available June 2nd from T-Mobile.
The Nexus one if its in stores by then, HTC desire or Vision if they do make it on to the carrier (both are rumored). I don't know about the rules of this website sorry if I break them by telling you that www.tmonews.com is the best place for Tmobile news. Also the Samsung Galaxy S that has prolly the best screen on the market is coming to TMO. So TMO has go stuff coming its just they are slow and rather go after the mytouch crowd. Example mytouch fender, Behold 2, and mytouch slide. I'm in the same boat my contract is up in August.
Yeah my friend is gettin the mytouch slide and I told him its gonna be sick. I hope he let's me root it.
My girl has the behold II and hates it.
I think they gotta be plannin bringing something out. Otherwise they should fire the hmfic of deciding what and when phones get released.

Well, the Hero's first birthday or release anniversary is next Monday. How long have you had your Hero for, and when do you plan on keeping it until? I got my hero on launch day, rooted it in December, and plan on dumping it next month.
Got mine back in march and it's just been getting better and better with the outstanding dev support and dedicated community we have here. This had been my first Android phone, and what a wonderful introduction it's been!
I'm in no hurry to replace it, but of course some of the new handsets out there are damn tempting..

I've got mine since Oct. 8, 2009... from a Sprint store, I lucked out and was able to buy it two days before launch
I got mine in April when I came back to Sprint from AT&T. I dearly love my Hero, especially since I rooted, but those new phones are awful tempting. :-D

I got the Hero sometime when it started to get cold and dark here, ie October or November, and I didn't root the phone until early this year when I got tired of waiting for the official Sprint update (to 2.0? 2.1?).
That seems so long ago. The software updates from this community have been super but the phone is feeling old and underpowered. I get to upgrade in November.
I'd love to upgrade to one of the 4G android phones but wonder if I should wait a little longer until the next greatest phone is released.

This is the problem I'm facing. My one year upgrade is in April, but I'm unsure if I should upgrade or wait it out.

Got mine in January. Rooted about a month ago due to wanting some froyo. My upgrade is in January. Thinking about waiting for the new mobile processors to be out to upgrade.
Got mine on launch day, rooted for some froyo a few weeks ago. I'll probably wait to upgrade till a new model makes me go "oh wow!" which nothing on the radar has done yet.
I will not upgrade until sprint has dual core phones next year... if you buy the evo or the samgsung your making a mistake.

A lot of us are in the same boat. The companies like to keep us guessing so we can't plan too far ahead. I've Googled a bit and can't find anything definitive on new phones in the next few months.
Any clue when dual core phones might be released?
I can wait until January, but if it's gonna be say April, I might as well have an Evo 4G for as long as I can. My market has 4G now and the tether would be useful.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I don't like having outdated technology for too long, but I would wait it out if it wouldn't be too long. Some of the people at my Sprint store say that 4G comes around these parts (Jersey Shore) in December and something codenamed HTC Sabor, dual-core 1.5ghz is coming out in April. With the rate technology is advancing, doesn't seem to far fetched to me.
Got my hero last November and still love it to death. I don't plan on replacing it when my upgrade comes next month, I want to wait and see what's coming out next year first.
Running cm6 is my only saving grace really. If it wasn't for that rom I'd probably have dumped this for the evo by now.
My main use of the phone is email, rss, and tethering. As long as it continues to perform those well I should be able to hold out till the dual cores arrive. I hope heh.

I got mine back in May this year. Rooted it, (thanks regaw!) and tweaked it with NfiniteFX's roms. It is my introduction to Android phone, and I've been impressed since day one. I'm keeping mine at least till my upgrade.
I got my first Hero in May..it lasted a 1-1/2 weeks..traded it in on a TP2..one of the worst mistakes in cell phones I ever made.I went through 4 of them before finally getting a Hero back last August. Rooted it on 8-26-10. This month Sprint broke my contract I had..and will be moving to a Galaxy S Captivate next week.
I can say it has been quite a bit of fun with them for the short time I've had them rooted.Too bad for the person buying it,since I will revert it back to 1.5 via RUU before shipping it in..( All 4 of my families is already sold and mine needs to be made stock so sad..) Hopefully the Captivate gets as much love from the developers as the Hero has..I've heard Cyanogen is considering porting CM6 over sometime..and if we can get the new Gold theme the Impaler and others have been working so hard on over..I'll be very happy..
I am not too worried about how it will fair against what is coming out.,and what is speculation.It has a very strong and quite separate CPU & GPU with gobs of storage and ram available,and when FroYo is out for it this quarter..will really come alive then. Being able to oc it as we have for the Hero will be a 2 fold job for the developers..one for the kernel..and one for the GPU..
I see faster and smarter phones with better themes on the horizon for everyone..

I got mine six months ago. I'm going to keep modding it until it dies, or until the dual cores come out. Whichever comes first.

i got my hero on launch day from best buy on the 8th of oct last year and i just upgraded to the epic 4g on the 8th of oct yesterday after getting a good deal from sprint
I got mine on release day. Had to drive all over the city to find a store that still had one in stock. I questioned it at the time but after I got the phone there was no such worry. It has been a great phone and I will hang onto until I find something else that can live up to the expecations I know have.
I am intrigued at what Palm might roll out. I had the Pre for almost a month before this phone and if it was for some bad hardware I would still be a Web OS owner. Android is great but Web OS was pretty awesome. So I will wait to see what else comes.

WebOS was so nice. If only WebOS would come out on a phone that has good build quality... One can hope, eh? But like most of you guys, I'm just going to hang onto my Hero until it dies or something ridiculous comes out.
i got my phone in july of this year rooted it the second week of owning it and been happy with it first smart phone i have ever owned. not planning on dumping it any time soon

Just like official Froyo "coming soon" which is not quite needed anymore since Gingerbread has come out.
I think T-Mobile abandoned the slide...or at least that's the impression I'm getting which makes me feel cheated to be honest.

sadly i think ill be downgrading to the thunderbolt. i picked 1 up on the 6th so i could get unlimited data and unless sprint gets there network fixed by the 20th ill be returning my 3d and view and canceling my other 2 lines. i just cant deal with this 28k data network and there continued broken dates of when it will be resolved.
I'll be upgrading to whatever the cool new phone is hot in 22 months, LOL! Hopefully it will include teleportation and a built-in 3D printer.
keeping my evo 4g for the time being, sprint upgrade isnt due till almost a year from now for me, hopefully HTC will stop being douches by then , if not im jumping ship to another phone make, probably one of those galaxy phones all i know is this latest gingerbread release/fiasco has me really wary about htc now...i hate my evo 4g until i can remove this GB 2.3 pos from it
i will never own another Samsung..have had three and they all were POS's.
Hoping something comes out by Oct that is catches my eye.

Im moving to California in a couple weeks and am curious too see how sprints 4g does cause i dont have it here in New Mexico. If i dont like it i may end up switching to T-mobile. I am in love with the Sensation! But it all depends on speeds right now and network quality.

Forgoing the gimmicky 3D for the sexy curves of the Sensation. Just waiting for it to be permanently rooted... any day now.
More than likely waiting for the Nexus Prime if it's released on Sprint.

i have no idea, I was certain I was going to upgrade to the evo3d but I wasn't that impressed and got a xoom wifi tablet.
I will probably just keel the evolution until next year

I just upgraded to the Nexus s 4g. I love this thing, all my future Android phones will be Nexus phones. Just wish Sprint had 4g in San Diego and Twentynine Palms
Well, I would have put my vote toward the Galaxy S II. But when will it ever come Sate side is anyone's guess. Technology moves fast and every day I wait for the GSII is a day closer that something better will come out.
At this point I want to wait for the Nexus 3(Prime). I like the rumored specs, ice cream, and the fact that it will be a developer phone.

I love my EVO, but I remember when it was the best phone out there, and I miss that. So many great phones now, and I cant help but want the best of the best. Technology moves so fast. I feel pressured, especially by HTC. They release a new phone everyday. I'm due for an upgrade soon and I'm getting the Epic 4G Touch, and just wanna thank all the devs that made my phone 10 times better than it is. It's been a great ride.
+1 ... but maybe you should wait just a little bit longer for some new phone announcements or cross your fingers for Sprint to get Nexus Galaxy

I'm in the same boat, love my EVO but it's showing its age. The SGSII looks great, but doesn't seem to have a lot of development yet.
Sure hope we get the Galaxy Nexus or a new HTC phone.

I'ld wait till spring for announcements on the first lte phone for sprint. Would not want to be stick on a phone with a dying 4g for two years. my upgrade if at the beginning of summer so just in time for a good phone I hope.

Sprint is switching next year. The first lte phone won't show up until round july 2012.
My hope is that Sprint will end up carrying, let's say the Nexus Galaxy, with LTE ready and only operate on 3G in the meantime.

Doubt that will happen though...they want to milk you for money!
