I recently updated my I9000 to [jRO03C]_OFICIAL_ANDROID_4.1.1_B4_(JELLY BEAN)
Everything is going well so far but when I tried to conect my phone to Kies to import my contacts......surprize. Kies doesn't recognize my device. Not event that connect icon doesn't appear.
Anybody ???? Ideas ???

Unofficial ROMs (the ones not made by Samsung) usually don't support Kies.
Are your contacts synchronized with your Google account too?

Unfortunately no
I guess my last option will be to make a restore to previous version that I had and load contact in kies and then load them in google .
cant you export your contats from kies? you can upload them to gmail then. And then its synced with your phone as well.
Why would anybody not sync their contats?

That is the name of a rom (port of the official nexus rom)...

You can export your contracts to a. Scf format. Connect your phone and deploy it anywhere. Start "people" app and Press menu button, choose import and look for the Scf file.
Your contacts should be restored now

Or you should try to use a Gmail account and have all the contacts automatically synced to it. You will never lose them again.

I'm having this exact same issue. My only complete contact list is lying in a Kies backup of my phone when I had the official Gingerbread version installed. I really don't want to revert just to access it again.
Did you find a suitable work around for this?

installed Hi Suite and synchronised my contacts from outlook 2007 to my smartphone. Everything worked fine (except 1 of the 318 contacts failed), but I cannot find my contacts on my smartphone. Any ideas?

Go to contacts - press menu - then go to display settings (my phone is in German, soI don't know how excactly) there you press on your mail account and check all the boxes.

Hi there...
I have some serious issue here...
Since i use Huawei Tablet Mediapad(before that i use Ideos and have same issues)... I can't connect it to my Laptop using this Hi Suite....
I don't know why this happen...since i do everything to make it connect like check the usb debugging and enabled the mtp initiator.. but it still says can't connected...
any of u fella know why this happen? i use Win XP SP 3 and my Mediapad use ROM B016 not Rooted yet...
Since Hi Suite that Ideos and Mediapad use is same at version.. i think it wouldn't be problem that i ask here isn't it? since there is have a thread bout Hi Suite..

After installation i observed the foll changes:
1. Hindi keyboard available
2. One hand operation mode available
3. 5 rows intead of 4 in keyboard. New symbols also added.
4. New unlock screen
5. Torch widget added with 3 different light modes
Pls share of you notice any more new changes.

8. LA5 now supports multitasking between stock camera app and stock music
player. Earlier on KL3, music used to stop if you turned on the camera while listening to music.

1. Browser is better and polished.

3. Huge battery improvement.
4. Added Google messenger.
5. Added Google plus.
6. Lower right corner is much more responsive.

That's cool .... While I am on a custom ROM - Rocket 22 (the update won't show on my note), can you share the hindi keyboard apk and the torch widget apk ... It should be possible to pull these out through root explorer (unless you're not rooted!) ... Thanks in advance, Envy

Whats the Firmware version?
more changes i've noticed :
1.Stock music playes now has a nice feature which is 'AUTO OFF', its in the settings.
2.The stock music player (finally) sorts according to the track number in albums view.

Auto off was already there.
But sorting is new.

I think kies only recognises the versions updated by itself. Third party flashing does not get recognised and updated by Kies. (as far as i know)

Hi ... Have you flashed DDLA2 manually? .... or DDLA1, and trying to get updated to DDLA2 now via kies? ..... Since 'All ROMs sticky post' only has link for DDLA1, and not DDLA2 ... Is DDLA2 update also available as a flashable file? .... Links appreciated ..... Thanks, Envy

The update available on Kies is DDLA5 not LA2. i did upgrade using Kies. BTW i was on KL3.

Setting --> language and Keyboard -->check One hand Operation box
I'v got notice for similar update in Serbia,Eastern Europe.My device is rooted because I need firewall for certain apps...Could I unroot, update,then again root it without loosing apps..firewall and sim unlocker?
What is your suggestion?

Right Now over Kies/OTA available FW is DDLA5
actually it has baseband DDLA2, thats why it may have misunderstanding. ROM known as PDA (build number)
At presently available ROM for india is
PDA DDLA5
Baseband DDLA2
Kernel DDLA5 (likely, I have not updated kernel, so correct if wrong)
i installed the rom turko frmw twice to fix the problems but nothing happens .. still found
1- when i open messages and press delete the phone restarts !!
2- when i open samsung apps and press get at any app it gives me error "this account cannot be used in this country .use a different account to sign in (3013)"
3-opera cant read arabic .!!!
... by the way i used wave 2 shp app - my mobile wave 1 - cause when i used s8500 shp app i cant call when i press call nothing happens so i used s8530 shp file and it can call but with the problems above

Similar problem here. But after i restart it is ok. Again the phone hangs in the middle of games and restarts.. Any solutions?? Or are there any new firmwares with spoofing???

Why are you flooding ? If no answer it has a reason. I wasn't here.Because i broken my pc and i only visit forum with mobile.and about SMS problem it has for me too.Unknown number problem is in all CFW which SHP is enabled and about Samsung apps flash again and First sign in samsung account on social hub and after upgrade samsung apps

They don't on cm10 buddy you can try haxsync in the play store if memory serves correctly

Aokp is built kinda like cm10 but they are slightly different so not sure make a backup and try my friend best way to tell tbh

Back up your rom just in case the program goes bad so you can restore to a working cm10

I noticed the same issue on my CM10.1 It says it is syncing contacts but it does not show any even after saying sync complete. I would love some more information on this "issue."

YES THIS WORKED!
How I did it -
Download the zip file located in the comments Wipe data for both Facebook and Contacts (MAKE SURE TO EXPORT CONTACTS FIRST)... put on internal sd card and flash with CWM by Installing zip file. Then reboot phone and set up contacts profile... then go to facebook - sign in and it will ask to sync with all or sync with existing and it updates with pics and emails and all!

I don't really have Samsung devices are you running a custom rom? and have you tried basics deleting the app rebooting phone and reinstalling? and have you looked at the location settings in the facebook app it's self? and does your location settings work on anything else like twitter or google maps or anything else at all?
