It seems today Samsung is unleashing a wave of Android 4.0.3 for the rest of the world and T-mobile German N7000XXLRI.....I'm wondering how long will the UK Note will receive its 4.0.4......

Przekret, is it the same leaked ROM than the SamMobile Greece ROM ?
Because, the archive don't got the same name and the dates aren't the same too.

Installation & Root XXLRI
Imp note : before flashing this rom, backup your efs folder. Some users have found issue of sim lock. Though i have install (clean) and no any issue.
Tool for efs backup
- no popup video player available in this rom
Get it from here (better thn stock)
Impression : I feel kernel is more tuned, battery managment improved(still takes time for final impression), No lag particularly in contact. No heating at all.
I feel it is worth to update.

- Download Odin, open it
- select PDA tab and point to ROM file. Leave Re-partition, pit, CSC, Phone tab unticked (see Image below)
- Switch off device, Put in download mode (Vol down + Home + Power)
- completely close kies, Anti virus if running
- Connect device to PC
- ID com port shud turn yellow (not shown in image)
Now hit Start

No issue here.

could anyone tell if there are any notable changes from LRG?

Can the 15 Toggle systemUI be used to include any function(such as Data Network On/Off,Reboot etc)?
Can i use this on my 4.0.3 Rooted Indian ICS?

Newer?Better?

After flashing touch CWM.zip I flashed SpeedMod 3-9 (not SUPERSU-Busybox-Installer.zip) from the recovery and rebooted.
Now I have full root.
Edit
Warning:
Do not use Touch CWM.zip to flash anything else (like kernel cleaning scripts, custom roms etc), do not perform factory reset from it.

I REALLY like this one looks beautiful!
If I am not wrong the 14-5-12 link from vo-1 is an an update version and not the full version. I may be wrong but the link clearly states "update" at the beginning. Rom size is also point to that direction as full vo-1's versions are normally over 90MB. So probably you based your rom on the update version (to be flashed over previous one) and not the full. I may be wrong again, but I doubt it!

you know how you can make the rom deodexed?
there wasnt a need for a new thread
i ll post the rooting method here again if this is main thread now
Easiest way to install the ROM achieve root and CWM recovery:
(make sure your battery is over 50%)
Download the firmware
extract the files and rename the tar.md5 files to .tar (remove the .md5 part)
Download Philz rooted kernel
Download Mobile Odin
copy all the files to your phone
Install mobile odin
open it and let it check for missing files
if u are using the free version u will need to download the flash kernel from chainfire's thread
In Mobile Odin:
go to Open file browse to the folder you copied files in and select the CODE_I9100XXLSJ file
go to Open file again and browse to CSC file do the same for the modem file
Now go to Open file and select Philz kernel
Select wipe data and dalvic cache to avoid running in any errors
this way mobile odin will flash this kernel rather than the stock non rooted kernel
Flash the firmware
your phone will reboot into mobile odin's special recovery and will flash the firmware
the phone will reboot some times just done worry leave it on table
After the phone boots pat your self on the back for doing a good job and thank Samsung for finally providing a good stock firmware since the gingerbread days

yes you can 180 is the most ive seen for now
I'm still having problems with network lock. No software can unlock my phone while on JB. EFS Pro can restore unlocked version of my /efs but after a restart it all changes back (different md5sums of nv_data.bin files) - everything works fine on 4.0.4
I'm using PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSJ-OXX-3.1 kernel.
When on 4.0.4 EFSPro says that efs file type is "/EFS" but when on JB: "EXT4" and different permissions(-rwx------ on JB vs -rwxr-xr-x on 4.0.4)
adb remount doesn work.
Recovery backup of JB takes 16.5MB(boot.img and recovery.img take 8MB each), cache, data and system have .dup extension(funny thing is, I can still restore it and have fully working JB rom, wtf)
I tried to manually copy the nv_data.bin and changed its permissions and owner/group, still nothing. Any ideas what can be causing it?

Pay $2.5 and you will get rid of the lock FOREVER. You can use the app as many times you want (however there shouldnt be a need).
Use GalaxSim: fast, easy, cheap and hassle free
Are we have chances to get ripple effect working? Or maybeb it will be in final release?

Failed on my N8010.
Checked GT-N8013-KK-WiFi-Fix.zip and cannot understand how it worked. What's the function of the files which are put into /data?
And if this doesn't work on N8010, is there another way I can try?
This worked for me

Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53065121&postcount=77 (just ignore the Tip)
I tried in on a N8010 and this worked for me, but I think it's essentially the same. I assume the only difference is that the boot.img from the leaked ROM is inlcuded in the tar in this guide and not in a flashable zip as in the guide from the other thread.
Also did you check, if one of your files was corrupted. If so, just redownload and retry

The /data files some how fix the IP address issue.
Did you root your phone yet? it may have to be rooted to copy to your userdata partition
When you install the ROM did you have to set it up? If you did not then you did not install on a clean system and that may cause issues.

Yes I Wiped almost everything before installing the ROM.
And yes I had to set it up at the first boot after installation.
And yes I root my phone with SuperSU 1.99r3.
So those files fix the IP address issue.
Can they be used on N8010 too?
Anyway I'll try it again later.

did you install the leaked boot.img? I had to install it to get wifi going, it would not work with the Official KK boot.img
I do not know about 8010, sorry

I failed yesterday with installing both the leaked boot.img and GT-N8013-KK-WiFi-Fix.zip.
I'll try the whole installation again When I got my N8010 later today.
Thanks for your answers.
Just installed and it works great! Now I don't have to wait!

Please simplify post.
First, Thank you so much. In the words of the song Thrift Shop "This is freakin awsome!"
There is a lot of stuff going on in the OP. I haven't flashed in a while so I am rusty. This is what I am seeing:
Mega Link has all of the files that I need.
Install ROM using Odin (skip through settings and boot back to Download mode)
Use Odin to install Custom Recovery
Use recovery to install wifi fix, wifi only remove phone service and systemUI remove system icons
Finish.
What about the other files in zip? Do i need them? (N8013 pit), (CWM Touch), (Open Recovery)
Can I use Mobile Odin?
I just want to get it right before I flash this awesomeness.

I'm not very familiar with using odin. Which files are we putting into odin and where do I put them in? Also, is the PIT file required?

Hi fellow Australian Telstra S5 users.
About a week ago I finally got my hands on my Galaxy S5 G900I model.
This has been my 5th Samsung device (GT-I9000, GT-I9100, GT-I9305T, GT-P5100, and SM-G900I), and the first I've encountered the deadly KNOX security.
This is a small guide on how to install SuperSU, Busybox, Xposed Framework, and Wanam Xposed without tripping your KNOX counter.
STARTING OFF
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE KERNEL VERSION AND BUILD NUMBER MATCH YOUR PHONE.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE, DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK !!
First of all, download the G900IDVU1ANE1_Mods-djb77 file attached to this post, this contains all the files and resources you need.
The original files can be found in the G900IDVU1ANE1_Original zip file.
This Mods zip file contains the following:
ROOTING TOOLS: Towelroot - SuperSU - Busybox (Stericson)
APPS: AdAway - Phone INFO - Titanium Backup - Total Commander
XPOSED APPS: Xposed Installer - Wanam Xposed - XSecureStorage
OTHER FILES: Modded others.xml - Original Samsung Bootanimation - Wanam Xposed Presert
The modded others.xml file is the same as the original others.xml except for the following changes:
- Show proper SMS / MMS timestamp (when the item was sent, not recieved)
- Disable the Software Update Menu
- Enable Call Button in Contact List
PREPARING FOR ROOT
- Go to Settings -> General -> About Device -> Software Updates, uncheck Auto-update and Wi-Fi only.
- Go to Settings -> General -> Security, check Unknown Sources, and uncheck Verify apps.
- Go to Settings -> General -> Security -> Security Policy Updates, disable Automatic Updates.
- Copy downloaded files to your SD Card.
INSTALLING ROOT / BUSYBOX
- Install Towelroot and launch. Press the "Make it Ra1n" button and wait, the app will prompt you when its finished.
- Install SuperSU and launch. Install SU Binary via Nomral option, and don't disable KNOX.
- Restart Phone.
- Install Busybox and launch. Wait for Small Install to finish loading, then press the Install button. Restart Phone.
RESTORE SAMSUNG BOOTANIMATION (Optional)
This removes the Telstra branded bootaniatmion / shutdown with the stock Samsung bootanimation / shutdown
- Install Total Commander
- Launch Total Commander and delete the following files
/system/media/bootsamsung.qmg
/system/media/video/shutdown/shutdown.qmg
/system/media/audio/ui/PowerOn.ogg
- Copy the files from the Bootanimation folder over to these locations, with chmod 644 on the new files.
FIX MICROSD CARD WRITE PERMISSIONS (Optional)
- Install Total Commander (if you haven't already)
- Launch Total Commander and delete the following file
/system/etc/permissions/platform.xml
- Copy the files from the MicroSD folder over to that location, with chmod 644 on the new file.
ADD EXTRA CSC FEATURES (Optional)
- Install Total Commander (if you haven't already)
- Launch Total Commander and delete the following file
/system/csc/others.xml
- Copy the files from the CSC folder over to that location, with chmod 644 on the new file.
INSTALL XPOSED FRAMEWORK / WANAM XPOSED (Optional)
- Go to Settings -> Applications -> Application manager, uninstall any updates for S Health and HealthService.
- Install Xposed framework + apps, but don't open them just yet.
- Launch Xposed Framework installer with all modules ticked. Restart Phone.
- Copy Standard Settings.wx to .WanamXposed folder.
- Launch Wanam Xposed and load the Standard Settings. Restart Phone.
Hope this little guide helps some of you out

Just a shame we can't use Mobile ODIN, otherwise I'd look at deodexing the ROM and doing some further modifications.
I hear that it trips KNOX, and if that's the case I'm staying well clear of it.

yes i did, but it does not trip knox, and you can also flash zip files through mobile odin (OTA/Update option) but it requires some additional things for the zip to work perfectly. @_alexndr know about it, i flashed his rom that way.
but in my thread, i havent mentioned anything about Mobile Odin, only PC Odin

What additional things are you talking about? Is it something in the updater-script, does the zip need to be signed?
I just made a deodexed version of this ROM with ArchiKitchen so I'm keen to flash the deodexed system files and framework.

Yes, you can. Most of CWM flashable zip files should work. Unfortunatelly, some devs in their zip files do not care about compatibility with MOP and use mount points specific for CWM/TWRP. Here is an example of not working zip using Mobile Odin Pro (reported in my thread @ Polish forum):
[THEME] All Backs Black S5 ••●The Blackness Realm●••
Above zip file can't be succesfully flashed using MOP because it contains /sdcard mount point for internal emulated SD card (in updater-script AND in sh scripts). Unfortunatelly - such mount point does not exists in case of MOP... If the dev/themer would change the point on the other (/sdcard -> /data/media/0) then such zip file will be compatible with all custom recoveries AND with Mobile Odin Pro
BTW
Note that if you flash using MOP zip file containing custom recovery or custom kernel - then your KNOX will be tripped !!!
Click to collapse
OK that seems pretty straight forward to understand. Make sure the partition mounts are compatible with Mobile ODIN Pro (which my updater-scripts usually are) and don't flash kernel, recovery, or modem. Too easy
THEMES FOR WANAM XPOSED
To install these themes, extract the zip file and copy the .wx file to your .WanamXposed folder on your Internal SD Card.
This is what the standard quicksettings screen and device settings screen look like:
The first thing that is changed in all the themes is that terrible blue colour that is used for the backgrounds, as shown below.
Please note that not all apps are supported by this function, however it does work on a few (even 3rd party market apps)
BLACK AND BLUE
BLACK AND GREEN

Guide updated to v2, to include a fix for the MicroSD Card. I noticed the issue when trying to use Titanium Backup

ExtSD Fix
Download latest stable - MD5 checksumDownload latest dev - MD5 checksum
In KitKat, Lollipop and Marshmallow, policies on writing permissions for external SD cards have been changed. This flashable recovery file automatically appends the correct permissions to the file as explained in many tutorials on the web (here or here) or as what many apps do (here).
Advantages
The advantage of this flashable zip over the other methods is that:
you don't need to install any apps,
you can revert by reflashing (not tested for marshmallow),
it does not require you to have root (needs to be confirmed),
[*]you don't need a custom recovery (needs to be confirmed).
Installation
It can insert and remove the permission to write on the external sdcard. To install follow these steps:
Turn off phone,
Boot into recovery,
Backup your system and data partition,
Flash this zip file once,
Reboot phone normally.
To revert the changes, follow the same steps again. This means that flashing it twice will have no effect.
Marshmallow is not supported yet, implementation is in progress.
Note: On Marshmallow, busybox will be installed if not already present. It can also be installed as a standalone app. You should an also add init.d support to your phone if not already available using an app.
How to report a bug
Check if someone else reported that it did/didn't work,
Backup, clean flash, reinstall all apps and then flash ExtSD Fix,
Submit a bug report here with both the original and modified packages.xml and the recovery log file as suggested here.

It should be working. You can always go back by copying back the file in a rooted shell command with the system partition mounted:
Code:
cd /system/etc/permissions
cp platform.xml-201*.bak platform.xml
chmod 0644 platform.xml

Hey @rufus.wilson
Flashed v1.3b, but it didn't work. And then I I restored the file with this two commands. After that, almost all the apps crash (FC) when I want to start it and when I can open an app, it hasn't any internet connection.
Can I fix this or must I wipe /system and /data?
(cache and dalvik cache already wiped)
I have noew zero permission, I can't even take a screenshot :/
