Now this is real progress! Sleep tight! :highfive:

This looks awesome :-D just a question: I read that Google now is strongly related to jb kernel (3.1.10), that's why it will be quite impossible to port a full working g now on ics, so we will probably never have a full working g now (with voice search) on our 8.9, even after ics official release by Samsung, is it right? I hope I'm wrong

But...the screenshot clearly shows Jelly Bean in our tabs . Who wants ICS when its better version is around the corner for us? The devs here need official ICS for the drivers and other puzzle pieces. Once they get those missing pieces, then we can have a fully functional ICS and Jelly Bean ROMs...and by fully functional, I mean Google Now also as part of the equation. Right now in the Vibrant forum Google Now is working. Some kinks here and there but they're slowly getting there.

I mean jb porting will be based on ics kernel (now as you can see in the screen shot is still based on honeycomb kernel cause we don't have yet an official ics release), and in the g now ics porting thread they say that voice search doesn't work cause it's releated to jb kernel, so I thought that even on a jb porting voice search will not work for that reason, probably I'm wrong, anyway we are going off topic so it's better talking about that somewhere else, I will check vibrant jb porting though thank you

Wow ... Pershoot is top gun, so kalt_kaffe porting this over is a real deal! Anxiously look forward to this!
Sent from my GT-P7310 using xda premium

great to see a real port!

Nice, but as said JB needs a real JB kernel to work fully. It might boot and run with another kernel, but it wont be full JB.

Uploaded the build to mediafire, link in first post.

I haven't had much time to play around with it (I'm on vacation) but Wifi works. Not much is available in Google Play (common problem when new Android versions are released).
Software keyboard is a bit misaligned for some reason, but it can be used without too much problem.

now this is a dev i 100% trust in getting JB on our tab!
full steam ahead kallt!

GPS seems to work (seeing 3 sats right now, inside a building). Bluetooth turns on but doesn't see me Samsung BT keyboard dock so I suppose it is broken.

i read on cm 10 g tab 10.1 that they have same issue and they fix it switching off hw keyboard, but we don't have that setting on ours

Setting the DPI to between 170-180 almost fixes that, just trying to find the sweet spot now, 180 pushes the status bar to the top and loses the nav keys, 176 still leave about 1cm gap to the right

I noticed something - Android doesn't see the screen as a tablet. Files by Zenfield launches in Phone mode at start, AdAway does so too, without the side pane.
I think some build.prop hackery is needed here.

Forget what i told before, i was wrong (never be so glad to be), voice search in google now is working

Eureka !!
Setting the DPI to 168 fixes the keyboard

Download and flash this zip in recovery and then used this to set the dpi, I tried a couple of other apps but they made it bootloop for some reason

Working
Pretty Much everything!
Not working:
Cameras
Auto brightness seems to work sometimes, but not all the time.
Installation:
*** You maybe able to flash over previous builds, we haven't tested, if you have issues after, please try a wipe/re-flash ***
In CWM recovery, clear your data/factory reset
Clear the dalvik cache (under advanced, or under the wipe menu in overcome cwm)
Flash the provided zip using CWM recovery
Flash gapps from CWM recovery
Bootup and setup your Google account
OC if you want with included NoFrills CPU, and set to interactive governor! (tested with other OC apps like setcpu as well)
Give it a chance, this is a deodexed ROM and will boot slow the first time and when you use apps the first time.

Only half an hour after flashing, but basic functions (confirmed in the OP) work fine.
With 1.4Ghz OC, the UI is flying!!! Can't believe it's the same device.
Until now, my 8.9 was slower than my GN, but now, GN feels so slow!!!
Once 3G works, this is going to be my daily driver.
Thanks again to the dev team.
Cheers.
So far so good. Nice work! Impressive work for the time frame its been done in.
Will this work on at&t's galaxy 8.9? (LTE) dont care if the lte/3g dont work.
Been waiting patiently! Now time to play. Thanks so much for the hard work!!!

Because the at&t lte tab has complitely defferent hardware.
no changes?
Runs very smoothly, but so did alpha 1! Except for the boot animation (which I didn't like in a1), I actually see no big changes or is it just me? It still performs very well allround, don't get me wrong, but the orientation change bug is still there and auto brightness isn't functional either. Can the TS maybe change the OP to reflect the fixed issues compared to a1?
Thanks!

About Carbon Rom
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. I ported this rom from galaxy s2 i9100 using a very simple method. This ported carbon rom is based on Paul's pac 23.0 so all credit to Paul for his wonderful rom. At that time the only stable 4.2.2 rom for our devices is pac 23.0 since cm10.1 is still not in advance developement. However i pormise to update/ported again using the latest cm10.1 as based. Also thanks to all carbon developer for such an amazing rom.. :victory: HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THIS ROM

The ROM is pretty smooth. But there's no real difference with CM and PAC besides Carbon Settings ( which is pretty much the same as AOKP Settings in PAC )

BTW:
I see an option for CRT-ON effect, but it doesn't appear. Is this because it does not yet exist for our phone?
Great news!! Thanks man!!
is mic working ?? in apps like skype , wechat , viber , voice search ??
Maybe I'm the only who doesn't see any sence of these roms with the same bugs. IMHO it could be better to join the team of developers of CM and help them if you want. Now there's uncomfortable situation for users: we have many roms, the half of which is themed stock with same content and another half is CM clones with same bugs. Don't want to hurt anybody, but I also may say my opinion.

Not all CM based ROMS are the same they have the same bugs, but we have:
- CM10&10.1
- MIUI
- PAC 23.0 & Beta7
- Carbon
- PA
As CM based an each ROM has a different concept. It's true that Carbon and PAC share many things, but both is different.
For Stock we have
- Pure Vanilla
- JellyMod
- Windows Phone Project
- LightJB
- HarshJelly
With Vanilla and JM to be Google themed and LightJB and HarshJelly stock Sammy.
Windows Phone Project is also one entirely different concept.
Everyone is complaining about to many ROMs, but as I said, all are different!

It has flashed fine for me every time. Not sure what to tell you. Works just fine with cwm as well.
Edit:
I would suggest in TWRP when it fails to install, copy the log to sd and check out the recovery.log and see where it throws up the error on flash.
Is there a list of current bugs etc... or can I go off of the list for CM11 general. Items I am really interested in are;
Bluetooth for voice calls
Voice call and quality
GPS etc...
Thanks for the Kang... tempted to give it a go!

Should be able to go off their current list.
I will check out bluetooth when I get home tonight and report back.
Voice call and quality is fine.

Just uploaded a fresh build 12/19/2013
Enjoy!
Thanks for your hard work, flappjaxxx! Hopefully this CM11 will be maintained, not like that one from nebkat .

nebkat is actually pushing commits quite frequently. Once official comes out I am sure he will be our device maintainer. He is doing great work. Consider this just an unofficial preview. I'm not doing any hard work. All I did was throw together a quick local manifest and compile.

[ROM] [AOSP JellyBean] Project SleekyBean - First Release [Nightly 20140215] [DOWNLOAD IS WORKING]
Welcome to my second Rom!
This Rom is based off Maclaws AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2.2. The sole reason why I made this was because for speed and reliability purposes. We all know AOSP has the best all round stability. As it is still a young project, I am hoping to make it grow with your support.
Features:
- Stock, pure, Jelly Bean!
- Really fast for first release!
- Cool boot animation!
- Keyboard actually responds much better!
- Get the full Google Nexus experience!
Changelog:
[20140215] - First release! (Added Seeder and some performance adjustments)
1. Download my Rom
2. Go into your CWM 5.0.2.6 recovery
3. Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache!
4. Reboot (takes 3-5 mins on first boot)
5. And enjoy!
Disclamer: DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FAULTS/BRICKS/DAMAGE. I HAVE JUST WARNED YOU.

2-has your rom"cpu overclocking"?
3-has your rom"notificating setting",to add notification toggles.
I want pura android like Aosp roms, but this rom's options is very low however is stablest.
4-all roms that i have used had"linux version:2.6.x",but your rom's linux version is 3.1.x.what is diference between them?

Well, in Cyanogenmod roms, they have theme chooser (not aosp)
Since this Rom is AOSP (nexus like experience) you cannot change the toggles. You also can nearly move any app to sd.
You can overclock the cpu as much as you like (998mhz is the max)
Before you download, I can tell you that it runs much better than Cm10.1+

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
This Support of the CyanogenMod is Unofficial and the sources are up at http://github.com/androidarmv6

Excellent ROM! Very smooth! But camera still not working (Error : Can't connect to camera) . Fixed by flashing CM11 VideoRecordingPatch :victory: : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/orig-development/patch-video-recording-fix-cm11-t2813168
Wifi is slow on Ace running KitKat . Can this be fixed?

I think that this build is based on cm11 cooper release (R13) from androidarmv6, if I'm not wrong.
Yes, Mardon's CM11 is heavily modded (Changed many stuff), but this ROM is much more lightweight than Mardon's. As you can see from the change log, OP removed some of the junk stuff that I will certainly remove from every CM11 build I've flashed. OP even add some tweaks in build.prop
And so, this CM11 is running smoothly with Google Play Services installed, unlike other CM11 builds. Others even get stuck when there's an incoming call with no GAPPS installed.
Love this CM11 very much, except the WiFi intermittent problem, seems like every cooper's CM11 build have this prob.
Note : New update (20150917) released! Under Downloads section.

The touch focus is not a problem, but it was disabled in the repo by armv6 team
I tried "INT2EXT" on a fresh install, it is not working now.
Would be very useful, thanks.
Is your plan to integrate this in the rom (1. post)?

Hi, as I say in a Q&A cooper post, download link for the latest and the best cm11-*cooper*androidarmv6 rom is dead. I would like to switch to your Linaro rom, but I do not want to install Gapps.
armv6team provide gapps in a separate package. Is there a way for you to provide it in the same way ? I would like to install Linaro on my cooper, but I'm very very afraid about Gapps, so I cannot.
Thx for thinking about that.
