Working
Pretty Much everything!
Not working:
Cameras
Auto brightness seems to work sometimes, but not all the time.
Installation:
*** You maybe able to flash over previous builds, we haven't tested, if you have issues after, please try a wipe/re-flash ***
In CWM recovery, clear your data/factory reset
Clear the dalvik cache (under advanced, or under the wipe menu in overcome cwm)
Flash the provided zip using CWM recovery
Flash gapps from CWM recovery
Bootup and setup your Google account
OC if you want with included NoFrills CPU, and set to interactive governor! (tested with other OC apps like setcpu as well)
Give it a chance, this is a deodexed ROM and will boot slow the first time and when you use apps the first time.

first! waiting for this! thanks for all the hardwork!

So excited for this alpha! And you had to release just before I needed to get some rest. Oh well, I'll sleep better after flashing.

Can't wait to flash this! Thanks very much!
Looking forward to the HW decoder fix, so I can watch HD movies

This is great, downloading right now

Awesome, guys! Keep up the good work! I can't wait to give this a try once the camera is working.

Only half an hour after flashing, but basic functions (confirmed in the OP) work fine.
With 1.4Ghz OC, the UI is flying!!! Can't believe it's the same device.
Until now, my 8.9 was slower than my GN, but now, GN feels so slow!!!
Once 3G works, this is going to be my daily driver.
Thanks again to the dev team.
Cheers.

So far so good. Nice work! Impressive work for the time frame its been done in.

Will this work on at&t's galaxy 8.9? (LTE) dont care if the lte/3g dont work.

Been waiting patiently! Now time to play. Thanks so much for the hard work!!!

Curious as to why it won't work?

Because the at&t lte tab has complitely defferent hardware.

no changes?
Runs very smoothly, but so did alpha 1! Except for the boot animation (which I didn't like in a1), I actually see no big changes or is it just me? It still performs very well allround, don't get me wrong, but the orientation change bug is still there and auto brightness isn't functional either. Can the TS maybe change the OP to reflect the fixed issues compared to a1?
Thanks!

Hello everybody, -original post on modaco-
Koudelka worked hard to get an initial tree working for AOSP (based on Codeaurora's Froyo tree for qsd8250, big thanks to phh for suggesting), credits and kudos to him! I've been conversing with him in the IRC chatroom for a bit and have agreed to release this ROM, to maintain it, and to adapt the Liquid vendor/device tree to CyanogenMod, aiming for full hardware compatibility with Froyo and future Android versions. I am constantly updating the tree, and will provide nightly builds as soon as possible, the current builds being fully functional (WiFi, 3D, GPS, radio, camera -thanks to phh's RE of the libcamera-, camcorder -adaptation of Acer's libcamera-, geolocation, battery and missed call LED -thanks to cgatay for CM6 compatible patch-, haptic feedback, USB mount, accelerometer, and soon to be Proximity sensor)
Thanks to phhusson's hard and diligent work we also have a full functional Froyo kernel! (phhusson is a miracle worker, work on hardware is thanks to him!)
This is not AOSP Froyo, FRF91, nor AOSP Eclair, this is CyanogenMod 6.X.X compiled for the Liquid and LiquidE!
So here it is, CyanogenMod 6.X.X with the regular Xian ROM addons and mods, for you to install! It's is a Froyo based build, includes JIT, and supports Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 (installable from the Market).
Again, credits to koudelka for the base and phhusson for the Froyo kernel! And credits to Cyanogen for the Android source and improvements! -> official CyanogenMod changelog
These ROMs WIPE DATA as to prevent incompatabilites between revisions, so please Nandroid and backup your personal DATA with Titanium Backup before upgrading, or flashing the ROM.
Suggestions are welcome to improve the usability of this ROM! Please feedback! And please also say thank you to phhusson and koudelka! We'd appreciate a drink -> donate link.
Enjoy
You can follow my work and progress on CyanogenMod support for the Liquid/E on my github.

History :
Code:
Hello everybody,
Thanks to phhusson's hard and diligent work we not only have a working Froyo compatible kernel but also a working Liquid vendor tree made by koudelka (based on Codeaurora's Froyo tree for qsd8250, big thanks to phh for suggesting). As you all know he compiled AOSP for the liquid, and released on the forums as a test ROM. The ROM I'm releasing today is designed for everyday use, it has all hardware working, WiFi, GPS, Sensors, 3D, 3G, with the exception of camera, which is currently a work in progress (phhusson is a miracle worker, all work on hardware is thanks to him!).
[u]But[/u], this is not AOSP Froyo, FRF91, nor AOSP Eclair, this is CyanogenMod 6.0.0 compiled for the Liquid and LiquidE!
Koudelka has been working hard to get this working, credits and kudos to him! I've been conversing with him in IRC for a bit and have agreed to release this ROM, which he built and I cleaned up and tweaked for the average joe.
So here it is, CyanogenMod 6 with the regular Xian ROM addons and mods, for you to install! It's is a Froyo based build, includes JIT, and supports Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 (installable from the Market).
Again, credits to koudelka for the base and phhusson for the Froyo kernel! And credits to Cyanogen for the Android source and improvements! -> [url="http://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_vendor_cyanogen/blob/froyo/CHANGELOG.mkdn"]official CyanogenMod changelog [/url]
[u]These ROMs do not automatically WIPE apps but they [b]do WIPE your PERSONAL DATA[/b]. If you encounter problems please wipe data/cache and reflash the ROM. [b]Nandroid backup to be sure![/b][/u]
Suggestions are welcome to improve the usability of this ROM! Please feedback! And please say thank you to phhusson and koudelka! Who both deserve some beer.;)
Enjoy
This looks very nice but when I flash it through Malez Recovery I get stuck in a boot loop. I tried flashing both alternatives afterwards. Nothing helps.
I have an Acer liquid E with the 2.2 Froyo leaked .bin (0.007.00).
Any ideas?
why is the acer iron keep blinking after i flashed it and reboot? solution??
Same, I'm in a boot loop
I can't seem to get it to boot past a boot loop either, maybee if I have time later I'll logcat it.... for now, I has to run
screen stuttering
hey, been using the build for the day and every few minutes the top of the screen acts as though its being tapped on and the notification bar shoots down/things on screen get selected randomly. havent been able to figure out how to reproduce.
Try setting the sensitivity to a default 70/70.
That is happening to my LCR-installed Liquid E too with the highest sensitivity.
Just get it to 70/70

THINGS TO NOTE:
Gallery3D was removed in 4.5-Final because the ICS rotations added to the cm repos borked it.
Please download & install QuickPic after flash if you want to view pictures.
Do NOT flash gapps: it will remove Maps 5.2 and then you're on your own if the new Maps gives you problems.
Google Search icon is missing: just apply the "ice cream san" theme in the app drawer.

FIXES/CHANGELOG
v4.5-Final
This will be my final release for this phone. It's been fun!
Sync'd with cm repos and freshly compiled
REMOVED the 3Dgallery: the ICS rotations borked it, download and install QuickPic
added all the ring lock styles
added disable scrolling-cache
added custom carrier label
added ICS transitions
added improved scrolling cache [ported from ICS]
made the ICS theme default upon initial flash
updated vending to Google Play
too much to list everything, check the cm nightly changelog for full details...
v4.4 Fixes/Changes
Bumped to RC1
Chinese characters should be fixed
Cleaned up framework
Updated some apps
v4.3 Fixes/Changes
Bumped to CM7.2.0-RC0
Recompiled CFS Kernel: added tun.ko & cifs.ko modules (both confirmed working)
Fixed Minimal Lockscreen Style
Quicker screen off animation (reboot phone after initial setup)
Overall smaller footprint
v4.2 Fixes/Changes
No more LauncherPro: Until Fede updates LP, I am going with Go-launcher as stock. I'm sorry if this disappoints anyone.
Theme packages are on sdcard in "GSB-Extras" you must install them and then apply them both (1 is for the t-mobile ThemeChooser and 1 is for go-launcher)
Added Maps 5.2 to ROM: UPDATE AT YOUR OWN RISK, you could lose Maps function with newer updates.
Hard themed the lockscreen to look ICS-ish. NOTE: Phone slide lock has a white circle around it, I know, but I kind of like it
All theme credits besides the lockscreen jog dials (me) go to sonnysekhon & boykioy
Turned down max cpu to 604 - removed hardcoded mem values and turned off compcache & jit since it was causing some problems. You can always re-enable them.
Removed: CMwallpapers, CM themes & Rom Manager
Added Honeycomb lockscreen clock font & ICS Roboto font
v4.1 Fixes/Changes
out of RC phase
updated mainline to android 2.3.7
now set by default: compcache=18% Jit=On VM heap size=48m NOTE: you can turn these off in cyanogen mod settings if you experience slowdowns
rotation to landscape fixed: changed the libGLES_qcom in source to build working libGLES_android.so, thanks to CS for pointing it out in his fix.
yes, no ring lag script is still in there
v4.0 Fixes/Changes
Fixed built in CM screenshot (hold power key and select in menu)
Updated fingerprint to 2.3.5
Added the no_ring_lag script, thanks computerfreek and klobkelosh (EDIT: ODEX version doesn't have the no_ring_lag script, you can install it on your own and test if you'd like.)
Still have home screen redraws after reboot, that so called "fix" isn't working, just use Zeps V6 script - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276

Nice work shed. First to release cm7 for the eris. Also the first major update in like 3 weeks. Stoked. Going to dl now. Too bad my battery is at about 17% right now.
Good the Eris phone hasn't been forgotten. I was hoping that this phone didn't get lost in the mix of new phones coming out.
Fun, fun a great thing to see after the super bowl.
Sent from my FroShedYo using XDA App
Hey thanks all, I could've released this earlier, but I wanted to try and get as much fixed as possible before releasing. But the camera is going to take a while to get working so I figured alot of you would appreciate this the way it is currently, which is pretty damn stable to be honest and plus Conap kept laughing at me for not releasing it... I couldn't take his peer pressure! lol
Don't forget to checkout Themechooser in the app drawer.
I'm out for the night, my eyes are bugging out lol, I'll check back tomorrow morning... happy flashing!
Awesome.

I knew you were working on something big, but this!? Will I ever have to upgrade my hardware? I'll do what I can month after month because I know how it feels to have a family while unemployed. I don't think I could've done what you are doing while in that position. props to you.
Thanks, 'shed!
im really excited for this, and for tazz's, but if one of us when we upgrade was to donate an eris to cyanogen, would we ever see official cyanogen? i remember reading on the cyanogenmod website that if you donate a phone theyll start working on it. i'd say its worth a shot, anyone have an eris and an upgrade they want to use?
Great work Shed! Really snappy. The apps prob w/Verizon apps is there. Otherwise, great work!

[REF] ICS ROMs Benchmarked [UPDATED 17072012]

What?
First of all I want to thanks Bedalus for helping me out with the proper calculation of all the written down values
I got from these benchmarks. Thanks a thousand time.
Well, I just saw a couple of days ago a proper kernel benchmark testing about what kernel on x ROM is working the
slightest, fastest and most stable. I knew there was no benchmark for ICS ROMs on the i9000 so I thought it would be
a nice thing to try, especially for myself, to get evidence that there is/was no need to swap ROMs. Although it’s a
personal taste.
Please, if you want to troll me (or the document), go ahead, it just doesn’t bother me at all, I know
that benchmarking is very dependable on the things you could do in the whole process to benchmark.
I haven’t done a thing to influence this whole benchmark.
Where?

Testing Methodology?
All the ROMs, that have been benchmarked, have been flashed with Glitch on top. Glitch is for me personally
one of the best kernels, keeps being stable and has a great performance!!
So hereby my step- by step way on how to achieve this:
With every ROM I fully formatted: /boot /data /system /cache + FR
Flashed the ROM, after the kernel, GApps and wiped cache and fix permissions
Let the device boot once and ignored the whole ‘welcome wizard’
Enabled WiFi
Installed through the browser the OI Filemanager and NSTools
Installed through OI the following benchmarking-apps (saved .APK’s): Antutu, Linpack and Vellamo
Applied the governor, schedule and OC* in NSTools
Rebooted
Waited for about 100 seconds
Ran Antutu first, after that Linpack and Vellamo (3x times in a row)
Reported all my results in the sheet
For this benchmark I used my knowledge about my phone and the hardware it has got.
On every ROM test I applied the following things:
Governor -> SmartassV2 (just the best to get for my testing results)
Schedule -> deadline (I find this the most valueable for this benchmarking)
OC -> 1400 MHz (I might go any higher but it’s not FC’ing on this frequency)
Secondly I’ve got an extra i9000 here; I will use that phone next week too, to get an extra test for having this all
‘clean’. Will try to update the list soon, and add more ICS ROMs, but here’s a start! Last but not least; I will NEVER
say that x ROM is the best or worst, just check it yourself.
Updates & plans
19032012 - everything done - except MyICS (got me in a continue bootloop even without Glitch)
01042012 - everything done - except Dark Knight (had problems on Glitch v6) and Elite (continue bootloop on Glitch / looking for a solution for this)
00042012 - change the SD card read/write benchmarking - look for another kernel (maybe) and find a solution to auto sort values from high to low
25042012 - everything done - except Elite and EXTRAordinary - looking forward to ICSSGS #5 and Glitch V7 - more ROMs to be added later to the list - fix negative %
17072012 - everything done - except ICS333, Elite and EXTRAordinary - no luck on having a stable Glitch V7 so I kept benchmarking ALL THE ROMs on Glitch V6 - more ROMs to be added later to the list - as a little present I added CyanogenMod 10 in the sheet too benchmarked without any custom kernel, OC and schedule/governor

Conclusion
Compared to the 3rd testing SlimICS is being the overall number one ROM, best performed.
Loads of new ICS ROMs did pop up and have been tested. The ROM I've expected most of
was surely a ROM that I would use for a long time (stable/fast) and you know it from the
previous testings and experiences; Team ICSSGS (Team Nyx called as well). No modded
ROMs have been used, with tweaks, except from the ICS F4k MOD ROM, that build has the
built-in Linaro code as from I understood, therefor it has far more better results in the sheet.

Hey Guys don't Forget to Thanks RATBORG

Can you do also it next time with "CF-Bench" ?
I own I9000 with Dark Knight v3 Devil Kernel
and get with CF-Bench that -->

Please advertise with Anonymous Ads
Thank you but could you please benchmark at stock 1 ghz and also a sort of benchmark for the best battery kernel + rom would be verrryyyyy helpful (as ICS has some serious battery issue for me), also I know its very difficult for a battery benchmark so I would also like to help if you could tell me what to do
But thanks a lot, great to see such threads
No problem guys! Will work on another benchmark (CF) and stock too!
It's kinda difficult because loads of ROMs were standard packed with
Devil or Semaphore for example, I'll try and look what possible is for
the ultimate benchmark.
Just decided to make 3 'large' benchmarks;
- on stock (where possible)
- on devil
- on glitch

Nice work Ratborg. Good on Bedalus to inspire you. May be you can sort the spread sheet average benchmark score wise in descending order?

That would be great, but for the sake of completeness you should also consider Semaphore. Lots of people (including me) find it faster than every other kernel.

I understand you, well for Gltich I knew it was working good on almost ALL the ROMs
benchmarked, I'm not socsure about semaphore.
And besides that; it performs bad, check this thread .
(but I'm totally open for any advise and suggestion)

He shure did a good job (and got a lot of knowledge). About the sorting, I need(ed) to that
by the hand, so I will do it asap. True, it has to be done.

Thanks OP! Awesome results: makes me happy that I chose to run ICSSGS. With IcyGlitch and ICSSGS the phone flies
I forgot to post CONGRATULATIONS!
A big help for your community.
Spread the word, there is no need for speculation when it comes to ROM performance. And users can always follow RATBORG's links directly to the threads, and check for features, themes, evidence of good support, etc...
Remember when you update to notify on the ROM's thread.
Good work!

None of those settings and customizations are present in original Nexus ROM. Look somewhere else if you want a full-featured custom ROM.

Try: Clear the data/cache of your Gallery app. Install the free app Semaphore Manager and in Tweaks tab, make sure Bigmem is not checked. Restart your phone, give it awhile to fully scan your SD card, and try your camera once again after that.
There two versions of semaphore, one is for regular Roms "c" and other for Roms with bigmem patch "sc". If I'm not mistaken this ROM has sc version but doesn't have bigmem patch. So you can either get the patch and flash it or switch to other kernel version.

Is the big mem patch also the reason I can't play any videos? Youtube and videos I've recorded won't play.

Well yes that was the problem. Videos play fine with a non-big mem kernel. Maybe next build can include the correct kernel or, better yet, the big mem libraries so the current kernel will work.
Otherwise this is an awesome rom. Thanks dev for putting this together.

Features:
Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc

Pratyush since you using 2 ROM's as well - I just had a question wonder if you can help me with that
I am on TDB as well - Using for now Miui5 & AOKP - Now issue is whenever I flash a new ROM on System1 i.e. where AOKP is at the present - Post that Miui doesn't boot - It would be stuck at MI Logo.
So again I need to flash Miui5 as well which is pretty irritating. If I am not doing anything to System2 then why after any install on System1 affects it - Any Clue Mate - Thanks in Advance :good::good:
My Antutu score in performance mode...way better than balance mode who scored only 26500 and also better than miui v6 which scored 35600...
Just a quick note on reboot issue...whenever I put in my pant pocket and take it after a longtime it reboots...other than that I didn't had reboot issue..
Great ROM...
Hey watchout.... happy to see u on mi3 thread
