hi DQiB. you should probably get in touch with cdesai as it seems he has spent some time on Jelly Bean already. See his post here (if you haven't already):

It looks like that your tip is working , they talk with each other.

I cant wait till you guys get this SWEAT COLORFUL CANDY (JB) working on our GREAT GT-P1000..!!! We truly appreciate your guys hard work on all the ROMS out thus far.. HATS OFF TO YOU ALL..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the fact that even though Samsung virtually abandoned the original tab, it still has a developer base keeping it alive. Otherwise I would have ended up selling it

one more reason to not abandon my tab
thankyou

[Q] Why (still) no ICS port for Galaxy Y?

The following devices having quite similar specs like Galaxy Y and they have a ICS port-
Galaxy Fit
Galaxy Mini/Pop
Galaxy Ace
Now there are custom kernels also available for the ease of porting. So are there any devs working on porting ICS to our Galaxy Y?

I have been tracking that too...but why no ICS port? can we take the already released ICS ports of these devices and make changes accordingly to run in Galaxy Y?
Because Galaxy Young is not a high end device that even Samsung won't bother porting ICS to it.
In the mean time, use Chobits Digitalis v1. 6. The best ROM for SGY to date.

how could I expect a cream OS like ics for an entry level device ....?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
It is possible.... but is going to take time... keep in mind how long this device has been on the market. ICS requires a minimum of basic kernel mods at the worst a complete kernel rewrite. Along with this we will have problems with Sensors camera radio classes etc etc etc. There is much more as well. Relax this will take time.

well, its been 3-5 month since this phone out to the market,
i have it and i love it soooo much..
just try another rom, its worth a try you know..
while we waiting for CM to our young..

GT-P1000 is officially supported for CM9, but has no CM7 support. Only unofficial builds. Not that I don't agree with everyone else! ICS for the Y is unlikely and would not run... decently.

Ussrv5 rocks and its true i use it right now, it would have been better if it was based on cm though, trust me, you dont know cm until you use one(referring to a bug free cm7 not our bugfull cm7), i tried one for a day, it was my friends galaxy s, i installed cm7 on it and i was determined to get cm7 to work on our y after using his phone with cm7 for a day

i would'nt get so jiggery over ICS since it is aimed at med to high-end phones,
its better to have a CM7 for our device trust me
Check whites post, hus cm9 is booting and no more force close apps, didnt have the chance to test it yet, am at school when i checked and saw his update

ICS PORT?? long way 2 go buddy... 1st of all we need those broadcomm drivers... then we will make some progress in cm7.2 and then many devs working on cyanogenmod will become free and since the drivers they have got, an ICS Port would be just a few weeks all thanks to our awesome devs!!!
so chill buddy and just press thanx down there....
I become bored by listening that. Now i hate ICS. I'm happy with my galaxy y without ics.
the custom roms, kernel and some tweaks is enough 4 me & my Y.

can we have cm10 video review ?

hello guys i m new to xda.i am looking forward to buy galaxy tab 2 p3100.after checking development thread i can see 4.1 jb is working great without major issues thx to all devs for that.so what i thought is if you people post your video reviews of cm10 running on ur tab it will help a lot for the peoples like me and for those who are waiting for official jb.thanks
just root and try for yourself..I was in similar situation..got brand new galaxy tab 2 10.1 last week..found stock ROM very sluggish..started researching etc..took jump and now rooted running CG JB 4.1..just make sure you nandroid backup your Rom before making any changes..soooooooo much better
will now be doing same my S3..the pros far out weight the cons of not rooting / worring about a warranty that you probably wouldn't use any way..think you can reset counter anyway
hope this helps

You will be impressed cm10 work beatifully in this tab more than you could expect all animations effects etc work as intended and smooth
The reason for this as they managed to solve the problem with hardware composer so butter project work beautifully
I think you will have no regrets as cm10 is implemented goooood in this tab
I'm using it now
