Explain to me why the T30 or the T33 is crappy.

Thanks for the hasty reply.
Curious as to how Tegra 3s are bad. Must be that "its not the latest and greatest so its crap bro" mentality that has plagued the gadget world as of late....

I think people don't like it because it's proprietary and not open..?

the T30 version will be fine. same one used in the prime I believe. the one in the 300 is the T30L. this nexus 7 will be able to be easily overclocked also once rooted. thats if it has higher clock speeds in stock kernel but disabled. like in prime when it got ICS. might even be able to use the same EzOverclock apk install like on Prime.
is this using ddr2 or ddr3 ram? infinity pad uses new ddr3 ram with larger bandwidth frequency. over a ghz. I believe. compared to prime ddr2 which was around 540MHz. 300 has ddr3 but only slightly faster than prime memory. its still around 560 MHz also. I guess this lil 7in. would be fine with ddr2.

That would be my guess. Every Tegra device has had issues with all the closed source drivers. Even the maker for Linux said flat out FU Nvidia

Google will make sure the drivers are updated with any major kernel changes. We'll be fine.

Anyone that knows put little stock in benchmarks. It has all to do with their closed sourced drivers. Even the man behind Linux said nvidia is the worst company Linux ever had to work with and stated and I quote. "FU Nvidia"

if so, that's the same one that's in the transformer 300 model. although not as powerful/high clocked as one in prime, it will be fine. its still a very powerful chip no matter which version it is. plus tegra3 has the best multimedia capabilities.

Hi demandarin, nice to see you in this forum too. Finally you will be able to root your own tablet. Lol
I've seen many benchmarks and the memory bandwidth on the t30l is much better and improved over the most common t30 tegra3. I hope they solve i/o issues with jelly bean

I'm guessing sometime in April but first we gotta get ice cream. lol
Has Jellybean even been confirmed as a name... Or I guess it could even be 4.1...

I think Jell-O is Copyright protected so I'm banking on Jellybean, 4.1 I would assume if no new devices are implemented (3.0 for Tablets, 4.0 for Tablet and Phone Integration). 5.0 if I'm rocking it in my Prius.
1st post was a joke by the way. Ha. Ha.

Jellybean will contain a native theme section in the market place. 10GB cloud per device that can hold any type of file. Eye scanner to unlock. Quad core 3.0 GHz. 2GB ram. Rolex inspired kinetic charging.

All done via software too. Because as everyone knows, every arm chip released in the past 12 years was a quad core 3ghz capable chip - but they were all soft locked down to 1 or 2... ;-)

They'll probably put some quirky things like "Shake to refresh GMail' and blah blah blah just to make the shaking that much more natural to do.
Then all of us Android Tab users can look like we're all suffering massive seizures out and about.
Person 1 "Are all those people part of a flash mob or do they just have epilepsy?"
Person 2 "No brah, Jellybean went live last night"
Person 1 "Oh....damn....."

Might be good news:
I found out through LogCat that the problem might lie within the PowerVR SGX540. Which is in fact the same GPU as the Galaxy Nexus, in which Rockstar states will fix soon. So yeah, it should work, just wait a bit for an update.

Same deal with the Droid Charge (which has the same CPU & GPU) even with Chainfire the display is still black. If it's really a GPU hardware issue we may be able to get it working after they update it.

No. The Desire S has the Adreno 205 GPU, the Tab's is PowerVR SGX540.
I can confirm, new version 1.1 is now working on our tab (p1000) It's not the smoothest of graphics, but we have it now!

Yeah I know that, I meant similar, as they are both single core, and this game was primarily designed for dual core.
Which GPU is better? I guess PowerVR is..
Adreno isn't the best at games.
How is it for everyone? Any major lags?
Lags a bit on my Desire s, will try on my Tab later!

V1.1 is "working" on SGT7.
I had to get it illegaly even if I own it on my Galaxy S II, I was unable to find it on the market from my SGT7.
I have test version 1.1 on My tab running ICS Alpha 3..and its work...^_^
Here the screenshot :
sweet!
Looks nice on ICS
Where do you get 1.1?
I got 1.0 via 4shared - I'm not unwilling, but hesitant rather, to spend $5 on an app that's currently known to be not working, and version unknown for the one on the market (if it appears for the Sprint 7 tab).
Very willing if it works, that's a cheap price for a big game. Anywhere to "try before I buy?" Usually that's an option with most games, sample or ad-supported version, etc.
thanks-
EDIT: Note I'm not running ICS, I'm not rooted, although that is in the cards at some not-far-future point. I just got this tab yesterday. Is your build a requirement? Looking to try this out on the stock Gingerbread - if it works, I'm glad to buy it for the cost of a Subway footlong.
It does work, many have confirmed it working. Just a bit laggy. So hopefully you can spare $5 to support development

Rest assured, the P6800 is dual core. What testing app are you using? Not all are optimized to run properly or detect multiple cores.
Try downloading systempanel app from the market. It will detect both cores.

Quadrant is a bit finicky on Exynos chips. It was always better optimized to run on Qualcomm chips. That's why reviewers always say that benchmarks right now are still a terrible indicator of a device's everyday performance.

Gsm arena doesn't mention that the tab 2 uses an OMAP 4430 based chipset while the original 10.1 uses a tegra 2. That makes a pretty big difference. Also, while the outer cameras are the same mega pixel that doesn't mean they are the same hardware.

No they are NOT the same:
Chipset TI OMAP 4430 / Nvidia Tegra 2 T20
CPU Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 / Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9
GPU PowerVR SGX540 / ULP GeForce
Different chipset, different GPU, different sensor chips for about everything.
stop saying it's the "same" because the clock is the same...
Lol, it's like force installing nvidia driver on intel hd 3000 gpu, it won't install at all...

N3 and v6

Tried researching and haven't found anything so if someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it but I'm wondering if v6 supercharger is really needed. I don't use my phone for gaming (love my 7.7) but with such a massive quad core processor and 3 gig of ram is it really needed?

Regardless, no.
well incase anyone was still interested I tested stock and underclocked both before and after v6 and found my answer. The images are stock, 1036 MHz underclocked, v6 stock, and v6 1036 MHz underclocked. This was all using cfq I/o scheduler and interactive governor. the 1036 MHz underclocked ranked just below the stock n3 according to antutu and above my stock test. I know everyone has their own opinions with benchmarking and what app is used but atleast this gives me my answer.
To be honest, I don't even know what v6 Supercharge is supposed to do, but this is what I get. My set up is in my sig
Edit: For clarification, I'm using cfq/interactive with stock kernel settings as well.
