Padphone - Eee Pad Transformer General

Has anyone tried it yet?
I heard that the keyboard from the original Transformer is compatible

I highly doubt the OG's keyboard is compatible, but I want one so bad. Fat chance of that though XDXD

I saw a video where the person in the video took the padfone tablet dock and put it in the original transformer dock and it worked just fine. Then she put the transformer in the padfone keyboard dock to show that it worked both ways.

Seems like forward thinking. They'll probably use different color schemes.

Loose back

Anyone else notice how loose the back of the tablet is? Almost thought it was removable and after foolishly fiddling with it it squeaks.
Also the serial number sticker sucks.
The rest of it, short of the crashing browsers, is fantastic though.

No loose back here nor squeaky sounds nor crashing browsers (never used the stock browser, I use Dolphin). Yes to the sticker, apparently the sticker isn't important for warranty purposes.

I noticed this as well on mine. Feels kind of loser in some areas, not all.

Strange, I use dolphin usually too. Tried stock and chrome too to no avail. Oh well I kind of feel these hiccups will be smoothed over with custom roms

Got to agree with this. I can see it getting peeled off in a short time. I covered mine with scotchtape to smoothen it out.

already lost the serial number sticker. The FCC sticker on the other side is doomed to the same fate I fear.
Need to protect that serial number sticker at least for the first 30 days. There was guy over on xda transformer prime who tried to return his unit to someone without the sticker and they wouldn't take it back.

I have note 10.1 but screen is shocking its the Asus worth it?

I have bought the Samsung note 10.1 as I hate apple (sold my iPad 3) the Samsung its fantastic speed wise and I love the s pen but the screen its awful
What's the Asus like , I like the idea of a keyboard but its it usable?
What its the screen like?
Speed wise it would be a downgrade but has jb give the Asus a speed boost?

The screen is fairly good on the trasnformer pad TF300. It's great for me but others might not be as impressed for some reason. If you want a good screen, you could look at either the transformer prime or the transformer infinity. The tablet does have some I/O problems which causes some issues.

So it might not be a good step up then ... thanks for honest advice

The tablet's good, don't get me wrong, but it does have it's problems. There are workarounds and performance may be much better on a custom ROM but i don't know (I'm unrooted and on stock). The dock is useful and a nice addition.

I' ve bought 4 months ago the tf300t and rooted only!..phoned to ASUS 4 times 'cause it was laggy since updated to JB and finally exchanged ( plus cash ) with NoteN8000 preowned by a friend: another world, for me!
TF300T is a great piece of cake: Tegra3 is very good for gaming, fast ram, 32gb of storage but not optimized at all! I/O problems make it so laggy, as my opinion!
Note is really faster, screen better under the sun, good multitasking with 2gb of ram, 1 minute to root and CWM flash with "not void" warranty and the spen is perfect if u use your tab as a writing or drawing tool as me! "Only" problem the build quality !
Good evening and sorry for my english

Problem with touchpad clicker?

I just got my tf300t with keyboard dock. Great device.
I noticed something unusual with the chrome clicker bar underneath the touchpad though. If I press it on the left or the middle, there is clear click and a bit of resistance when pressing the bar. However, if I press it on the right there is no audible click and the bar doesn't really move down when I press it there. It seems like the micro switch inside is not working properly like on the left and in the middle. Nevertheless, the button does trigger the desired action (go back one step) when it's used. I am just wondering if this lack of clicking sound and pressing resistance is normal or the first indication of the button getting broken.
How does the clicker work on your docks?
Thanks a lot.

Nobody has a minute to let me know if their clicker works better/differently? I would like to send the dock for RMA if there is a problem, but first I have to figure out if there really is a problem. For this, I'd really appreciate some help.
Thank you.

Clicker working exactly the same on both sides. Makes click sound pressing the button for both left and right presses.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
Same here. Clicker bar works the same all the way across. Clicks on the right, middle, and left side. If it's not doing that then you need to take it back because it's faulty.

Thanks a lot. You are confirming my assumption that I was sold a faulty unit.
I sent it back in the meantime. Unfortunately, the replacement I was sent had an even more serious problem - there were two dark spots/stains "in the screen". They were not pixel errors though. At this point, I decided to give up on the company I had ordered from. Will wait for a while and then perhaps give it another try or go for another device Acer W510 also seems interesting too.
Thanks again and a happy holiday season to all of you!

Nexus 10 stylus and note taking

Hey guys I know there are a lot of post about this issue in comparing the Nexus 10 and the note. I am a teacher.I will be using the device for job and in meetings. I also am thinking that I could take pictures of students assignments and grade them and take notes and records from that.in particular I just need to be able to keep running records of student trials on certain skills. . I do realize that the Nexus is a sweet device and I definitely wanted but I need to justify getting it for my job is it going to be able to do that stuff?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
The Nexus 10 has much better pixel density than the Note 10.1. This will make reading anything easier.
However, because of the lack of an active stylus, you would have to settle for a slightly less accurate passive one. I happen to use a Targus stylus. Tablet styli come in many shapes and forms nowadays. If you have the time, I would recommend visiting a place like Fry's to try some out. (Some require you to press hard; some don't. Some slide easily; some don't.) The digitizer on the Nexus 10 screen is actually quite good, so you won't notice any squiggly lines when drawing diagonal lines. (Poor digitizers are an annoying problem on some handsets.)
Give Skitch a try. I personally haven't tried it yet, but it looks like you can take a picture and annotate it with this app.
If you can get PDFs of student assignments, ezPDF works really well for annotations. (Yes, I have used this app quite frequently, so I can attest to its awesomeness.)
It's a tough call--insane pixel density or insane stylus accuracy. Please let us know which one you decide on buying.
To be honest, great pixel density can only help so much. I think the Note 10.1 is much much better at what you want to do.

I have the Nexus10 and it isnt the best device to take notes. I think also that the best for you is the note 10.1...
Sorry men!
Nothing can outshine an original. Stick to Samsung the best!

You guys are being a lot of help. I appreciate it, it helps a lot. It really sucks that the Nexus doesn't apply as well for my needs because if I wasn't using it for school so much and class it would hands-down be my choice because it is awesome .. It sounds to me like the stylus and everything that comes with the newt is just invaluable for what I will be using it for . Anybody disagree?

No disagreement. Nexus 10 does media consumption really well, but it really doesn't do so well with productivity.
It's anyone being productive with the Nexus.. note taking.meeting notes etc

I use Catch notes with addons for meetings, little presentations, etc. As to do use Any.DO. Don't think that Note 10.1 can be better except drawing.

What is the difference between these adapters?

The first one is the official slimport adapter used in adverts, while the second one looks like a third party made version of the slimport. Function you will need to search for reviews on them.
Yup the first one is the real one but those prices are outrageous
This is what it should look like.
