Loose back - Transformer TF300T General

Anyone else notice how loose the back of the tablet is? Almost thought it was removable and after foolishly fiddling with it it squeaks.
Also the serial number sticker sucks.
The rest of it, short of the crashing browsers, is fantastic though.

No loose back here nor squeaky sounds nor crashing browsers (never used the stock browser, I use Dolphin). Yes to the sticker, apparently the sticker isn't important for warranty purposes.

I noticed this as well on mine. Feels kind of loser in some areas, not all.

Strange, I use dolphin usually too. Tried stock and chrome too to no avail. Oh well I kind of feel these hiccups will be smoothed over with custom roms

Got to agree with this. I can see it getting peeled off in a short time. I covered mine with scotchtape to smoothen it out.

already lost the serial number sticker. The FCC sticker on the other side is doomed to the same fate I fear.

Need to protect that serial number sticker at least for the first 30 days. There was guy over on xda transformer prime who tried to return his unit to someone without the sticker and they wouldn't take it back.

Padphone

Has anyone tried it yet?
I heard that the keyboard from the original Transformer is compatible
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
I highly doubt the OG's keyboard is compatible, but I want one so bad. Fat chance of that though XDXD
I saw a video where the person in the video took the padfone tablet dock and put it in the original transformer dock and it worked just fine. Then she put the transformer in the padfone keyboard dock to show that it worked both ways.
Seems like forward thinking. They'll probably use different color schemes.

I have note 10.1 but screen is shocking its the Asus worth it?

I have bought the Samsung note 10.1 as I hate apple (sold my iPad 3) the Samsung its fantastic speed wise and I love the s pen but the screen its awful
What's the Asus like , I like the idea of a keyboard but its it usable?
What its the screen like?
Speed wise it would be a downgrade but has jb give the Asus a speed boost?
I love photo shop with the a pen is the Asus screen good with a pen that you can buy off eBay

The screen is fairly good on the trasnformer pad TF300. It's great for me but others might not be as impressed for some reason. If you want a good screen, you could look at either the transformer prime or the transformer infinity. The tablet does have some I/O problems which causes some issues.

So it might not be a good step up then ... thanks for honest advice

The tablet's good, don't get me wrong, but it does have it's problems. There are workarounds and performance may be much better on a custom ROM but i don't know (I'm unrooted and on stock). The dock is useful and a nice addition.

I' ve bought 4 months ago the tf300t and rooted only!..phoned to ASUS 4 times 'cause it was laggy since updated to JB and finally exchanged ( plus cash ) with NoteN8000 preowned by a friend: another world, for me!
TF300T is a great piece of cake: Tegra3 is very good for gaming, fast ram, 32gb of storage but not optimized at all! I/O problems make it so laggy, as my opinion!
Note is really faster, screen better under the sun, good multitasking with 2gb of ram, 1 minute to root and CWM flash with "not void" warranty and the spen is perfect if u use your tab as a writing or drawing tool as me! "Only" problem the build quality !
Good evening and sorry for my english

LMFAO!!!!! Don't care who you are,....that's funny!!! Sorry, I'm not laughing at your plight, just the response.
There is a YouTube video on how to take the back of your tablet off. I saw it listed a few days ago, but didn't watch it. If you take the back off, you can get the card out that way. Hope that may help if asking nicely doesn't do the trick.

Compatibility and performance issues

Alright to start off I love this device everything I expected and more but I came across some issues. The first one I had ran flawlessly no stutter nothing it came preloaded with JB. I went and exchanged it for a new one due to numerous dead and stuck pixels that showed up within 2 weeks. The new one I got came with ICS. I updated it. It was a disaster. A lot of stutter and force closes I did a factory reset. It seems better but not up to par with my previous one. Any one have any ideas on this issue?
Issue number 2. I had need for speed most wanted on the first tablet. Then when I go to rediwnload it on the second one. It says the device isn't compatible. Any ideas?

Would a custom kernel improve it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
custom rom and kernel is improving as hell.
even i was never using stock, because 1st thing i did was ulockand flash a custum
Awesome that's good to hear. What kernel is everyone using. Also are there any known common issues I should know about for warranty issues?

Yes. You are going to have to unlock ur device, and that voids warranty

I've seen a lot of folks reporting cracked screens, so be careful. Also check your micro sd slot and hdmi out functionality if you can easily. Is your device new or a refurb? A refurb has a 90 day warranty vs a new unit being a year, so keep that in mind.
I know it voids the software warranty. I was more talking hardware wise. Its new not a returb. Just hoping I don't get a bunch of dead pixels again

Unlocking/rooting voids the hardware warranty as well. Asus will not be responsible for -anything- if you unlock...
Asus will cover hardware failure even if the tablet is unlocked. Just don't overclock it and burn the cpu up. Lol. Pretty sure they won't help you out it that happens.

I personally see no need in overclocking a tablet. I couldnt imagine a significamt performance boost.

Oh believe me, you can definitely tell a difference when you go from 1.2ghz to 1.6 or 7ghz. A big difference.
Sent from my LG-LG855 using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
What need do you have for those speeds? All your doing is increasing the likelihood of hardware failure.

Not only can you change the speed, you can also change the I/O and governor. That in itself is enough reason to use a modified kernel.
Also, I play a lot of games and the extra speed increases the quality of the games.

TF300t powerbuton / Charging issues
My Asus Transformer Pad TF300T has been sent in for repairs 3 different time in the last 2 months for power/ charging issues. It is only 7 months old and has been only used lightly.
Has anyone else had any trouble with the tablet not charging and the power button not working?

[Q] tf 300 screen replacement

hello ive unfortunetly broken my rather fragile screen and i wa wondering if the tf 700's glass will fit on the tf 300t
i wanna know because its gorilla glass 2 and is a fair amount stronger.
also does anyone know if the tf 700 logic board would be worth getting as an upgrage?
I think it will work BUT: it will take a long long time so if you want tf700 screen/motherboard buy a tf700

thanks for the reply
what part will take a long time?
the installing of the screen or the motherboard?
wouldnt the screen have the same intallation steps as a tf300t screen does?
and im only talking about the glass and digitiser not the LCD panel itself.
The digitizer needs different firmware and touch screen board so YOU need to create a custom ROM for it to work (replacing the tf300T's motherboard would be easier ofcourse but i don't know if it would fit in the tf300)
