Hello,
May i ask your previous ROM/Kernel/Baseband was? Was the Android OS 2.3.3 Rooted Gingerbread? Probably something to do with your previous installed thingy.
When i was installing x10S before, i'm doing this after my Stock ROM 2.3.3GB(baseband 71 and buildversion 3.0.1.G.0.75) in x10:
1)Xrecovery
2)FullWipe (Factory Reset)
3)Clear Cache Partition
4)Install Custom Zip from sdcard (Champ-Tof37-X10S-V8-2-Main.zip)
5)Started automatically (COPY DELETE Files,SYSTEM and etc.) and ''Installed Successfully''
6)Reboot Phone. (Updates Not Installed together.)
7)Sony Ericsson Logo then new XPERIA Logo and after 2-3minutes... Finally, Setup Guide.
Sincerely,
Whitefang
If this helps, pls kindly hit ''Thanks'' Button

Ah I see some differences. Perhaps x10S rom works for baseband 71, instead of your 54.
Extra:
Maybe you should restore to ur 2.1 ROM and visit SE official website for official 2.3.3 update through SONY PC COMPANION [MAKE SURE U BACKUP UR IMPORTANT FILES ALRIGHT ].
Even you didn't backup ur ROM, you may check SE website to for REPAIRING Your Phone Follow guide below:

My X10 has no market, got from Dubai airport

Greetings,
I had a short visit to Dubai and I've bought an X10 from the airport on my way back home. I had it sealed and I opened it when I got back.
It was shocking that it had no android market and I am stuck with the phone and can't replace it.
I just want to have the firmware other than the one loaded to it that is specific for Dubai with no android market, I've been reading in this forum and I guess this process is called "rebranding" if I am correct? Please guide me to how to get android market on my handset because they do cheat people when they sell android handset without market application.
Hi.
You could follow steps 1 to 6 HERE which will "debrand" the phone, then run SEUS for the latest FW, or should you want to root the phone you could follow all the steps.
I've followed the instruction till step 6 then I ran SEUS but it says my phone is up to date. I didn't do step 7.
I have the market now showing up, I will try it and get back to you. But I am wondering why SUES gave me no updates?
My baseband version is 1.1.27 and my build number is R2BA023
Are these the latest versions?
I've used the market app and downloaded my first application. I am really thankful for your help.
I do have a question, before I do steps (from 1 to 6) my build version was R2BA024 and after I did all you said I am stuck with R2BA023, when I try SUES or OTA update it says my phone is up to date. What does this mean? I can't update my phone anymore?
plz Re-post the link

Thx in advance!
Download Flashtool with a generic firmware, flash it into your phone and enjoy your unbranded phone with the market. After flashing with Flashtool use SEUS to be sure everything is cleaned with a clean install with SEUS.

thanx a lot for the reply....but i have a few doubts
1) My phone's firmware is already 2.1-update 1 and build number is 2.1.A.0.435 should i still download it?
2) Is the FlashTool version 0.2.8 the latest version or i shud find the lastest version and download it?
3) So,if i flash my phone wat exactly will happen? Will i get android market in my phone now?
4)Should i back up my phone before doing this?
5)there is Slide me(sam 4.0) pre-installed?...does this remain?
6)wat is debranding? should i do it too?
7)Can i update my phone usind SEUS after this?
8) what do u suggest...should i just flash my phone or i should root it too and do the utilise the below options?
-install xRecovery, Busybox
- Clean your Rom (remove /system/apps apps of your choice)
- Clear dalvik cache
- Optimize (install of JIT v2)
- Customize (installs apps found in the custom/apps folder of the flashtool)
- Clean uninstalled (remove any references to system apps removed in the Clean (root needed) step)
- Edit /system/build.prop

I don't know what you want to backup, but you could sync your contact/agenda etc with google. After that, download firmware .435 Generic and flash it into your phone. You will now have a unbranded device with market.
AFter doing that, you can optimize your ROM with Flashtool, install xRecovery, root etc... After the flashtool installation you will lose EVERYTHING. So be sure you back-up all important things.

Back up and restore could be fine if it does backup everything you want.
Debranding means that your phone is not LIMITED to one provider with software updates. So when SE releases a firmware you will have to wait till your provider releases the firmware for you. But when you debrand you get updates from SE and not your provider.

Well technically this isn't debranding because your phone is not carrier branded (It's just a generic UAE with no Market).
This is just switching to another region which has Android Market. But the way to do this is exactly the same as when debranding a phone.
Android Market isn't available in the UAE region.
So if you re-flash with another region and get market, and still using a SIM from the UAE I think it would block any content. But then you could root your phone and use Market Enabler to fake another carrier and get Android Market to work.
But since you "brought it home" I can say that reflashing it to another region will get you Android Market and it will work. You don't need to back up your UAE firmware when replacing it with another region firmware, and after you've flashed it with another region firmware SEUS or PCC will always flash to that region firmware.
If you flash to another region you won't have SlideMe Market, because all other region firmwares all have access to Android Market and therefor comes with Android Market pre-installed instead.
I remember when the first 2.1.A.0.435 build was released, that was to UAE it had no Market so I made a xRecovery fix package to get Android Market on it.
But would suggest you to flash another region firmware instead of this, because then when you flash with SEUS or PCC again in the future you would miss Android Market again.
You can find the latest firmwares here (don't use the AT&T but go for the one below called 2.1.B.0.1)

Sony Ericsson said:
The Android Market is not supported in the UAE. This is due to the fact that Google has not had the necessary agreements with the Regulatory bodies as yet. This is fully controlled and managed by Google. Sony Ericsson will be offering Slide Me which is an alternative to Android market in the UAE.

I reuploaded to a better site
Been using this for a little over 12 hours and despite the new enhancements and slightly faster running speed, I've had nothing but problems with:
- Touchscreen response is all over the place
- Had to uninstall Swype as touchscreen was making things up as it went
- Connectivity with wifi is patchy, connectivity with mobile data is questionable at best
- Sync issues related to connectivity
- Battery drain is significantly higher.
Is this an official Neo FW or something that's been compiled from the Arc release? If so, might be best to wait until the Neo FW is released properly. The update works beautifully on the Arc, but on the Neo (I have both handsets) I'm flashing back to rooted 2.3.2 and applying 2.3.3 OTA to await the new OTA build.
I recommend flashing via Wotanclient. Then unlock bootloader.
Thanks to Bi4ary, rooting newest Xperia firmware(4.0.A...) is very simple and safe.
First you need RootXperia.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639 Put it on your SDcard.
Then fastboot recoveryNeo.img from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183465
In recovery install RootXperia.zip
Now if you want to relock bootloader, then get this ftf, made by Blagus from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
Remember to thank our fine developers for such great tools!
(I hope that RootXperia.zip stays maintained by Bi4ary)

This worked for me 100% as posted in the other thread. No issues here. Just a faster phone,
No issues whatsoever with the hk-firmware. The only thing i've noticed is that the camera sound can not be disabled (not even in third party apps), but I suppose thats only because of the rules and laws in HK that does not allow silent cameraphones. It's however easily fixed when rooted by switching the sound files in the systems media folder.

It means that person had a problem with their touchscreen. It is not related to the update, it was just an individual error.
You can update without any problems using PC Companion or Sony Ericsson Update Service (recommended).

[Q] Stock ROM for SIM UNLOCK Purpose

Hi,
I have an X8 E15a. It's rooted with custom firmware and custom rom.
The problem is that it is SIM locked...
I have read that all SIM UNLOCK software require STOCK 2.1 roms. Is it true?
1-.So, how can I go back to stock rom? Is there and custom recoverye flashable stock?
2-.Is there any way to sim unlock (besides of course contact my local carrier and ask for it).
Best Regards.
1. You an flash it, with SEUS or PC Companion, you can download them from SE's web page, or yo can flash it with FlashTool (Easiest way: SEUS or PCC)
2. You can unlock your phone on different webpages, where you pay, and they give you instructions for unlocking your phone

This is so weird...
I'm using FLASHTOOL using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12442257#post12442257
I flashed this rom:
SE x8_2.1_rus.ftf
Which is 2.1 right? Well... now it's on Android 1.6.
I said "hey maybe I made a mistake..." and downloaded from this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875688
This file:
E15a android 2.1.1 SI 1243-9502 Sony
So... following this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
I made an FTF file with it... and flashed it.
To my surprise I am still on Android 1.6 also BASEBAND shows UNKONWN.
SEUS and PCC still shows NO UPDATE for my phone, even using REPAIR.
Please, I need help with it.
So I flashed baseband for E15A from this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=976538
But now my phone is stuck on Sony Ericsson logo... not even Android 1.6
When I try to flash a "made by me" FTF file it gives me a;
28/018/2011 19:18:58 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
I can only flash: SE x8_2.1_rus.ftf which is for 15i i think...
It seems that the problem is that I flashed a FTF for a 15i and now I'm stucked in Android 1.6 and can't do anything...
UPDATE:
Now I'm on this rom: X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf
And flashed this baseband: Baseband 015 - kernel 2.1.1.A.0.6
Do you think it's OK for unlocking?
UPDATE2:
UNLOCKED WORKED FINE WITH: X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf
I used a software called: Multi Unlock CLient
Best Regards.
That´s free, isn´t it?
So that means, we can unlock for free?
Because I´ve found a download link for that software, so I can get it for free/it´s really free.
And another question:
Will does be compatible with unlocked bootloader?

No, it's not free.
For unlocking purposes you need a USERNAME and PASSWORD.
I did not tried UNLOCKED bootloader as it says that it might "relock" your phone.

(1) MAke backup of your market appliction with titanium backup.
(2) Download 4.0.2.A.0.42 from ( jlmcr87 posted the link )
(3) Flash this firmware with any version of flastool i did this with 0.2.9 & 0.6.8
(4) After flashing the firmware root xperia arc with the methood of ( zergRUSH any version ) i root with the ( zergRUSH version 1 & 3).
(5) After that immediately connect your phone with wireless network and check for update. Its display that new version is availabe 4.0.2.A.0.62. Click to update
After update click to install. IT will take time and your phone start several time dont worry about it. After completing update first boot take time.

Happy to hear it works for you. It doesn't work for me. When I try to update via OTA, the phone starts updating, does a few reboots and when you think it is done it shows a message "Could not install new software version. Try again"
which firmware you flashed on your arc. i pasred a link of 0.42 download and flash it. it worked 100% i have done this on 7 xperia arc sets. all sets work perfectly working awsome. Try one more time with step by step it will definately work
Error
Could not install new software version. Try again.
Xperia Arc s

Same for me - tried 3+ times now.
This post seems to suggest the update is no longer available with ICS so close, but in that case I'd have thought it would fail earlier - the download seems to work fine; it's the install that fails.

ya.. but i can root ...
i have firmware 42 . i rooted with zergrush,then i deleted some bloatware previously..
so i have retored the stuff that i deleted from system/app..
then i update over air for .62 i download. after that phone rebooted.. then within the second it told me that "update failed" for .62 firmware ...!!
plz help to correct me
As in my second post i told download 0.42 firmware from this link( ://uploaded.to/file/vmfu4czg ) then flash it and then root it. Then update it through wifi. Today i try it on xperia s (LT18i) and i ts working perfectly i did not face any problem.
try flashing 0.42 Generic Global and then do all the procedure
Srry for lazy in translating, i have some more detail (including picture to demonstrate) in this link
Hope this can help
If you want to update OTA from .42 to .62, don't change anything in the system files. Update to .62 OTA first, then do whatever you want to your phone.
Hi there Got the same problem. I was always using Zergrush method for root. When I got .62 firmware it wont work. (fails in console while rooting). You said that we must flash .42 firmware then root, then update via OTA, but I got relocked bootloader. Can it brick my phone?
Not with locked bootloader.
Only use ota with locked bootloader
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Yes, but my friend got xperia play. After unlocking bootloader he locked it with THIS
method. Then he start updating via OTA and get his phone bricked.
I got locked bootloader with the same method.

It comes with NFC icon pre-enable I assume , compare with spain tft which need to modified.
any of the irritating notifications?
has permanent "swipe up to unlock" text?
compatible to all xperia z cust #s?
Possible to elaborate more on merging files?
I need help on merging the files as well.
Any idea how to do it on Mac OSX?
update:
I've figured out how to merge the files in Mac OSX with terminal.
After flashing the rom, I'm still on 4.1.2?
why 4.1.2???? i already flash it..
the same problem: 4.1.2 after flashing
flashtool 0.9.11.0
flashing process was completed without any errors
but... 4.1.2 and even not HK - just my previous build and localization

Same here.
The first time i flash from the last global fw and got stuck in a boot loop.
I used update service to reset my phone. It reverted back to the last fw that was released in the uk. So this was a couple of firmwares backwards.
I then tried to flash this ftf again. After the process my phone is factory reset but with the uk firmware that was released a good few weeks ago.
That's very awkward.
@feizylong: Did you use all (five) FILE_********* files from Sony PC Companion / Sony Update Service?
Did you include everything except simlock.ta?
Same here. Flashed and still on 4.1.2. :crying:
after comparing this firmware with ES one, i found that here are TWO "elabel" files!
but deleting of "elabel-c6603-row_201302281243_10.1.1.A.1.253.sin" from the .FTF (and leaving "elabel-c6603-row_201302281243_10.3.A.0.423.sin") didn't help at all
bye-bye, buggy HK
hello, working ES!

Hello, who can assist for the CMW kernel for the 4.2.2 version for flashing through flashtool ? I think there's none yet released, but there are version where you need to flash the whole ZIP file. I just need the kernel boot.img with CMW, as i flashed the ES unbranded version. Working just excellent, and rooted with DooMLord's V15 easy rooting toolkit
permanent "swipe up to unlock" text?
How to take screenshot now in 4.2.2?
