[ROM][Beta] Everybody Rom - EVO Shift 4G General

The idea behind this is that you download the rom and add tweaks to it and if its better than what I already have, that will replace the what's already up but remember it has to be based off of the orig. Once you have installed your tweaks/theme post a download link and sceenshots. I would like to have two different roms, one is ics based the other one is sense based.
[Edit] when you edit make sure you do not include miktweaks as i dont have permission to use that,if you do have miktweaks in there your rom will not be considered
Rom's current status:won't boot up past plash screen

Nice to see this posted here. Alright so now with basic troubleshooting. I'm not very great at this as I'm a themer but maybe a dev will step in and help out too.
First off I need to ask how you "Created" this ROM. What apks did you copy from where. what apks did you modify, how you modified them because we don't have much to go on. And also If you could upload your ROM to media fire or dev host or something and post PUBLICLY because the PM thing will end in failure.
Let's try to get this ball rolling

I would imagine he grabbed widgets and whatnot, in that case it calls for Rosie, then if that's the case Rosie is going to call for resources. A lot of posibilities here

So as I said in my previous post you grabbed my Rosie.apk and your phone ROM does not have the resources capable of booting Sense 3.0
Also data/app will not work unless you have the data/app enabled and built into the updater-script

What's the plan on resources though
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk 2

im gonna take a stab in the dark here and say its never gonna work without the proper resources because alot of the tweaks are done in the smali in the jar files. without the proper corresponding smali edits to go with the apks its essentially pointless but i wish ya the best of luck.

A system dump is all the stuff from the /system folder... It includes all the apps that come on our phone along with the framework... I use it to theme..

270 rotation

I'm a noob when it comes to coding and I need help. Not sure where this goes forum wise but can anyone help me remove the 270 rotation and just have the normal 180? Move me if this is general, I just can't stand the 270 anymore. I'm running baked snack 1.4 with acs 1.6 kernel and the frost remix theme. Help!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I would instead like to use this on a stock ROM, so any insight on this would be equally helpful for the opposite
In your build.prop file, change this line...
windowsmgr.support_rotation_270=true
to
windowsmgr.support_rotation_270=false
And how would we go about adding it? I mean, I know it's in the framework, so it means decompiling, right?

Its not in the framework, its just part of the build.prop file, thats it (sounds wayyy too simple, I know).
So basically just do the opposite, change false to true. Normally I'd use something like "Root Explorer" and edit the build.prop file in the text edit mode.

any froyo fix
Has anyone come up with a froyo fix for the 270° rotation? It used to be an easy fix, but with the froyo I can't find it in the build prop. Any ideas?
easiest way I know...
dl terminal from the market
open up and type "su" and then hit the enter button
then type "180forme.sh" and then hit the enter button
then reboot
Sent through the Matrix
Cool thanks for the lead.
Well no luck with the 180forme.sh in terminal
Any other thoughts?
Did you change directory to the one with the 180 degree script command?
Epic Experience 1.2.0.8/Phoenix 1.49s/Elegant Steel .02
make sure its "terminal emulator" that you downloaded. "su" allows superuser to let terminal make changes. "180forme.sh" should work. its what hero suggested when asked how to go back to 180 rotation. and make sure that you reboot your phone after. it worked perfectly for me. maybe try reflashing and then using terminal.

I think it's very difficult because they have different hardware, different providers (one from HTC, one from Amazon), we only can port Rom when we have full source code and similar driver and kernel to make sure it can work.
P/s: the kitchen you used don't support kindle so you can't make Rom used it. Need edit updater-script manually.

Maybe you should try putting one of our many kernels into it and seeing how that goes. It relys heavily on our kernel.

Oversized phone ? without the phone function ?
For starters I think you need to size down the ROM. The KF has 537MB /system and I can only assume that if the compressed ROM is ~500MB, then uncompressed it is going to be much, much higher.
You may be able to change the partition sizes to accommodate the larger size ROM. I was playing with a Sense port yesterday, based on the HTC Flyer, and ran into this problem. I may try to repartition it and see how it goes just for kicks.

I decided to see why the port I was working on is causing TWRP to just loop and to do this I checked what DMESG had to say. It appears to be an Out of memory issue. My guess would be it is being caused when it attempts to load the update file.

ok, i commend the effort here but this just simply isnt going to work without TONS of code modifications and reverse engineering. just copying files isnt going to do it. there is a reason why you dont see htc sense ported non-htc phones often. its simply not worth the amount of work that has to be put in. not to mention you'll need an experienced kernel developer who knows his ****. i would suggest not wasting your time on this.

HTC Desire V porting with Sense 4.0a. Anyone?

Hi guys,
I've just came across this new device for the Chinese market and here are the specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_v-4805.php
It has almost the same hardware as our old N1, above all NOTE that it has the same Adreno200 for graphics :good:
For now I have downloaded a European RUU (RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.59.401.1_Radio_1.05.34D.25_20.20.30.22U_release_263747_signed) for this Desire V (codenamed Primo?), and I have extracted the system.img.
Now to extract the content of that image I have to play with a Linux environment..
I've tried with unyaffs.exe but this image won't extract with that utility. I think the only solution is to "mount -o loop system.img" or something like that.
Do you think it's possible to do something?
Please remember that I'm only a cooker, with some (a little) experience, but with NO Java knowledge..

Hi guys,
I've just came across this new device for the Chinese market and here are the specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_v-4805.php
Please remember that I'm only a cooker, with some (a little) experience, but with NO Java knowledge..

can you please upload the system.img file somewhere? (or post the link to the original RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.59.401.1_Radio_1.05.34D.25_20.20.30.22U_release_263747_signed file )
Here you go. It's ruu

Do we need 3.0 kernel ?

thanks..
i think shaky's Sense 4.0 alpha rom was based on Desire V dump.. dont know if it is worth the effort to start all over again...
Wait. It was based from One V rom. Not desire V

I agree with xeloni. Shaky was using the One V rom dump, which has the Adreno205 gpu!
The great thing of having a device with at least the same GPU is that we can have the right GPU files/drivers and maybe have a complete full gpu rendering. Obviously we gonna have to build a 3.0 kernel and proper cpu drivers...
Cmon dbasabe ! !
And shaky has almost finished thé kernel but he stopped all :/
After Imperzampemo, in this rom delete all useless appartement. Some ringtones. Fast and Light sense

i managed to extract system.img, it is 800mb after uncompressing...
one more thing, i couldn't extract the secure boot image. anyone know how to extract that?

Shaky has not stopped . He continues in silence and won't post on xda again. You better be following him on Twitter.
Also, dbasabe has left a long time ago

OK, but now the main thing is to extract all the content from system.img!
About boot_signed.img don't know yet.
Anyway I still have to install Linux on my pc, so I'm stuck as of now..

Does shaky have his twitter account protected?
Didn't realise he had quit xda until I read this. Another dev loss; reminds me of Medroid / Samuaz.

Yea, I'm using that but it's really slow and I have problems... wtf! I hate Linux.

i managed to extract boot_secure.img also.. it had 256bytes of some security key on the beginning.. i had to tail it and then extract.
any way, after extracting, the system.img is more than 600mb.. we need to reduce it to less than 200mb to install to nexus one...
meanwhile im trying to boot with the kernel from the dump.. as of now, its not working.. kernel panic..
