Strange errors in first post..
"Check out the ROM Feature list here." points to .png that contains only one word "Downloads"
Link in "Changelog" section goes to aokp.com (not aokp.co)
In "Downloads" section link is given as aokp.cp (not aokp.co)
"Donate to Jonathan Grigg" is not a link - just plain text
And both download links point to one file( seems to be a 3g version)

JonathanGrigg's link seems to be broken. Otherwise solved

Great news guys. Thanks for your hard work...Downloading now.

Hi, does this support a dpi change option?

Yes, but you are very likely to get many FC's. You can try what works in build.prop

any difference to the b35 version up on aokp.co for our device?
im running it right now and its running pretty well but if this has some extra bells and whistles i will jump ship
btw does the option to hide the navbar work with this version? because on the b35 released by aokp the feature is broken (it worked fine on milestone5)

Which google apps download should we use?
Just want to make sure I get the right gapps for this ROM. Is it the one on AOKP site listed under the b35 release? Or do we use the one from the XDA thread for the M5 release?
EDIT: Filenames -
gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip (from the AOKP site under the B35 release?) or...
gs-gapps-v3.zip (from the XDA Galaxian Soup M5 thread?)
Thanks!

Just one more question - are the download links in the first post (for the wifi and 3g version) supposed to point to the same file? Just want to make sure I am not flashing the wrong ROM because of a hyperlink error!
Thanks
EDIT: Just flashed the b35 release with the Gapps mentioned in my post above (20120429), and I am stuck at the google logo with the spinning gears for about 5 minutes - I will give it another 5-10 minutes and try again. Did I just flash the 3G ROM on my wifi-only GTab 8.9?

That shouldnt get you into a bootloop... I'm not sure, did you wipe?

Yes - did factory reset, formatted /system and wiped dalvik cache.
Are the files supposed to be the same? They are different on the AOKP site.
---------- Post added at 03:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:36 PM ----------
Just tried again - same procedure, and I paid more attention during the flash. It did say in the text that appears during the flash that the ROM was for the 3G. Waiting for the boot to finish or hang now...
Of course it worked this time! Strange...

A bad flash. Happens . Note: There is NEVER a need to format /system, Roms are designed is such a way they just replace anything in their way.

Still having an issue where the stock browser just stops loading pages after a while. Closing the browser completely and re-opening seems to fix it.
Does anyone else have this?
Otherwise the ROM seems just about perfect.

Haven't noticed yet, but have only browsed to a few pages so far.
The issue I am having is with the Google Play Store - I was trying to download some of the apps I had already on my account, and I went to My Apps, then the "All" tab, and I was picking each app that I wanted to install on the left column, and then tapping the install button on the right. As I was doing this it was CONSTANTLY trying to flip back to Adobe Flash's entry, which is the very first one in my "Installed" tab. It is hard to explain. I might be able to take a video of it later to show what I am seeing.
Thanks
EDIT: Here is a video of what I am seeing:

I'm a bit confused. We now seem to have two or three separate threads about release 35 of ICS based on Galaxian Soup AOKP.
One is labelled:

The other is labelled:

The other is labelled:
[ROM][ICS 4.0.4][AOKP-Build 35]Galaxian-Soup - Official[GT-7310/7300][05.01.2012]
Is there a difference? Do we need so many?

The first one is the initial thread for Milestone 5 (aka build 34?). The second one appears to be the thread for build 32, then updated with info about build 35. And the last appears to be the "official" thread that was started specifically for build 35.
I agree - it is confusing.

[DEV][CM9] Iconia ICS Project - New builds 8 July

Continuing on from gh123man's Open ICS thread, we extended the scope of the project to cover the A100 & A200 devices too.
For the last month we've been quietly working on this & the wheels are now in motion to get the devices merged into CyanogenMods source.
It should only be a matter of time till the nightlies start rolling.
Merge status: Done
If you wanted to compile for yourself, follow one of the many guides on xda to get your machine set up & the CyanogenMod source downloaded.
Following instructions are for the a500, substitute a100 or a200 as needed
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch cm_a500-userdebug
Wait for the device folders to be downloaded.
Connect your device via adb.
Run extract-files.sh in the device/acer/a500 folder
Code:
brunch cm_a500-userdebug
wait for the compile to finish (can take a while), flash new rom...

Please hit the thanks button on some of their posts too, this has been a team effort.
Once we're official, threads will be started for each of the devices in their respective forums, in the meantime it'd be good to keep discussion here so it's a little easier for us to track.
Not working:
Known bugs:
Wifi? haven't had a report of trouble in a long time... tentatively saying this is no longer an issue
Reporting bugs
Please please please read the following:
If you have a bug, we need a bit more info than "such & such isn't working"
Things to check before reporting a bug
Did you wipe before flashing the build?
If no, nandroid, wipe & re-flash...
Check to see if the bug still exists.
Did you restore settings/data using Ti backup or similar?
If yes, nandroid, wipe, re-flash & don't restore your data...
Check to see if the bug still exists.
If you've done the above, & the bug is still there, we need some debugging info!
logcat output is usually a pretty good start (post it to pastebin or similar), we will let you know if we need more.

FAQ
Q: assert.failed:getprop("ro.product.device")=="Picas so" || getprop("ro.build.product")=="picasso" E:Error in /sdcard/Download/update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-picasso-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip Status 7
A: Open the zip. Go to META-INF/com/google/android/update-sctipt. Remove the top line with the assert then repackage and flash has to do with your recovery. some recovery's name the device differently (thors for example does this, just as an example). our tree uses the device name picasso, if the recovery does not use picasso it will fail, the only fix for this is a unified recovery or to remove the line from the update-script, hope this more detailed answer helps more...

501 3g ork or not ?
step by step for the leak?
Ok, I installed the .31 leak. I am happy with it though I noticed some SoD's over the past few days.
I have cm9 on my Captivate and I love it so I want it on the tablet as well. CM has a very nice wiki that walks you though rooting and installing.
Could someone provide some more fleshed out steps for this ROM as well?
I assume I need to:
1. root the leak, probably with blackthundr's method
2. install Clockwork recovery mod (can I use Acer recovery from Google market instead?)
3. boot into recovery and install the rom (factory reset and cache wipes etc, etc)
Am I missing anything? The waters are so muddied for the casual enthusiast with the various leaks and bootloaders and the sudden influx in roms.
Thanks for your work and your patience,

Okay, as I am pretty new to this device as well and I was facing the same situation as you were in, I'll share my experience in this matter:
I basically followed the instructions here to get the correct bootloader and cwm but instead using the package there I used the package from this post under section 1.1.
But I wasn't on the leak so getting my CPUID wasn't as easy as reading out the dmesg (but for you it should work out). I did the nandroid trick as discribed in this post by Euclid's Brother. The UID.txt was under /mnt/external_sd/clockworkmod/backup/2012-04-12.20.33.00/uid.txt. The text in that file I filled in Vache's site to generate my SBK.
Enjoy the reading
After that it was pretty easy. Just flash through cwm and don't forget to flash the gapps but you are used to that.
So does this mean we can get MIUI 4 easily!?
Thanks brother, awesome news for the Acer.Downloading now.
For a first release, this is amazing! Super fast and no bugs so far. All hw works as expected, including the camera. That's especially amazing for an "unofficial" build. Love the boot screen, btw. Can't wait for this to go into the CM9 sources. Definitely a great way to bring new life to the A500.

With the news of Android 4.2 on the horizon, we at Team Kang felt you, the end-user, deserved to see a Milestone build. With a massive surge of effort and contributions, we have one for you now, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The wait for 4.2 begins now. We won't release any new builds until it gets pushed to AOSP and merged into our source. Don't worry though; we are already working on some awesome new features, you may have seen some teasers on Twitter/G+ already!
This time we definitely focused on fixes, we managed to close each bug report received on Rootz and Twitter in the last few weeks.
But AOKP isn't AOKP without new features, right?
Adjustable NavBar width for Tablets
Allow "Vibrate on Touch" behavior for Slide unlock
Toggles can be hidden like in ICS - long press on the Settings button!
Clickable (short & long configurable) Clock and Calendar in the Notification Slider
Further notes:
Evita (AT&T HTC One X / XL) is back!
Tunas (Galaxy Nexus phones) ship with a different kernel (LeanKernel 4.5.0), you might need to reset your Color/CPU settings in ROMControl. Do it if you encounter any weird colors (usually green) on your screen.
Grouper (Nexus 7) includes the stock kernel from Google

What is AOKP ROM? Differences between AOKP and CM?
Difference between builds and milestone releases
Builds are weekly-ish releases. Sometimes some features are broken (but pretty stable for the most part).
Milestones on the other hand are released every couple of weeks. These are the stable releases.
If you want the newest and greatest try the builds, they work great. If you aren't as adventurous, or don't want to update every week, stick to the milestones.

If they are themes that you have flash in recovery they won't work unless they are for AOKP. Any CM9 theme manager theme should work for us though. I believe CM7 themes work as well but some elements are not properly themed due to file name changes (as stated above).

Very well, i'm pretty sure you can do better job than me!!!
This is my first work with android sources and porting work and i need lessons from you people.
At first impression:
a) Camera and focal (compiled by default) are good, at least in image quality.
b) Medium/High use of battery (but i installed FB, Twitter and other social clients...)
Anyway, i'm only just curious
ROM here. (At your risk, you can check the buil.prop before and/or wait for s0ftcorn's build).
Gapps: xda-dev topic (i use minimal version)
As usual: you need unlocked s4 mini, perform nandroid backup, wipe data/cache/dalvik, system and install from recovery.
My thanks go to Sir arco, CyanogenMod Team, Pac-Man Team and you.

I'm just about to install the ROM, I'll post and bugs or issues I find.
I love the support this device is getting from developers, this is a great small device.
Keep up the great work and effort!
I have noticed this issue with other 4.3 roms aswell
Why is the keyboard risen from the bottom?
there is a slight black space underneath the keyboard which causes the keyboard to take more space on the screen.
I admit I never noticed it, anyway i will see in the weekend.
I think it's a pacman's rom issue, but maybe i'm wrong.

I don't think so, as I have seen in it every Android 4.3 ROM for the GT-i9195.
I recompiled yesterday night (after full synch for cm-10.2),without focal and video editor, for testing purposes.
Only an initial random reboot for now.
do you plan to share new built? I love pac rom
Why not?
I will recompile and share it in the weekend.
then i will try it!

So there is official CM for the Active?
Kernel Sources link leads to 2.3.6?
Awesome, did you fix the Cam Issues?
If you can't answer more than one question with "yes",please give propper credits.
Also, do you really think a "**** off" in Build prop is useful? Or is it my own lack of humor?

It might be the fault of tapatalk, but I don't see any real data posted in the first post. It's as if it's just the preparation of a post, so I waited a day before I made a comment.
I will look at it in chrome on a desktop.

Tapatalk is quite popular for watching fora on an Android and this is the first time I noticed I'm missing something.
I'm tempted to install it but I have a feeling we'll have a Sammy 4.4.2 in February...
BTW not based on facts..
Info updated on rom, i'm slowly getting around to updating all the posts.
Please choose filehoster and tell us which file to download
Hi Cjen1987,
Two things. First your post doesn't state which file to download from the folder your link leads to. I guess it's the Smasher X -5.1- -jactiveltexx.zip but I'm not sure.
Second, and this I really want to emphasize. PLEASE USE ANOTHER FILEHOSTER OR SMART LINK SYSTEM. When I tried to download the jactiveltexx zip File I was flooded by spam windows, even auto-starting videos and it took me about 5 mins to find the correct download link somewhere hidden in between all these windows which had opened because there were download buttons and links all over the place. But none of them lead me to the file I wanted to download. After searching over and over again I finally found the very very small download link hidden on one of the windows. So please choose a resonable file hoster, as this was a real nightmare and such stuff is the reason why I don't give thanks or donations although I'm happy you made a 4.3 Rom for this device.
So bottom line is: I wasn't able to test the Smasher X File because I wanted to wait for confirmation from you that the jactiveltexx is the right one. So please confirm and I will try you're rom in the next days.
Thank you very much
Best regards,
Marc

i said i just share it
i didnt change the rom name by my self i just share it
This ROM was an official release I found it on the internet and suggested it to many after testing. I'm on 2.2 Blisspop Unofficial if you's want link let me know as I have uploaded already it's stable for me odd bug is clear all recents fab sometimes doesn't show up also it has Chinese bloat which is removable but on reboot comes back.
There's no official release for Yuga that I can find on the Blisspop website. Where is this from?
Edit - Also, if you're uploading and sharing roms, then you should provide source in whichever format is easiest for you (a tarball/repo link etc) in order to comply with the GPL. Please do so.

BTW the apps are removable I think there is like 5 Chinese apps the ROM is fully English etc... Apart from the few apps just get titanium and freeze them so they don't come back on reboot I have had 0 issues and it works fast as hell
http://roms.blog.163.com/blog/static/20685312620152175125386/
That looks shady as you can get. It's not an official rom by a device maintainer, it has Chinese bloatware that apparently reappears even if you remove it and there's no source available, which is an absolute requirement when any custom kernel is distributed.
No way would I flash that on my device as who knows what else is preloaded that isn't as obvious as the bloatware.
Sent from my C6603
2.2 is unofficial
But for me ROM is perfect no issues bloat I just frozen with titanium.
As for bloat it's a Chinese app store, baidu and some other things. And still works flawless.
2.1 apparently was official which was named official on the ROMs zip.
Noticeable difference from 2.1 & 2.2 isn't much tbh 2.2 has music visualisation on lock screen. Themes work better as sources will be more updated and smart control
If people want to test 2.2 I have link flash at your own will.
I have had no issues been using over 1week now and I have xposed installed with it for flat style coloured bars.
Selinux is set to enforcing by default I have an app to change it as I have a few apps that need Selinux set to permissive.
Screen shots
For the third time: Where is the kernel source?
It 100% must be provided, or the terms of the GPL are being broken. "So what?" you may say. Without the Linux/Android kernel being open source and everyone playing fair and providing sources, then none of the custom roms you like flashing and tinkering with would even exist.
If sources aren't provided along with the rom in any format (even a link to where they're provided), then you shouldn't link the rom here as it isn't fair to the developers that do comply with the license correctly.
