JELLYBEAN MILESTONE 1 is now available!

(Newest change logs are available at the AOKP site)
FROM THE AOKP WEBSITE:
With the news of Android 4.2 on the horizon, we at Team Kang felt you, the end-user, deserved to see a Milestone build. With a massive surge of effort and contributions, we have one for you now, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The wait for 4.2 begins now. We won't release any new builds until it gets pushed to AOSP and merged into our source. Don't worry though; we are already working on some awesome new features, you may have seen some teasers on Twitter/G+ already!
This time we definitely focused on fixes, we managed to close each bug report received on Rootz and Twitter in the last few weeks.
But AOKP isn't AOKP without new features, right?
Adjustable NavBar width for Tablets
Allow "Vibrate on Touch" behavior for Slide unlock
Toggles can be hidden like in ICS - long press on the Settings button!
Clickable (short & long configurable) Clock and Calendar in the Notification Slider
Further notes:
Evita (AT&T HTC One X / XL) is back!
Tunas (Galaxy Nexus phones) ship with a different kernel (LeanKernel 4.5.0), you might need to reset your Color/CPU settings in ROMControl. Do it if you encounter any weird colors (usually green) on your screen.
Grouper (Nexus 7) includes the stock kernel from Google

FAQ
AOKP FAQ
Check the link above if you have questions. If it isn't answered there, feel free to post any questions on this thread
What is AOKP ROM? Differences between AOKP and CM?
Difference between builds and milestone releases
Builds are weekly-ish releases. Sometimes some features are broken (but pretty stable for the most part).
Milestones on the other hand are released every couple of weeks. These are the stable releases.
If you want the newest and greatest try the builds, they work great. If you aren't as adventurous, or don't want to update every week, stick to the milestones.

Awesome! Thanks for making a new thread for AOKP. The added theme and mod links are extra bonuses .
I think this should be in the Dev sub-forum.

I've seen other threads get shut down because development wasn't going on on xda. Development for this ROM is on rootzwiki so this is more of an informational thread.

Will the previously made CM9 themes work with AOKP now that it has the theme engine? I assume they won't.

Would I be correct in assuming that coming from milestone 5 to B35 I only need to wipe cache & dalvik cache before wipe?
Don't fancy a factory reset again.

A lot of file names changed so most will not work correctly.. but some things work some don't.

If they are themes that you have flash in recovery they won't work unless they are for AOKP. Any CM9 theme manager theme should work for us though. I believe CM7 themes work as well but some elements are not properly themed due to file name changes (as stated above).

If your on AOKP 35 I suggest you give Black Infinitum on Theme Engine a try. I used to rock the amoled blue only, but then i gave this black theme a chance and I now have it as my daily. check it out under the theme/apps section

Actually, I have a big issue right now.
I flashed milestone 5 a couple days ago and today apps are starting to crash randomly after boot, starting with com.google.process.gapps.
Can anyone help me? This is my logcat:

Are you using matrix? Some of us have had that exact problem before. Try fixing permissions. If that doesn't fix your problem just wipe cache and dalvik and reflash the ROM and gapps.

I currently have CM9 Alpha2 on my TP. When I try to install AOKP in CWM, I end up with two options in moboot, Cyanogenmod 9 and AOKP. They both lead to the same rom, but I just end up in a bootanimation loop. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

You can also just delete whichever uImage from the boot menu in Root explorer... Just Wipe and flash aokp then select to boot aokp. The uImages are in the boot directory. uImage.cyanogenmod you can either rename it or just delete it. The hardware video fix completes this device for me. Plex now works which for me was the only thing missing. Thanks alot ProTekk.
Dloadng now.... cant wait!
Thanks for the info on clearing moboot, now I got AOKP to boot up properly
Quick question: After installing AOKP how much sd card space should I have (32gb TP with only webOS stuff and AOKP)?
Changing what you've got booting won't use any SD Card space.

Hmm wont work at all for me, updated the app and flash, rebooted several times. Cleared the app data still not working, the app loads but videos just say there was a problem while playing touch to restart
I just did a cwm wipe and install and my moboot only has cyanogenmod as a boot option no aokp.
It's it because I installed with cwm and not acme installer?
What's the proper way to install ROMs for future reference?

No stock browser And I know it's still in beta, but this ROM comes with a lot of bloatware, IMO. I like all the customization, but don't care for many of the apps preloaded on here. Others may feel different, sure, but that's just my two cents. I look forward to watching this ROM grow.

I totally agree with u....they started with a base rom under 120mb and tripled its size. The options are nice, but I think most rom flashers already have there go to kernel and modem on the phone to flash to.

about that, i specified in the OP that you must choose custom installation and there you can choose the apps that you want installed in the rom, like the stock browser but you must choose the first kernel that says slim default if you dont select the kernel you will have the otherone you have previously
I havent really delved too much in to this ROM, but when choosing apps I noticed the Google Chrome browser, but not the stock android browser. I may have missed it

I believe you. After I leave the office I'll have more time to fiddle with this ROM. I look forward to all the custom options this rom offers. Thanks.

it is fast, it is stable and customizable indeed, but nothing works for me i mean only thing i can do is sending/receiving an sms
whatever ringtone or default notification i choose does not matter it does have no sound, everything i correct in stteings, it just does not make any sound. I try to play some music with player no sound again
i can call and receive a call but i can't hear anything and they can't hear me on other side either
i tried flashing few times, default, cutomized, with advised kernel, without advised kernel, but glitch and having always same results.
every other rom works just fine, this is sad as i really liked it
Same prob with sound. Also my camera won't work. I get an error unable to connect to camera!

Okay time to break the seal on noob questions..
Why did it take convincing to post this?
I'm not able to do an exhaustive search because I don't have my laptop with me. If coming from an ICS AOKP ROM, do I have to take special steps, or can I wipe and flash from recovery? My kernel is clockwork based, but I'm not sure if I need to change bootloaders.
Thank you for your work! I basically went straight from froyo into ICS, so I'm curious to see what the GB hype is all about. It seems that there are diehard GB users out there.

the reason it took some convincing for me to do this is I am actually a themer for The Collective not a dev. The extremely talented dev I theme for crt60 has been trying to get me to do a ROM for a while now and MPD ROM is the result.
So if your coming from an ICS based ROM you will have to use Odin to reformat the partitions on your sd card ICS uses a diffrent partition table. I highly recommend the KK4 with repartition by 4-2ndtwin found here then flash the CWM kernel (link in op). You will need to be on I897 GB bootloaders I am not real sure what bootloaders the ICS ROMs use but you can chek your current ROM's thread to find out. If you end up needing them the one clicks linked above has a version with and without bootloaders.
there are a few reasons for the die hard GB fans, there has been a lot of development on GB and some of the features haven't quite made it to ICS yet. There is also the EU bug that has some users afraid of rendering thier device useless from running an ICS ROM. Lastly and I'm prolly gonna open a can of worms on this one but battery life (from what I hear) is better on GB.
Can mods and themes from Legend 4 be used on this rom ?
Edit: I don't think so. I tried the circle battery and on reboot it never got past the boot animation

Does Slim 4.2.1 include or work with DSP Manager? (A nice tuning tool for music lover from CM)
Can I use this theme in this ROM? http://www.slimroms.net/index.php/downloads/all/viewcategory/64-icsbluethemes

Yes, DSP Manager is included.
Awesome rom! Big thanks!
And, happy holidays!
I read the changelog and am ITCHING to try this bad boy. Do you have to do a full wipe? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I'm on Slimbean 3.1, and I do have the latest Semaphore downloaded that works with 4.2.1. I'm assuming a full wipe, but would like to be sure. Also, do I need to redownload gapps?

Yes I recommend full wipe. And yes new gapps and addons.

In the install instructions it gives 2 options from another room and advanced. And I quote
"For expert/advanced users ( those who debug on their own):
Download 4.2.1 from here
Wipe cache/dalvik, flash device zip and gapps upgrade zip
Reboot, if your run into issues, do the steps "For Most Users" and try to reproduce"
The gapps upgrade zip, is that the same as from 3.1 Or not available yet?

So far awesome. System volume a bit low and I can't find the hold back to kill option.

Actually it's Developer Options, and I wonder why it requires you to tap the build number in about phone a few times to unlock it... Thanks for the tip though.
Google is doing that so normal non-modifying consumers don't get confused by it.

I thought that was a joke! I confused it with multitapping the version number to get the Jellybean icon! I actually thought you guys were joking! LOL! I'm a dumbass! So, you click it and "congrats, you're a developer! I feel so stupid.
Tried this ver and cannot boot. It stuck at kernel boot screen . I odined the 2.8.0 semaphore and can not boot too. But I think it may relate to my burned internal sdcard. I installed helleybean which is working fine with my phone.
Is there any other reason about the issue. Cuz I still love this build.
Thanks

PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT. This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

Is the ParanoidAndroid by @Shaaan same or its different???
If Different then what difference??
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
This is based on JB 4.1.2 and is a port from S2 whereas Shaaan's build is 4.2 JB which is not booting as of now
Found quiet a few bugs
First, after installation there was not root permission so I uses Shaaan's root.zip to root it. Then there is no Bluetooth setting overlay or toggle
(This was fixed in later version of CM). I'll report if I find anything else.
