Problems charging the battery - myTouch 3G Slide General

Hi everyone,
I have been having little issues with my espresso and the battery. I explain myself:
I have two original batteries, and no matter wich of them i use, the phone never seems to finish charging them. The charge animation is always moving, and never reaches 100%. The led doesn´t turns green either.
I have tried calibrating the battery with battery calibration and wipping batterystats, but as long as the led doesn´t turn green and never shows more than 80% of batery charged, i think deleting the baterystats does nothing.
I am using the latest cm7 nightlie, wich by the way, it has been the only one with working gps. Anyway, this issue has been with me and my slide since the first custom rom, and i have tried lots of them.
Thanks to all of you

Charging Issue

Has anyone ever had an issue where by their battery life is at say 59% and when i plug it in to charge rather than the blue charging icon appearing it just showing the battery being 100% and the LED doing successive double flashing as opposed to a static LED like i should be if it was charging?
I've not installed anything, flashed a new rom etc, was fine yesterday.
All i did was have a little play with CHTEditor.
somethings not right, it must be something to do with me messing about with CHTEditor
out of the blue my lock screen had gone, and it says i have a voice mail waiting when i dont. haha
Hard reset i think
update...
hard reset not worked...uhoh
Same problem here
I was in a phone call an al of a sudden everything just went black and rebooted. Turns out the phone stopped charging and flasing green and red. Battery ran out of power and the phone shut down. After the reboot the phone charged normally again
Another situation:
Phone started acting up again and endend in a reboot. Battery was empty and i made a phone call on the charger. during the phonecall the same problem happend again, but the battery was at 9%. I intended to unplug the charger and plug it back in, but after the unplug the battery jumped to 0% and shut down.
So, i think the battery is acting up. Having to charge the thing every damn day is finally taking it's toll.

yep, using the original battery, it seems to be ok now, charging as it should.
ahh well. cheers for the reply
one last this, how the hell to i get the lock screen back, i think im being dim.
edit
sorted
I have a program BsB Tweaks that has a setting for the lockscreen. Try that.
My phone is also charging fine when turned off, also it functions fine at the moment. i think it has something to do with overloading the device when the battery is low. Based on that its not possible to turn on any phone when the battery is in attached but the power is, i think everything is drained from the battery while charging it and that when overloading the battery just doesn't pull it anymore.
i don't have a alternative battery, mine is original.
What are the symtoms when the battery is at the end of it's life? does it do this, or is it supposed to give a warning or something?
edit: i am unable to find a manual page describing the different modes the LED could be blinking. I'm curious what is says about the red and green blinking mode. Does such a page exist?

Is it possible to force battery charging?

I've bought an aftrrmarket battery and I have problems cahrging it.
It often shows itself as "fully charged", the led blinks from orange to green and it does not charge.
Whe in windows mobile, it shows 100% (not true) , but if i tap the battery icon i see the real percentage.
It does not recharge also when the phone is off.
BUT
I have noticed that when i am into android mode (one of the ported builds) the battery charges ...
SO
I think there is something preventing WM to charge the battery when it is 100%, and this control is missing in android.
now the question:
is it possible to "force" the charging in WM so that it bypasses the "100%" problem (like in android?).
Thank you in advance
I think an orange and green light means theres a problem and it cant charge,
I have an unofficial battery that does that too......
no, as i told you, there is something more.
when i am in wm or the phone is off, cahrging is almost impossible (orange and green led, wm icon showing 100% charge even if the battery is 1%).
BUT
if i switch to boot mode (vol down on startup, hspl screen) or if i am in android, THE BATTERY CHARGES.

So you are trusting android, in beta on these phones, over the default battery charging software?
I hope you don't blow up your battery.
Do you still have the original battery? Does it charge properly in WinMo?
I don't know if this is any help but... I also bought a very *ahem* low priced battery and experienced the same problem you mention. This was before android was stable so I have yet to try that, but I was able to fully charge the battery in winmo by putting the phone next to the air-conditioner. My thought when I read your post is perhaps that winmo is running the phone hotter and inhibiting battery charging. Somehow, I feel as though I'm grasping at straws...
'Force' and 'lithium-ion battery' should probably never be in the same sentence.
The flashing LED is an indication of overheating, thus the system stops charging until the temperature drops.
Try charging it someplace cooler.
If that doesn't work, the a method I read about is to run the phone until it totally flattens the battery, then put it on a full charge for at least 4 hours.

or, turn the phone off while charging will help keep it cooler as well.

Darn, I knew I forgot something
I have one original battery which the phone came with, and THREE oem chinese batteries which look exactly the same, except for the lower barcode which is tinier than the one on the original battery.
I only charge them outside of the phone, with an ac mains charger, and they go to full 100% since it's what the phone say when I switch them.
Whenever I charge them in the phone (only time it happens is when I'm in my car and use the lighter charger) it's just math, they end up in the green-orange led loop, and they stop charging.
It's well known and it's related to overheating, but at least they do not drop as well, which means I can go on and use them for gps navigation or any other task and the battery will stay at the percentage at which I left it.
I also have the same behaviour of OP, that is, taskbar icon says the battery is 100% and NOT charging, info panel after tapping taskbar reports real percentage, S2U2 reports real percentage in green, which means S2U2 sees it as charging. Anyway, as soon as I go home, I wait for the battery to drain to at least 10%, switch it out and slap it into the mains charger.
My oem batteries last up to 3 days.
I have the official HTC extended battery and with the latest chucky rom i have been using it wont charge in the phone anymore. It always used to with no problems. There is something missing software wise that prevents it from charging.

Is the middle pin of the battery contacts bent or different to the others?
The green/amber flashing means "charging problem" which can be due to overheating, but also can be due to an incompatible battery.
When I got my HD2 with the original O2 ROM, the HTC large capacity battery wasn't compatible, this required a ROM update.
If you're running stock, make sure you've got the latest ROM.

Nope it seems fine. It charges the standard battery ok.
As I said im running Chucky ROM. I had something like 21st July chucky ROM on and it charged. Update to the 11th August ROM and it wont charge. Tried the 5th August the same. Havent had chance to go back to the 21st July one to check.
Incidentally I dont have green amber flashing lights. I have alternate Green and Red flashing.
The battery charges perfectly well in my desk charger and runs the phone fine it just wont charge in the phone.

[Q] battery problem, red led light is blinking, bought new battery, no bettering

Hi guys!
I know, that there are some threads about the topic, but i think, here it is a bit different...i´ll describe:
Everything was OK with my withe G1, since I forgot to recharge the battery, and the G1 switched off. I wanted to recharge it, but - you know- the red led light blinked...i read different threads etc, and then I decided, to buy a new battery. The new battery arrived yesterday, and I put it in my G1, tried to switch it on, and it worked. I was quite happy! I taped it on the charging unit, and the first problem: the battery display didnt moved, it remained at 23%, also after a few hours at the charging unit. I knew the problem, because it was the same with my old battery, but it doesnt interest me, because the battery recharged, only the battery indicator showed that not. I thought OK, dont thinked about it, and waited. Today: I took my G1, yes, battery display at 23%, no problem. I switched it off and after a few hours I wanted to switch it on. Second problem - F**K! The red led light blinked...and now, the battery doesnt recharge at all. The G1 works now only, if the charging unit is put on it, if I remove it, the G1 switchs off. Its the same behavior with the old battery.
I dont know what to do now, because i dont think, that it is a hardwarebug, because yesterday it worked, with the brandnew battery. Or is it possible, that the G1 destroys my batterys while switching it off?
I hope, that there are solutions for this...because im loosing my temper slowly...
Can you charge the battery if the phone is off? Red led light should show. You should wait even 30-60 minutes for this - it depends of battery discharge. If the red light will not show this will means that your hardware is broken (phone or phone charger). You can try use another phone charger to test.
That works sometimes....at the moment not, but one hour before, yes.
I had the G1 with the USB cable on the PC, the phone was off, the light was red (not blinking). I waited about 50minutes, then disconnected, tried to switch it on - nothing except a red led light - blinking
At the moment, there isnt any led light, if i connect the phone to the charger unit or the PC...
It looks like hardware problem :/
Would be OK, because there is still warranty.
But what irritates me, is, that it worked without problems, when the battery was charged. Also with the new battery...worked good, since I switched the phone off.
I only want to be sure, because the return merchandise authorization (rma) takes quite long time...
I have the same problem. last week i bought the phone, and used it till the phone battery was empty. I tried to recharge the phone, but i wouldn't go on, only the red light blinking. I had the phone charged for 2 days, with the og charger, no result. Looked like the phone was dead.
Today i tried it again, still no result. All of a sudden the phone turned on and was charging. It is now on 99%.
Should i contact HTC?
edit:
sorry, wrong forum
Just a wild guess. It could also be the ROM that you have. I had a similar problem with my battery drained out like that with flashing red light. Come to find out later that it was something to do with the ROM (CM6.x) that I was using.

[Q] Can't calibrate battery, no matter what

Hey guys, I have a Optimus San Francisco (Portuguese version of the ZTE Blade) and I've been having some serious problems with its battery.
Ever since I rooted it and flashed some custom ROMs, I have never been able to properly calibrate the battery. No matter if I use the Battery Calibration app or Clockwork Mod, the phone will simply NOT charge the battery to 100%. It will stop at 66% or some other random number. In the (very) rare occasions that I did get it up to 100%, the issues remained.
No matter what I try, the problem persists. I bought a new battery from ebay (just arrived, today) and, to eliminate any possible source, flashed a new ROM (I started on SS RLS5, went to CM7.1 Beta, CM7 Stable, and am now on GLS beta 22).
Just like an hour ago or something I flashed GLS beta 22, wiped user and cache partitions and wiped battery stats. I put the new battery in (was about empty), it booted and was at 1%. I connected it to the charger (remember, no batterystats.bin) and it didn't go past 1%. Then, it powered off. Right now it's supposedly charging while powered off, with the red LED.
Any ideas? Seriously, I haven't been able to use this phone on day-to-day basis for MONTHS.
Might be that your hw is faulty. Is the led working? The led should change from red to green when the charge is over 90%.
Here are the battery calibration steps you could still try:
1.Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged.
2.Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.
3.Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green.
4.Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5.Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the notification LED is green.
6.Disconnect the phone, power it on in clockwork recovery, and wipe batt stats. You need to use this sequence only once.
Yes, while tinkering with this new ROM I tried a "LED test" and the LED did flash red and green.
I've seen those instructions and the problem is, the battery percentage gets stuck at a certain level and will not get past that. So, the LED is always red.
Apparently I solved the problem by using another USB cable and my set top box's USB. Looks like the problem was in ZTE's charger.

Battery issue on S3 Neo

Hello to everybody!
My phone doesn't charge sometimes at all, it takes up to 5 hours sometimes to charge fully.
I am on the stock rom - rooted - right now, and for example, while having the red light on while its charging sometimes it doesnt light up (the red color).
Sometimes i also changed the sim card and i had a better battery percentage (i have made the batterystats reset thing later btw but it still remains)
I have tried a lot of custom roms, if somebody wants to know.
So is it a problem of the battery? I am using the original adapter.
Or should i flash the stock rom again by odin? I came to stock rom back with twrp.
Should I change the battery?
Can somebody please help me???
(Sorry for my english skills xD)
I have the same issue. My battery is charged up to 50% and sometimes up to 70%. If I'm lucky, restarting my device battery is charged up to 100%. I think it is battery issue and not a charger issue.
The same happened to me a while ago. The phone took a lot longer to charge or didn't charge at all.
Switching the charger (or rather the cable in my case) worked for me, but the phone doesn't get hot when charging anymore, so I'm not exactly sure if that's something positive.
Change the USB cable. It worked for my tablet(with the original cable it took 8 hours and with a standard one 3-4 hours)
Try Reparar bateria app
