Successor for Galaxy note ? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hearing some buzz on the successor of note. Nothing official yet,but may be in MWC or Samsung conference in March (?) , But what features the existing and to be owners of note expecting ?
Edit :
I know Galaxy note 10.1 and I didn't mean it.
Adding the main expectations from the user's responses
Quad core processor
1.5GB RAM
No Hardware key
ICS
Bigger screen (?)
Metallic body
Hot swap micro SD
micro SIM compatible
NFC
Reverse tweethering
Upgraded AMOLED
Better DAC - Wolfson WM1811
Better positioning of power & volume key
Dedicated Instant Camera button
more coming...

I doubt there'll be a "successor" to the Note for a while yet, seeing as it's only just been released in the US. A 10 inch version is a certainty, though.
http://mashable.com/2012/02/26/sams...eed:+mashable/mobile+(Mashable+»+Mobile+Feed)
Worth noting - it's running ICS! ^

Been thinking similar, looking at new HTC phones and tablets fro Samsung. They are all very impressive but they don't match what I have with my Note, either too small or too big!!
Quicker the note gets ICS the better.

Given the distinctly "meh" specs of the new galaxy tab 2 10.1, I'm assuming/hoping that this new Note 10.1 will have at least the same specs as the original note (i.e 1.4ghz exynos), or hopefully better. Quad core anyone? Or perhaps the processor from the upcoming Galaxy S3? Who knows. I just hope it is more than just a tab 2 with a stylus.

No it does not have the same specs as the note. 1ghz processor, 1Gb RAM and 7000 battery

As the chap above me said, that isn't the Note 10.1. Hopefully the Note will be a "premium" model of the Tab. I predict a 1.5ghz, and a slightly higher res screen. Which is a shame, as it'll probably be completely blown away by the iPad 3's Retina display in less than a week's time.

That tablet looks dumb. Same hardware but bigger battery n kinda better screen res? What a waist .
Sent from my Ice Creamy Note

My predictions for the Note 10.1
1080p Screen (SAMOLED HD, not 'plus')
7000mah battery like on the new tab.
Next gen exynos processor (my guess would be the 2ghz dual core one.)

Hopefully it will have a SPen and Android 4.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 with pen... And it's a Note!
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA App

I want a note with a 6 inch screen. But probably not any bigger than that.

I hope it isn't just a tab 2 with a pen... that would be such a let down.

I want a galaxy tab 7.7 with a pen!

I want galaxy note 5.3 with better processor and better battery, Galaxy Note S? Hopefully in mwc.

That's my thought. It'll have the SPen. That's kinda what make the Note a Note.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA App

So the note will evolve in a tablet? What's the logic behind that, there's already a billion tablets. The note is the perfect size and serves both needs, a tablet and a phone.

That's why it's called a "Smartlet"...

Samsung Galaxy S2 I-9103

Heyo
Here we will put all news and questions about the SGS2 I-9103.
Here are the Specs:

I9100 (to compare)
http://www.91mobiles.com/mobile/Samsung/Galaxy+S+II+I9100/8374.html
I mark'd the differences in yellow that I saw so far.
The main differents are the SLCD (Super Liquid Chrystal Display) and the Nvidia Tegra 2 Processor and it seems that the 1080p HD Video Recording is at 30fps in stock.
I think the new SLCD Screen will boost the battery life alot !
Any new Information about this model of SGS2 can be posted here !
I will edit it soon with more Information.
Can't wait to get it!
I cant see any difference between 9100 & 9103
Are there any?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Old info, look at the post date. Samsung has stated they don't have any plans to release this device any time soon. Micht change in the future but now it's definatly cancelled.
Screen is Super LCD rather than Super AMOLED Plus and the Processor is a Tegra 2 Processor (Nvidia) rather than Samsung's own Exynos
Exynos + Chainfire 3D ftw!!
samsung meant to release this phone because they can't answer the orders for 9100.. the samsung i-9103 has some benefits and handicaps against the i-9100. 9103 has a nvidia tegra2 graphic processor which might be stronger in some cases but lacks the benefits of the th super amoled plus screen since it has a clear type LCD screen..
just like the i9003 (AKA Galaxy S i9000 2011 editon)
- added a screenshot with yellow marks
hope that they will release it soon and not in 2012.
Then I would wait for an SGS3 !
Any news about Samsung GT-I9103
Any release date ?
BC I dont know what to do. Wait for Glaxy S II i9103, OR take LG Optimus 2X...
There's also the new GT-I9001 coming in september. It's called Galaxy S Plus, and actually beats the SGS2 in cpu-specs. Samsung.de is already advertising for it on their homepage.
Dual-core 1,4 Ghz cpu beats the SGS2, but othervise its smaller in specs - 5Mp camera, 8 Gb internal memory and so on.
So by overclocking the SGS2 a bit, it's still the strongest in the block...
It says "Ultraschneller 1,4 GHz Prozessor" which means something like fast 1,4GHz CPU, but no mention of Dualcore somewhere... so its a Singlecore, every marketing department would mention Dualcore if it would be a dualcore...
SLCD screen will increase battery use not decrease it compared to samLED+

Yes, I agree, pretty sure it is single core, probably also based on Cortex A8, so it is slower than SGS2 also in single threaded tasks regardless of the higher clock frequency.

No. The Galaxy S Plus has a single core CPU.
So many rumours about Galaxy devices... Tegra 2 dual-core galaxy SII is more of a Cinderella for now, doesn't exist and probably won't exist at all.

1.4 GHz Exynos DC
10.1 Inch Screen (1280x800 Resolution)
Android 4.0
3 MP Cam
16GB/32GB/64 GB
S-Pen
Same specs as the Note, except for the camera. This has 3Mpixel camera as a main one. According to PCworld, the built-in S Note program spawns a window to the right of the Web browser, so as to take notes while still surfing. 7000mAh battery, Android 4.0 and will come in 16, 32, and 64GB models. Keep in mind this has the same resolution as the Note.
However, i still wouldn't buy it. The reason is portability.

Don't you think that's an overkill for a tiny screen? I think 1280x800 or 1600x900 is plenty...
Many 30 and 40'' tv's still have only 1366x768.
Always the same discussion. The difference here is that you so not sit 10 inches from that 40" TV. You usually sit 10 feet away. So the screen is bigger but also you are farther away.
Also we are forgetting the big difference between the 5.3" and 10.1" Note, the smaller one is a phone, has 3G radio.
The good thing about this announcement is that it has ICS on it, and, as the internal hardware is the same as the 5.3" Note, it means it should not take much time to get a ICS ROM for our note. They just have to add drivers for the phone and FM radio parts.

Agree with above
I was hoping it would be a new a15 processor, but sadly it seems that is not the case :-(
As great as the specs of the note are at present, they are going to be quickly over taken once the Snapdragon S4s and Tegra 3s start hitting the market.
Also the resolution of the screen, whilst acceptable, is going to look outdated in less than a month.
I know these are the perils of buying any high end android device, but I was hoping Samsung would be smart enough to be 1 step ahead. Seems not.
With Apple releasing a retina display for iPad 3 1280x800 is a bit underwhelming for a new tablet. It's not a penile screen though, so that differs from the note.

One great thing about it is the bundled Adobe photoshop touch and Adobe ideas software that you get for free. They look really nice, and they cost £6.99 or $9.99 each to buy on their own, so it's great to have them included.
Would it be really optimistic to hope that once the original note gets ICS, those apps will be added to the Samsung app store for note owners to download for free?... Pretty please Samsung?
since the the galaxy note has basically the same hardware.. i wonder if we can just interchange roms

These tablets feel like a refresh, probably the real game changer is the rumored Tab/Note 11.6 which is probably on a separate event.
No AMOLED display? sigh
Even though AMOLED colors, dynamic range, and 'white balance' (too warm) stinks, but, i'm accustomed to its super contrasty fakeness
Well yeah, same name but bigger, dont think they will upgrade it so much
Can it make phone calls? If not, then I perfer the 7.7
great ! I need the phone with the same size !
Personally I'm quite excited by this.
GSM Arena have reported that its the same screen as the standard Galaxy Tab but with a different Digitizer to support the S-Pen, According to them its quite a bit quicker than the S-Pen running on the 5.3" so hopefully the ICS upgrade will be including the new drivers to upgrade the performance of the pen.
Other than that, its a fantastic idea. Sit in the office all day designing using your regular Photoshop Set-Up with a Wacom tablet, Then go home and chill on your sofa and continue your design using your 10.1" Wacom Powered Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and then continue your work on the bus on your Wacom Powered 5.3" Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3.
This makes the device a designers paradise, I'm not a designer and I never will be... But I think this is a good shot by Samsung to try and take a device away from the regular Power-Users.

Samsung Galaxy SIV or Galaxy Note 2

Please selece the one you would like in the future.
what are the fantasy specs of each?
I don't think specs matter. It's about about screen size. Take a loot at what's happening with S3 and Note. S3 is supposed to be a lot faster thanks to 4 cores, but still lots of people are choosing Note. Big screen > faster CPU.
This is such a stupid thread. I do not want either of them unless the specs are officially revealed by Samsung.

This is false, and I will tell you why: right now the note has reached sales of 7 million while the galaxy s3 had 9 million pre orders... I think if you give it another 6 months (current life of note) it will further destroy the note in sales. Faster CPU > bigger screen for 'lots' of people, especially when it has the fame of the s2 behind it.

How do You know that there will be Note 2? Why would they build it? What they can improve on it? Where comes the trend of Galaxy 2, Galaxy 3, Note, Note 2? Is it because of Iphone? I don't think that Samsung will build Note 2 in near future, certainly not in 6 months or by end of this year. Current Note will be here for at least 2 years. Remember my words...

What if Samsung pay heed to all of the feedback from people that think the Note is too big and make the Note 2 smaller...?
Maybe they'll put a 4.8" or 5" screen in it... and the main differentiator will be the stylus.
All of this speculation is useless. Until we have specs, making a decision, or some bold statement that one device will be better than the other, is foolish.

My preference goes to the S3 as well. Note is just to big for me, S3 is already pushing the limit.
I love the Note, it's the perfect size for me, I love phones with huge screens I just wish it was more rounded for a more comfortable feel when holding it.

The only thing i don't like is that it's too big and the ppi drops dramatically...
But i do love the quad+2gb ram...
Anyway..i still prefer the s3...
I think the S3's the limit of what a useable phone can be because the Note's more of a 2 handed job and if like me you always blindly walking around looking down at phone crashing into everything the Note wouldn't last a day in my hands.
I'm gonna sell my "new" iPad and get the note 2, made up my mind!

If you love the Note there is no question you should get the Note 2 rather than the S3. None whatsoever.
I have two S3s, one white international one and one red AT&T one, and as one of the staunchest protagonists for the original Note I will definitely be getting the Note 2 (I wrote the best review on the internet for the original Note - here: http://www.androidnz.net/2011/12/samsung-galaxy-note-complete-review.html - a 16k word love story).
The 2GB of RAM in the US S3 makes a really big difference in terms of never, ever having launcher re-draws or RAM shortage problems. The Note 2 is basically an S3 with it's largest deficiency fixed and a mahoosive screen and battery. If you like mahoosive screens and can handle the size you shouldn't even look sideways at anything else.
If im correct..
The Note 2 has 2GB of ram, Quad-Core Exynos processor, and it has HSPA+ & LTE radio bands built in..
If so.. i wouldn't mind buying the international version if it works on AT&T LTE Network.. hell 5.5inch is big but.. thats why we have bluetooths
I'd get an S3 because basically, it's a bigger screen with the same resolution, and a waaay lower ppi.. I won't really favor 0.8~ on 70~ ppi difference.
The only benefit i can see is the 2GB of RAM.. well we currently don't need it, but meh we will in two / three years, and i change phones every two years so not a problem to me.
Note to people moaning about redraws: they're software related, and they're fixed, you can open 25~ apps actively now on the international version, i don't see myself using more .. unless you love numbers on paper.
Both phones have the SAME CPU/GPU, slightly overclocked (which i can do here, tada!)
In the other hand the camera pixel count is the same, and that's good, people think that getting more megapixels means pictures are better, wrong.
You'll get more noise and blurriness and all kinds of **** now, unless they put in larger sensors.
And for gods sake, it's jellybean not beam.
So to sum it up, not going to get a note 2 for now, maybe when the note 3 / galaxy s4 comes out next year.
the new gallery app looks good in note 2, hope samsung delivers the same gallery for us along with jb! but im afraid we havent seen any glimpse of the new gallery in any leaks yet
It is much more balance fill with a 2gb in a quad core device.but,I think when s4 pro in the market. It certainly beat exynos in pieces
S3 and note 2 is losing leader board too way faster then it's brother!
But, I love note 2 more!

Rumors note 3 (photo)

The rumors of the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note phablet are growing thick and fast. An alleged image of the Galaxy Note III phablet has appeared online, sporting a 5.9-inch display.
According to a report from MyDrivers, the upcoming Galaxy Note phablet will feature a Full HD display and packs a punch with the company's own Exynos 5410 Octa processor, with the four powerful Cortex A15 chips clocked at 2.0 GHz, and the remaining four power-saving Cortex A7 chips running at 1.7 GHz.
Samsung Galaxy Note III is said to come with 3 GB of RAM and will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Furthermore, the phablet is rumored to be unveiled during IFA 2013.

Umm rumours seems to contradict themselves. We have confirmation that the Note III will have Unbreakable flexible OLED(720p) screen.
The First Flexible AMOLED Display to be launched in Q4’2013
So maybe THIS post is right. There will be 2 versions, One full HD(glass) and one 720p(flexible plastic)
Interesting but why does it not even have a Samsung logo? Plus the bezel seems far too big at the bottom. Chinese knock off perhaps?

I agree, the phone doesn't quite look high enough quality. I'd be suprised if they made the bezzle that big or the home button that small. I'm also hoping that they wont make the handset that much bigger than the note 2.
As for the specs... they are what I would have guessed.

And why does it say i9500 at the bottom. Maybe if there was more greasy fingerprints on the phone we could see better.lol

We don't have confirmation of nothing, note 3 will not be 720p flexible screen and the one of the photo it is a poor chinese imitation like thousands others.

I don't know why you say we don't have confirmation. The source comes from the OLED association, it's pretty solid. And yes it will be 720p. We know they can't produce enough flexible screen for the market so logic dictates that they will have two versions.
And yes, even on the Mydrivers website the chinese comments all says the phone is a fake.
Because the "oled association" is not Samsung and they don't have any papers about the future devices of any brand as all of them are secret projects to avoid industrial espionage, so until samsung says that, it is fake.
Also, note it is a top device of samsung who cannot sell low specs like 720p, so likely the device with the new unbreakable screen with 720p will be a new one to test the market, not the second bestseller of samsung.

Well the news is from OLED Association but the info comes from SDC(Samsung Display Corporation). And if you read it doesn't say "rumours" anywhere.
Note III is a top device yes, so it should have top technology. Being the first device in the world to have a flexible unbreakable screen is not a little thing even if it is only a 720p. If having a 0.5mm flexible 720p(opposed to 1.5mm glass) means getting a bigger battery, I say go for it Samsung. I would buy a Note III with 4500mAh battery and 720p screen anytime.

Suspiciously similar I would say.
