I9100 (to compare)
http://www.91mobiles.com/mobile/Samsung/Galaxy+S+II+I9100/8374.html
I mark'd the differences in yellow that I saw so far.
The main differents are the SLCD (Super Liquid Chrystal Display) and the Nvidia Tegra 2 Processor and it seems that the 1080p HD Video Recording is at 30fps in stock.
I think the new SLCD Screen will boost the battery life alot !
Any new Information about this model of SGS2 can be posted here !
I will edit it soon with more Information.
Can't wait to get it!

I cant see any difference between 9100 & 9103
Are there any?

Old info, look at the post date. Samsung has stated they don't have any plans to release this device any time soon. Micht change in the future but now it's definatly cancelled.

Screen is Super LCD rather than Super AMOLED Plus and the Processor is a Tegra 2 Processor (Nvidia) rather than Samsung's own Exynos
Exynos + Chainfire 3D ftw!!

samsung meant to release this phone because they can't answer the orders for 9100.. the samsung i-9103 has some benefits and handicaps against the i-9100. 9103 has a nvidia tegra2 graphic processor which might be stronger in some cases but lacks the benefits of the th super amoled plus screen since it has a clear type LCD screen..

just like the i9003 (AKA Galaxy S i9000 2011 editon)

- added a screenshot with yellow marks
hope that they will release it soon and not in 2012.
Then I would wait for an SGS3 !

Any news about Samsung GT-I9103
Any release date ?
BC I dont know what to do. Wait for Glaxy S II i9103, OR take LG Optimus 2X...

There's also the new GT-I9001 coming in september. It's called Galaxy S Plus, and actually beats the SGS2 in cpu-specs. Samsung.de is already advertising for it on their homepage.
Dual-core 1,4 Ghz cpu beats the SGS2, but othervise its smaller in specs - 5Mp camera, 8 Gb internal memory and so on.
So by overclocking the SGS2 a bit, it's still the strongest in the block...

It says "Ultraschneller 1,4 GHz Prozessor" which means something like fast 1,4GHz CPU, but no mention of Dualcore somewhere... so its a Singlecore, every marketing department would mention Dualcore if it would be a dualcore...

SLCD screen will increase battery use not decrease it compared to samLED+

Yes, I agree, pretty sure it is single core, probably also based on Cortex A8, so it is slower than SGS2 also in single threaded tasks regardless of the higher clock frequency.

No. The Galaxy S Plus has a single core CPU.

So many rumours about Galaxy devices... Tegra 2 dual-core galaxy SII is more of a Cinderella for now, doesn't exist and probably won't exist at all.

SGX 540: SGS vs LG Optimus 3d

I just read an article here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4179/ti-omap4-and-lg-optimus-3d-tested
The LG Optimus 3d uses the same SGX 540 graphics that our SGS uses. BUT it is clocked at 300mhz vs our 200mhz AND it uses an updated driver. With these improvements, early benchmarks show it beats the tegra 2 and the quad-gpu in the SGS II. Of course these benchmarks don't tell the whole story, but I still find it interesting. I hope Samsung can make sure android can take advantage of the gpu in the SGS II.
Most PowerVR SGX 540 designs run the GPU core at up to 200MHz. OMAP 4's implementation is another 50% faster. LG's software build also uses a newer version of Imagination Technologies' driver (1.6 instead of 1.5) which fixes some rendering issues (specifically in the Egypt test) and improves performance considerably (likely between 10 - 30% in GLBenchmark2). You can see that the image quality issues are fixed in the video showing the Egypt demo running on the LG Optimus 3D below:

Taking the performance improvement due to the driver out of the equation, we're still looking at a nearly 20% increase in performance over the SGX 540 in Hummingbird. The 4430 holds a similar advantage over NVIDIA's Tegra 2.

Hey, I want this driver! Maybe, devs could be able to port it to SGS somehow.
By the way, GPU in Desire HD and Desire Z (adreno 205) beats SGS one in benchmarks and goes head-to-head with Tegra.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
if it causes the same battery drain, i want that driver too...
Id love to see how the Sony NGP with ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor & SGX543MP4+ GPU stacks up....just for fun of course.
The SGX540 is indeed a very good GPU. Still not outdated, even at 200 MHz.

I hope everyone is realizing how dumb it was to let apple buy imaginetech.
And how come nvidia (a company i know for gpus) seems to be behind in gpu tech?

Unlikely when you mess with the gpu clock there's an increase in instability, as well as putting other devices out of sync. I believe omap4 is using a different nm process to fabricate it probably smaller than the galaxys so they can put the clock higher.
The driver upgrade is the only possibility.
I think Hummingbird (A8) and Omap4 (A9) are based on same 45 nm architecture.

Guys, look at that:
http://glbenchmark.com/subtest_results_of_device.jsp?D=Google+Nexus+S&id=405
There are 12 tests of Nexus S in GLBenchmark, and 11 of them are below 2400 points (more or less like our SGS), but the most recent one (uploaded at 2011.02.11) scored 3025 points, more than Tegra 2. This result's is made by someone from GLBenchmark, and shows at "GLBenchmark team tested" page of the results. How is that possible?
Just commenting to keep this going. I don't want to put my hopes up too much, but you never know
I'm beginning to believe that it was a bad move from Samsung to switch from PowerVR to the Mali-400. I have the money ready to spend on a new device and I hope it's the SGS2 but I will wait first for the final product and drivers and see some benchmarks before I buy. If the SGX540 keeps the lead maybe I'll stick with my SGS.
samsung got tegra 2 also for I9103 phone
but SGX543 was good a option
Samsung pr overhyped their processor capabilities. But I guess there not confident in there own soc. If they decided to make a tegra 2 version.

i'm pretty sure they are only making a tegra 2 version because they wont be able to manufacture enough orion cores to meet the demand.
i think that the galaxy tab gpu is clocked at higher speed than galaxy s as it gives same score at neocore on (1024x600) resolution , am i wrong
Give an App for gpu oc please Dev's
And of course DRIVER update please
Interesting. I did see GPU overclock to 247mhz in some kernels, but any driver upgrade or OC is awesome

confused on gpu statistics..

Hello dear atrix 4g community!
I am seriously thinking of purchasing this device ,but the yesterday's ipad gpu perfomance I was baffled..
so I would really appreciate some answers on tech info before I make a purchase..
tegra 2 includes a single core gpu while ,from what I read sgx543 is around 50% faster than tegra 2 per CORE! 2 cores included in said product..don't get me wrong..atrix is already plenty..no...more than plenty fast, but paying all that money for a device outspecced by 200% ,a week after release, just does not sit well with me..so my question is....are those numbers I hear/read real, and thus should wait for a tegra 3 phone??especially considering the locked bootloader which equals NO rom support other than motorola's (rotflmfao) ...please share your knowledge!thanks in advance..
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I may be wrong, but the Tegra 2 has 8 gpu cores, while the Ipad 2s has 16...
Should be at least 150% better
Well a single core SGX540 keeps up with the 8 core ULV GeForce in the Tegra 2, and the SGX543 even in single core form outperforms the 540 by a wide shot so...

anyway, back to serious so what I had read so far was true..I guess I will wait...wow.it really must be weird though...I believe that actually all ces 2011 were outpaced only a few days after the event ended..what must be even worse is the adreno 220...what a joke, 400% less fillrate per CORE vs the competition, yawza..anyway,motorola has a history of bringing ti powered androids, I will wait for one of them I guess or wait to see how tegra 3 will do..

Lol, just putting this out there. If you try to wait for technology to stop evolving, you're screwed. Don't not buy one product because of something coming down th line. The Ipdad 2 will suck in august compared to kal el. The adreno 220 will suck compared to adreno 300.
You have to realize most modern tech has a shelf-life of maybe 3 months. The only exception ever was the HTC evo, which is still a good phone due to it being so far ahead of it's time.
I understand this well my friend..I am not looking for miracles...just this time around, t2 phones got outpaced in pretty much a week's time...so that has to be factored in,when you are paying this type of budget..am I right?I am not looking for a perfect phone, but not one left two generations behind either,by the time of purchase (again..I am not saying that t2 is slow..I know better than that )

American Galaxy s II variants.

American variants of SGS II seem to be better than ours, 4.5 inch screen. Slightly better may be. But i hope they don't get a wolfson chip and Vodoo sound eventually. It makes feel jealous.
No need to be jealous. Look at how long it took the first Galaxy S variants to get Froyo. And don't even get me started on Gingerbread. The carriers' policy regarding updates is a nightmare over there.
The international version is the way to go, unless you don't care about updates.
Also, 4.5 is freaking huge. I hope that won't be the new trend. I already find the SGSII to be slightly to big. 4 inches was perfect for me.

The only one confirmed to be 4.5" is the T-Mobile version (Hercules). It also comes with the same Qualcomm processor that's in the Sensation which hasn't benchmarked nearly as well as the Exynos chip in the international SGS2. The final verdict on performance will depend on how well Samsung optimizes its software on the Qualcomm chip.

Maybe if both are clocked at 1.2, but the Verizon (rumored Celox) version of the Qualcomm 8060 is supposedly going to be clocked at 1.5Ghz. I would think that would help the Qualcomm's performance.

Same here, even though the sgs2 is only 2mm wider and 3mm taller than my captivate it feels much bigger. The tmo celox is 4mm wider and 6mm taller than the sgs2, no thanks. They really need to go with edge to edge screens with anything over 4".

Really? I read/heard somewhere that american variants were going to have inferior processors too, then again i haven't done much research about this so i could be greatly misinformed.
I remember back when I had AT&T Captivate - how SGS got Froyo and GB waaaaaaaay sooner than my AT&T Captivate. Pissed the hell out of me.
Plus, AT&T butchered the phone - no LED, no front camera.
No, I'm happy with my factory-direct SGS2 Exynos monster.

I don't think anything's been confirmed for VZW yet. They may get a true Exynos SGS2 variant. Here's the pic of Sprint's. It looks like the size of the regular SGS2 not the 4.5" Qualcomm version.
If you had the choice between buying one from Expansy-US or waiting for AT&T to get it what would you do? I'm afraid of stuck or broken pixels, the yellow stain, and other parts broken or what have you.
I have heard that Expansys-US has a warranty am I correct? Will the unlocked version be as fast on the AT&T network here in the U.S. as the one that comes out on AT&T?
Thanks for all of your help.

Successor for Galaxy note ?

Hearing some buzz on the successor of note. Nothing official yet,but may be in MWC or Samsung conference in March (?) , But what features the existing and to be owners of note expecting ?
Edit :
I know Galaxy note 10.1 and I didn't mean it.
Adding the main expectations from the user's responses
Quad core processor
1.5GB RAM
No Hardware key
ICS
Bigger screen (?)
Metallic body
Hot swap micro SD
micro SIM compatible
NFC
Reverse tweethering
Upgraded AMOLED
Better DAC - Wolfson WM1811
Better positioning of power & volume key
Dedicated Instant Camera button
more coming...
I doubt there'll be a "successor" to the Note for a while yet, seeing as it's only just been released in the US. A 10 inch version is a certainty, though.
http://mashable.com/2012/02/26/sams...eed:+mashable/mobile+(Mashable+»+Mobile+Feed)
Worth noting - it's running ICS! ^
Been thinking similar, looking at new HTC phones and tablets fro Samsung. They are all very impressive but they don't match what I have with my Note, either too small or too big!!
Quicker the note gets ICS the better.

Given the distinctly "meh" specs of the new galaxy tab 2 10.1, I'm assuming/hoping that this new Note 10.1 will have at least the same specs as the original note (i.e 1.4ghz exynos), or hopefully better. Quad core anyone? Or perhaps the processor from the upcoming Galaxy S3? Who knows. I just hope it is more than just a tab 2 with a stylus.
No it does not have the same specs as the note. 1ghz processor, 1Gb RAM and 7000 battery

As the chap above me said, that isn't the Note 10.1. Hopefully the Note will be a "premium" model of the Tab. I predict a 1.5ghz, and a slightly higher res screen. Which is a shame, as it'll probably be completely blown away by the iPad 3's Retina display in less than a week's time.
That tablet looks dumb. Same hardware but bigger battery n kinda better screen res? What a waist .
Sent from my Ice Creamy Note
My predictions for the Note 10.1
1080p Screen (SAMOLED HD, not 'plus')
7000mah battery like on the new tab.
Next gen exynos processor (my guess would be the 2ghz dual core one.)
Hopefully it will have a SPen and Android 4.

There was plenty of speculation what kind of CPU powered the new iPhone 5 and in the end it turned out to be a custom Apple design. So, how well did the Cupertino-based company did? According to an unverified Geekbench results, A6more than meets the 2x performance increase Apple promised.
The results are nothing short of amazing - the Apple A6 chipset has two custom cores rated at 1GHz with 1GB of RAM and it easily stands up to quad-core Cortex-A9 and dual-core Krait designs running at 1.5GHz.
The iPhone 5 has more than double the CPU performance of the 4S, beating it in every category that Geekbench tests. The RAM has gotten faster too. Even the A5X in the new iPad can't compete (understandable as A5X only improves GPU performance over the A5).
As for high-end Androids, Exynos 4 Quad and Tegra 3 based phones like the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X manage to outperform the iPhone 5 if they are running Android Jelly Bean. Under Ice Cream Sandwich, the performance of the One X drops down to the levels of the iPhone.
The HTC One S and its two Krait cores manage to match the iPhone 5 under Ice Cream Sandwich, so it should come out slightly ahead.
Just for fun, here's a dual-core Pentium 4 541 (Prescott architecture) downclocked to 2.4GHz matching the performance of the iPhone 5. This CPU came out in Q3 of 2004.
If these benchmark results do turn out to be from the iPhone 5 (results can be faked, so take it with a grain of salt) then Apple must have worked some serious magic. The Apple A6 chipset makes even Krait cores look slow (again, it's 1GHz vs. 1.5GHz).

the benchmark tool is useless... its more OS based then anything... change your launcher that u use and u'll get a different score every time...

I think they used the US S3 which is dual cored, instead of the international S3. That's why the scores are lower.
1.Why post this on here?
2.A newer phone that is somehow faster....really? is that how technology works, well if it is then I guess the SGS4 to be even faster, and the SGS5, and I will go as far to say that the SGS24 will be greater still.
i think a lot of you who post Samsung s3 vs. whatever is insecure and are those who always want to have the best or be the best. People are competitive by nature but being obsessive, wasting your time and energy on products that serve the same purpose is a bit overkill. My advise is to find a cure for the disease you have. Just enjoy your phone.
