Tytung ics_htcleo_r1 Kernel Source Released - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I hope Tytung doesn't mind me posting this up but I just wanted to inform everyone that he has just released his Kernel source for ICS so devs can help on the development for the fellow HD2. From his post:
tytung said:
As promised, I have uploaded my latest ICS kernel source to the GitHub website.
https://github.com/tytung/android_kernel_htcleo-2.6.32-ics
I changed the kernel name to ics_htcleo_r1, a neutral name.
If anyone really want to help improve this ics kernel, please fix/add the following features first and consider sending me a git pull request.
Full Hardware Acceleration.
Proper hardware encoder for camcorder to record the smooth video.
More compatible touchscreen driver for ICS to fix pinch-to-zoom issue.
Proper VPN driver for ICS.
I uploaded my kernel source to the git mainly for the collaborative development.
In other words, don't add small stuff based on this kernel and then release a new kernel with your own name.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Good job
Thank you tytung !

Tytung usually does not share code much, but the cm on leo team is working on it, though our builds are pretty broken as of now but we're working from scratch. you can check it out at our git web. And for compiled stuff you can have a look at our page

{I9001} CyanogenMod 10 (Ivendor) weekly compiled by PsychoGame

Hello everybody,
Before I jump into the compilation proces and uploading my build I want to ask everybody first if anybody is interested in a weekly build CM10.
I know that Ivendor is not changing his sources every week, but the base of CyanogenMod is under constant development, so changes in the CyanogenMod source will be up to date again.
Let me know if you're interested by replying to this thread.
Also if theres enough interest in a build with kernel 3.0 inside I'm also willing to upload this image as well.
Because already one person replied I'm willing to share my compiled image. After all it's already compiled.
This build is compiled against ivendors sources on his Github and the latest CyanogenMod sources which were available.
Of course this image is already tested on my phone and everything seems to work like it did on Ivendor's last build.
Because Ivendors sources haven't been changed, this build still has the same bugs as his build.
To be complete the following:
- Vsync doesn't work, because the current kernel doesn't support this yet.
- Panorama shots
- Also mobile internet has a little glitch, which only appears to happen if you have a Pin locked SIM.
Solutions to this are:
* Setting the phone into Airplane Mode and back to normal. This should load the needed module.
* A more clean solution is to use the patch provided at: d-h.st/BgH This patch can be applied through CWM.
- Also camera view is upside down, but this is not noticable in the final saved image. (Don't know if this is a new or already known bug I don't use camera that much).
You can download my build from: mediafire.com/?m765ok5mtly7l6h
You have to copy the links into you're adress bar, because I'm not yet allowed to post outside links.
If anyone has questions feel free to ask.
Greetings PsychoGame
a weekly build would be nice
i don´t use the 3.0 kernel because of the not working camera
i hope it changes soon
Hereby I updated my thread and put in the links to where you can download my build.

Great idea. You can use 2 builds, one with 2.6 kernel, second with 3.x
it would be very great

AW: New Kernal Source Update2 i9100_JB
Bump for interest
Greetz
Alliance6.1|Dorimanx7.47|i9100¬Tapa2
Good news?
Can anybody confirm if this is what the developers require to keep i9100 alive?
source kernel international is out today for i9100 JB
http://opensource.samsung.com/
Well, they released the JB sources, yeah. The more important question: Are the driver sources for the proprietary hardware in there?
i hope it's the thing that devs need
For anyone playing with the new source, the cypress driver is missing from /drivers/input/keyboard. I re-added it and can now build a working kernel. I emailed sammy asking if it was a simple mistake :silly:
Here's the patch:

I think you should first pay attention to a Chinese developer who work in Xiaomi, ivan19871002
here's his repo about Hermes : https://github.com/xiaomi-dev/android_device_xiaomi_hermes/tree/cm-12.1
You will notice branch is based on nofearnohappy's work, which is based on bule's.
and he was developed on any Xiaomi's device which use Qualcomm's SoC.
RN2 is his first trial, he only use a week to learn MTK and he already updated a most stable CM on github.
I think there's no body know this news(I'm from Taiwan, so I know all the latest information from China. If you wanna contract with Chinese developer like ivan and bule, you can ask me in PM. I have privately way to contact to nofearnohappy and bule )
By the way, ivan may keeps maintaining this device...
PS. Pay more attention to ivan's patch folder, you'll find all the solution in it.
I check the ivan repository but him fork the nofearnohappy repository only, no one changes...
Nice to know, if you can contact bule and ask him if wanna working on team is the best way

You have to switch to his branch which named "cm12.1" that is 22 commits ahead, but not "master" branch.
ivan and bule have team up already... but I'll ask him about this.

Kernel Compilation procedure

I am new to android kernel build stuff. So please forgive me if this is not the right platform to raise this query.May i know the steps involved in building the kernel? I am trying to build the stock kernel updated by oneplus in github. Any help or supporting links about kernel compilation will be of utmost help to me. Thanks!

Kernel devs most likely uses scripts to compile their kernel which you can probably find in their github and adapt for yourself
