Canadian Note Up for Order - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Telus will let you buy it online outright for a whopping $779.
Bell has it at $729 but requiresa $30 mtm contract and $35 setup fee.
Does not seem to be available on Rogers yet.

I'm glad I ordered from Expansys. Almost $100 cheaper and unlocked. I hate these bas****s and am really want to get to the point where I am not locked into them by virtue of the hardware. Rogers is terrible - I have a family plan (four phones on it) so any time we do an HUP, the contract period on ALL the phones gets reset. I have stopped buying locked in phones and am a year away from making them work to keep my business. I regret having left Telus when the iPhone was first released by Rogers in Canada. They had gone out of their way to keep me as a customer - to the point where I had some amazing free customer loyalty freebies. Currently I have nada from Rogers in that regard.
/vent session off.

Did you order the Canadian or the International version? I thought Expansys sells only the latter...

That's exactly why i didn't order the international version... I want LTE!!
Jesus christ they making it hard for us to buy it at full price, I don't understand why? Not everyone wants a new freaking contract!

I asked Negri about this. They said to check back in tomorrow. They're testing this as we type.

For anyone with the Canadian Note - is it true that it just has 512 Ram!

No it does not. That was a typo and spread as truth.

is the LTE version unlocked if you buy it at full price?

Its locked if purchased from Bell telus or rogers

Its up on Rogers website... The lowest i've seen so far...699$ Sure it's lock but won't cost more that 10$ to get this badboy unlock!

def wrong section, but i feel bad for canadian note owners having their unbranded nicer device labeled as a bloat infested and branded ugly att phone
forum should be named Samsung Galaxy Note I717 instead of "ATT"

I noticed it says LTE bands=700/1700 MHz...which seems to match the AT&T LTE bands. But will that Note version actually work fine with the AT&T LTE??

Yes, bell/telus/rogers have the same network bands as ATT 4g and LTE, as long as its unlocked.

That's about what you pay in Europe, u didn't think you could get it cheaper, did you?
Nice and all but the problem is, even if it were $600, you would not get a 3G connection here in the states due to the radio in the device.
they have the US version here.

but they want an arm and two legs for it.
I don't see where it says that it's phone is enabled....
I just checked with Sprint, they wanted $550 without plan. So can this be unlocked?

Depending on which US carrier you'll be using, it would be better to buy a carrier-specific Tab and then flash it with a modem/rom that enables voice calling.

Release Dates In The USA...

Does anyone have any information on release dates in the US?
I'm also curious if anyone has heard any rumors of price with contract.
I'm on sprint
_______________
Just Flash It !!!
At the London event they said June for USA release, this didn't say what year tho. LOL
I would guess they will ask $299 with contract, will not ever get a US carrier branded phone again, go INTL it's worth every penny.
But that's just me.
itl sgs3's wont work on sprint. we're stuck with whatever butchered version of the phone sprint gives us
ps: will stick with sprint for their prices. unlim txt/data/cell-to-cell for $65/mo... not bad
As far as I've read , I think only people that use at&t can use the international version of the sgs3. Doesn't have the right bands for T-Mobile hspa+. So that means ill have to buy the carrier branded sgs3. Its cool though , I have an upgrade waiting just for it, and I'm going to keep my galaxy nexus (I love my nexus (- best of both worlds!

I have to buy carrier branded phones as well because Verizon is really my only option as a carrier. So I probably have to wait till the end of this year/next year to get an LTE phone with a quad core. Too bad, I really wanted to give samsung my money for this phone.

Tmobile lg 4 vs international lg 4

Well now that they have been announced I have a questions are there any differences between them ? Will they both get the same Dev support ? I made the mistake of buying the galaxy 2 from tmobile and worse decision I ever did had to get rid of it and buy a gnex since the support for the galaxy s2 was the worst and always behind..... Since I have tmobile might ass well use one of my upgrades and save some money on the lg4 just making sure I won't be stuck getting late updates or have luck of support like some people with the Verizon galaxy nexus are having but I understand why since they are using lte which changes the phone around......
thanks for all the help in advanced

NO! Pay $150 more to not have to worry about a contract, PLUS pay less with a Value or Pre-Paid Tmo plan.
It is too soon to tell if there will be a software difference. Anyone who says differently needs to provide a link showing proof.
The hardware will be the same.
Actually, it seems that the T-Mobile version will have 42mbps HSPA+, while the version in the google play store only goes up to 21mbps HSPA+.
Other than that, I would assume they would be identical.

FFS people. There are not two versions. It has 8GB or 16GB, those are the SKUs. They're both 42mbps HSPA+.
Google's own Play Store had a typo. It's even been fixed there: https://play.google.com/store/devic...wNV9uZXh1c1VTXzFfcHJvbW9fMTM1MTUyODMyNzI1OCJd

My bad, I saw the 21 earlier and I thought it was some deal between T-Mobile and Google. The Galaxy Nexus international and US unlocked versions were identical hardware-wise, and since there won't be a CDMA version, there shouldn't be any differences with the Nexus 4

I don't get it, why do you have to pay extra for this now? Should be as standard, I ain't gonna support this scam, Glad I don't live in the US.
Since they released an unlocked version the US variants won't probably be unlockable through htcdev.
LOL! I'll bet 90% of the people who would get that aren't developers at all.
And it's US-only...

Wow, I feel lucky. I'll be visiting the US in May. I'll be getting a 64GB version for cheap
I would get it now if it was available. My 32GB order from handtec.uk cost $653
Sounds like a better deal for a 64GB version!
Just on the basis of it being an unlocked/ unbranded version with LTE AND 64GB of memory, I'm all over it! I'm really glad I didn't order an unlocked one from overseas now!
No chance of this being made available in Europe with UK LTE frequencies, I suppose...?

Since the rest of the world has always had the ability to purchase unlocked phones for any carrier and US wireless companies tend to want their phones locked down tight to their networks, it might not be a big market concern for them outside of the US market. If enough people wrote/ called/ messaged HTC from other regions they might be willing to make a version for other areas with LTE, but it sounds like that isn't their immediate plan.

I am way more likely to get One given this. $650 for 64GB is a great deal. IPhone 5 64 is $850 US. I bet this will be a Nexus 4 -- sell out in 30 minutes -- situation.
Then again, I am on ATT, soon to go to Straight Talk.
This version will be sold with sim and bootloader factory unlocked? If so it works in all countries...
So this would work fine on Sprint? I don't understand this AWS business.

Where can I pre-order a factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5?

I tried searching everywhere, but all that are being sold are from contract carriers like AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Also, all search results that appear on Google are from the UK, not the USA.

Same here. I'm planning to get an unlocked version the moment they hit NY but I want to make sure it's fully compatible with AT&T LTE.
If someone has more info please post. Thanks
http://sam.factoryoutletstore.com/
I called customer service there and they said their devices are fully compatible with ATT and that includes LTE - unlocked phones can be bought right now for $799 - a bit more than you will pay if you wait for the official release. The only problem I see is that they don't tell you what model number beyond it being the SM G900 - They don't give the letter after the G900 -- and as we don't know how cross compatible the devices are going to be you run a big risk of buying a phone that won't have much dev support -
That is my take on it anyway - when I called and asked they said you could buy now and they ship immediately.
Good Luck -

I never said it was better - but the difference between the two - is the link you sent is pre-order - shipping on April 11th - the link I sent - they say they have the phones in stock now and they will ship immediately. So I guess for anyone who doesn't want to wait - they can - but they will have to pay more. And like I said, they don't give the model numbers - might be 900f I really don't know

So does that mean that our only hope for an LTE compatible S5 is the AT&T version? I thought for previous galaxy models people were able to import unlocked models that were compatible with AT&T LTE. Has that changed?

Got it. But then it comes with T-Mo bloatware and my goal is to order a model with no carrier bloat. Ideally a Samsung-original LTE compatible version would be perfect but not sure if it exists.
Get the Vodafone one! I read it's compatible with AT&T, has little to no bloat, and can be unlocked from Vodafone's site. I still don't get why Samsung won't just give us an unlocked phone for the US though...
