[Q] Extremely slow data trans on CM based roms - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Even I couldn't find an answer on it's own thread, here I'm posting in here.Well, recently I flash TDJ's CM7 rom forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414796 & having a big problem (to me).Problem is that data transferring speed between pc & sd card is EXTREMELY slow.! This happened in CM7.1 too.I googled & couldn't find the right answer for this.
I have Sandisk 8gb C2 memory card.Sense gives me 4-8mbps tras speed.CM(both CM7.1 & TDJ's one) gives me 500kbps-1mbps! Look the difference.Usually I transfer movies to sd card. You know the sizes, no.700mb-2gb.This it's not happening for big files. Also happening for small files like 10mb..So guys, please help me.I really like this rom & wanna taste.
TIA

I got a few small Questions :)

I rooted and am using Cyanogen.
I have a Vodafone HTC Magic 32B
I was wondering....
* Is there a way to backup all my shortcuts and settings. If I try a new image I always need to redo them (like all my instant dials from bettercut)
* I recently found out, and created new partitions on my SD card. I have a 4gig class 4 card I think. I made a FAT32, linux, and swap partitions. I think they are about 500MB each what are the best partition sizes to have for performance? Is 500MB too much?
* When is the next stable release of Cyanogen due? Im using 4.0.4 Stable because the newer experimental where giving me problems. Like not receiving calls, crashing, slow etc is 4.1.9.2 almost stable?
* Is Hero running well now on a 32B? Would a larger/faster memory card help noticeably Hero/Cyanogen?
*I'm interested in the other roms other than Cyanogen but find it hard to find out whats the difference is there something like a breakdown of what they do and look like somewhere?
I also find it hard to see if roms are designed for the 32A or 32B I know some state it but its not always crystal. If it doesnt state it does it auto detect or shall i assume its for 32A?
Glad I got these things off my mind
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jamie
*There is a programm called mybackuppro. Look here:
http://de.androlib.com/android.application.com-rerware-android-mybackuppro-jmnC.aspx
*I am not sure but you probably dont need that much for the apps
*I read in the forums about a blurry screen problem using hero roms on android 32A devices
*to compare some of the roms available take a look at this site:

[Q] How to create dual-boot with CM7 & OC Kernel?

Hi,
I am new to the NOOK and just upgraded to stock v1.2.
I also created a 2GB SD card with CM7 v7.0 and installed the GAPPS upgrade. Everything works perfectly so far and thank you for all the great work everyone put in to not only figuring this out but also documenting the way to install it.
To improve on it: My wife likes the stock ROM and I like CM7 - from what I read there is a better way of dealing with that than pulling the SD card; i.e. install dual boot. I was searching and reading about this but got overwhelmed with all the info and updates.
Could someone point me in the right direction where I could read about installing/upgrading to [CM7 v7.0.2 + dual-boot + OC Kernel]? I don't mind starting with the card from scratch and mostly need the order of things I need to do. I would like to keep EMMC stock for now and install in SD.
Thank you in advance for your help
Tom

the rom you use is very old....
i think its time to change your rom !!
if you want a cyanogenmod rom :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166948
if you want a sense rom :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326217
after flashing the sense rom, flash this kernel
http://www.multiupload.com/YAKT4UI92D
both the above roms are best in their class (according to me)
i my self use the dorimanx 3.0 rom !!
!!
regards......
Yes, it is probably the best if try something new.
Install new rom and before you do that make an SD ext partition. With that you gonna have more free internal space for installing apps. After that you can also move them to the SD card (if they can work from there of course) ...
Thats my advice ...
And 1 more thing - if you decide do change the kernel make sure that this kernel gonna work with the rom .... some kernels can't work with not sense roms for example ...
As already announced the ROM you are using is very old. Since your decision was to pick up a ROM which is very close to stock I suggest using tytungs ROMs. You can try his NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.2a. To get more space for installing apps search for app2sd+...
and please next time use a subject in your thread ...

Some apps and games not working on GingerBread and up Roms

Hello every body
I want to ask a question about Gingerbread and ICS Roms, the question is Why some games not working on these roms? like NFS Shift and Talking tom 2 ... etc, this problem in all Gingerbread roms i tried, and it is not found in Froyo roms.
I think the problem in Kernels. any answers and thanks. sorry about my language.
Is this an SD or NAND ROM? If it's SD, move everything to 'internal' storage (actually the data.img in the Android folder) which will make things work. Obviously that's just a complete guess as to why it isn't working, seeing as you haven't provided much information about which ROMs and stuff. Have you tried posting in these ROMs' threads?
thanks for reply
I mean SD and NAND GB roms.
I can install NFS shift but not working, when I open the game it shows its 1st screen and closes automatically. but in froyo SD and NAND roms it works Fine.
u can try a another cm7 rom...or 2.2 rom,the higher version is not better..

[Q] SD Card Crash ROM: CM7.2 Maniac 20130710

Hello All,
I have been reading many thread by now, trying to get my good old defy+ to work as I want it.
Now I would really like to get a fix for a ROM, but since I am a new user, can't post into the development thread of the ROM...so I give it a try here...
CM7.2 MANIAC 20131007
ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2359305&page=7
ROM: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0ByzS9fSYbR8UUHVrRlgzdDB4NWM#list
I tried many roms, including >CM7.2 etc, but I found it this rom be the most stable and fast for what I need to do with my phone, except....
=>The SD card crash issues....
I have been reading up on the mmcfix info that is out there, but from that I conclude it should already be into this ROM...then how to fix SD crashes to happen every week? I am using Sandik 32Gb Ultra, which I found many people to have problems with also, only fix to change the card???
Thanks for the help, I am just not figuring it out through searching on my own...
