Liquipel Your Samsung Galaxy Note NOW! Awesome! - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Well, looks like we will not be left in the dusk when new waterproof phones release in the market later this year. Send your Samsung Galaxy Note to Liquipel to get your phone water-proofed NOW! This is not a marketing gimmick. Using nanotechnology it is very similar to HzO. However, this process can be applied on existing phones that do not feature HzO technology! Amazing huh?
http://www.liquipel.com/

It's the "how to be without your device for x days" that I wouldn't want.
If it came that way, it's one thing, but this device is is my work device.
Yeah, I could go use my old Dell Streak for X days, but it would tick me
off having to use it LOL.

The first thing it asks you is the model of your phone and the Galaxy Note or Galaxy anthing is not a choice.
I am sure this does not mean they cannot do it but I do not think they have tested our phone to make sure it does work. Until it is on their list, I do not believe they will accept our phone.
I would call but I would not do it since I have never let any of my phone even get close to water...and I have insurance on them if they did .
I did however, ask my daughter to consider it for her iphone 4s since who know what she is doing with it...

Im wondering if this will interfere with the head dissipation of the chips if it is done at a manufacturing level.
I would love to have this on my devices!

1. pay them $
2. send them my phone
3. waterproof magic??!

Technology Recently Introduced by Liquipel!
Well, Liquipel is a new company. It recently started, so gradually over the next few weeks - months, they will add most of the popular devices to their lists, including S2 and Note. This technology seems promising.
Check out their YouTube Channel,
http://www.youtube.com/user/liquipel?feature=watch

I emailed Liquipel about doing the Note and got this reply. Note is not one of their approved/tested devices yet but they will treat it. Cost $59. I may do it when I get my ATT Note
"Hello,
Thanks for your inquiry! That device is not currently on our approved device list but we are constantly doing research and development to expand the available devices. Liquipel is applicable to all types of electronic devices but with a varying degree of performance. For devices not on the approved device list we are still able to make them splash proof and spill resistant. We will file your request and notify you when the device is available if you are not interested in having it treated before it is added to the approved device list. If you desire to have our coating applied to your device before we have tested and approved said device to meet our high standards, we can do so. Simply select an approved device from the list & complete the checkout and mail in process through our website (Liquipel.com) as usual. Please include a note stating you are aware that your device is not the device you had selected, and that you would like to move forward with the treatment of the unapproved device. At this time cellular devices as well as iPods are just 59.00. IPads are 69.00. Thank you greatly for your inquiry.
--
Thanks,
Liquipel Team"

Um...
Would you all still apply Liquipel even though the Note is currently NOT mentioned as one of their approved devices?

As in Liquipel advertisment, only see Iphone#$% (lack stamina) need waterproof, my Note needn't

Yes I would do it. My friend did his Canon 5DmkII dslr and he's happy. Only problem for me would be time without my new Note. I wonder why they don't test more phones.

That's because they just started the process, though they have been out there since late '11,

I saw this the other day...looks interesting. My only worry would be from watching the iPhone on the vid,how do they waterproof the headphone port. idk neat invention none the less

Can someone explain this? Fake/ Knock off G1?

Hi everyone, I am new to the t mobile community and I was looking on good ol ebay for a G1 without a contract. At that point my search threw back this in the query. I was quick to call b.s and all that so ofcourse i didn't buy it, but I just want to ask you all what in the hell is this. Has anyone out there bought it or had any experience with this?

Just some cheap "iClone" phones from China. Check your local craigslist- people cant seem to get rid of them fast enough once they get duped into buying them
Alright, In the first link the bid has ended so i cannot help you there. NOW In the second, It's a piece of hardware that may be fake, For Example, My cousin bought a phone like that about 2 months back from ofcourse good ol' Ebay, And what was it, A Japanese phone that looked just like the Iphone, It streamed TV had an antenna for when we made the switch on cable and antennas would be dead. It had like an 8 megapixel camera, Beautiful sweet deal for a smackin' $200 bucks. SO he went ahead and bought it. When it arrived it was the phone, or more exact the model, Which weight no more than a stack of papers, It didnt turn on, NOTHING. He decided to use a flathead screw driver to open it up, and what he found was that the phone had nothing inside, Literally, Nothing but sand, To make the phone weigh. So from me to you. Don't buy it. Skip it. Go to T-mobile and get the G1. lol But that was just 1 experience never know.
damn what a shame. Hopefully the people who are winning these ebay auctions don't get a box of sand shipped to them as well. I just did some reseach on meizu, they seem to be the company that is producing this stuff. Maybe its good enough for china, but I sure as hell am not taking a chance with it.
Those phones are real (not sure about the eBay one, but Deal Extreme and others sell the iClones) but they are very low quality. They also sell a ton of Nokia clones.

Those phone don't even look like the G1. DA.
Lol... that second one has got SIX speakers!! Must be goood... hehe
Haha
I bought one of these a couple mounths ago they are useless without the stylus and no where near as good as any phone made recently but if all you got is 150 and u need it unlocked then this pos is for you lol...
Edit: this thing does internet movies music and my favorite was the web cam mine had it does a few things but it doesn't do any all that good
These phones do have uses. A lot of these Chinese knock-offs are bought by people needing unlocked phones and multi-SIM capability. In Europe, for example, there are many more carriers over much shorter distances than in the US. Also, the practice (law?) there is caller-pays-all. Incoming calls don't cost anything. Outgoing calls cost your rate plus the rate of the person you're calling, making having multiple SIM cards for different countries more economical. Many of these phones have gimmick features like TV reception, but all come with clunky, proprietary operating systems. Finding good, useful applications will be a constant source of frustration for someone looking for a way to complement his 10mm CZ "diamond" stud in his ear.

Samsung GalaxySII models for AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint break cover

But this provides more solid info that what I saw we currently have.

So while we reported yesterday that the Samsung Galaxy S II won’t be heading to Verizon, the silver lining comes in the fact that the three other major wireless carriers will indeed be getting their own models. So, the big question regarding whether or not Samsung would take the previous path in releasing these new models, in creating different looking devices for each carrier has been the question since the beginning. Thanks to Pocketnow, we can finally say that we (may) know what the handsets will look like.
There isn’t a lot of information going around here. In fact, where the above image came from is anyone’s guess. And because of that, we may want to take the above leak with the normal amount of salt on hand. We’re not sure if these are the final devices for each carrier, but we imagine that it’s certainly possible. So stay tuned, as Samsung’s event is just around the corner and we’ll have all the details we could ever want (hopefully).

Keyboard (a good one, not some PoS without a dedicated number line) is make or break for me. That's why I chose the epic over the other decent phones w/keyboards out there to begin with.

Sprint usually keeps the premium phones around the $199 mark, so I wouldn't expect this to be any different. No price has been announced, but I would expect that price point, but certainly nothing higher than $249.
Me personally, I'm waiting for details on the Nexus Prime to do anything. By then, the Epic will have GB and other goodies to go with it, and the SGS2 will already have ROMs etc associated with it. I have to rely on my phone quite a bit for business, so I'm not too eager to be an early adopter. I want to ensure all the small kinks and quirks with the SGS2 are worked out before I jump on it.
Nice to see confirmation of the design in the previously-shown pic that we assumed was Sprint. Looks like a solid design. I'm going to have a real problem deciding between this and waiting for a Sprint Nexus Prime variant.
Also, thanks for citing your source instead of merely ripping off an entire article as your own.
When the SGS1 EPIC came out it was $249 and then after the 2011 the price dropped. I hope they start out at $199 cause im just gonna add a 3rd line to my account to buy the SGS2 and give my son a phone! My wife will be taking my EPIC...

Samsung Galaxy S III - All Updates

On 23 April, Samsung begun a countdown for the next galaxy with an anagram.

Yesterday, the countdown finally stopped and a teaser for the upcoming galaxy was posted.
SUMMARY OF VIDEO ACCORDING TO ME----
The video begins in the wilderness showing a distant city, all lit up in the night. The camera then zooms into outer space along with text that reads ‘Where a galaxy fits perfectly into your hand’. This is a subtle hint that the phone won’t be as massive as the Galaxy Note or possibly, the Galaxy Nexus. I have a feeling Samsung may just stick to the 4.3-inch screen but with a much higher resolution. This makes perfect sense and I hope they do that.
The camera then pans out across different galaxies along with another line, ‘Your view of the world grows even wider’. This could hint at the aspect ratio of the new phone. Any Other Guess! Anyone.
Then, it goes deeper into the universe and text appears, "AS YOU GAIN THE POWER TO EXPLORE IT FREELY & SWIFTLY', this time i'm cluelss.
Here comes the funniest part, the iSheeps, which shows a herd of sheep and the line, ‘…everyone else’.
The video ends with the Samsung logo and those very same blobs of metallic paint we saw in the invite. This definitely hints to the type of material used in the chassis of the S III or if not, at least the colours it will be available in. Sadly, at this moment, we don’t have any real clue about the phone itself and looking at how Samsung is hyping their next-gen Galaxy phone, I really doubt those leaked pictures are the real deal.
It appears as if Samsung is trying to throw us off the track here into thinking that the GT-I9300 is indeed the S III, which it isn’t (at least, that’s what we hope). Only a few days are left for Samsung’s Mobile Unpacked 2012 event which will take place on May 3, so see you then.
So we let us suprise. Wow !!

I voted "don't know" it depends on a number of factors, it will have to beat the SGSII in every department for it to outsell it, price too will be a factor, many countries are in deep recession and many people cannot afford the luxury of shelling out big money on a smartphone so i hope Samsung don't vastly overcharge, €599 is far too much this is the figure that was given on the Amazon German website

I don't necessarily love that.
....It's just that Samsung is clearly the front innovator here.
As soon as they step up product manufacturing quality and get their commercial vector to focus, they will be on their way to absolute "portable communications + media devices" market dominance (...they may need to get someone new to achieve that focus...).
Myself, I am thinking about this:

Flexible is one thing but can a crease be made in the display by accidentally folding it?
My wifi 7.7 finally came in yesterday. Thing is leaps and bounds over the Nexus 7 I had. Screen is absolutely superb and the speakers are great. Best part is I dont have to worry about it falling apart in my hand like that dam Nexus. When I got it out of the box it was on HC but immediately flashed up a message for the jump to ICS. Im really surprised how smooth it runs on ICS. Ive tweaked it to my liking and disabled some of the crap. But all in all im extremely pleased with it.

Considering my N7 was 250 and my 7.7 was only 270 through Verizon with mobile data for $10 a month with no contract plus a way better screen, better build quality, and looks way better totally worth it. Tegra 3 isn't all that. I don't mind the lack of development so much but I really wish samsung would support this like it really should. There are tabs still being released as new with similar hardware specs and have jelly bean and will still get updated. This tab really shouldn't of had HC out of the box when it was released IMO.

It's pretty incredible, isn't it?
I laughed at the advert part of that samsung thing when the guy puts the tab on the table with the flashing lights on it.

Canadian release April 8th? Who's in?

I'm with Wind Mobile (who's vague as an abstract painting about their release), but they're only giving out phones to new accounts.
The trick is to go to one of their corporate offices (which would be a "warranty repair centre") where they can't deny you a sale of said new device.
So, tomorrow, bright and early, this guy's going into town with the hopes that they have one in stock.
Wind doesn't lock their phones like other carriers do (not at all), so it's going to be interesting to see whether we can get full root on this thing or not (fingers crossed).
Who's going in on said device here in Canada?
Post phone lock states and whatnot to this thread! For science, and curiosity. :fingers-crossed:

Apparently the Wind shop closest to me is backordered on said G5 for at least one week, rep would not confirm anything else (still vague).
Roommate snagged one up at a Bell kiosk just as they got a shipment of camera modules in stock. He spent an hour there between the kiosk rep and on the phone with "customer loyalty" trying to get a better deal since he's been with them 10 years, and nothing came out of it other than the standard free attachment.
His phone warmed up a fair bit during initial setup and charging but he seems happy with it overall. His only gripe is -- why can't the camera attachment hardware buttons snap a photo while screen off?
I got mine - here in Manitoba.
Picked mine up earlier today with the cam plus module for free! I thought they were only giving these to those who re-upped for two years.

- But I did re-up. Sweet, fast phone with some refined MM goodness. Watch out for the edges of the screen protector.
The screen "tapers" or is slightly thinner at the edges/corners - looks like a recipe for frustration as the screen protector will not remain perfect for long. I noticed the after enabling Dev Options I have the "Enable OEM Unlocking" function. I have no illusions that anything would be this simple.....

my plan was to get the device as soon as it came out, but when I got our demo device in store, I put off my decision till hearing more about the HTC 10.
The things I have noticed with the demo at my store is
1: The module at the bottom does not line up with the device, it might not be lots but it is enough. Plus worry about the future if the gap will get bigger
2: Audio quality is really weak. After using the G4 for the last while, I find the G4 has better placement and a better speaker all together.
3: The phones "metal body" feels weird. It does feel solid but at the same time it does not. Hard to explain
Those are my main issues, now with the camera, I do like the idea with the wide angle lenses but i wish the dual lenses was to help with zoom. Also I wish they upgraded the 16MP shooter. Dont get me wrong, the sensor is great with the G4 and G5, but I would have liked to see it improved even more. One other thing I would loved to see is before the phone was even released, LG going to the different accessory makers to give them the module access so when the phone launched they had more modules.
I dont know, maybe I am just being nit picky but I think LG dropped the ball a bit on this one. My final decision will be when I get my hands on the HTC 10 and G5 at the same time.
Got mine on Friday morning. Comparing this with the G3, G4 and Note Edge I find this thing to be ultra fast. Camera is pretty good although bright, its very noisey. Audio quality is ok.
Waiting for a root method,. unlocked the oem part, hopefully we will see root soon, Cant wait to seeing v10 camera app ports and custom kernels with exposed stuff
