Change dns setting of mobile network of an unrooted device - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Hi!
I have some of the sites restricted with default dns setting on mobile network. I set Google dns on my adsl modem at home so I don't have any problem when I am using wifi at home. I would like to change my mobile network too.
I was changing easily on my HTC Himalaya on windows mobile 6 years ago:-(

You can change it in advanced settings in wifi config. This is a global setting though so effects all networks.
If you want network specific dns, dl "wifi static" from the market.
Edit: ok ignore me. On 3g networks I'm not sure

Issues with ASproxy

I've just had to nandroid restore my /system partition to yesterday's backup due to ASProxy completely screwing over my internet settings. After configuring and activating the ASProxy service, I could utilise the WiFi proxy just fine. However, when I turned off the service it would seem that the proxy settings stuck and wouldn't budge, even if I removed them from ASProxy.
Is this because my Legend is S-ON, and I have not enabled aufs? Or do I have the complete wrong end of the stick?
This proxy app has no control at all over the system partition, so restoring the system partition won't do much. I don't fully understand the problem though

Basically, this;
I installed ASProxy and set up a WiFi proxy. I connected to the internet through the WiFi proxy which worked just fine. I then deleted the proxy settings and then the ASproxy service and I could not connect to the internet at all, through either WiFi or 2G/3G.
Restoring my /system from nandroid fixed the issue.
Well, now you don't seem to have a question.
After disabling the proxy did you change apn settings?

I did not touch the APN settings throughout the entire process.

Maybe check if something's happened to the APN settings / if they have been disabled?
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Network Settings
What am I looking for? I havent changed anything?

Sounds like a network issue, you need to call your carrier.

well .. if your phone didn't need any additional configuration for APN during your very first use, then I guess, as princeasi just mentioned, you might have to check with your network operator for help..
the reason why i told tht you might have to define the APN settings is because, for me, I had to manually add the APN, username /password in order to get access to my carrier's data network ...
maybe you could browsing on this link: http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Carrier_APN_Settings#Italian_Networks
for APN settings..
that link is meant to help configure iPhone APN settings (Android has a lot more parameters to define) .. but the details shud still work with your NexS
(for eg. all settings for my carrier were the same as what were already on my phone by default.. the only thing i had to configure manually was the u/name, password and APN name)
Hope that helps...
I let it auto reconfigure everything and it came back .. not sure what happened

access to this URL has been blocked

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before. But search through tapatalk didn't find anything. I recently rooted and installed inspire-saga ROM on my Inspire 4G. Now I get an error whenever I try and browse using the mobile network. The message I get is this ... "access to this URL has been blocked" ... How can I fix this? I would love to browse off of WiFi. Thank you.

The network that provides the internet blocks certain website. You would have to phone the network and ask them to take the block off ..

This is all websites including Google. And only when I use the Inspire-Saga ROM. I can make calls and sent mms so I know mobile network is functional.

it's probably something to do with your APN settings.
Find the correct APN settings for your operator (in Google etc.) and then replace them on the phone.
Settings>Networks>Mobile Network (or something like that - I'm using MIUI at the moment.

Disable roaming

Almost all roms, after the flash, have roaming active and before I active the WiFi it uses about 0,50€. Is possible to disable it in advance? Thanks
On stock and most roms, go to settings > network connections > mobile networks and disable data roaming.

That would depend on the rom, there is nothing you can do.
You may remove your sim before flashing and then disable roaming and then insert sim back to prevent any roaming charges.
Sorry, I read your question incorrectly the first time.
