access to this URL has been blocked - Desire HD General

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before. But search through tapatalk didn't find anything. I recently rooted and installed inspire-saga ROM on my Inspire 4G. Now I get an error whenever I try and browse using the mobile network. The message I get is this ... "access to this URL has been blocked" ... How can I fix this? I would love to browse off of WiFi. Thank you.

The network that provides the internet blocks certain website. You would have to phone the network and ask them to take the block off ..

This is all websites including Google. And only when I use the Inspire-Saga ROM. I can make calls and sent mms so I know mobile network is functional.

it's probably something to do with your APN settings.
Find the correct APN settings for your operator (in Google etc.) and then replace them on the phone.
Settings>Networks>Mobile Network (or something like that - I'm using MIUI at the moment.

[Q] Turn off data?

I just received my Desire HD today and since I don't have an unlimited data plan I wanted to disable my data connection but I can't find a setting to do this. Is there an easy way to disable the data connection?
Settings-Wireless&networks-Mobile network - uncheck
That`s all.
Enjoy your new Desire HD!

I'm fairly sure there's a HTC widget to do this already on the phone?? Under 'Settings' in the widget menu.
However if not try APN Droid from Market. It's a widget not an app so long press to add it to your home screen after downloading it.

I use the "mobile network" widget to control the 3g usage.

Also if you're not going to use data pick GSM only on network selection since obtaining and maintaining 3G WCDMA signals use more battery than just 2G.

Roaming when not ?

I've asked this before but whenever I'm connected to gprs the icon at the top says that I'm roaming although I'm on the appropriate network. In froyo this doesn't happen is there possibly something I have to edit in build.prop or a ril file ?

Change dns setting of mobile network of an unrooted device

Hi!
I have some of the sites restricted with default dns setting on mobile network. I set Google dns on my adsl modem at home so I don't have any problem when I am using wifi at home. I would like to change my mobile network too.
I was changing easily on my HTC Himalaya on windows mobile 6 years ago:-(

You can change it in advanced settings in wifi config. This is a global setting though so effects all networks.
If you want network specific dns, dl "wifi static" from the market.
Edit: ok ignore me. On 3g networks I'm not sure

desire HD on 3 no internet

hi, i have the desire HD running smartdroid my network is 3 (UK).
when i use the internet on my phone every so often i receive n error message from 3 stating they've blocked the internet on the basis i am using it as a wireless hotspot or modem. now as i mentioned i am not doing either of these as i am using the browser on my phone not on any other device.
i have contacted 3 already on a fair few occasions and they have advised there's no problem with the network so it is to do with my device. they explained that the data packages they receive from my device are not valid with their servers therefore it presumes I'm tethering.
what could be wrong with my phone for 3 to stop my internet?
thanks
I've looked around and can't find any posts like this one so i do apologise if there is.

i'm also on 3 network, but have no trouble.....tried using a different browser?
A lot of sites 3 will block using the standard android browser, but simply use another browser and browse what u like. Might just solve your particular issue too.
Have you double checked to make sure tetherring is off?
APN Settins ok?
They should be:
Name = 3
APN = three.co.uk
MMSC = mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS port = 8799
MMS protocol = WAP 2.0
MCC = 234
MNC = 20
APN type = *
Everything else leave alone.
Try that.
Matt
And when it's working, install Barnacle WiFi tether from market, change the user agent in IE development to your mobile browser's, use chrome for normal internet, and start tethering away using IE!

Cheers for the replies. Tether is definatly off. And I'm using dolphin browser. And all my apn settings are correct. I've phoned three and they say its to do with phone. Is it because i have a custom from so the three servers don't recognise the data packages. Maybe not i don't know just a suggestion
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
One quick thought I'be just had. I'm using a sensation XL based rom for my desire hd would the three servers pick up that its a sensation XL so therefore having my phone down as a desire hd it thinks I'm tethering to a sensation xl
