Need Help
Hi,
I installed your firmware.
Problems:
1)While using bluetooth handsfree, after the call ends, iam getting FC error - process.com.android.phone has stopped...
2)2/3 times the phone hangs.Need to take battery out.
3)2/3 times screen goes black, hangs and rebooted.
Solution Tried:
Installed FC fix for XXJVU. Now the phone FC problem didn't come.
But the battery drains very very fast.
Pls help me with a solution.
Thanks.

plz remove the S+ prefix in the name of the thread coz it's confusing, an S+ (i9001) member might flash it and brick his device.

ICS CM9 IS still in (early) development and You expect it to be perfectly working? LOL Only thing not working there for me are MMS so looks like u flashed in wrong way? I recorded video just last night,USB works fine(u need diffrent drivers) and YT does the job. Anyway YES this one is stock+root as title says. 3 files to flash with ODIN

Looking at your phone model, you are in the wrong forum.
This is only for GT-I9000 aka Galaxy S
Yours is GT-I9100, which is Galaxy S2
So please check it on Galaxy S2 area.

What OS Should i upgrade to ?

I have updated my frnd's spica from 1.6 to 2.1 a long time ago and i'm thinking of upgrading the android version.Which do you suggest, the
[Rom] [Spica] OMG v1.22.12.10 [Android 2.1] [Stable] [Customization Updated/Adding]
what is the diff betwen this one and one of the official early released eclairs ?
or
FROYO for SPICA (CyanogenMod-6.1.1-Spica-alpha8.3)
Is this Foryo stable and usable ? (my frnd does not know anything about these things)
Better install SpicagenMod- also Froyo, it's still not a final release but it's beeing worked on all the time
I suggest SGM-froyo-BETA1-NextGeneration. It's stable, nice and Silky Smooth

He made it
Go to samdroid.net, all downloads are there.
Expect similar bugs/problems as with SpicagenMod (it was used as base)

I have downloaded - SGM-froyo-BETA1_NextGen2.2a from samdroid, but there were no instructions about installation.I tried searching, but none were for this version. Can you post the procedure to update from android 2.1 (i think it is a official samsung early release).
Present Firmware
This is what i have in the spica presently.
FIRMWARE VERSION - 2.1 UPDATE-1
BASEBAND VERSION - I570EXXJD1
kERNEL VERSION - 2.6.29
Root @ SE-S601#2
BUILD NUMBER - ECLAIR.XXJH6
I have downloaded SGM-froyo-BETA1-NextGeneration from samdroid. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to update the firmware ?
1. Make sure battery is charged
2. Root your phone- tutorial is here (samdroid.net)
3. Put SGM NextGen package on the root of SD card
4. Boot to recovery (vol down+call+end call simultaniously)
5. Choose Install zip from SD option, select SGM Next Gen package, press Home button when asked
6. Sit back and wait
HI
Hi
at the moment I'm running froyo 2.2 rom on my spica and to be honest I am not that impressed. its the samdroid mod, this 1 I think (not sure a guy rooted, etc for me)
SamdroidMod 2.0.1.alpha.8.3 - Froyo [AOSP] for i5700
so my Q is this, can I just put the rom you have supplied on my sd card then boot into recovery apply then hit home when prompted?, Do I have to hit "Wipe cache etc"? as this will be my first time applying a rom myself. Will I lose all my settings & apps etc?
does everything work l;like sound, bluetooth etc, all the important things I mean.
any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated

well,i installed the custom eclair long back on the spica upgrading it from 1.6 using ODIN softwere flasher. I guess if your phone is rooted,i guess you can just put it on ur SD and you have to erase cache and data as these are not upgrades to your version , but completely different versions.
Here is a new one from samdroid as well - http://forum.samdroid.net/f53/cyanogenmod-6-1-1-spica-alpha8-4-a-4716/
You can back up all your stuff with some softwares on the market... - Titanium Backup ★ root - Android app on AppBrain
The best for me is "Ultimate Spicaclair 1.5"

[Q] MS2Ginger 4.0 on A953 currently on MILS2_U6_4.1-22

hello all
the nob video was cute .. :good:
Now, as you can see from the title, I have a A953 milestone 2.
Stock for this moto was asia retail froyo 2.2 , then I put this MIUI ROM which is quite OK.

I want to know if I can go and install the MS2Ginger 4.0 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140839
Is said " - support for Defy, Defy+, Milestone 2, Bravo" so I assume that it can be installed on A953. If so , do I have to follow all the steps for Defy ? Or just to follow the standard procedure for installing a new ROM ? factory reset> RSD Lite> reboot> root ?
The reason I want to change is that wifi disconnects or does not connect to all wifi routers. With some, everything is fine, but the ratio is 50/50 %. All the new smartphones come with the "- wifi channels 12, 13, 14 enabled" which are not functional now on my A953.
This ROM MS2Ginger 4.0 has the channels operational.
Will this GB 4.0 drain more battery than actual 2.3.4 ?
If you know another option of better ROM that has those channels activated feel free to let me know; it seems that GB 4.0 is a bit too much for a milestone 2
Thank you for your time.
I see you read the Defy's thread..
This is the milestone 2 thread for ms2ginger.. Just read it, is very very clear what do have to do to install the rom..

Well,... I'm quite nob
Thank you again. But there are no files in the download link neither google or dev-host.
EDIT: there are files , but hard to see ..
At the step number 10 , right at the point where I try to restore the MS2Ginger4.0 , from the dev link , I get "no image file found" .
ClockworkMod recovery v2.5.0.8 is installed . which should work with *.tar files ... as inside MS2Ginger4.0 there is a nandroid.md5 file and system.ext3.tar, nothing more...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169038 those are the steps I follow.
thank you for some light
I think CWM5 should work..
But yeah you're right it should work with .tar files (I think ;o)
Only restore system and did you put the complete folder on the sd?
(There should be: /clockworkmod/backup/"ms2gingerfolder"/ -> and there the .tar file)
Sent from my A953 using xda app-developers app

wooow ... someone replied , i have the feeling of an wrecked man, that sees a ship passing by
Yes the /clockworkmod/backup/MS2Gingerfolder/ tar.. etc
I will try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497263
I have to edit / downgrade sbf from attachment "downgrade_for_bl=3.rar" with MotoAndroidDepacker, according to grayed lines, then RSDlite to flash it and then find an nandroid backup of froyo system and restore it via clockwork recovery.
I tried already to flash "downgrade_for_bl=3.rar" without editing with MotoAndroidDepacker, according to grayed lines. And it worked , I got PASS, but the nandroid backup cannot be flashed onto this SBF (unedited). So i guess i have to edit SBF first , flash it , and then , flash nandroid .
Please tell me I'm not wrong
Thank you .
"Great news" phone bricked ... not sure what to do .. i tried to flash the initial SBF " MILS2_U6_4.1-22_SIGNED_UCAMILESTONE2B1B80E1014.0R_UCXMILE2GBQWRTGB_P016_A006_HWp2a_Service1FF" with CMD prompt as Administrator but no effect.
I have boot-loop with red "M" . If camera button + vol down + power pressed Moto enters the Boot recovery . The phone recognizes the USB cable when put " ready for programming" , RSD v5.6 don't.
Some ideas ?
uninstalled RSD 5.6, installed RSD 4.9 , restart windows 7 x64 , phone in boot recovery , RSD recognizes the phone , flashed "MILS2_U6_4.1-22_SIGNED_UCAMILESTONE2B1B80E1014.0R_UCXMILE2GBQWR TGB_P016_A006_HWp2a_Service1FF" all ok . This fbs is quite a resilient bacteria.
can someone provide a froyo nandroid backup for milestone 2? ... hmm ?

I know that English clearly isn't your first language, but are you aware of what you said?
A 'nob' is another word for a ****, a todger, a bell-end... a penis!!
Edit: just re-read your first post and laughed out loud!
Yeahh ..=)) I know , u can make fun of me 'cos I'm totally stupid in this field of android, sbfs, basebands , and I have no fu*** idea on how to change properly the OS. Btw , some devs also don't speak english by heart, and the tutorials are made for this "club" where ppl are familiar with terms and steps, imagine that is quite difficult to reach the target of having a functional phone following some instructions and mind****ting errors at the same time. So ,.. I'm an android looser but I'll let you know when I'll flash MS2Ginger 4.0, till then don't watch porn too much, it kills neurons )) (...is this friendly fire or am I wrong? )

I want to start over

Hey everyone!
I've been lurking here for a while, and I've been very impressed with the roms that have emerged, and particularly the work of Pika, without whom my phone would no doubt be rather boring.
I've made mistakes, nearly bricked my phone, lost my IMEI, overclocked it too far, all sorts of fun stuff that usually turns out to be the best way to learn new things.
Currently, my phone works fine, but I've got an itch, as I often get with computers, to wipe everything and start again, to make it as fast as possible.
This is my current setup:
Model: U8800pro
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: 404029
Kernel version: 3.0.8-perf-g4fc0f23 [email protected] #1 Tue Oct 16 13:37:27 CST 2012
Shendu Mod version: ShenDu-U8800pro-v2.0.4-121016
But I really can't figure out how to go back. Every single stock firmware I've downloaded, causes an error when I try to install it (using the dload on an sdcard method). Does anyone have any ideas how to revert all the way back to Froyo (or GB would suffice I guess, but of course I'd like to take it all the way back and start completely afresh).
Thanks for your time.

Just use the stock dload method from huawei but use the usb cable to power the phone, with the battery removed.
That should stop the error with flashing.

why don't you update your kernel from 2.2 to 2.3? And I think 4.1.2rom is not fluency for our defy . if you have the kernel 2.3,you may update to kitcat~
update your phone . you need pay attention to the following list .
1.Use the software named RSD,the file is sbf ,sbf will change your bl,so, you need to know what's your phone bl;
2.you need to now what's your defy's lens,it's red or green;
3.you need a rom which is .zip some rom don't need to think about the kernel but someone discriminate.

Xperia Neo V - Some Questions - Please Answer - Posted here as no one is answering in

Posted here as no one is answering in Original Sub Forum ,
Hello , I am a Noob ,
I have a few questions ,
My Device
Xperia Neo V
MT11i
Android Version:
2.3.4
Build:
4.0.2.A.0.62
Kernel:
2.6.32.9.-perf ....... [did not write the entire thing]
I never updated it ,
Now , I want
1.Make a Complete Recoverable Backup of my Current OS (2.3.4)
backup my original firmware , and stock OS . So that if in future i want to go back to it , i can just use that to go back . (i hope i am able to make you guys understand)
As far as my knowledge goes , i should need TWRP Recovery , or CWM Recovery or something similar . Correct me if i am wrong .
2.Unlock the Boot-loader and Root it.
3.Install Last Officially available update , Manually and Try it out
Which is the last officially updated version available ?
4.If i Like it then OK , if not then
i will Install other Custom ROMs or CM13
Q1. i heard that Many Custom ROMs dont have FM and Camera Functions ?
Which Custom ROM has all the functionality as the Stock One ?
and is based on most updated version of android ?
5.KERNEL.
I just CANT understand this one , please help me understand it
Does any of the above need the kernel to be replaced ? by some other kernel ?
I dont have much knowledge of kernel
...................................
Other Questions:
1.Why we are Flashing both .562 kernel .587 kernel one by one ?
Shouldn't we need only one ?
2. Can i update to Latest ICS via PC Companion and then root it ?
Will it affect anything ?
3.
Quote:
Disadvantages
1. Warranty is void..gone.. ---------- No Problem
2. You cannot update using PCC or SUES( if you try them..then u'll get a message saying that the software is modified and it wont proceed) ---------- No Problem since no update will come in future
3. No more DRM(Digital Rights Management)..things like Trackid, music like..etc - I like TrackID , but TrackID works with any mobile isnt it ? so what will change ? in Track ID ?
And which Custom ROMs require Unlocked Bootloader ?
Does CM Require it ?
Please help how can i do these and please educate me about kernel too .
P.S.
I tried posting this before in the [NEO/V/L Q and A THREAD]HELP THREAD (N00B friendly) Thread but No One Replied
Very Sorry i posted it here
i already tried the other place

I (still) own three of these phones: one MT11 and two MT15 models. They were good cheap phones. Sony is my favourite. Highly customizable. The dedicated forums are still available I think. The problem is that these phones don't have the ability to run modern applications. All the developers have moved on. If you don't need it as a daily use phone, it would be good to use it as a learning tool for flashing roms and skinning it. It takes a lot of time to read through all the posts. But the info is all there. Maybe someone will answer your questions sooner or later. Good luck with it.
U jst need to unlock ur bootloader and flash a custom kernel with recovey and flash ur desired rom ( there r some good one life miui v5 etc and aosp developement was prety good too at its time)
If u can manage to find the ftf files of orignal stock roms 2.3 & 4.04 u dont need to worry about any backup u can always roll backup to stock.
As far as my opinion go 2.3 is the best rom with good backup and smooth os battery suks on other roms.
Hope that answers ur questions
Currently my main problem is that the PC cant recognize the Mobile (Xperia Neo V)
the drivers that automatially got installed never gets installed without error and i still cant find out the reason , after a few tries now the dialogue box of installing drivers does not appear at all ,and the PC cant recognize my phone ,
Where can i get the best working drivers for Neo V ? (MT11i) ?
If any one of you have it please give a working set of drivers for PC Smartphone connectivity
and another odd thing that i noticed is that
the PC Companion that comes with the phone and gets installed when connected is
Basically as follows
Folders:
Languages - (28 Folders Inside)
Drivers - EMPTY
Graphics (2 Files - Graphics.zip, NewUI.zip)
Files:
Autorun.inf
Startme.exe
Is it same for you guys too ?
Why is the DRIVERS folder Blank ?
I think it should not be blank

There should be a drivers folder in the flashtool folder. Give THIS thread a read too as you're trying to run before you've even learned to walk.
