[Q] Cracked Screen - Thrive General

my 2 yr old dropped it and it is cracked, for the prices that I found for the screen I can buy another tablet and I don't wanna tackle the repair on my own. anyone have any clue where I can get a replacement screen and have it repaired?

The price went way up on the replacement screen. I have not seen any cheaper options. There are some shops around that replace screens, you might try one of them.

Cracked Screen Advice needed Please

Hi i have had my M5000 for ages now and i thought that i was always careful of it, untill i got sloppy and and it in my pocket while moving PC's around. To my horror i found that i had cracked the screen quite bad, the touch screen still works over the cracked LCD.
I checked my insurance and its gonna cost me like £45 excess to get it repaired, I know this isn't much compared to the price of a new phone but i was wondering:
Does anyone have or know of a cheap replacment screen i could buy instead of claiming on insurance (because i know if i send it for repair on the insurance then im not gonna had the phone for 2weeks at least, where i can just replace the screen in an evening).
Thank you for any help and advice in advance
Hi,
Just had an MDA Pro screen replaced by these chaps in Wimbledon:
http://www.xdarepairs.co.uk
Cost quoted was about £110 +VAT + Postage fitted, or £90 +VAT for the part on its own. All in, the screen, including fitting, was not much more than the screen on its own from ebay.
Posted to them on Tuesday at 16:45 and received back on Thursday at 08:45. Working beautifully again.
Not had any luck finding a screen cheaper than this
May be worth trying to see if insurance can get screen repaired through them, as it only took 40 hours from posting it to getting it back again.
Brilliant, Thank you for your reply, i will suggest that to the insurance when i phone them for the refit.
Thanks

Broke my glass and have a question!

Greetings,
I was wondering. A few weeks back I broke the glass on my HTC HD2. It was only the glass, because the screen and touch capability was working as usual.
Sent it in for repairs same day as it was broken, and this is week 3 now, and they are still waiting to get the parts for it.
Also they told me that they could not just replace the glass, but they had to replace everything, including the LCD and all. Is this correct? Because it's getting quite costly for me, since they estimated that the repairs would be around $420 / 2500NOK / £280.
Is this true? Do you have to replace everything? Or are they just saying it to earn some more $$$. I'm guessing they're not paying that much to buy the parts.
They have to because from what I have read, the LCD is glued to the digitizer.

Is this what you are looking for?

How did you arrange repair? My brother has cracked his screen and had it replaced under insurance, the company have suggested he get it repaired as a back up or sell it.

that is simply robbery. TMobile US is selling brand new HD2's for that price. can't you find another service center?
On ebay a digitizer for touch hd costs about 50 €. the lcd display alone wouldnt be that expensive too i think.

And even in the store that other guy gave you the link to there is a huge price difference to the price you were told to pay.
For that price just buy a new one and save that for pieces
It sounds expensive to me. I saw iPhone screen repairs advertised for £39. It's not the same screen, I know, and there are more iPhones around, but I'd expect the cost to be similar.

cracked screen

hey guys, had a case and screen protector on my phone and it still seemed to crack. i have a nice crack on the top left corner. the touch screen still works and everything is fine. how can i go about fixiing this besides having to pay my $150 insurance deductable to get a new one. thanks in advance.
you may want to check to see if there are any stores in your area that focus on electronics repairs. My friend shattered her screen and went to this little privately owned shop, they replaced the screen for her (she had a back up broken vibrant) for only $30. I'm guessing it may be more if they have to order the screen themselves, not sure. But it may be something you could look into

replace glass

anyone know how i can get just the glass replaced on my tab? In canada would be better but I suppose the us would work too. I could probably manage to find someone to replace it just need to get the glass in my hand. I searched on Ebay and the web in general, but nothing specific to just the glass.
I'm also curious about that. because mine is broken and I can not find anything. only full screens. but everything works just the glass is broken

3 Left. Looks like the damage will be $145 usd shipped to a U.S. residence, add another $20 bucks or so to get it into Canada.
wow... it is very expensive... i think buy death iconia will be better rational option
Acer charged me $200us to replace the glass, they also replaced the entire housing as part of the repair. I found it a better deal than spending almost the same to do it myself without the new housing...

Is it bad to use fake replacement parts than originals?

I have a cracked screen on my s7 edge and need it replaced, the touch panel and lcd screen is fine just the glass needs replacing. Been calling alot of places and the prices range alot. A couple places have a real good price but said the screen is a fake not genuine but they have good reviews from the public. The genuine parts are soooooooo expensive but I cant trust them because they are local mobile shops not a samsung shop so do I take the gamble or not on them?
I cant take it to samsung because I bought my phone overseas and didnt know stupid samsung have a policy only repair from the country of original you bought it, so so dumb I was willing to pay them anyway to fix it whats the difference take the money so have to resort to local mom and pop shops in my city. So just wanted to know if anyone has replaced screens with fakes and if any issues, as long as the touch works just as well and they dont mess up my screen resolution or colours which i doubt they will I think I should be ok right?
Go with only glass replacement. Its just glass...
I've never seen not genuine lcd for s7 edge
New lcd cost about 400$, glass about 130$ in my country, so its simple math
awesome thanks, the glass samsung said on the phone was $220 but in person they wanted 340 but couldnt do it when they realised I have the international model so they turned me back. Everywhere else I ask cheapest glass I can find was 260 and most expensive was 500 which is crazy just for that. Guess youre right its just glass best bet to go with it than spend wasted money. The places with "genuine" parts want 360 and again iffy if they are real or not
