[Q] Updating apps on the TPT - Thinkpad Tablet General

On my phone I get either automatic updates or a notice to update.
I've had 3 in the last day on my phone but no way I can find to do the updating on my TPT.
How do you update the aps?
Thanks,
Shofar

Mine updates pretty much the same as my Nexus One. Market notifies when update is available and I click update and it downloads and installs, asking permission usually if I want to update. If it doesn't find updates, try opening Android Market and selecting "My Apps".
It should show updates for the apps that have one.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
PS. If this doesn't work, you could always try going into Settings > Applications > Manage > All > Market > Clear data.

The statusbar, bottom right, will have the Android or Amazon Market icon when it finds updates. If you set the programs to auto-update then it will just say x many updated, and you can click for details. If the apps aren't set to auto-update, the icon will open a list of available updates for you to approve.

Sometimes the checkin does not work correctly.
The easiest way is to open market and select my apps from top bar.
Any available updates will show and you can click to update from there.

Fail to install
I have seen a case where apps sometimes fail to install the first time, and you need to go to my apps in the market and click install again. Perhaps this is what op is referring to. Haven't seen this since the update, it may have been fixed.

cant see updates

so I have been having a small problem for over a week now. in the notify bar it says there are updates available, 8 atm. but when I click it, it does bring me to the market downloaded menu (like always) but I dont see the programs that have an available update. I opened all programs from the same menu, but non have the update option.
any solutions?
I still have the problem, anyone?

What's the point of Auto update?

Just looked and found a notification saying "Update available for Google Maps. Manual update required" This when I had the auto update checkbox checked. Seems a bit redundant to me.
i belive that is the "automatically check for updates"
i've yet to see a feature for the softwares to automatically install updates without your confirmation
you just need to go to Android Market and click on the apps that says "update available"
then it does everything else automatically
It is something you can look forward to in 2.2

i'll definitely not check that box after this incident

I would never want apps to auto update themselves. Just imagine an app like Navigon deciding to randomly download a 100 MB update while you are away from wifi. Or even worse an app auto-updating to a broken version.

updated market on wildfire, now gone

Recently I had the up to date market that other devices have with the "update all" button but I was having issues with apps so I had to wipe the data and uninstall the updates on the market app, now I cant get it back. Can anyone tell me how to? updating apps individually is so yesterday..
Wait till the market updates itself? Maybe a reboot will help.
tried. its been missing over a week now and it aint even come back with the recent OTA update :/
That's strange. The latest OTA update gave me that market.

I only got it today after some tweaking. Go into the Market, then open the phone settings>applications>manage apps> market updater> force close and then relaunch Market

No it didn't, Market updated day or two before the OTA and has nothing to do with it (I'm refering to 1.37.405).
I've got a solution that worked for me (reinstalled market updates).
Open a task killer and go to settings. Enable something like "show system processes". Go back to task killer and kill market and market updater.
Open the market from app drawer or such, accept terms of use and youre done.
This worked for me.

Market Aggravating

I keep getting the notice I have updates, then when I go to the market, sure enough ,there are apps that say they can be updated, but you click on them, and no option to update. Just open or uninstall...
WTF?
Must be problems with the Market server.
I used to have a problem with Market whe I had my MT3G. Would tell me that I had an update, download it and then tell me installation failed. But the download was completed. So I had to go to the directory and look for the APK and install it from there.
The problem I'm having is that I get a notice that theres an update...but when I go to the market I have to go through all my apps to find the update

Yeah this has been happening to me since the new version.
If you give it an hour or so it will be able to update.
Not sure what's causing it.
Maybe the update is submitted and for whatever reason is shown before its ready to be downloaded?
I've found I have some issues if my LCD density is set differently than the default. Every few days I reset it to 240, reboot, and update everything, then change it back to 200.
I have been seeing the same thing. It keeps telling me that Titanium Backup has been updated. Annoying.
When i have a update from market it downloads but freezes at 100% downloaded. Then i have to reboot my evo to redownload and install flawlessly, and automatically

[fix] market "incompatable" error solved!

for awhile i (and many other peple) have been getting messages on market in a yellow bar saying that certian apps are incompatable with their device. to fix this just use lcd density or a similar app to change resolution to 160, then download the apps. its that simple and the resolution is only temp. until reboot. hope this helps!
I have a different Market problem; Telling me i have updates, then I go to the list of apps that need to be updated, and they only have Open and Uninstall options, no Update option.

Have the same issue.
The only way to resolve it is to wait a few hours.
Hell, I have some on there that have been listed for weeks, through several ROM updates

if it happens often clear your markets cache then run rom managers "fix permissions" and reboot
