What bluetooth keyboard should i get? Please help - Kindle Fire General

I have both a kindle fire and an ipad 2. Is there a wireless keyboard i can get that will work with both devices (once fire gets bluetooth).
I'm thinking this....
logitech.com/en-us/1200/8214
or this...
logitech.com/en-us/1222/8232
Does it matter? Will one only work with android and the other only with Ipad or are they universal? because I am 99% sure they are actually the same keyboard. If they are not universal is there a wireless bluetooth keyboard i can get that will work with both. (links would be great)
Thanks!

You get that bluetooth doesn't work for the Fire but are asking for a bluetooth keyboard that works for the Fire?

Huh? I am asking for one that will work for both the fire and the Ipad 2.

I'm setting a reminder. When there is a ROM with Bluetooth support, I will let you know which keyboard will work with the Kfire.

If you purchase a Bluetooth keyboard specifically with the intention of using it with your Kindle Fire, prepare to be disappointed....forever.

I don't think so.

Kinda like the SGS Vibrant can pick up FM radio? Or the Sprint HTC Hero can be used on GSM networks?
(hint: I'm being facetious - neither of those are true)
You'd think that after all these years people would stop looking at just the CPU Spec-sheet before they proclaim so loudly that a device has the ability to do something out of the box. And that just a simple tweak in a custom ROM will add what the manufacturer was too stupid to figure out...

No, they are not deluded in having hope given how much this parallels the Nook Color's example of getting BT enabled in software that was included in the wifi chip (just like the Fire). Saying it's guaranteed to work is definitely not true though, since it could possibly rely on additional power or data pins on that chip that may or may not be connected. Back on the hopeful side, given that the Fire is based on the BB Playbook hardware (which has working Bluetooth) I doubt Quanta went out of their way to modify the system board just to physically disable BT

I use the Apple bluetooth keyboard. Nice size. Can be gotten for less than $40 by buying bulk version. Even cheaper if you get a clone.

How?? It takes more than a software change to make bluetooth work. If bluetooth is possible on the Kindle Fire, I think it would already be working and featured. Is there a dormant bluetooth radio inside the Kindle Fire?

You here to make the biggest announcement since this phone came out?
Last I checked Wiimotes weren't working due to the change in the Bluetooth stack...
Wiimotes SHOULD work once CM6 comes out, but until then I'm not sure. maybe a PS3 controller? but that's a bit complex and not pocketable haha
I can't tell you when Ryan Frawley is going to release a 3.0 wiimote (or if our vibrants will somehow become able to use the old version) but I can say that in the meantime I have an idea as to how to construct something to tie them together like a PSP.
I have seen others using GPS holders and stuff to the same effect, this just seems like it would be a little less akward to use, so long as you can get your phone released in time to answer a call (or just use a bluetooth, heh).
Attached is a picture of the idea I had, anyone that wants to make it happen is free to. No patents or anything here.
Wiimote does not work on the Vibrant. Works wonderful on the N1.

Why do you think wiimotes will start working with CM6. The hardware in this phone is different than every other Android phone on the planet. This is Bluetooth 3.0. Is CM6 going to downgrade it to 2.1?
According to this post the Zeemote works with the psx emulator. I don't knowif it will work with the nes/snes ones or not. I don't know how well it works as a remote either, just remember reading about this the other day when I saw your post an thought I'd share.
http://android.modaco.com/content/s...mote-works-on-psx4droid-with-gamepro-drivers/
ziimote should work.
otherwise im waiting for CM6 to come out, then im planning on making a slimmer/lighter wiimote.
Based on the view count of this thread, someone could make a lot of Benjamins if they patented, designed, and produced a pint-sized gampad with bluetooth that would work with the Galaxy S. I wish I had the money or I'd do it myself because whoever does could make some hefty cabbage. I know I'd be first in line to buy one...I can't stand the on-screen controls for the emulators, but they are better than nothing at all of course.
Now this is worth a look. Anyone try it out on the Galaxy S?

ROFL that's an awesome idea! Great find! I will definately have to try that, its much cheaper and easier since there are hundreds of those plastic wheels running around.
Its not a hardware problem, its software. Samsung put proprietary bluetooth stack in their version of android they loaded on the galaxy s phones. Its imcompatible, it doesnt support the bluetooth mode that the gamepads need to operate properly. thats why using a vanilla rom, or a rom that utilizes the stock google bluetooth stack (like CM6) works fine.
derek how do we know that? did you take touchwiz off your phone?
i think its a little deeper than that... we can ask eugene tho... he is building a 2.1 stock rom on his phone... we could ask him to try to hook up a wiimote

I'd donate a few bucks as well if I could get my wiimote working on my vibrant. It's not about the lack of physical keyboard either, as I hated using the keyboard on my g1 to play emulators. You don't get the same feel nor same fun factor on anything but a controller made for gaming.

Just compiled the kernel from the EB13 source. I noticed some drivers for TV-out being made.. Dont want to create any false hope but maybe this release can get us some nice features.

There are tv out drivers in the old versions too.
I though maybe there had been. Maybe they can get them working in 2.2.
If you browse on your phone's root to
/sys/devices/platform/s5p-tvout
you'll find several files. Is this the same thing you came across?

I thought the device is hardware limited in the sense that the 3.5mm jack is missing the required connections to do TV-Out?
There are some people over in the dev section who felt there was a good reason to try and get it working.. After looking into the source code a bit deeper, it seems the last changes to any of the driver files (tv-out and hdmi are both mentioned) was in November. So they havent really done much to it recently.

Have a look thru the kernel config and see if it was built with that option.. I must be losin my memory thru lack of sleep or something.. can't remember the name..
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSE=y
Some other stuff might be needed as well. But as you can tell, that one is the 'biggie'

Yeah I think so.. You can usually see the mouse cursor when choosing to select text in the browser. But that's on gingerbread... so.. I don't know. I think one of the problems I've had both on my grab and a touchsmart tx2 running ubuntu is that screen rotation makes the mouse position -> screen position a little crazy! Up is left and down is right and so on.

Welfare tv out. Your xperia is a console now

Its very simple and works great on my phone.
What you need,
A remote client like teamviewer
A laptop
A tv
Set up your remote c
Software so that you can view your phones screen via laptop, hook up laptop to your tv,
Pwn nubs on the bigscreen
Also works good for phones that are touchpad only becaue your hands arent in the way anymore
How do I set it up?
I see my desktop on my phone, how do I switch it around?
Look for droid vnc server on market, it shows the phones screen by default
Easiest way to set it up would be rtfm
What about refresh latency? I've seen Droid VNC but it didn't refresh fast enough...

EDIT: just f*cked with it for a couple hours.....android side I tried droid vnc server and remote desktop add on...both worked well connecting to PC and vice versa....PC side I used tightvnc and vncviewer.....both worked well also...
BUT yeah, the display on MY pc of my phone's screen was tinted RED, and was really slow...like 1-3 second delay on everything....
there's gotta be a way to optimize this! I wanna play emulators on my TV from my phone goddamnit!
cool, gonna follow this thread. i guess you need a pretty f-ing good internet speed to get it to run good enough for fast games.

I just guessing here, but I would imagine that the HDMI out option is available just on the developers kit. During the demo of Desert Winds at E3. There was a port connection between the headphone jack and the usb port. I have to assume that port was placed on the dev. kit to allow for demo of the game during development on a bigger screen. The retail version of the phone probably does not have this port connection. If it did it would be a nice selling point.
HDMI out is in the service menu, but they removed the necessary hardware for the commercial release.
Hardware-wise it's not possible to enable anything because it's not there
eros78 is probably right, the service menu option is just a remnant from the dev kits.

Wait a sec, will the Nexus 7's bluetooth stack support wiimotes for emulators?

A guy in this thread (http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/vs2yt/nexus_7_official_google_response_no_mhl_yes_usb/) got me wondering ...
Does the Nexus 7 have a bluetooth stack that supports emulator gaming via wiimotes and game comtrollers?
I was already a but disappointed about no MHL ability. If it doesn't have a bluetooth stack that supports wiimotes/game controllers for emulators then that's the final straw...

Sense 4.0 fixed this btw I can natively use my Wiimote on my 4G LTE.
To OP: there's no reason to think otherwise. Other than previous HTC devices, most (if not all) bluetooth stacks have supported it.
If you are playing a rom that is multiplayer can you use 2 ps3 controllers or wii remotes to play multiplayer on the same Nexus?
