How would you want the Android 4.0 (ICS) update to look like? -Rumor Update- - Xperia Arc General

Since SE has confirmed ICS update for the arc/arc S, I think it is a good idea to discuss about the appearance of the firmware.
Personally, I'd like most things to be left as stock with some touches there and here to distinguish it from other ICS builds.
What do you think?
EDIT: No, this is not "just another ICS thread".
EDIT 2: A Sony employee tweeted these:

If it's really true, I'm very excitedly happy. Yay for stock Android

- New timescape version (might include timescape for application)
- Apps & Widget manager
- New music players
- More bloatwares
- Hopefully camera will be fixed
- System running faster

what happen to the camera?

Chances are it will come with the same old tired S.E U.I, which isn't really an issue as that can easily be changed.

I hope we do manage to get it rooted with locked bootloaders because after that, making it stock is easy

-Camera compression
-Shortcuts for notification site, to add music player, power control shortcuts
-New home launcher...
-better support for liveview
-wi fi connection
-faster scrolling in menu, switch from first to last app. list faster.like moving finger on dots beyond apps
-"xBass" pls. make this > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106197 I'd appreciate it, really. f* xloud, it doesnt change max loudness.

I don't think SE is that dumb to change the whole appearance of ICS lol..
why would they even do that? maybe a little touch to make it more attractive than the others but why would they make it into a TS UI? LOL makes no sense to me as the holographic engine of the ICS FW is so damn awesome & sleek :O

I think it would be great if sony put its touch in the interface while keeping it ICS
look in general.

Camera compression is the only adjustment I care about. Make it better or lose a customer

Full blown SE customization.
Stock android is boring (at least for me)

- Hardware accelerated graphics -> smooth, lag-free scrolling and navigation !

Never in my days will I understand anyone who thinks the left is better UI design than the right >.< But each to their own I guess

I like se one over stock gingerbread .but ice cream?iam not sure

I hope and think SE will combine their amazing UI design skills
with ICS.
ICS is not so beautiful everywhere however I think - I really do! - that some ICS UI elements are actually inspired by SE.
SE has the best UI on smartphones IMO.

I like ICS home launcher, but I also like SE's home launcher, so I hope to have the functionality of SE Home launcher with the stock launcher + SE theme.
I like some of SE functionality also like Facebook inside Xperia.
but there's things I hate, SE must, and must and MUST do something regarding it...
1- the added pre-installed apps I hope SE make them optional, these are forced to be in the phone even if the user doesn't want them... yeah make them already pre-installed but don't make them system apps so we can remove what ever we want to remove.
2- The Home launcher & browser both should be Hardware accelerated, and Home launcher should be loaded in Memory all the time, and make the browser have this option also.

One of ics new features is disabling any system app so it looks like we won't have an issue

Erm, you've got to be joking?!! The Google ICS image on the right looks like a cluttered, cramped and confusing mess. The SE image on the left is clear and simple. Also look at that pointless big grey bar at the bottom of the screen on ICS - what an absolute waste of screen space.
I also absolutely hate the way ICS on the Galaxy Nexus wastes screen space for those pointless software Android buttons. Slimline tactile buttons as on the Xperias are a superior solution.

I'm not sure whether you can already do this or not in ICS, but I think there should be a way to add labels to pages in your app tray. I see Google has added tabs for "Apps" and "Widgets", but I think this is a pointless change. I don't need a Widget tab, nor do I want an Android Market tab (it's there for no other reason than Goog£€ making sure to promote its ridiculous 30% cut on app sales). What I would like is the ability to create custom tabs to group my apps (or, alternatively, the ability to create folders) in the app tray. Ironically, Google have moved to SE-style side scrolling for apps, but with custom tabs vertical scrolling would actually look better!
I would also like companies like SE to neuter Google's power a bit more. I simply do not trust Google (I think it is becoming too big, powerful and "big brother" like) and would like SE to add features such as the making it more configurable what data Google receive, and reduce the dependency on Google services.
I also wish SE would stop forcing Facebook on users, and allow users to remove the Facebook app and all Facebook features - not only is the Facebook app badly written and a CPU and battery hog (which runs in the background even if you sign out), Facebook is another company that I do not trust at all.

I have to agree with Paul. I'm not a big fan of the ICS UI. I particularly don't care for the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen. I prefer a clean, simple look. Albiet I haven't used a true ICS ROM, but I have flashed ICS themed ROMS and don't like it all. Call me a creature of habit, but I have no plans of installing ICS when it's finally released.
If I've helped you in any way, please click the "thanks" button.

I forget to say,
1- Add support for USB-OTG Mass Storage, and please for any newer phones, even if you will add large internal memory ( like 16GB ) add also a microSD slot, it's a must, and AFAIK missing the microSD will mean no USB-OTG Mass Storage...
2- Support WiFi Direct

I don't know if you're aware, but when ICS comes to the arc, or any other device with buttons, the soft buttons are disabled and it functions as normal.
Also the ICS themes for 2.3 are not at all a fair indication of the user experience. Most of the joy of ICS is its the first version of android with some degree of descent UI consistency.
I agree, the SE overlay is the best android 2.3 interface around. But android 2.3 UI sucked, it was a mess of aged, inconsistent graphics design. Sony took it and built an aged looking but more consistent UI design. Google have actually gone and made a stock UI in ICS that looks stylish enough to stand out in this world of simple, modern interface design.
But as I said, each to their own I guess I for one will be updating as soon as possible, ICS brings so many great new features to the table, as long as Sony doesn't spoil them, I think it's going to be a great update

is wp7 boring

now that i got a chance to play with wp7 oon the hd2, i find the os boring. i do say thats it is and is not like the old winmo.
not the same because the ui is different.
seems the same because when you open the windows folder, it takes a while to load.
os seems pretty fast but how well does it do with lots of apps being loaded? im not too fond of the tile interface and the straight in line icon/apps. seems that if you have a lot of apps loaded, the single list will just get longer and that just looks dumb.
not looking for fight or argument, just what are your thoughts are with wp7 running on your hd2. i personally wouldnt but a wp7 phone as of now.
i do think the hd2 is awsome because we can run several os's.
Very boring, but that's my opinion
Its very basic because its very young.
M$ have said that they are working on allot more user customization. Stuff like the apps page will obviously be changeable at some point, hopefully in next update, if not its plain retarded.
Im currently dual booting WP7 with Android as I cant see me having it as my daily driver any time soon.
PS. This is a WP7 discussion so it should have gone in the WP7 general forum.
Ya I was not very pleased with M$ for some silly reason picking the horrible tile BS. I mean you want to have something nice looks good hell the whole 6.5.X base 29XXX was stable.
But the biggest thing M$ did was drop the legacy support and dumping CE now they can build it based on their own guideline which they outlined for WM7 spec, kinda like stole the play from Apple.
Would you want something like this?

This is WM7 on HD7, who would you take this?
Sorry M$ you did epic fail on building main screen user env. Maybe HTC should have stepped up and provided SenseUI over the tile BS and not make Sense dock though settings.
At the moment?????? Yes...It's very clean and user friendly but it's very boring... i switched to Android before 1 week until something new will come out!
only opinions....
for me this is the FIRST wp7 rom on hd2 and is a lot more functional than the android first ones....
the interface can be boring using it for a long time, ok, the same with apple...but i'm sure HTC and XDA can do a better work on the UI, hoping in MS update too..
i'm still of the opinion that is good for daily use. for me the essentials are phonebook, sms, email (very good), internet (android better for now, waiting for opera)
To me the biggest problem is the limitation of the UI.
Okay, maybe it can be funny the first 20 Minutes you used it, but after that????
I'm a big fan of personalization. and ok let be clear to me changing the color from Green to blue or orange isn't a personalization. I'm just missing Sense, (the big force of HTC)
To be honest except the Hardware look what is the different now between Samsung/HTC/LG/... WP7 versions? Yeah right no different.
I know everyone will saying it's new.... Yeah it is but at the other side, Windows don't tolerate that 3th users changed the UI. So, this means no Sense
Apart the fact it's running fast and stable. Yeah it border you after 20 Min.

LOL now that made me laugh, as I been saying long before WM7 even came out M$ sure thinks users are retarded or something as they designed this UI for 5years old? Its like they keep digging the hole bigger and bigger while being in it. I mean WTF they post to compete with AOSP and iOS with BS like that?
"I am WM7 look I have 4-5 tiles that moves, keep looking at it as it will move, oops BSOD" lol
Windows 6.5 was 100 times better in my opinion, and that even sucked. Long live android.
i have to disagree with everyone i suppose.
I dont think wp7 (not wm7) boring at all. In fact i think Android is very boring and outdated. I mean wm6.5 and Android just feel from ancient history when compared with wp7. I have wp7 more than a week and certainly not's boring. Its way smoother than Android. But i mean WAY WAY... smoother.
metro
actually it looks awesome on my omnia 7, less so on my hd2 coz of the washed out colours. I think its a great alternative os look. Im looking forward to folders coz the scrolling list of programs is getting to be a pain. love the sharp frill free magazine look which seems very 2011, all those rounded icons and faux shine fade of other ossers remind me of vista. plus its quite a popular look when yours eyes arent as sharp as a 20 something.
I dont bash other os.s. when youre locked into a 2 year contract people get quite attached and defensive of their phones.
I love the feel of wp7 compared to android. For everyday use of texting and calling I prefer it, but for more app intensive stuff I dual boot android. The UI of wp7 just works.
I think for thinkerers like most people here ANY OS that you can not pull down and build up ten times daily will be borring to us. Our phones have become our major toys. Before I moved over to WP7, I was flashing MDJ's Gingerbread every day, modding the battery icons and such stuffs. I can not do most of that with WP7 and it is a bit annoying.
But I think WP7 as it is now is already much more functional for what really matter in a phone, sms, email, contacts, social networking than IOS and android. The mostly text-based interface is clean, fast and readable. I have used all the rest, I think this is the best.
i like it. Actually all my phones and roms i used since wm5 and android i always prefered the closest to stock roms. I dont like funny things, collorful icons or "amazing" backgrounds...i want responsiveness, pratical and easy to use UI. No lags or bugs because i ****ed all the UI with random customizations.
And IMHO the problem with ppl saying its boring its because we dont have too many apps yet (or at least really useful apps) that uses tiles at their maximum potencial. So instead of dynamic icons on home screen you end up "watching" big blue squares or whatever is your color profile. Tiles is like widgets but better. One of the things ppl like android is because of the widgets. Afaik you cant do that on iphone (which is a REALLY boring device).
=]
Can't really complain much knowing well WP7 came out what 2-3 months ago (officially not the betas). Honestly I love it & this is coming from someone who went from an iPhone 2G/3G/3GS to a HD2. Yeah is missing tons of features that both Android/iOS have (background apps, copy/paste/tethering you get the picture). But so far I love it next phone I buy will most likely have WP7 on it
Found it boring at first but once you actually get involved with some of the non stock apps then it gets interesting.
I much prefer the way the UI works to Android although, as others have said, more customisation would be good.
Am now dual booting WP7 with Android (mainly for Wi-Fi tethering) but am using WP7 as my daily OS.
My first thoughts on wp7 were indeed along the lines of it being boring or suchlike, but now I've used it as my main phone for a week or so I'm liking it more and more, and definitely more than I thought I would like it.
On the whole, it works very nicely compared with winmo or android. Admittedly the androind nand installs were TONS better than the SD versions but wp7 just feels clean and uncluttered, and normally I like clutter.
The weirdest thing is that the thing I loved most about winmo (the ability to tinker as much as I wanted) is actually something I'm mostly not missing as this os just does a good job with a few exceptions.
I love that the AD2P or whatever it's called works really well with bluetooth, the wifi doesn't eat the battery alive, and things like that.
What has surprised me most is the fact that while I had zillions of app shortcuts on android & winmo, I currently have 24 tiles. That sounds a lot, but it flicks so easily & smoothly through that it's barely like you have to do anything. That's a mix of apps/contacts/settings/and favourite pages. It's made me realise that most of those countless app shortcuts I used to have just mostly never got used in reality.
BUT, there are things that drive me ****ing nuts with wp7. Maybe they can't be done yet, or maybe they can and I just don't know how...
Font sizes - on emails screen. It's WAY too big. I'm not a dribbling imbecile so I can read a font smaller than 22point or whatever it might be. I want to change it.
Email settings - haven't yet found one for data size/download sizes per message. Sure it must be in there though.
Contacts - you should be able to customise the display of them. The layout is stupid as you get big font for the names but tiny for the numbers. If you're in the car it's impossible to read what the number is against a contact for instance.
Apps - not enough, but we all knew that would be the case.
Tiles - not a big issue but it would kinda be nice if you could vary the size of them and the style a little. I'm not talking full on eye candy but a little extra visual bling wouldn't kill it.
The multitask thing. I want a call recorder and I understand it's impossible because of no multitasking. That's not good enough, and it's annoying to close my music playing while I go do something else.
Sounds a lot but mostly they're minor gripes and it's proving to be way better than I actually remotely thought it would be.
I'm hoping in due course that the uber clever tefal heads and boffins on here will be able to make it look a little prettier and address some minor issues, but it's doing well for such a new player I think.
I know WP7 is very new and look at Apple with the Iphone, no bluetooth, crappy camera etc when it first came out. WP7 for me has richer and more useful applications. I mean, flicking from page to page for BBC Mobile or ITN app is very pleasing and for me, better than Android.
I think what everyone is looking for is more customization. Not just changing colour of the panel but adding your own patterns, background image throughout and not just boring black or white. For me I would love folder options in applications layout and the ability to choose folder graphics or pictures. End call button being more big and bold, better internet explorer, damn is that just pants. I would also love more usability with press and hold user interface as well. Adding another layout than just panes, swipe right for applications but also swipe again for widgets so you can truly customise.
i think now Android has the edge but in time, if Microsoft listens to what people actually want then WP7 will be the phone to have.
I personally love it, but I am a 2 years Xbox live gold member so I am slightly biased in that direction.
Out of all 3 OSes I have used, WP7 has the most consistent UI across all of them, It's minimalistic without being condescending and is very robust out of the box.
Android I needed an alarm clock and alternate music player and Windows Mobile was even worse.
Don't get me wrong though, Gingerbread was awesome and I loved GTX Sense on my WM6.5.
It all comes down to preference really. Windows Mobile for tweakability, Android for updatability and adaptability; and Windows Phone for consistency, gaming and eye candy.
in it's current form is simple and a little bit boring.

Quite Disapointed with first ics leaks

I was expecting ICS was gonna be a huge difference on Note considering it's tablet and phone and ics is made with same motivation one os for both tablets and phones. I feel quite disapointed with first leak roms as you cannot even recognise it's brand new ics till u start surfing the menu. No goodies from ics at all except for the new settings menu and browser. I was expecting a Note specific touchwiz update with new ics upgrade to make most out of ics goodies. But new ics brings almost nothing new imao with old touchwiz interface which is basically same on all samsung android devices.
This isn't a nexus device.. why would it be any different from all other touchwiz devices?

Because it's between phones and tablets. I would just like to see a touchwiz interface specific to note to include more goodies from tablet side. Touchwiz on Note as it is now is basically the same with touchwiz on Gio which has less then half the screen size. Wouldn't be great if at least we had a choice to fit more columns making icons smaller to make the most out of our huge screens ?
^ you can, its called LCD density. Rom Toolbox is the only tool that worked for me on the china ICS leak. As far as 5 rows, use a different launcher. TW is lame anyway.
A leak is a leak is a leak. It's not a finished ROM yet. Complaining about something that is unfinished that it's not yet fully functional and polished is... well, totally ignorant.
Go use Nova Launcher. And TW is meant to be simple. And judging from the sales of Samsung devices, a lot of people like TW, so it was a smart decision to modify it a little bit for ICS. Go rant somewhere else or keep it to yourself.

Don't really think its necessary to flame the OP for expressing an opinion! I too would prefer a more tablet orientated ROM, to differentiate this device with its resolution from a regular phone, as it stands its more like a big phone than a small tablet. A landscape capable launcher and a browser that can be set to desktop UA would be a start. And yes, of course we could install another launcher or another browser but that's hardly the point is it? Missing potential it is.

It is still possible Samsung will modify TouchWiz. They may have been busy with more important stuff, like e.g. making certain S Pen -- it is after all a major selling point of Note -- works well on ICS. Just give it some time. If it is still half-useable when the final ROM is released then you're free to complain.
Guess what, I bought mine cause I needed a new phone...
So it's perfect ;P
What lead you guys to believe it would be anything other than tw with ics menu. Once you install nova or something it gets a little better.
I'm waiting for tablet mode myself. I do wish that Samsung would have gave us the option to run phone or tablet mode.
I think they went above my expectations. Its better for a forest release than I thought. But I didn't expect galaxy nexus with tablet mode from a stock rom

Currently, the Chinese ICS is the smoothest and arguably fastest ROM ever made for the Note. If you're complaining about the theme, go cook up some mods. I already made my ROM look like Nexus ICS.

Agreed. As pretty as ICS looks on the Nexus I would probably end up getting bored and changing it anyways. But, what I do know is that this leak could mean the countdown to CM9 (Arguably, the greatest custom ROM) for the Note has begun. That makes me smile.
as i predicted many people *****ing about the first leaked ics builds, people expected and wanted too much from a first release, seems people dont have the patience these days to wait for a stable build as they expected ics to be amazing
this is why a build probably hasnt been leaked before because it is full of bugs still that samsung are working out
With all my respect i kindly request ops to lock this thread as the conversation gone far away from what i meant at first place. I didn't "*****"(!!) about the leaks. I didn't complaint about the stability or performance of the leaks either. My intention was just to express that i would rather prefer to see an upgraded touchwiz specific to galaxy note. For instance phone mode ui when used in portrait mode and tablet like ui when turned into landscape mode.
^ It is still perfectly possible. This is only a preliminary leaks, after all, and as I said Samsung has likely had much more important things to do than to update TW. Will they actually update it or not? I do not know, we'll just have to wait and see.

I never really liked SPB if I'm honest, Although that being said my favourite launcher so far has been Launcher 7.... So I guess my opinion doesn't matter.
In terms of ICS, All I expect is a better battery life and better performance.... From what I've heard from other devices they've all got this and it'd be great to see the note get even better through ICS.... I'm not a big Touchwiz fan so personally I prefer the stock ICS look but I guess ill just have to see....
Overall though, Its still a leak... more goodies when finished!!
And to everyone who flamed this thread.... We're all here together to try and help each other to improve our devices and our knowledge... Instead of "**** off" why not try and have a discussion on the matter... That way this community can do well

Well, now that it's out, what's your pick? LolliSense or GPE

Now that Sense with 5.0.1 is out, I'm curious to hear what people think about both versions.
My thoughts on GPE
- Love the look and animations
- Amazing dialer
- Smaller notification icons and nav bar
- Silent mode not for everyone but I like it.
Sense 6 with 5.0.1
- Lockscreen is great
- Quick settings are decent
- Dialer is still pretty bad
- Lock screen full screen album cover, that was a nice surprise
- Audio and Camera quality much better.
- Feels like the L look still needs to be implemented better (probably saved for Sense 7)
- WiFi still often disconnects for me at home and at the office.
Battery life to me seems a bit better on GPE but
I cant choose between them because im unable to pay for s-off but if i could choose gpe was my choice for sure
Faster updates better dialer better ram managment and apps will open faster also better batterry life and more materialsed ui are the things that made me choose this (i think sense 6 with lolipop is very ugly because its only an attemp to fast update.Sense 6 with kitkat is a way better than that)

Sense 7 with L will be far better I agree. Right now it's OK but you can tell it needs more work. Some parts of the UI are still pure Sense, some are a mix, smart lock is pure GPE. I think it's a good effort from HTC and it's promising but as it is today, I don't know, nice enough for me not to go right back to GPE, but

To me the GPe just has too many faults the nav bar icons are horrible the Camera app is bad the Gallery is bad the default music player is bad. the contact list is bad the multi tasking app switcher has no clear all. All the above features in Sense 6 are what make this phone what it is. The GPe should have been left to Samsung / Motorola devices.

Very good points although I don't see the need to clear out the recent list but that's based on my usage of course. The camera app is bad, it was horrible and they improved it to a "bad", still a long ways to go.

An argument can be made for some of your other points (though things like the "default music player" and "contact list" are debatable and / or complete nonissues since it's silly to use the "default" music player anyway), but the nav bar icons? Sense's nav bar icons drive me BANANAS and could be the single biggest reason that sense bothers me so much. They look completely out of place and ridiculous in every context. It's the smallest thing but even after months of using Sense I found them jarring. It's like they had a nine year old draw them with crayon and then just said "eh, good enough." They're twice as big as they should be but nothing has been adjusted to compensate.

For me it's the notification bar that bugs me, I do like that they are animated but by the time you have WiFi, Blue tooth and head set connected, that's almost a full row if icons that without Rood and XPosed you can't get rid of. GPE are much smaller and cleaner.

Okay, cause the icons are different but not that different in size, but the notification bar is busy on Sense.

Fluid and smooth User interface [UI] with theming
As people have seen, the Xperia Z2 is running kitkat with UI-theming from Sony on top. We have seen examples of android phones that haven´t the opportunity to hold the spirit of the fluid UI which leads to slow operations and people smashing phones [Dont take my word for it ] because of OEM´s doing "Heavy-theming". But then the questions is: Why theming? Because theming allows to take customization to a whole new level. And Sony has done a really great job here. But what i want/wish from Sony is to provide an update which presents an enhanced fluid UI.
Design
In the past few months websites, designs, games, applications etc are all affected by the new "wave" which is the so called "Material Design". And Google came with a remarkably revolutionary idea. As the technology develops, the design factor are also in development and growths as time goes. The Material design is basically based on flat UI while focusing mainly on animations. But before the Material design took the spotlights, some OEM´s did have examples of what UI looks alike. LG´s UI and Samsung have done a really great job in this sector. Look at screenshots/attachment:

Picture of the LG UI & Picture of the TouchWiz (Samsung) UI
I actually love these UI´s and I badly want Sony to implement this "Flatness" in their UI and get some "Material Design" inspiration implemented in their UI. So Sony please do this job nicely.
[Kudos to @fluxxis] Agree, my first wish is that they do a proper redesign of the Xperia UI with Material Design influences. The TV SideView app got a new logo a month ago which could be a preview of what's to come with Android L, so I still hope they are on the right way.
In addition I want to see more CLASSY themes from Sony. The core themes on the device are ok, but the additional themes from the app store (IMO) suck. Too much color, confusing backgrounds, non-stock navigation icons, childish themes (Mickey & Co). I would like to see more stylish, simple but classy themes. Just as an example, I like these CM11 theme https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rayford85.flat (Yeah, that's not Sony style, so they don't have to copy it exactly like that.)
I would like to see the core apps get an overhaul as well. I love the Gallery app, one of the best from Sony, but the Contacts app for example looks a little bit old. Especially Xiaomi and Huawei have done an outstanding job with redesigning their core apps in Emui 3 and Miui 6 and I hope that Sony will take a step in the right direction too.
Services and power
Android users has since a long time known the fact that custom roms which is bloatware free and customized runs in most occasions better than stock roms. And that has simply one explanation: Elements are removed. And we are not just talking apps/bloatware. We are talking about boot elements, unnecessary files, mods etc which speeds up the processing power because unwanted elements are removed. And this is where RAM comes in the picture. Even if the Z2 have 3GB RAM, i always have under 1 GB, and never have any apps in multitasking. Though this is said, the device still holds very nicely and can operate heavy tasks like gaming etc. So what i wish from Sony is to remove some bloatware and stuff to optimize RAM and storage, so we can get more of it.
Software functions
Camera: [Kudos to @fertsch] Camera Algorithms. Sony has built in a 20.7 MP camera with an f2.0 aperture which is awesome but their Software Algorithms aren't really optimized in my opinion.(Some times Color Temperature is too cold in Auto Mode or the pictures look lifeless due to lack of color intensity). Not that I'm unhappy with the Z2 Camera(not at all) but for a High-End Device they could do some improvements to them especially because they advertise the Z2 mostly for its 20.7 Megapixel Cam.
[Kudos to @Envious_Data] I would love manual focus in the camera. You cant just throw a very capable camera on a phone and not have more control This is where i think Xperias Faulter because we can create some Near DSLR results with more manual controll yet taking pictures is usualy hindered by the limits on manual whitebalance and lack of manual focus.
[Kudos to @fluxxis] I hope the camera will improve further. I have a little child and no time to play with the custom settings in real life - I want the Superior Auto Mode to finally deliver what the name promises. Right now too many pictures have wrong color balancing (more than one time even Photoshop couldn't help) and sometimes bad exposure which are my main complains.
Stock notifications and Mail app from Android L please.
The last one is my personal preference: I prefer the quick settings implementation of Google or LG. For example to get to the Bluetooth settings (common task because I own some bluetooth speakers I want to connect to on occasion) on Xperia UI I have to swipe down, swipe left, long press on the Bluetooth button, select settings. On other devices I simply have to swipe down and long press the button.

Yeah, your are right I added your point into my post. Thanks
I wish Sony lollipop update has fix functions lose for unlockbootloader user include camera quality, PS4 remote or x-reality. I think it's not fair that other brand can port and use this but xperia phone can't use it.
Sorry for bad english
LG UI is ****. Design made by a 5 year old
Why do you think that? It is actually nice
Lollipop got a lot of new api for camera so I think there will be a lot of improvement for our camera. We'll see it next month how it will be ?
Between LG ui and Sony ui, I prefer Sony, I agree, it has been made by a 5 years old designer ?. Sony do a great job for their ui, light and fast with a lot of functionality
there is any news about release date for our device ?
Yeah in February

As far as I am aware, anywhere from 01/02/2015 at 00:00:00 to 28/02/2015 at 23:59:59. I'm sure Sony have only said February. There is no new PTCRB certifications.
Technically Sony only said February for the z3. There still is no announcement regarding the z2.
Xperia Z2 sharing the same tree branch with Z3.

Sony have thier own UI with less ram usage what we always have instead those crappy LG or Samsung UI, so let`s see what Sony brings to us
You are right. They have a light themed beautiful UI. I hope and wish that they implement some flatness, material and colorful design.
I would like the camera app to be more faster like HTC One M8 or Iphone 6,they are the kings in that category right now.(Camera shutter, focus)
And I would like more speed in all UI like M8.
I'm satisfied with the design of Z2,stereo speakers and especially camera but more speed Sony, more speed !
I would love manual focus in the camera.

[Lollipop] [Wishlist] What i want from the Sony Official Lollipop Update.

Wishlist for the Official Sony Lollipop Update
A few days ago, i did post a thread on the general forum for the Z2, about what the others and I wished to be added/changed in the coming Sony lollipop update. The thread did become a bit popular and many users did came with opinions and thoughts about what could be added/changed in the next update. Therefor I felt that i want to do the same in the Sony-Cross-device forum, because i wanted to hear different opinions from several Xperia device users. So please welcome me

I love it but I wonder, Sony Devs are lazy or out of idea or some classified strategy?
Most of sony's widgets are old and the new UI look something "unbalance" unlike 4.4.4
I love the UI of stock android. I just want that Sony keep all UI from ASOP, add their icon, widgets and done.

Me either,
hows about smarter functions
e.g double tap to wake has a prevent accidental wake feature (if the proximity sensor is activated)
toucblock automaticly enables if it gets too many random non human touches (like water would do on a screen)
Dual window - you may think dual window isnt very useful but go get your self a LG G3 and play with the dual window. its suprizingly useful and nice to use.
i can enjoy music on youtube while texting or even have a movie up while im doing work on google docs, or i could be managing some of my files while video chatting or something like that.
This function using 3 of 100 People.Rather working on Fullscreen. I used it often on my S3, but now ist a unusable funkction, cause of much fullwipes.

i ment the version thats built into LG G3, i had some fun with A G3 for a while and i had no issues with dual window
though the LG G3 is a laggy nonsenstical here and there.
