[Q] Can we flash a ROM with the default upgrade sequence - Ideos S7 General

I just got the instructions for upgrading the tablet to Factory 2.2 and it just asks you to have a dload folder on the SD card and then press Menu - End and Power together to launch the factory flashing.
My question is: can we just put a Rom in the dload folder and the unit will flash it? Too simple?

No is not gone work.

you can get the dload of a different firmware and it will work that way,

Flash stock rom which is correct for your phone from SD card.

If you can go into bootloader screen (the four color screen), you can flash via micro sd card method.
Download your CORRECT STOCK ROM. Extract it, and find the fie named : RUU_signed.nbh . Rename it to : leoimg.nbh.
Turn off your phone, remove your sd card, and put it in a card reader.
Copy the "leoimg.nbh" as mentioned above to the root of your micro sd card. Before copy it, it is advisable to format the sd card and not to put other files except that leoimg.nbh.
Now, reinsert your micro sd card back to the phone. Then, press the volume down button AND the power on button, AT THE SAME TIME, until the four color screen appear (bootloader screen). This will flash winmo rom as well as replace your SPL/HSPL to the stock SPL contained in the Stock rom.
Now go into bootloader screen as mentioned earlier. And follow the on screen instruction to flash the rom. Done.
Keep in mind that if you have HSPL installed, you can flash it with custom rom.
Goodluck
Hi,
Run a task 29 (search in forums)
Then run the HSPL and change it to a stock spl
Download the latest RUU from the official site
Remember use always the bootloader menu (vol down+power)

[Q] Firmware upgrade problems

I am in New Zealand but my X5 came from the UK. There is an standard upgrade but most particularly I want to install the NZ 2degrees custom upgrade.
I have the upgrade from the MoDaCo site and have followed the instruction - both of the files, update.app and update_cust.app are unzipped and placed in the directory dload on the root of the SD card. So far so good. I start the phone with the Vol + Vol - and start button and the phone starts and goes to the pink screen. Then nothing happens at all, even after 30 minutes. Remove battery then restart the phone and it starts with the original firmware. But the strange thing is that both the update files are no longer under the dload directory. I have repeated this several times with the same result.
Help!!
Very strange...Have you tried going into recovery by pressing Vol+ and Power and wiping the phone and installing that through update firmware option?
If that doesn't work, replace the recovery.img file to get Clockwork recovery 4.0.0.5 and then try the same process.
Thanks. I'm a genuine Noob which will probably be obvious from my questions. First, I assume that after recovery, any installed apps have to be reinstalled - is that right?
And second, does the bit about Clockwork recovery imply a rooted phone?
Yes, most of your apps will be lost, in less you backup your apps with Google...but even then, some of them will be lost...I know that from experience.
CW recovery is actually part of the rooting process. For all steps involved, have a look here:

I cant go back to original rom

I update my phone to oxygen ROM last version but i have had some problems and the whole system is not stable a lot of error messages and etc...
so i changed back the recovery image to the original one then i tried to format the phone the process is done but it takes me to the same oxygen copy !!
what is the problem ??
Changing the recovery image is NOT how you go back to Stock Rom.
Download the stock Rom and copy it on SD card folder called "dload". Then switch off the phone, press Vol+,Vol- and Power for 5 seconds, to start the Stock Rom installation.

[Q] Not working install 2.3

I don't think your phone is bricked.
During the installation of the Stock Roms the recovery.img and boot.img files get replaced/modified and that's why your phone gets stuck at the Huawei logo.
Try the following:
Boot the phone in Bootloader (pink screen) by holding Vol+, Vol- and Power, format the partition with FAT32, create a folder called "image" and copy the following files on there.
EMMCBOOT - http://www.mediafire.com/?lb6ifvgk72iru4a
AMSS.MBN - http://www.mediafire.com/?d6r45q6p5gew59v
Recovery.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?57njygc8oianjac
Boot.img - http://www.mediafire.com/?6d5i0714a7o9z97
Once the files are copied, just disconnect the USB cable and remove the battery. Then boot into Recovery by pressing the Vol+ and Power. If you manage to get into CWM Recovery, then it's all good, you can install a custom Rom like Oxygen (
https://sourceforge.net/projects/u8800oxygen/files/ ) by selecting "install zip from SD Card" option.
You'll probably have to use the MOUNT functions within the Recovery to transfer the Oxygen.zip file to your root folder of the SD Card.

When you will have custom ROM installed you can try installing offcial 2.3 again (follow the guide that comes with the update and make sure it is for your phone (U8800/U8800pro))

thx dude saved my life but how can i install official 2.3? can you show me some step or should i do the official 2.3 folder into zip? sorry for my bad english
Download the official 2.3.5 from here: http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=NDM2NDk=
Then format SD and create dload folder on the root of SD card. Then unzip the downloaded update and copy update.app in dload folder. Everything is also described in the pdf that is in the zip of the official ROM
If you find a mirror for the official beta2 version then you can also flash this (beta2 has unlocked bootloader while final has locked bootloader(pink screen))

Prepairing to go full stock help! (VNS L31) Europe

Hello.
before i go full stock i've been having trouble with my phone recently.
so hopefully nothing goes bad.
I have a 1 gb sd card for my phone.
also before i flash the recovery.img and get rid of trwp should i change the file system from EXT4 to something else using trwp?
Im using EXT4 right now and im scared if i flash the stock recovery it will mess my phone up.
Do i just paste the dload to sd card and then flash recovery.img and go to recovery by pressing all buttons and it will install the dload
I downloaded the p9 lite roll back thier site
and got the dload with the UPDATE.APP file.
