[Super Tweaked][vB2.9.1 Odexed][CM7 XRON-ified][Updated 01/03/2012] - TouchPad Development

*Photo by jzen*
First and foremost there is a huge amount of credit that goes to Cyanogen(mod) for getting us Android booting up on the Touchpad. There are some small tweaks made to it to give a speed boost.
For those having issues with wifi, please click HEREor HERE for information regarding the HP Touchpad connectivity issues. PLEASE DON"T COMMENT IN THREAD OVER ALREADY KNOWN ISSUES...
Please read this page before you decide to ask a questions in the thread. While we are all willing to help, please understand that it may have been asked many times before. READ HERE

This is debloated and fast...
Changelog 1/3/2012
* Fixed Browser install
* Fixed Terminal install
* Fixed HP Printer app
* Fixed Quickpic
* Added Sportscaster (cool tablet app)
* Added ICS Launcher
* Added weather widget
* Updated all apps in Market
* This is a system pull from my touchpad with everything working. If anything doesn't work please report so we can address them. This is slightly bloated but look at reverendkjr's YouTube video in post 2 for a how to uninstall.
If you are coming from vB2.9 deodex, you simply wipe cache and dalvik, flash and reboot.
If you are coming from Odex you have two options.
* Factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik, reboot recovery and flash rom. Preferred.
or
* Using root explorer app, goto system/app and delete the browser odex and terminal odex files then you can wipe cache/dalvik, reboot recovery, and flash ROM.
It's known that the system may reboot a couple times after you set it up. Let it settle in and the reboots should stop. It's still organizing the system some. If it continues, please report it.
This is smooth as butta.....
Changelog 1/1/2012
You must factory reset and wipe all for vB2.9. Too many edits to flash on top. Also, its best to reinstall apps one by one not use backup for optimal experience. The more you wipe, the better you will be. Reboot after you set up to activate the sq mods.
Changelog 12/25/2011
* This has bloat. either deal with it, or don't download...please don't ask anymore how to debloat. This has been covered many many times.
* For some, after you set up gmail, market app icon will apear, if not, reboot and should take care of it.
* Odex app (allows you to odex it yourself)
* Google Music built for the tablet
* ICS google search
* Syndicate ICS launcher (additional)
* DolphinHD Browser
* Wifi Buddy and wifi toggle widget
* Removed Stock Browser
* Remove Gallary3D replace with Quickpic
* Odexed now
* ICS menu soft keys (stock sdk)
* Different keyboard (blue and better in my oppinion)
* New battery icons (thanks to HO!NO! CM7 rom)
(also thanks to jbird for pointing this rom out to me, team syndicate for making a sweet rom)
* Zipalign system, data, and framework on boot FINALLY!
* Increased Net buffer tweaks
* Read ahead sets to 3072
* Moved Dalvik-cache to /cache now on boot
* Updated all apks
* Market 3.4.4
* Internet Speed Tweaks
* Disabled IO Stats
* Defrags database files
* ICS Nexus bootanimation
* Tweak build.prop
* Added File Manager to support apps in system
* Tweaked media.profile more for better response
* 1% battery mod (thanks hurtz777)
* Flashable thru recovery now
* Fix SOD issue
* Default allow unknown apps to install
* Opted pngs
**Huge props to MiSfit for helping me understand and getting these tweaks working right.

Installation instructions:
1) Download the latest version either on your Touchpad or computer
2) If you already have CM7 or XRONified installed, place the above zip on the root directory of your Touchpad
3) Reboot in to recovery
4) Wipe cache AND dalvik cache (under advanced menu option)
5) Flash zip. (if you are coming from CM7 you MUST wipe factory reset/cache/dalvik first)
If you do not have Android on your Touchpad you will need to do this.
1) Make sure you have novacom drivers installed on your computer
2) Download the ROM of your choosing and rename to update-cm-xronified.zip
3) Boot your Touchpad in to webOS and mount the USB port
4) Create a folder called cminstall (do not capitalize0
5) Put moboot 0.3.5 inside cmintall folder (Download HERE)
6) put update-cwm-tenderloin-1012.zip inside cminstall folder
7) Place the renamed ROM inside cminstall folder
8) Download ACMEInstaller and ACMEUninstaller from HERE
9) unmount USB and reboot, hold volume up key and power button at the same time until it gets to bootloader mode (USB symbol)
10) go to where you have your novacom drivers and folder (usually c://program files (x86)/HP webOS/SDK/bin and open command window by holding yoru shift key and right click in that window, select open command window here option.
11) type the following at the command prompt
novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
It will install the latest ROM via acmeinstaller...
Please read and use this method before you PM me or flood the thread with how to install questions.

Thank him plenty for putting this up there...

I will definitely give this a try. Are you the same guy doing work over in 3VO? You devs make it hard for me to kick my flash habit

Downloading now.
*Edit* dead battery.

HAHA, thanks man...Yup, the same one.

Awesome. I'll definately flash this tomorrow. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using Tapatalk

Flashed it, wifi is pwnt, and the animation screen is kind of cheesy. Flashing back to CM2.1.
Thanks for the try though.

Wi-fi problem still exists for me...
*edit* ...tried wi-fi with encryption; no go, and with out encryption...no go. Tried shortening the host name- no go. Tried all of the work-arounds posted and wi-fi still will not connect.

Same issue. Won't connect to WIFI. Looks good however. Going to let it sit and see if I get SOD.
Sent from my PURE MATR1X Nexus S 4G using XDA app.

After sitting for over an hour...still doesn't connect. Sucks for me because I was so sure this was it that I didn't Nand Bluetooth's still an issue as well.

same here. WI-FI does not work and i have installed complete new with this rom.
And Superuser does not work? I have installed Root Explorer and have no access to the Filesystem.

No SOD after 5 hours of sitting with screen off.

Found the issue. Uploading the fixed one now. Sorry about that gang.
Edit: I think the issues with this are the symlinking. After testing it again last night, it seems to have fixed the WiFi and super user issues.
As far as the bootanimation, replace it...lol. pretty easy fix.
Sod issue, really sounds like its an issue with your particular touchpad. Suggestion would be to go in to webOS and delete everything and restore it back to factory then move forward trying this again.
Bluetooth seems to be a hit and miss with the alpha version. One minute I connect, the next it won't read the computer or vice versa so hope to start nailing this down.
And reflex, this has been tested many times. A quick change to the updater script may have caused the WiFi issue. Its all good now.
Thanks for the quick feedback and looks to be good moving forward.

check the 3rd post. I will get more up later tonight.

Looks ok, wouldn't mind using as an every day, of course until the next CM update, but wifi doesn't connect. Tried rebooting several times, but no go. Doesn't seem to be able to obtain my ip. Going back to CM alpha.
EDIT:
Wifi is working. I may have downloaded the old file right before it was replaced.
Thanks for this

Good to see you over here, too, Leo. I'm happy to see the TP is getting a little dev lovin', too.

[BUILD]★09.29.2010★HyperDroidSenseV1.1★EVO★Hastarin# 4.1★F ast & Optimized,Minimalist★
Welcome to the HyperDroidSense: The Ultimate Sense Android Build for the HD2!
Kernel version:
Hastarin#4.1 - Kindly built & optimized by hastarin (Check his thread for changelog and source code)
This is based on the latest Over The Air (OTA) Update for the HTC EVO. Thanks to phiredrop, mdeejay and mattc (1st EVO based builds I learned from) & myn for the Stock EVO OTA Update
First Boot Notes:
* First Boot will take about 20 minutes (or seem like it or longer) as the data.img is being unpacked.
* New EVO kernel uses the logo.rle in the initrd.gz (Black HTC Splash) that stays on while the Build "does its thing in the background"
* During setup, you may see that the "phone process" Force Closes (FC's) as a result of APN's now being Set during initial Setup
* If you rename the Buildfolder Android or anything else, DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE THE startup.txt OR ELSE you will not be able to boot properly.
If you don't like Sense, Feel Free to try my CM6 Based Build... The HyperDroid which can be found right HERE!
Features
* Deodexed
* Rooted
* Interactive and Powersave schedulers (Thanks to Hastarin)
* Perflock disabled (for underclocking via SetCPU) (Thanks to Hastarin)
* Market Fixed
* Zipaligned
* No Boot Sound
* Cool Blue Droid Eye to match the Rest of the Theme
* MattedBlues by Jabbawalkee Themed
Code:
Note: Due to its Bleeding Edge Nature, Some stuff may not work as you might expect.
Please follow the Bug Reporting Process I outlined on the thread.
Just to be sure, here it is right here:
How To File a Bug Report with Logcat:
Install android sdk
Install drivers for adb on PC
connect phone to PC
open cmd.exe
type 'adb logcat' without the quotes
start the app that causes the issues
wait for the app to close or get to the error
copy logcat contents and put in pastebin
copy pastebin links here
OR
Install "alogcat" from Market
Run it to get log until your Issue pops up
copy logcat contents and put in pastebin
copy pastebin links here
Before filing a bug report, please consider the answer to these:
1. Is the bug reproducible?
2. How do you reproduce it?
3. What is the expected behavior?
4. What actually happens?
5. Do you have a Task Killer running?
6. Are you on the default Kernel?
7. Did you restore using Titanium Backup?
Info Needed:
1. Are you using the default kernel? Y or N
2. If using a custom kernel are you loading the correct bcm4329.ko and tun.ko? Y or N
3. Are you using a fresh data.img created by the system on 1st boot? Y or N
3. Are you using the default Build Folder Name that came with your version? Y or N
What's New?
V1.1
- Fixed 3G APN's now set on 1st boot (Huge Shout Out to mdeejay, phiredrop and hastarin for helping me out here!)
- Added some Important Utilities like Term, GScript, etc.
- 240 set as default DPI
- ReadMeOrWeepInWinMoMisery Included
- Updated liblights latest fix by gauner1986
- Added Languages (Thanks for the tip mdeejay)
V1.00

- Using Hastarin#4.1 kernel as default
- Updated Maps
- Updated Street
- Updated Gmail
- Included Gallery3D
- Other tweaks and fixes
- Only English & Spanish languages Supported
Tips & Tricks:
Code:
Everything may not initialize properly on first boot. Reboot twice after the first successful boot.
Use all the defaults (including build folder name and kernel) before changing anything.
On First Boot, Install then Open Spare Parts and Disable Compatibility Mode to get Full Screen Apps in Older Apps that don't scale
Fully Charge while Device is Off before first boot, then upon first boot go to terminal and enter these (without the quotes) and press enter after every line.
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
Ensure that Keypad Lights are on when Haret is launched.
Fixes:
To fix dialer from adding 011 every time a "+" precedes a number dialed, please refer to this.
Please read through the instructions on fixing the 011 bug... Its Right ABOVE THIS Sentence.
To get data working:
1. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
2. Press the menu button and choose "New APN"
3. Enter your provider-specific information (Google for CyanogenMod APN as they have a whole list there)
4. Press menu and select "Save"
5. Press the radius button next to your new APN and you're good to go!
*Note: Data is quite picky on this build as its originally a 4G ROM and CDMA... If it doesn't work for you, then hopefully the next update fixes it.
The 3 Hyper Rules:
Rule#1 Please read & follow Instructions before reporting unknown bugs on the thread (Known Issues will not be responded to... If you're smart enough to load Android on your HD2, you're smart enough to search and read the stickied information) and not by PM... PM's will be ignored
Rule#2 If It can fixed, I will do my best to fix It... No Promises...
Rule#3 The Next Build will be released when its ready... No ETA's
Please Follow the Instructions:
1. Please read the OP... this serves as the README for this 1st build... next builds will have it included in the Zip.
2. Please Copy the HyperDroidSense Folder to the root of your SD card.
3. Run clrcad (to enable sound) THEN run haret (which will close the WinMo kernel and load Android).(OR do it Automatically by Using Exceller's Android Loader, which I highly recommend and use myself to Quad-Boot)
3. Wait about 15-20 minutes for the device to initialize
You want to use another Android loader? Simply rename the folder to Android and change the startup.txt to reflect the change... after booting successfully for the 1st time and letting the device "simmer" (e.g. "rel_path=Android")
Notes:
* Backup the data.img that comes with the build as creating a new data.img is NOT recommended
* If some apps don't look the way they should, download LCD Density app from market and change to default 240.
* The Blue Wallpaper may not be set by default... Go into /system/customize/resources and copy SPC_Wallpaper and set as Wallpaper using Astro
What's TESTED & working:
WiFi
USB Transfers (surprised it worked myself)
G-Sensor (Goodbye Freezing on PPP)
Bluetooth
GPS
Wi-Fi
PPP Data (3G + HSDPA)
LED Lights Notifications
What's NOT working:
EVOCamera Flash (kernel support is being looked into) turns pics with flash Black
Native Android Camcorder Crashes (Use EVO Camcorder instead)
4G and Sprint Specific Menus will NOT Work
Data (Out of the Box) does not work UNTIL you Manually enter your APN
Enabling and Disabling the Mobile Data Crashes the com.android.phone process (most probable cause is the CDMA origins of EVO builds)
Don't complain in the thread why any of the 5 things above don't work since its on the OP.
What could be working but has not been Tested:
MMS (Since I use WiFi only, I'm not able to test MMS Properly)
Wi-Fi Tethering (ditto)
USB Tethering (ditto)

About this Build/Release:
In the spirit of the open source community, allow me to share and give back to something I enjoy participating in--- Tweaking my Gadgets to Death... yes, to death...
I am not a developer nor do I aim to be called as such. I believe this should be reserved for the real people who do the work behind the scenes and in the trenches of kernel hacking.
I am an extreme gadget enthusiast or simply a Gadget Geek... The work I do is to put together bits and pieces of what works and what looks good to create a gadget experience that is elegant, polished, minimalist and functional (E-P-M-F).
From my HyperROM WinMO ROM roots to today, I've always liked using and sharing a ROM that meets my E-P-M-F aspirations for a gadget. Today I bring you my personal twist on an Android ROM based on the latest EVO OTA Update (3.29.651.5)
Build Features:
1GB Data Image (included)
Latest Overclocked and Undervolted Stable Kernel by hastarin
Custom Modded Theme and Apps
Useful Tools/Utilities Included and easily updateable or removable
Changing Kernels:
Want to try out the latest and greatest kernels from GIT?
1. rename zImage to workingzImage
2. copy new zImage to "/HyperDroidSense" directory on the sdcard
3. copy bcm*.ko and Tun.ko to "/HyperDroidSense/root/system/lib/modules" on the sdcard (create the paths if its not there)
I sincerely hope you enjoy your HD2 as much as I have... Android has literally given my device a new lease on life...
Enjoy the HyperDroidSense for your HD2!

i was hoping the same thing i wanna be able to dl before the site goes down for maintenance
I very like your build thank you
UPDATE: This short review is based on the release prior to releasing it to mass public. At this time, Pongster has only release to testers to ensure everything is working perfectly. A link to DL this build will be posted shortly.
---
Can't wait to try this build. I'll do a report soon.
Just Tested:
0) Use the stock data.img after extracting the folder.
1) Music does NOT studder like in Mattc's 1.0.1 evo build. I love music. It's a high priority.
2) Speed: It's fast and speedy and on par with the 1.5 hyperdroid build, however, though it chokes here and there more often.
3) Stability: Yet to confirm, but its stable so far for me. No crashes yet. Jayy got a "acore" crash. Poor you.
4) Quadrant scrore was at 1682. Nick got scores at 1700+
5) Upload and download speeds via wifi: 5.3Mb/p and 3.7Mbp/s It's good enough for me for regular browsing wifi.
**6) the stock 180dpi is very bad. everything is misaligned. i already confirmed with 3 other people (jay, nick, and robert). You must revert back to 240 for the best alignment, but for a working one, 200 "almost" fixes it.
Good build so far. but has a bit of improvements to work on.
I like the speed of it so far though
just waiting to dl another build of yours..
thanks for your great work

Changelog:
v2.3 - 2/16/2011
If you just installed 2.1, let it boot once (initial boot) and then reboot in recovery and install the update, or your phone will end up in a vibration loop
This can be installed over 2.2.
Kernel Speedmod K13B
Dialer now has message button instead of voice mail (more useful)
Moded MMS apk included. Supports picture sending with res up to 1280x800, MMS size max 600KB and SMS to MMS conversion is done at 5 SMSs (default value is 4)
Updated system apps; Updated /data apps
Changed Browser icon - hope you like Chrome
Reverted gps drivers to JPY - please report on performance.
Changed AOSP lockscreen font to Sans (check pictures)
Added latest version of MIUI player
Updated the Continuum_content folder
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif] stock_look_Continuum_5locks_circlebat.zip - removes visual and several sound customizations but it preserves the circle battery and the 5 lockscreens mod [/FONT]
Click here for the full change log and feature list
Few important notes:
For update packs from older versions, check the second post
MODEM RECOMMENDATION: Please flash JPY modem, enable WCDMA 850 (by typing *#2263# - COMBI BANDS - WCDMA 850 (FDD V)
[*]. If the star is not there, tap on that line)and see how is battery life. For me is great. If you have battery drain, you might want to do this. If your connection drops, go to settings - wifi settings - mobile networks and set the type of network to the one has most coverage on your area, GSM or WCDMA
You will have in Continuum_content folder, on your sdcard, [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]the following patches:[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif] i897_prop.zip - this will change your phone's name from GT-i9000 to i897. However you will lose access to Samsung Apps. Disclaimer: If this shall brick your device, make you break up with your girlfriend, make the cat fly, the TV explode and wipe the mankind from the surface of the Earth, I am not responsible!
The ROM was tested on my Captivate. I installed several times to make sure it behaves.
To exclude one cause of battery drain issues always flash this ROM with FULL BATTERY!
This will wipe your /system, /data, /dbdata, /cache.
Internal/External SDcard will remain untouched.
STEP 0: BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP! Use nandroid and Titanium Backup
As well please create a backup of your /efs partition as described here
1. Pull out your SIM and external sdcard!
2. Return to stock (those without 3 button combo, use this) <- If you are coming from another i9000 ROM and if you dont have lagfix enabled, this step is not required.
3. Download the ROM
4. Flash from CWM Recovery.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Old ROM links:
Basic ROM comes with K12H speedmod kernel and I9000UGJL2 modem.
This is JPY deodexed and rooted. Nothing else.

Basic ROM non wipe

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Issue list, fixes and tips:
This section is continuously updated
First, if you install a different kernel, don't blame the ROM if you have issues.
If you changed system apps (apks) or framework other than what is posted in this thread, don't blame the ROM or the addon pack for making your phone an useless piece of plastic.
If you changed system binaries (drivers, applications -non apks-), again, don't blame the ROM for temporary killing your device.
You may put up a post with your problem and with the changes you made to the OS by yourself. I will do my best to get you out of the situation but don't first rate the ROM as worse and then leave. Everything can be fixed so give me a chance!
Thanks a lot for understanding.
I cannot uninstall system apps with TitaniumBackup. Why? Because TiBu does not mount the /system as RW. Will discuss this with Joel. Workaround: go to SGS Toolbox and tap on mount /system as rw (read/write) then uninstall the applications you want from TiBu. Restart the phone and you're done.
I cannot take MMS video and send MMS with video attached bigger than 300KB what can I do? Take a look here
Mobile data sometimes not working. Fix: make sure you have an APN for your network by going to Settings - Wireless and network - Mobile networks - Access Point Names
My bluetooth doesn't work: Yes it does!
I'm using it myself.
OMG, there are no animations!!! Yes there are! you have to activate them in Settings - Display – Animations
I have high battery drain on this thing. Take a look here
I would like to try new modems and if possible know some stuff about them. Take a look here
I cannot send MMS. Make sure you have your phone configured with the correct Access Point Name and the correct outgoing server number.
Stock email doesn't work/doesn't support exchange. There are several reports that the email app works fine and this ROM was the only one they could run Exchange on so make sure your provider doesn't play with the towers configuration.
The phone is telling me that I was 50% of the time without signal. Why? This could be related to the modem. I am now testing JK4. If you have this bug download and flash UGJK4 modem . As well, make sure that you have WCDMA 850MHz selected by typing *#2263# - COMBI BANDS - WCDMA 850 (FDD V) [*]. If the star is not there, tap on that line and that should be all.
Alternative: There were reports that with JPY modem, this bug disappeared after enabling 850 band and there were no reception problems plus greatly improved battery life
I dont seem to be able to get a GPS lock on this ROM. What can I do? Check this post
What is Control Plane?? Take a look here
How to:

Calibrate battery: (thanks to TechnicR)
Turn phone off and charge till full
Start recovery and wipe battery stats
Reboot and start the phone
Use it heavily until it turns of by itself
Connect charger and turn on the phone and wait until fully charged
GPS: Here is a my tracks recording. Is short but it shows that the GPS works almost without a fault
Feel:
The ROM feels really smooth on RFS, I am surprised how much improvement Samsung made with their file system in 2.2.1.

This looks awesome. DLing now will post back with findings.
Just so ya know home button haptic feedback is not kernel related its fixed in android.policy.jar. I had it fixed with jpo but haven't gotten it fixed yet for jpu as it seems to be a little different. But if you put in an android.policy.jar from a captivate firmware, you will have haptic on the home button but a bunch of text string errors.
Just letting more people know since I don't have as much time to mess around and fix as I used to. The more people looking at it, the quicker this issue will be fixed for good.

[ROM] VEGAn-Tab Build, BETA 5.1.1 w/supplement (updated 02/12/11) Froyo

***ATTENTION IF YOU ARE COMING FROM A 4349+ STOCK ROM or MOD based off that PLEASE VISIT THE FOLLOWING LINK TO DOWNGRADE YOUR BOOTLOADER AND TNT VERSION BEFORE FLASHING CWM AND THIS OR ANY OTHER ROM****
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036956
LINK TO NEWEST DEVELOPMENT: VEGAn-TAB GINGEREDITION: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1031250
VEGAn 1.00 beta 5.1.1 supplement - Thanks Roebeet for staying on top of it!
Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?jhq1cnu5wgkg3j5
md5sum: 7f3920a3ef2dabf264bfc8550d8f6d00
List of fixes / enhancements in this supplement:
- Maps 5.1 with the rotation fix
- Market 2.2.11
- Updated drivers that should bump up Quadrant slightly, and significantly improves Nenamark scores
- Frame rate change from 50 to 60
- Replaced the Froyo keyboard with the Gingerbread keyboard
- Added Adam Sniffer app, and their keyboard as an option
Quick instructions: This is a supplement, not a full firmware. You would run this like any other update.zip, but since the changes are small you shouldn't have to wipe data. You'd want beta 5.1 as your baseline, before running this, download link is further below for the full install of beta 5.1.
I know that the VEGAn users probably haven't been "feeling the love" the last few weeks, so we wanted to at least bump you up to some of the latest changes ported to TNTL. I have been plugging away hard on CM7 and VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition and rothnic's expertise with a lot of the these enhancements are the reason why they exist right now. The Nenamark bump actually originated from our Adam testing, believe it or not.
As Per usual USE THIS ROM AT YOUR OWN RISK. We highly recommend clockworkmod recovery as a pre-req. We are only testing for cwm users.
I would also recommend a full data wipe between updates, at least for now when we reach STABLE RELEASE stage this may not be always necessary. There is a great tool out there you can use if you don't know about it already called Titanium Backup it is on the market and there is a free version. It allows you to backup/restore all your apps and even save/restore data for those apps... the only caveat I will say is do not restore any system apps (ie. apps preloaded with our roms) this can cause issues.
****The First Boot after installing BETA 5.1 will take a few minutes to catch up and will feel "laggy" this depends on how much media you have on your device for it to scan in the first time****
**If you are having issues with the new market telling you you don't have enough space to download then your SD Partitions are incorrect and need fixed** -Boot Clockworkmod, select advanded, then partition SD, 2048 for first option, and 0 for second. process will take ~10 mins ******WARNING THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTING ON SDCARD (internal) MAKE A BACKUP!!!!******
Now that we are nearing a STABLE Release here are some new links you may not be aware of:

ONLY DO THIS IF YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT G-SENSOR BEING RIGHT FOR MOST G-SENSOR GAMES & WOULD RATHER HAVE MOUSE SUPPORT BACK -- *****PATCH TO REMOVE G-SENSOR FIX AND RESTORE MOUSE SUPPORT***** - ONLY INSTALL THIS AFTER BETA 5: http://vegantab.gojimi.com/download/patch.VEGAn.BETA5.remove.Gsensor.zip **Flash this like you do the roms in clockwork**
This is a collaboration between myself, Roebeet, and Rothnic - The G-TabDevs Team.
BETA 5 changes:
* NEW KERNEL **Thank you Rothnic** We have compiled alot of new features in to this with more on it’s way at some point.
* LAG on WAKE FIX! woo hoo! no more laggy tablet after sleeping.
* CIFS support (allows mounting shared folders over a network) – search CIFS in the android market for apps
* NTFS support (this gives us the ability to mount drives formatted NTFS which is popular on Windows machines…. Larger File Support)
* Ethernet on DOCK Support (This will only work right now if the device is booted while connected to the dock to activate the port)
* ***UPDATED EVEN BETTER****G-Sensor Fix (this has been long awaited by many! Fixes most games that use the g-sensor for controls, etc.) **this is a DIRTY FIX but it works… only issue is it does mess up mouse usage… so if you are a mouse user and don’t care about the g-sensor being right for games there is a patch below that you can apply ***AFTER*** you install BETA 5.
* REBOOT OPTION has now been added to the power menu. Remember that popup menu is a scrollable menu so if you don’t see it all use your finger and scroll on down!
* I increased the DELAY for the LONGPRESS Power button to bring up the menu… it is now a full second. This has dramatically decreased the number of time the power menu has accidentally popped up when trying to wake the device.
* Added the Tablet Compatible Stock Calendar that I dropped on you guys at Christmas on the Website.
No Major theme changes, nor some of the other fixes that I have been having issues with. The next release should include those. This is the LAST BETA I believe. The next release will take some time so settle in for a bit while we work on Release Candidate 1.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Benefits to us
- Soft buttons, like TnT. But no TnT UI layer getting in our way. So, for example, keyboard replacements should work.
- Just as fast as the new builds we have if not FASTER.
- Vega build has a bootup script where we can install user-based apks, after a data wipe. So, for example, Flash is now added to the build.
- Vega firmware development is probably more active than the official TnT development, at least from the little I've seen so far (though TnT have been fairly active lately).
Known issues
- Videos are not being automatically scanned on the EXTERNAL SDCARD.
*****FIXED**** Weird orange bar is showing up in the stock Calendar app *****FIXED****
- The newest Market apk seems to have issues with any device that's been re-partitioned outside of the default of 2048. The "fix" is to re-partition your SD back to the default of 2048, in clockworkmod. Thanks to proengin for informing us of this.
Changelog
- (a2) We are using alpha1 as our "base" image, and then a modular format on top of that. So, alpha2 is a full update.zip package.
- (a2) VOLD should be fixed using a hack. 30 seconds after bootup, SDCARD2 should start working. Or, it may not work. It's an alpha.
- (a2) Vega user apk script has been added, which is supposed to add Flash on a newly wiped system. But it's spotty at best.
- (a2) Camera should be fixed.
- (a2) We're deleting some of the unneeded system apps like Twitter, Facebook, the Htc stuff in gapps and talkback. You can always add these back via the Market. The reason is to keep the image a little cleaner.
- (a2) Audio fix added.
- (a3) Added changes to the framework for smaller status bar and VEGAn boot screen.
- (a3) Added Gingerbread keyboard.
- (b1) SSL bug fixed. Also, added the latest YouTube and Gmail apps. Removed the user apk script for now, as it's really buggy.
- (b2) VOLD post-boot replaced with a mount commend. Should be more stable and might fix the disappearing apps, I hope. New Gmail, adhoc wireless support added, adfree hosts file removed (get "adfree android" app in the market to get it back), removed the Phone apks which should improve battery life.
- (b3) Mounting issues should be completely corrected, audio issues are corrected, new rothnic theme added, new Gmail and Voice apps, new Settings app with advanced Wifi (and policy is set to "never sleep" by default).
- (b4) A New Cleaner Base System Image with the addition of files from new Advent Vega Release (we can finally get rid of the hacked together Image That I originally created for VEGAn)
- (b4) New Kernel (from latest unreleased TNT Update kernel version #15)
- (b4) New Boot Logo(replaces G-Tablet on white background)
- (b4) New VOLD Binary and MediaProvider(allows media to be seen from External SD Card as well as internal)(videos are not being automatically found on SDCARD2 ATM I am working on that)
- (b4) Settings app no longer has Call Settings option or mobile networks as it is not a phone
- (b4) New Market (We have got it showing even more apps... but still not all. Still need to do the market hack.)
- (b4) Some Graphics and Performance Improvements reduces video tearing issue among other improvements (G-TabDevs Performance Pack)
- (b4) New Music Player(pulled the one from CM6.1 and got it running on VEGAn)
- (b4) framework laid for bluetooth HID(not sure if it is fully functional yet please let us know if it work for you)
- (b4) laid the framework for POSSIBLE OPENVPN support(not fully functional yet sure if I can get it to work yet)
- (b4) New Theme Improvements - Switched to a more Cyan color highlights (the previous green may be available as a small update at a later date.
- (b4) Flash now auto installs on first boot up usually after about 15 secs so the tablet can finish booting

Is there any way to have the Home button bring up the launcher instead of the Clock app? Or am I experiencing a unique issue?
HID Testing
How do I enable the bluetooth HID? I am trying to connect to my keyboard, but I don't see any option for it?
It does bring up the generic message to try "0000" or "1234" however it did not work, or do I mis understand? is this something I need to do at the command line hidd --connect etc?
Everything else seems to work great, at least what I have tested.
Thanks !
Wiped everything before install. Runs well, but noticed a few issues.
First, my power button stopped putting the device to sleep. I could hold and get the shutdown menu. Reboot fixed this.
Second, if you use the lock screen feature and try to log in before the device finishes starting up (after a power on or reboot) the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. You have to hold down the power button for 10 seconds to force shutdown. Noticed this with beta 3 as well.
Third, hacked TSCalibration doesn't appear to be proloaded to find INI file on root of /sdcard instead of /sdcard2.
Seems great other than that!
So far so good! Wiped data, cache, and dalvik then installed. Got TB and restored my Pro license, then selected apps with data (no system data) to restore. Entered in Gmail account, tested Market. Applied Swype install/hack and rebooted. Running smooth, Quadrant in the 2400+ range.
The only problem I have is I can't sync my Facebook account under Accounts. I don't need this per se, but I'd like to have them.

I wasn't totally sure I had bluetooth HID licked this round or not... I don't have a bluetooth keyboard to test with... looks like we are part way there maybe by the next build we'll have a better understanding of what needs done.

Ehunyadi: you are one of only two people experiencing this issue. I would like to know what the model number of your tablet is. On the back starts with UPC3*** etc. It seems this may be linked to a specific run of devices but we are not sure. Let me know so I can track down the root cause of this.

Now that's weird... I guess it is not model specific then... It seems like something is telling it the tablet is docked when it clearly is not. Just to clarify did you do a full data/cache wipe in Clockwork Mod after installing BETA 4?
Just trying to run through the troubleshoot list.

Then update your driver for Windows using control panel / device manager
Find where it says Android Phone or similar and update driver using these files.
REQUIREMENTS:
If coming from a different ROM PLEASE --- >WIPE ALL BEFORE LOADING
Needs a Ginger Bread Compatible Radio Pre-Installed. Recommend using MR2 Radio For Now.
Download Here or From ROM Manger for ability to select your options
UPDATE AVAILABLE - 08-22-11 Version 1.5.8
UPDATE ONLY IF YOU HAVE A PREVIOUS VERSION OF THUNDERSTICKGB ALLREADY INSTALLED
Download the FULL DOWNLOAD - 08-22-11 Version 1.5.8
All builds and Change Log
THE FULL DOWNLOAD WILL AUTOMATICALLY WIPE YOUR PHONE
This ensures a fresh install of ThunderStick will perform as expected and that there are no unusual problems between phones. Most roms only have problems because people are not wiping before flashing, so expect to loose your data (anything not stored to your SD CARD) if you are coming from a different rom or are flashing the full download.
ThunderStick Updates are not complete roms (just the MODS) and will not wipe any part of your phone and in most cases will not require a wipe.
ThunderStick Desktop Notifications and Downloader
The update notifier will run any Windows PC.
It is a simple program that retrieves data from the internet and allows you to check for updates and download them with out opening your web browser. It can run in your system tray as well and will Display pop up balloons when a new update becomes available. This is useful for users that are between ROMs, dont like using ROM manager or cant find previous versions on the net.
It will also allow you to view previous versions and download them and copy them directly to your devices SD card.

Of course, thought it unnecessary to post that since most (if not all) the GB roms currently have that as a standard. Updated first post to reflect this though just too appease the crowd.
Hate to say this, but have got about 10 reboots so far. Barely get to the home screen. Haven't had an issue like this on BAMF or Gingeritis. Make that 11 reboots.
whats this madness. For sure my wife is going to kick me out of the house since I've been flashing lots of roms today

What does this rom offer over any other rom here? I see nothing different except for the theming. Why not put up a blue theme pack in the other forum?
Like anyone else, I'm learning something new and am just sharing my work. Currently the features are basically the same, but this will feature more things as I learn them. Theming is pretty simple so this is just a starting point.

I'd like to see brightness control in the drop down menu. Media volume and a silent toggle would also be nice. Oh and congrats.
It seems like its got promise. Keep working on it will be one of the better themed roms out. I did have a couple freeze ups on it. U mite want to change the kernel that u are useing.

Honestly I've been using it all day,using GPS and taking a drive while listening to slacker and connected to bluetooth. The only problem I had was navigation voice was silent when a turn came up and listening to slacker.
Also had a FC on tapatalk not Rom related I don't think though.

[ROM]KF1 AtomicFusion v1.5 {8-09-11} BOOM! Another TeamPhoenix Masterpeice!

Final Version is:AtomicFusion v1.5
Attention to all.
I know the regulars hear me mentioning a possible merger.
Official word spoken now.
AtomicFusion will no longer be developed as i have thought long and hard about this, fact is that KH3 has be by far superior on everything.
And only having one device and no interest in running both roms back and forth I have
decided that the best thing to do is merge both projects into one.
Feeling like i need to get back to my roots here i will continue to Develop KH3
on the formerly known Nuclear thread ... and as part of the change the Rom Name is following suit...
From Now On It will Be referred To as "Fusion II"
Leaving me and you with only two bases (froyo KB1 Fusion) and (Gingerbread KH3 Fusion II)
I have spent long hours modding the incorrect frameworks and miss matching files...
Very frustrating to say the least, so the idea behind this merger is to make it easier for me to develop a quality rom that lives up to the TeamPhoenix standards and you the users standards.
I have cleaned my working folders and have pulled a fully functioning Factory.rfs from my device.
and before i start dishing out mods i need to make sure that every body is on the same page and has matching firmware on their device.
Trust me its been very hard on the KH3 build so far between Ruger and I, because what was working on my phone did not on his and visa-versa.
I admit it was my bad for working in a rush when we started and not taking the time to categorize the files properly. Sorry all.
Thank you for your understanding.
Here is the Base Build in which all future KH3 mods and cooks will be based.
Proudly presenting all my ducks in a row i give you "Fusion II"
AtomicFusion is yet another KF1 build, completely redone because AT&T and
Samsung have no idea what they are doing.-------Still a WIP-------

You need i897 GB bootloaders, no ifs or buts....
Installation Steps:
Download Atomic Fusion 1.0 odin and current AtomicFusion zip
Backup your stuff, by whichever means you normally do.
Please factory reset and wipe/clear all you can before Odin flash. And see post #3 for known issues and the fix needed for now.
Install the proper drivers for your device and operating system.
Run "AtomicFusion 1.0 Odin" in order to get the proper bootloaders. If you already have the I897 GB bootloaders you can skip this step. If you paused to ask yourself, then YOU DO NEED TO START HERE
Place your phone in download mode and wait for odin to "com" your phone. You may have to wait for drivers to be installed. Once you see "com" in odin, press start.
Once odin has finished and your phone has completely rebooted, copy Atomic Fusion 1.5 to your INTERNAL sdcard
Reboot into recovery and select "Install zip from sdcard".
Select choose zip from sdcard
Scroll to the Atomic Fusion *currentversion* and select
Once the install has completed select "go back" then "reboot"
Wait a few minutes and proceed to slowly restore your apps. If you backed up your apps with TiBu, do not restore data, just the apk's
Enjoy

Extract "atomicfusionapps.rar"
=Place the containing folder to the root of your sd-card.

Flash AtomicFusion 1.3
=Install the apps from the "AF_apps" folder using "my files" app.

=Tibu restore your missing apps (app only)
Reboot here

=Tibu restore app (data only.)
*Delete your tibu folder. (Or rename it Tibu_Bak)

Note: one time only. As now your backup is gingerbread friendly and includes rom apps.
Keep the "AF_apps" folder on your sdcard for future releases untill we all see how it goes.

Glad I was the first guinea pig for this last night. People, if after using Odin and you see the android guy with a yellow triangle and exclamation inside, just:
1) Pull battery and power back on. (should take you to recovery)
2) From recovery perform a factory reset/wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik.
3) Reboot system from CWM and it will boot right up with the Galaxy S boot screen.

Can this be flashed from Stock Eclair(Stock Bootloaders)?
Or, it needs to have Captivate GB Bootloaders 1st?
Speaking of bootloaders, I notice in the ODIN pic that it flashed the sbl.bin but it doesn't show the boot.bin. Isn't that the secondary bootloader without the primary? I'm a bit noob-ish, so I have to ask. I get nervous if I don't see both, knowing bootloader mishaps are a surefire hardbrick.
