[ROM] LT15a_U.S._Generic_4.0.2.A.0.42_CDA_1249-7057 - Xperia Arc General

Hi All,
You can download the ftf file on hotfile. This is the generic 2.3.4 for LT15a. Flash with flashtool. Then root from HERE.
Like it? Please hit the "Thanks" button!
EDIT 27-10-11
I have uploaded the firmware again with all the proper files. It was missing the loader.sin file. Now, this has been fixed and the ftf file can be flashed with the Flashtool.

This does not work here, the ftf file is named incorrectly. It appears to be missing a simlock.ta file that all my other generic firmwares have, and it fails to flash immediately. All the other firmware versions I have tried have been ok with flashtool.
This is not, please check.
Relevant error.

Uploading new FW now....sorry..

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I have fixed the issue and uploaded the new firmware with all the proper files. Enjoy!

Turn on WiFi and then go to Settings --> Sony Ericsson --> Internet settings. The phone should download the settings automatically for your carrier.

step done wrong in downlod mode fix please help

hello, sorry if im writing this in the wrong place. was doing the 3 button download mode fix and i accidently selected the md5 file into the "Phone" instead of putting it in PDA. no i got no network and sim is undected. please help
no when i check firmware, in the phone i got this
phone:unknown
anyone please?
i have now:
pda - I9000BUJM5
PHONE - unknown
CSC - I9000GTCLJM4
I think that you have to reflash again...and no mistakes this time
thanks
reflash with a rom?can it be a custom one or have to be offcial?
i have reflashed it already only with the md5 in the pda
no i have to flash it with a complete rom through odin?thanks
Depends on what you want: A stable eclair rom like jm9 or the latest froyo rom that was released today.Anyways you have to flash with odin and its only one tar file that you must put in the pda part. Some roms here at xda come with 3 files, pda, phone and csc.In that case all you have to do its to put in their places.good luck

[TUTORIAL/FIX]4G/LTE broken on some 4.3 roms

Hi.
If you have problems with LTE this tutorial is for you.
If even after entering the correct APN does not work LTE/4G:
1.Download 4.2.2 FTF file (I used 10.3.1.A.0.244) and flash the baseband ONLY.
2.Reboot without wiping anything.
3.Enjoy!
PS. This is my first tutorial on XDA and only the second post, so I still have to learn how to write some nice tutorials. Greetings
Edit: It's work on CM roms too!

Just download firmware 244 and check the flashtool as pictured here:
Code:
scr.hu/0fud/1lx8c
In the "exclude" you select everything except "baseband"
Edit:
I created ftf file
Code:
speedy.sh/6byzn/C6603-10.3.1.A.0.244-Baseband-Generic-CE.ftf

Pull down latest rom from sammobil.com then copy the updated modem into the zip then flash. At least you have the framework to work with now. No changes are needed to the script in the zip either.

Have you checked if your region received it through:
Xpericheck.com
Or:
Fwchecker.com
You can download the ftf with Flashtool that got Xperifirm included. It fixes everything automatically, the only thing you have to do is downloading it and afterwards flash it. Even if your region hasn't received you can give another region a go, but I wouldn't recommend it, because the mobile network is customized in each different firmware region

It will work, but the risk is that the network might be slower than before, because it's not optimized for your region

The moment you alter the kernel even the slightest bit from the OEM settings, the bootloader needs to be unlocked.
So my answer is that it won't work with locked bootloader.

Kernels added and updated
One quesgion, bit of a noob question but...
When I unlock bootloader I lose the DRM keys.. How can I get them back or restore them? And second, what do I do if I flash this kernel with latest FW, and let's say there's a newer FW in some months.. Can I then update my FW from flaahtool without losing root or...??

I think you don't have to but it is recommended because it is safer than dirty flashing it. It could also lead to compatibility issues like magisk not passing safetynet because of the new security update.
(edit) Just looked at a forum post and it says that if you are flashing custom roms and/or switching from a custom to an official, you need to, but if it's just an update of the same rom (in this case, stock) it is safe to dirty flash it.
One last thing
one last thing but does not make me select the ftf file for flash because?
So, any of you smart guys found a way to root this? Nougat root = minor case of 'this phone will not boot at all'.

Error
I am familiar with the flash tool and have used a lot back in 2016
also followed below still getting the error.
Now go into C:\Users\xxxxxxx\.flashTool\devices\G31XX and rename it from from 40.0.fsc to 48.1.fsc (thanks @boyrock - I would NOT have thought of that). ATTENTION: While the FTF is 'prepared' aka unpacked, this file might be renamed back to 40.0.fsc. If it does that, just name it back while the preparation is still running in Flashtool.

My device is G3116, and i using G3112 ROM, without issues.
Just got an update anyway.
Oreo for G3116 is now available on OTA and XperiFirm.
While cross-flashing is relatively safe ,there is a slight chance that some devices may have different partition setups.
