Does it support NFC? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

Does it support NFC?

Maybe some model in some markets.
The eu version doesn't have nfc.

No NFC support at the moment. Could be on Galaxy Note2.

None I have seen advertised have NFC but the original official specs state "NFC: Optional" so there must be some somewhere with NFC. I have read that the NFC capability is either incorporated into a "hybrid" battery or is in an alternative rear cover. Can't find out whether either rumour is true.

Considering the trend from samsung most probably there wont be any version of gnote with either nfc or 32gb of onboard memory.

Well, IT support plays a very important role in business. Good IT support is essential for smooth running of company day to day operations and also solves the computer problems. It also helps to connect you to your costumers.

Galaxy Note teared into pieces

If you're interested in what your Note looks in the inside, here is a blog entry I found on gsmarena:
http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-tears-the-galaxy-note-to-pieces-saves-ifixit-the-effort/#more-26181
The teardown shows that the note has NFC hardware built into it...it just requires the proper software and drivers to enable it.

It also says:

which is pretty meaningless! 16/32gb perhaps, but this and the obvious home button does make me question whether this is the AT&T version at all - more likely it is the LTE version available in Korea!

The article in itself is quite contradictory coz it talks about the international note and shows some other version.. here you can read d lines—
'Samsung has provided detailed descriptions of all the important Galaxy Note functional elements. You should keep in mind that what we have here is the US version of the Note, featuring a Qualcomm chipset and LTE, instead of Exynos and HSPA+.'
The above lines means that the device should be the international Note.

Check out the original article guys, it's much clearer:

Edit: Okay not that much better... I'm still not clear as to whether that's the American model or International one or the original images for the international one with the american specs added.... :s

[INFO] Model information

So as you know good 'ole Samsung released lots of different versions of our phone.
So here you will find more info about each model
If you go to Settings> About Phone you can find model version (eg. I8190(letter here)
You can see list below for more info:
No letter- 8GB international model
N - 8GB NFC international model
L - Model for Latin America
T- 16GB NFC international model
I - 16GB international model (unconfirmed)
Thanks for the List, lots of people asking what's the difference between the various models of GT_i8190. Didn't know there was a I model.

I think the Nand memory is the same in both models 8GB and 16GB. I've heard Samsung uses some sort of a workaround to lock 16GB models to 8GB, and that it's simply software based. I've also heard that people successfully unlocked their Galaxy S3 from 16GB to 32GB right here on xda.

Fm Radio: Yes or Not ?

Why in technical specs of Galaxy S4 fm radio is not onboard? In future i'll hope to see it
Good question. I did not see anything mentioned of an FM receiver. It would be weird if they included stuff like an RF blaster, temperature gages, and more but not the ability to receive FM frequencies. If I find any info to confirm or deny this, I will share it on this thread for you

Well for 70 euros less it's not actually a bad deal. Only bummer is you'll get 8 GB of internal storage...but the biggest issue will be the lack of development.
I think the biggest issue on this device is the broadcom gpu... its horrible, there arent any hd games optimised for it. I dont care about the lack of the gorilla glass, and a 8 gb micro sd card is 8 euro, the other things are kindly the same as on the original one.

[Q] Google's ROM? [UPDATE: June 30th]

Hey guys
So Google will be releasing their own version of the Galaxy S4 ("Clean" Version) pretty soon.
Will we be getting the chance to install this ROM over our current phones? (i9505 + i9500)
Or is it just for people who bought this specific phone?

With regards to aosp roms, the i9500 is doomed, my friend. Doomed. Anyone compiling aosp for i9500 is wasting their time because exynos 5410 is even worse than 44xx.

I live in Europe as well but luckily they chose to market the LTE variant here. You could have imported an i9505, though.
Look, what they release on arndale has nothing to do with what they have in their phones. If I'm wrong on that, I'd request an insight from @Entropy512 because he knows a lot about this stuff.

Remember, this is a stock Android UI - so far, nothing more (such as AOSP support) has been announced, and I suspect it's unlikely. So it actually will be of zero benefit for AOSP bringups like CM.
As far as porting it just like porting a TW firmware between Qcom devices? Maybe, I don't know how successful people have been in doing such a thing. (e.g. if they've got it as automated as I did with Hellraiser on the I777).
Since I9500 is Exynos, the Google Edition is of zero use for that device.
As I said long ago when the Google Edition was first announced:
If it's not AOSP supported, it basically means nothing
If it's AOSP supported and qcom, it's nice but not a huge benefit since CAF is already quite good
If it's AOSP supported and Exynos, that's a game changer and would be what would cause me to consider Samsung again. But we know for certain it's not Exynos, and it's highly unlikely it'll be AOSP supported - Samsung's underlying base software is too Samsunged (hacked up) in the non-GE GS4s for them to have AOSP support any time soon. The Google Edition is just covering up their crappy underlying software with a less sucky UI as far as I can tell. We'll know for sure when the device is released.

They won't be able to include Samsung drivers into the device. If you use a non stock rom now watch on won't work because it doesn't know where to find the infrared.
I hope that Google does it right and gets the sensors to work but at this point it doesn't seem like they will. Maybe Samsung will release the drivers someday
