I tried this method and it is saying that NV_REBUILD is not implemented. I tried to search the bml5.img for the network unlock pin using the search string for Galaxy Ace and Gio but I can't seem to find the proper pin. Any help would be most appreciated..

^^^ i tried looking for an eight-digit unique numbers on bml5.img from two different phones... but all numbers are the same... meaning there is no unlock code in it

Don't have the luxury of having two phones. How about other files?? I hope there would be a network unlocker soon.

@princessheart
what network are you locked on your galaxy y? maybe we can share our bml5.img so we can check if there is a difference if using a different network.

Hi im on 02 and trying to unlock my galaxy y, searched bml5 for: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 and it doesnt exist.

i have a Y with t-mobile (germany) lock.
i can't find the hexstring too.

@ellis, ps2011
will you be kind enough to upload your bml5.img so i can compare it with mine, maybe we can search for differences between different networks.

Hi, no problem give me a little while and will upload it, can you upload yours too so i can have a look?. Thanks.
I will PM you as cant post links yet.

the thing is, "when" a code is in the phone, who says it's in the bml5 or the hexstring FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 is the right one?
you understand what I mean?
or is it always so with every phone that the code can be only in the bml5?
I know my way in this area does not look so good -.-

It could be anywhere yes. theres load sof other bml files also.
---------- Post added at 07:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:59 PM ----------
Me and bicnop's blm5 are both he same!, Oso I dought there is a code in bml5. Maybe it's stored in another part?.

I looked yesterday with the terminal emulator and i think i have seen 15 bml files.
but how should you know whether it is the right hexstring?

Good question, it would take years to manually scan through all them bml files!.

What does the kernel codes mean?

Can someone explain to me the meaning of kf2 .. What the k or f means or with ke7 wat does the k or e or even 7 mean? cheers
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
The 5 digit code is a combination of a country/language code and a date code.
First two digits are a country language code and are sometimes omitted when talking about generic kernels.
Next two digits are year/month code and the final digit is a release number within that month.
KF2 = second (2) release in June (F) 2011 (K)
KE7 = seventh (7) release in May (E) 2011 (K)

They are stock ICS roms
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
To be more precise they are specific region ROMs.
LPY is open Germany
LPF is Taiwan
basically if your Galaxy Note is for that specific region you can get ICS update OTA or through Kies.
You can put these ROMs on any unlocked Galaxy Note but you'll have to do it manually through PC Odin from SamFirmware site.
Dammit, stop abbreviating ICS build codes without the region/carrier code!
XXLPY = Official ICS release for the XX region (which is most of Europe)
ZSLPF = Official ICS release for the ZS region (Taiwan)
Samsung build codes:
First two letters: Region
Third letter: Year
Fourth letter: Month of year for Gingerbread, P for ICS (except UC region = AT&T, which continues using proper month codes)
Fifth number/letter: Build of month (or, for ICS, build sequence for that region.)
Samsung's replacement of month with P = epic fail - they've almost exhausted their sequence codes already. (up to Y for XX region). Don't know if they'll bump the P up to Q or what.

Why people keep saying ZSLPF is for Taiwan?
ZS is the samsung country code for Hong Kong. Taiwan is ZT.
I cannot find any taiwan stuff inside this rom. But the hong kong IME is there.

Well, if one user made repeated identical posts, I could see it being problematic. But do you really think banning someone for a single post is appropriate? I could understand a mod(not a senior member) giving a warning or something if it got out of hand. But three people having a laugh doesn't do any harm. I'm sure this will get locked at some point, but WTF man? If you would just let this thread die, nobody would post anything in it. But you had to bump it. What exactly were you hoping to accomplish? Just let the thread die if you don't want stupid posts in it.

Every device released by samsung is one certain firmware for instance the s8 was released with 7.0 hence fa70 the 70 is the firmware version. Fa is factory so factory 7.0 say if the s8 was released with 6.0 all combos will be a fa60 and so on

Was any one able to change CSC of Galaxy note 20 ultra? exynos variant OXM multi CSC?

So i am trying to change the CSC of my Galaxy note 20 ultra from DTM to DBT or VD2 ... all of them are a part of OXM multi CSC firmware.
Flashed via ODIN using the right CSC file, and the flash was successful however the CSC did not change ... Tried multiple times and ended up with the same outcome.
Samkey still does not support N20 ultra !!! Any tips on how this can be done?
I am running the latest firmware with August patches.
Security Patch Level 2020-08-01
Product code DTM - SM-N986B
PDA N986BXXU1ATH3
CSC N986BOXM1ATH3
Help will be highly appreciated.

I tried and SIM card CSC change is no longer working, i have an INDIAN SIM and once inserted in note 20 ultra, it detects the sim but no longer pushes for a mandatory restart.
Something has changed somewhere, and i have a feeling its got to do something with One UI 2.5 update

Since the release of the S20 series this method no longer works. That's why everyone had to use samkey.org or the free apk by the mysterious Dev but since the August security patch both no longer works.

Since you're rooted, Just edit the cscfeature.xml file with <CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording> and reboot. Voila!
2 things that made the *#272*IMEI# work on my N20U5G Exynos (Aside from having an OXM fw, see attached files)
1. I copy-pasted the IMEI. If I just type in my IMEI, it will not work.
2. I used Samsung's stock Phone app. Having been using an Android One device, I am used to using Android's Phone app. Since it's my go-to phone app in my N20U5G, the code will not work on it.
From my understanding, this code only works on Exynos variants of N20U/5G. Since the DATA feature for my SIM2 was disabled on its original f/w, I changed my CSC code to XTC. Now I can set DATA on both SIM slots.

Well, Just Follow OP Instructions.
My Phone Rooted, I Follow Dr.Ketan Instructions how to root in Exynos section.
Am on latest Stock Rom, All Bloatware Remove with Adb Shell command.
1. I do Not install TWRP.
I extract Patched AP (magisk) and copy Boot.img, then convert Boot to Patched Kernel.tar
And Follow OP Instructions for CSC
"You will also need to edit mps_code.dat inside /efs/imei to reflect the carrier you desire. This needs to be done from a rooted system or from TWRP. After doing this and rebooting, you will be booted into your carriers system."
"Keep in Mind" You Must Copy mps_code.dat from your system to your SDcard then modify it with your desire CSC carrier Code. (For me I use Fx editor) (I have FX file Explorer Plus Root v8.0.1.0). Replace your Modify File to your System.
Reboot....

Yeah tribalfs,
Same here. No way of changing the CSC of my N9860 .
So for now call recording only with an extra app "BoldBeast" (with some quirks - like lower sound volume on the caller side "compared to our own level", and non-working on Bluetooth calls).
But it's better than nothing (My Note 9 still has call recording "using the Thy SIM Swap/reset trick", but I wanted a new experience "need to move" ).
Cheers,

try force restarting your phone using the volume down and power and see if it takes you the the screen where is says there was an error during an update screen and reflash the firmware again. it should not have taken 2 hours on that part and i can only assume that the app froze on your. with an average computer it should really take more that 5 minutes to completed a firmware flash
