I had that problem, but on windows 7. Something to do with MTP USB Driver.
The way I fixed was to plug the phone in let it try to install the driver.
When it fails try doing a windows update.
That’s where I got the correct driver from.
If that don’t work there is a MTP Patch on Microsoft’s site. If you can find it.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. I had problems getting my epic to show on my pc as well. For me, it wasn't the dr4ivers, but the fact I had it plugged into a usb hub. Try plugging it in a main usb port on the back of your case... these are usually the ones for your keyboard/mouse.

I haven't been able to get drivers to load at all... I have given up.
I too have a 64bit Win7 machine.
I too had the same drama for days on end..
I too read that installing PDA net will get you up and running
so..
I too am suggesting the following:
get PDA net and when it installs, select "samsung" and enjoy being able to plug your phone into your computer
I hope this helps
When booting windows hold F8 key and choose "Disable driver signature",now boot into windows and intall drivers it should work.
If not intall PdaNet tether on ur epic download drivers to ur phone for ur pc(it promts u) install them and ur good to go,dont forget to disable driver signiture and if u on win64 bit than u gotta disable it each time u boot into windows.

I used to have an intercept months ago and for a minute i had ur same problem. Try some of these options
1. Download samsung phone usb drivers.
2. Get a new usb cord.
3. Dwnload pdaNet from the market and send the drivers from ur phone to ur computer from pdaNet. ( pdaNet will ask if u need drivers) This is actually the way i got my intercept to be recognized by my win7 computer once i bought a new usb cord.
Hope things work out for ya

Every time I connect to PC I need to uninstall in device manager for it to connect?

As above really - When connecting to my PC it comes up with an exclamation mark in device manager and wont connect or show up in my computer.
If I uninstall drivers then disconnect/reconnect it installs drivers fine. Then maybe an hour later I could disconnect my phone and the same thing would happen, although never instantly.
I have Kies installed, so latest drivers. I've tried various different cables, different USB2 and USB3 ports and all the same.
Any ideas chaps?
Cheers, Tony.
- Uninstall Kies and SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile phone ( U can find the 2 in Control Panel -Programs - Programs and features - Uninstall or change a program)
- Reboot ur pc
- Install this drivers
- Reboot ur pc again
- Try now to conect ur phone to ur pc
- If all go ok install again Kies (Android 4.2.2) or Kies 3 (Android 4.3) but untick the box for install the drivers again
- I hope it works

[Q] Is it possible to make phone act as USB flashdrive, no drivers

Am trying to get my printer to recognise my phone as a usb flash drive. The printer recognises a usb device is connected but doesn't recognise the phone, as Samsung phones seem to need dedicated drivers.
Is there anyway to add files to root of phone so a section of its memory could be used as plug and play flash drive.
.
I have the same problem on my windows xp system. It recognises it as a MTP device but doesn't find any drivers for it.
Anyone got a solution ?
Think these are drivers https://www.dropbox.com/s/xlml5e62um56qmd/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe?dl=0 if not just install kies
