[Q] Unable to Boot without SD - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Any and all help would be appreciated.
I am able to boot off the SD just fine. I can't boot without the SD. Nothing happens. If I have it connected to the PC I hear the PC recognizing a USB device but nothing on the screen of the nook.
I can't get into RECOVERY at all.
Here is what caused this. Really dumb... I tried to restore a RECOVERY backup from another Android device. At that point I was booting off the internal flash.
What can I do? Thanks in advance.
UPDATE:
I was able to get into CWR from SD using info finally found in this thread...

I have installed a nightly update for Cyanogen 7 and since then the phone is stuck on the Cyanogen logo.
I can get into recovery but since I don't have any firmware files on my SD I can't reinstall the ROM. I just need a way to put the files on my internal SD.
I have tries ADB which didn't detect my phone. I have installed the driver (The phone is found as the Nexus S for some reason) .
I also couldn't get into download mode although I don't have the hardware lock as I can get into recovery.
What can I do in this situation? I am already thinking of opening the phone, swapping out the internal SD and transferring the files through the computer. I would like to know if there's any other way.
Thank you!

Plug phone into computer and boot in recovery. If still not recognized by adb go to advanced and select reboot recovery. This should get you adb. ADB push "namehere".zip sdcard.
If still having problems Odin back to stock and start over. To get to download mode make sure phone is off, battery pull if necessary. Plug USB to phone press volume up and down and hold and plug USB into computer.

Awesome! Thanks to you I have managed to get into download mode now.
All the guides that I found says I should use the power button. You said only up and down while connecting. That worked.
I am very grateful.

TWRP and USB-OTG

Hi there,
So I did something really stupid and I wiped my phone while in recover mode trying to install a new ROM. And now I'm stuck with a useless phone that can only go into TWRP and Firmware Update Mode.
I've tried every method to unbrick my phone, and have a previous thread on this forum trying to get help (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48914581#post48914581), but nothing is working.
My question now is I'm running TWRP 6.3.2.2, If I buy a USB OTG cable and put my rom files on a USB thumbdrive, can I then install the rom from the usb? If so, where in the filesystem does this usb storage show up?

I believe only TWRP 2.6.3.4 can support OTG (I've been happy with it).
I think you may have to ADB push the files from PC over while in recovery (may need to look around).

[help] Huawei Ascend G740 in reboot loop

Hello, my g740 was working normally, yesterday I did put a sim card in it and it went in reboot loop even once removed.
I don't mind doing a factory reset except I saw sometime it removes data from internal sd card too, any way I can recover files from it before ? Maybe recuva would work though.
I don't have a micro sd card nor a usb adapter to connect a usb key (not sure it would help anyway), all I have is my PC to connect it in usb.
Please help me I'm sure you can help even if you don't know that phone (it's on android 4 and system recovery is 3e) thanks :crying:

Z17 Lite won't boot after v1.05 ROM update

Hello,
After rooting the system I tried to upgrade the stock firmware.
I probably did something wrong because now the device won't boot.
At startup it shows the "Nubia... Powered by android" screen and does not continue with the boot process.
I still have access to TWRP so I tried to wipe everything and to install the ROM from TWRP.
It looks as if the ROM is installed correctly, but it requires reboot and after reboot the same "Nubia... Powered by android" screen comes up.
I also tried the emergency recovery but that installs only from external sd card (that the Z17 lite does not have), or from OTG device. I connected a USB thumb drive with OTG cable but it doesn't recognize it
At this point I have no idea what else to do.
I'd be happy for any assistance.
TIA

UPDATE: I tried different USB drives. One of them mounted. I found that this one was formatted in FAT. Since this is a small 2Gb drive that cannot hold the ROM, I found another drive that was formatted in ExFAT that also loaded correctly.
I loaded the ROM as suggested and now the phone is working again.
My guess is that the phone can't read NTFS file format in emergency recovery mode.
