Well, and what firmware version do you have before you started flashing custom rom? You can extract MODEM from that FW and flash it apart.

hmmm, ill try to do that but its the stock rom i mean the original since i bought my sga. thanks anyway ill try to download a packaged rom in samfirmware i hope it would work. ill post feedback later.

I Think, I got to try MODEM_S5830XXKPH in my Cm7
Because I can't check my balance when I flash Cm7 and G3 won't work...
Do you think MODEM_S5830XXKPH will work on Cm7?
And how can I back up my old modem?

If you are too lazy to boot into Windows and remember that Galaxy Ace will fail to boot if its flash counter is reached (saved in the dangerous stl5 partition). Modem in recovery flashable zip is the solution!
DXKPD-modem.zip (9.37 MB)
Flash it on your own risk using CWM recovery with signature and assert verification on.

[CF-Root-S5830 3.7 b80] For Samsung Official firmware 2.3.3 KPN (released July 13)

FIRST THINGS FIRST: WARNING - FLASHING A FIRMWARE, CUSTOM ROM, MOD TO ANY PHONE IS RISKY. WHAT YOU HAVE HERE IS THE SAME RISK AS TO EVERYWHERE ELSE. SO FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Thanks to the efforts of Ketut.Kumajaya, Samsung's latest firmware release of Gingerbread 2.3.3 KPN can now enjoy A2SD, ext4 filesystem and all the benefits of CF-Root.
This guide is as newbie friendly as possible. If you want the short instruction, this is it: Flash CF-Root 3.7 b78, Have Clockworkmod recovery, Flash CF-Root 3.7 b80 (so that everything is compatible to KPN). If you want to apply apps2sd and ext4 filesystem, you can do so.
Here's the newbie friendly guide -
What's New in 2.3.3 KPN?
Lots of bug fixes
Smoother firmware
Faster modem
New option in power menu (Network Data)
What's the difference of 2.3.3 KPN to 2.3.4 KPH?
2.3.3 KPN is an official Samsung firmware release dated July 13, 2011 while 2.3.4 KPH is a leaked firmware dated June 2, 2011.
2.3.3 has lots of bug fixes including the Wifi SOD that plagues a lot of Galaxy Ace users. If you don't want your phone to turn off for no reason at all, go 2.3.3 KPN.
2.3.4's only advantage is the video call on Gtalk. If you don't use this feature, might as well go to 2.3.3 KPN since 2.3.4 KPH doesn't have the bug fixes of KPN.
Requirements before flashing CF-Root to 2.3.3 KPN
2.3.3 KPN firmware - http://www.multiupload.com/Y643XGWMMN (password: sampro.pl) OR http://hotfile.com/dl/124821364/f954487/S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7.rar.html (password: samfirmware.com)
Odin 4.38 (download from below)
CF-Root 3.7 - b78 (you will flash this via Odin later) - http://www.multiupload.com/KZII7KZEKV
ClockWorkMod Recovery (you can flash the CWM from CF-Root 3.7 or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168417 )
CF-Root 3.7 - b80 (this will ensure that CF-Root is compatible with 2.3.3 KPN - download from below)
Optional - Both added in CF-Root 3.7 download - http://www.multiupload.com/KZII7KZEKV
CF-Root-S5830-ext4-v1.3u-Addon (if you want an ext4 filesystem)
CF-Root-S5830-dtapps2sd-v1.1-Addon (if you want apps2SD - you will need to format your SD card with a Fat32 for 1st partition and ext4 for 2nd partition if you want to use this.)
FLASHING 2.3.3. KPN to your Phone
Download the firmware - http://www.multiupload.com/Y643XGWMMN (password: sampro.pl) OR http://hotfile.com/dl/124821364/f954487/S5830XWKPN_S5830XWKP6_S5830OXXKP7.rar.html (password: samfirmware.com)
Flash via Odin as shown here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15949239&postcount=22
STEPS: HOW TO FLASH CF-ROOT TO 2.3.3 KPN
If you have downloaded the required files above, then move on to this. If not, download the files first.
STEP 1 : Flashing CF-Root 3.7 b78 through Odin first
Open Odin
Put the Cooper_v1.0.ops file in OPS and the CODE_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03-CF-Root-v3.7-b78.tar.md5 at the PDA
Put your phone to download mode (press POWER BUTTON + HOME BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN simultaneously)
Connect your phone to your PC (ODIN will detect your phone if it's on download mode once connected.
Click Start on ODIN.
Put your phone to download mode (by pressing POWER BUTTON + HOME BUTTON + VOLUME DOWN)
STEP 2 : Have ClockWorkMod Recovery as you Recovery - follow the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168417
STEP 3 : Flash CF-Root 3.7 b80 through ClockWorkMod recovery
You need to do this to make sure CF-Root is compatible with 2.3.3 KPN because these are the files that will make sure that everything is working for 2.3.3 KPN after flashing.
Go to recovery mode (Press POWER BUTTON + HOME BUTTON simultaneously)
Choose "Install zip from SDcard"
Choose "choose zip from SDcard"
Choose CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b80_boot
When done, press "Reboot".
By now, you have CF-Root for you KPN! You also know now how to flash via Odin and via ClockWorkMod recovery.
You can now install the following if you want to:
Install CF-Root-S5830-ext4-v1.3u-Addon.apk
Install CF-Root-S5830-dtapps2sd-v1.1-Addon.zip via recovery mode on CWM Manager.
If you install the ext4 manager, you can convert all your phone's file system to ext4.
If you choose to install dtapps2sd, make sure that your SD card has been formatted like this (First partition FAT32, Second partition ext4 - 512mb partition size for ext4 is enough and the remaining of your sdcard is fat32 - yes, fat3t should be bigger. Your media, pictures, music, videos will be placed in the fat32 eventually)
Also, if you choose to install dtapps2sd make sure that you check "DT: Auto Start" in Tweaks manager and apply the changes.
Finally!
Hey, thanks for sharing to us. By the way, where is ketut.kumajaya (the creator) ?
One question: is that flashing b78 before b80 really necessary?
Hello kabayan. Is it okay to flash this rom from 2.3.4 kph to 2.3.3 kpn? No risk? It will not be a downgrade right??

Flashing is already risky. Whether you flash an official firmware, mod, custom firmware, it's already risky.
It's the same risk that you will take everywhere.
Anyway, to directly answer your question, you can flash directly from 2.3.4 kph to 2.3.3 kpn. It's like applying a lot of bug fixes to kph.
Okay i try this one. Thanks

Since 2 weeks ago? I've been using KPN since its release.
I made sure that I use only 2.3.3 KPN. So I flashed from Froyo KC1 to Gingerbread KPN rather than 2.3.4 kph to kpn.
I suggest you try the raw smoothness of KPN first as a stock ROM before flashing anything above it or applying a mod or this CF-Root. You'll feel the difference already.
Do i need to deodex before i can delete the system apps that i am not using?

No. KPN is a stock rom, you can manually activate it. and for those who are using KPH(2.3.4) and flash KPN(2.3.3) one package, its still ok, but your baseband after flashing is still KPH(2.3.4) you wont get the full benefits of KPN(2.3.3) latest bug fixes and some bug may occur.

Nope, dont do that, i suggest flash a 5 file package 2.3.3 thru odin, try to download XKP8 in samfirmware, and update to one file package KPN that way it will make your baseband as 2.3.3.
My post updated. Step 1 + Step 2 = flash CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b78_recovery.zip .
@ketut.kumajaya
I had my first SOD today on the KPN. I have not encountered an SOD for the past two weeks of using 2.3.3 KPN until flashed the CF-Root today (August 1).
Maybe we can look into this?

From what i can guess, you have to select the single file in bootloader slot and flash there in using odin. Should work... Downloading right now, will post in an hour or so... net speed sucks these days... just 2mbps Plus the file is on hotfile which sucks even more...

I've updated the firmware using mobile odin and encounter a second of screen corruption (green garbled pictures) after the galaxy tab 7.0 logo? (before samsung logo) everytime I start the tab, not much of a problem but still wondering anyone here have the same glitch?

ok a few days ago I flashed a custom rom and kernel to my galaxy y, in a moment of sheer stupidity I forgot to do a full kernel backup so after the flash had finished I went to check out my lovely new rom and discovered that my wifi wouldn't work so I flashed back to the stock rom and now my imei has totally vanished, the efs folder is empty what can I do every time I try to get the sim to register with the 02 network it says registered on network but when I try to check my credit using *#10# it says not registered on network, and my imei is still missing , i forgot to mention i had the toto kernel before i ****ed up but now i have a dell kernel how can i fix this problem?
toto kernel? never heard of that one
dell kernel is stock kernel
you have several options
flash stock rom via odin
flash a custom kernel
flash ril fix from hyperion thread if using an old kernel on a new firmware
wifi you either flash stock wifi driver for most kernels
whites wifi driver for whites kernel and hells fusion #50
btw efs folder will be empty in galaxy y 5360 and duos - this is because that partition is not mounted and is not accessable during normal phone operation
I found a efs backup restored it and still nufin not sure when the efs was bked up

like I said in previous post
either
flash stock rom via odin
or
flash a dfifferent kernel
flash rill fix from hyperion thread if using old kernel on new firmware
using above methods will restore your imei
Can you please give me a link to the uk files for odin as hotfile dnt work anymore

I would edit my above post but im not sure if the board re-announces when editing posts, I appreciate that you don't want to change your file hosting but it would make scence as hotfile has been orded to shut down permantly by the American legal system that's what the hotfile website says, with that been said and done I cant find the files I need via google would you be able to upload them to another mirror say rapidshare or something like that?

SM-P601 & want kitakat ?

So I see a lot of people from the sm-p601 group complaining that they dont have KitKat yet ...
Well not to worry if you are willing to let go of 3G until a Stock Rom is released for the device
Also it would be cool if someone could find a way to enable 3G on these roms .
Following is a list of Roms and Kernels that I have been using for sometime & they all work grreat !!
I have flashed them all with TWRP

Wait. Is this really possible??? I don't even use 3g, I just bought it because it was the only option avaliable at my country (Brazil).
EDIT:
Let me see what I'm supposed to do: root, flash custom recovery, flash the roms plus gapps? Just these things or there is something more?
EDIT AGAIN:
Can you please show me your screenshots?
Yes !

Same here , I dont use 3G , I tether it with my phone . But its good to have phone calling option
What I did -
1. Flash Twrp , when in TWRP , when you select reboot it asks if you want to root .. select yes
2. Download the ROMS to your External Sd , FORMAT everything except external SD card using TWRP, Install the downloaded ROMs using TWRP
3.Enjoy!
It works cuz both p600 and p601 are Exynos.

Yeah, I'm so lazy, I remember that I've ask myself if both had the same specs a very long time ago but I never have search it, anyway, now I know. I'm pretty much excited then, lol. Maybe I'll do video tutorial if possible otherwise I'll just give my report.
But, I don't have an external sd card, well, I think I don't but it's probably hidden somewhere deep inside my bedroom, I'll try figure out some way to get done it otherwise I'll find one sd card for me. Pretty much thanks!

You can do it without an external sd , wipe everything except internal sd where the downloaded file is.
But I feel fully deleting keeps it as an clean install
Thanks for this info....but I would like to flash stock kitkat, how can I do it via Odin? It says fail whenever I try
no odin here too ..

Yep flashing through odin dint work for me either .
I believe something tells odin that the device is p601 and not p600, I found out this workaround by chance , so thought I'd share :silly:

Yes its safe , I have been personally using P600 roms for quite sometime and except for 3G all is well . ( Though I would love it if some one can make 3G Work too )
You can download Odin and TWRP that I use from this link -
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iiaw32zz04gm1zj/Cxj7NdCJHI
Flashing Custom Kernels is not mandatory at all , tho they do have some good stuff like some touchscreen tweaks , and Ram tweaks & other complex tweaks .
Yes , when you want to sell your tablet you can flash using Odin any Stock Rom from sammobile . I have done this too :good:

N910TUVU1COD6 - Modem - Stock Kernel - Stock Recovery

If you are looking for the Stock Kernel - Stock Recovery or Modem file for the latest Lollipop Update for the TMO Note 4
You can use FLASHIFY to install Kernel or Recovery
You should be able to flash the modem using ODIN 10.6 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
I am not certain about earlier versions of ODIN.
you will find all files here - DOWNLOAD
Stock Rom from Sam Mobile is being uploaded to GOOGLE DRIVE - when it is finished uploading you can access at link above.
Flash in ODIN 10.6
I hope this is helpful
I am not responsible for your actions or your phone.
Not yet considering upgrading to Lollipop as I am not willing to give up Xposed.
Curious though if there could be any benefit or adverse affects in flashing the "Modem" ONLY to KitKat based ROM?
Anyone tried - comments?
modem file is no longer on mediafire. says it's removed.
edit: got it

Media Fire links removed - not sure why they are banned - they did not force registration or anything - but anyway - they are removed.
I have posted a new link for the Modem - Kernel and Recovery - but will need to post a new link for the STOCK ROM a little later - sorry for any inconvenience -
PS - anyone know why Media Fire is banned? Just curious?
Pretty sure these links work

I totally agree! Fingers crossed that xposed works with TW one day. Yeah, I just flashed the modem file via odin. Works great on KitKat. Tried calls via cellular & WiFi calling, data via LTE & WiFi, tether, and Bluetooth all around. Don't know about battery life yet or signal (cell tower practically in my backyard) but will report any negatives here if found. Oh btw, use cp button for modem on odin. And you we can always flash back to the old MK7 version if there any issues.... Enjoy!

The OP loaded them on Google Drive now.
Do we still need install modem file, boot.img and stock kernel even after I flash (through ODIN) the firmware from sammobile? Sorry, I have been installing custom ROMs and trying to get back to stock to see how it works. I thought just flashing firmware would be enough (and I thought this will take care of latest model, boot.img), am I wrong?
No need to flash these if you did the whole deal.

Indeed. These phones are hard to brick
So has flashing this modem to a kitkat frimware and rom change/increased the signal/data speeds?

It's possible to have minor improvements through an updated baseband/modem/radio version but nothing miraculous. Sometimes newer versions are worse. Just depends. Mine seems the same so far. We'll see. You can always go back.
