[ROM]HC3.2-civato-FLEXTHUNDER-AdHoc-3GHuawei-Hulu - Acer Iconia A500

FLEXTHUNDER rom is discontinued
Last update was on 29/Dec/2011.
I added the red mod , I think this is a great rom and it does what it should.
I will not put anymore time in this rom , I'm not taking it down , so you users still can enjoy it but don't expect active support from me.
My next and final rom is named flexstriker and will recieve a whole new thread.
civ.2011Always take a "NANdroid" backup with cwm before you flash anything and take a "Titanium Backup" from your APPS.after flexspeed =FLEXTHUNDER=even faster

TIPS:
- 3Gusb:
If the connection won't start use the ril-deamon-restarter.apk or when you put the 3Gusb in after boot ALWAYS use the ril-deamon-restarter.(3g icon in notification bar and mobile settings will be available in settings then)
It is possible you need to change APN settings in the mobile settings.
(I got a Huawei E1552 and it is working supurb)
Had to follow this tutorial to make my 3G dongle ready : http://vache-android.com/v1/index.ph...tutorialsID=12
-You don't want HULU , or want the flashplayer from the market ?
You need to remove "com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk" in data/app and reboot.
Now you can download the flashplayer from the market.
- Problems with GPS, try the v2.2 patch from crypted, the rom contains patch 3.0 but it seems that some people have problems with it AGPS Patch Iconia 3.1 & 2.2 | GET BACK TO RAPID GPS LOCK, CAN LOCK ONTO MORE SATS - xda-developers

This rom comes with custom kernel , if you'r not going to oc leave the one that is on there.
But I like the Thor Kernels, more clock settings.

might wanna check your download. Same issue as last time. Only getting 23.4 k download. eager to check this rom out.

Ohh!
A new rom...
Is it tasty?

Just flashed this one (I had your previous ROM on my tab), after wiping Data , Cache and dalvik. Netflix works, and camcorder does not crash. Tried Hulu using the default browser, at the site I got an error that said I had to upgrade my flash.
I am having a gps problem, no sats locking. It finds up to 6 sats.
Everything else is great! Thanks, just wanted to give some feedback
edit: uninstalled the flash apk and reinstalled it from your ROM and Hulu is now working!! Not sure what happened the first time.

Everything working as advertised and new boot animation is sick but i still have the su denied for setcpu at boot......

Do you have root explorer or any other app that can give you root access to /system/app?
Sent from my Sensation Rockin CoreDroid!
EDIT: If you do have an app that can access /system with root then do me a favor and try this. Go into /system/root and copy the superuser.apk that is located there. Paste it somewhere in either your sdcard or external sdcard. Then take the attached superuser.apk and move to /system/ and set the correct permissions(Verify old permissions of old superuser.apk before you paste.) Now do a reboot, and once booted back up go into settings/applications/manage applications/all applications and scroll down to superuser and clear out the data for superuser. Now go back into your root apps and setcpu and regrant everything superuser permissions and I'm willing to bet that your issues will be solved. Hope this helped.

It is not the battery mod , I got it running on mine .I got no SU problems.
This is how I install rom:
-Reboot in recovery
-Wipe DATA/reset to factory
-Wipe cache
-Wipe Dalvik
-Flash new ROM
-Reboot.
Better to wipe everything before you flash rom.
Sometimes I got SU denied after I restore my system with a Nandroid backup , then I only wipe cache and dalvik and flash the rom again that I'm using in that backup so I don't lose my data/setup.
I did a update of the SU bin and apk in the one I upload later , for the GPS I got really fast lock on , but I live in europe , I will update the gps config file in the updated rom for you guys in the states , if you cannot wait just use the link to the crypted gps in first post and update yourself.
Will be uploading MIX_3B = updated the SU bin and apk. and updated gps config to V2.0 , over her I have even faster gps lock , so thanks for the tip guys.

twice now my tablet ha shut down while in sleep.is there a setting I need to change.
And please let me know if there's a flash for stock font.
This is really good

[THEME] ☢ BigDX Xoom ported for Iconia A500_1.141.07_COM_GEN1

Well after some attemps and a couple of hours killing and reviving my Iconia I just finally make a port of one of the Xoom themes.
This is a beta test, so please test and tell me if you find any bug or image missing.
Original XOOM theme, all images taken from his theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015434
NOTE: This is made and tested on A500_1.141.07_COM_GEN1 and dunno if it work on any other version
How to Install:
1. Download Zip attached. Since there is no way to flash custom update.zip I mod a sh script in order to auto-install this theme just with a few commands.
2. Unzip framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and installtheme.sh on /sdcard (internal sdcard, not microsd)
3. (You need root)
adb shell
su
cd /sdcard
sh installtheme.sh
4. enjoy and say thanks if you like my little work
reserved for updates and faq
just installed your theme using root explorer, just copied and paste.love the green instead of blue.thanks
just wanna say.thanks !
will this work for other firmware, can anyone confirm ? maybe those outside US ?
AND, i think now u can make .zip version of this theme as cwm is already working
works great on. german firmwre (Cus7)
Thanks for the theme. Seem to have trouble getting the wallpaper installed. Everthing else is perfect.
How can we change back to original theme?
Sent from my A500
Just replace the files with the same from your stock Rom.
Will this work on (Stock) Rooted_Acer_A500_7.006.01_COM_GEN2.

If you took the time to actually read the OP, you'd see full instructions
Very nice but not stable , I tried it and checked the framework , it needs work .
After changing and adding some stuff I got it running now on my system, I also made a CWM flash .zip file so it installes very easy. Also added updated "launcher2.apk" fitting wallpapers.
So the cwm flash will update "systemui", "launcher2" and "framework" , it is close to the xoomblue mod but some things are not possible on the acer framework to run stable.
It should run fine on any rooted and busybox HC3.2 A500.
I will upload later if I got time
DO AT YOUR OWN RISK and clear you'r cache dalvik and battery stats before flash.
Here is the final result , It works supurb on my rom but I think it will work on any HC3.2 A500 and Packard Bell LIBERTYTAB rooted and busybox installed.
FLASH WITH CWM , CLEAR CACHE, DALVIK and BATTERYSTATS
And believe me it is more then framework and systemUI modding.

You just need to download the .zip from a few post above and flash with cwm.
The first post is a nice start but not stable. So don't use the script but use the cwm flash.
I know it is not the green mod but I'm working on it.
I'm starting new thread about this sorry to the OP , You gave me a good start.

No, Amend. Use Clockworkmod from within ROM Manager for getting CWM 2.5 (This is over and above your current 3.x), else use Fastboot to remove your current 3.x and install 2.5 in its place.
cn all the apps move to the sd card?????????

Thanx For Replying
In CM7, Open ROM Manager (Or, if you are not in CM7, then download the app called ROM MAnager from the Market)
- Then Select Install Clockworkmod Recovery. This will install v2.5 on the SDCard
- Select Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager
- This will take you to Clockworkmod 2.5, then you can install this ROM.
By following this, you get to keep both recoveries, 2.5 (Select Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager App) and 3.x (Select Reboot into Recovery from the Phone-Switch-Off Menu)

+1 for jokerdroid, after using CM7 for 1 month. I cant live without sense dialer and contact manager, and jokerdroid is really fast and stable (I got 3.3mflops without JIT).
+1 JokerDroid 4.2 i have been using cm7 stable and nightlys for the last 2-3 months they are fast but had to many little bugs that pissed me off lol , never really used sense as had the phone for a couple of hours and rooted it and flashed cm7,JokerDroid 4.2= fast and very stable so far so for me this is the best rom i have used to date
that`s good !
yep ! one of the best roms that i`ve ever tried ! jokerdroid 4.2 ! so far so good since a week ago !
I tested CM7, but I missed some features from Sense. So I decide to use JokersDroid, but it hasn't got "insecure boot" (no rw mount). After everything I decided to use MoDaCo (it has busybox, so usefull). I replaced kernel to nfinity MC4 from johnseen99 (so I can OC buzz), removed some annoying apps, add JAVA and Livewallpapers from DK Rom, unlocked GoogleMaps and switched to GoLauncher EX.
I'm happy now

There is no zip
1. I flashed MoDaCo from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867937
2. Via recovery switched kernel to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=591094&d=1304950233
3. JAVA - unpack DK ROM - from /system/app copy Jbed.apk and libjbedvm.so from /system/lib -> via adb push them to similar folders. In /system/app are two files with "live" in name - copy them too (livewallpapers doesn't work in Sense)
4. Wifi indicator and Wavesecure removed via Titanium backup
5. Maps: http://mobileplanet-waryam.blogspot.com/2011/07/google-maps-v562-mod-with-world.html
6. Go Launcher - via Market
If some day I'd learn how to prepare full custom ROM - I''ll do it

Ok, there is two other ways to make it: using rootexplorer to remount /system partition with R/W, or adb shell to remount it manually (adb shell, su, and mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system)
As I have rootexplorer, even when I have to adb push something, I just open /system in rootexplorer and press "mount r/w" button.
Ed.:
I cant remember the correct number of mtdblock. You can check it with df command on shell, and it will give you all mounted partitions

CF-Root for S5830. I have no comments. An amazing kernel.
Best RAM Tweak (for stock ROMs without CF-Root only)
Juwe's RAM optimization script. It's working fine on Ace, but the boot time will take longer than usual.
Best Animation Tweak (will smoothen animations on stock XXKPH ROM and activate CRT animation on coderom)
Not sure who share this tutorial, but you will get smooth animations after you have applied this tweak. Using Root Explorer, mount /system/ to RW, edit build.prop, find debug.hw, add a hash "#" before it. Save and reboot. Original post here.
For the best result: make sure you have activate a2sd and convert filesystem to ext4 using ext4 Manager (available through CF-Root) and do NOT apply Conservative Gov (when applied, it will save battery life but will slow down performance)
Okay, that's all.
Please report to me if you get something wrong so I can revise this thread.
I was gonna install coderom for the reboot button feature (on phone options), but the link was down.
Please add this: enabling crt on gingerbread rom by adding a hash (#) to debug.hw in build.prop smoothen everything a lot, especially popups.
XDA ♥
- XXKPH
- Easy Deodex + Root (XDA)
- Zipalign on boot setting from A2SD GUI
- CF -Root updated to b78
- update to CWM 4.0.0.9
- Internal memory converted to ext 4 (by ext4 manager)
- set tweaks => default (no checked list)
thats great combine! i've used this...
very smoothly guys...
thanks, just flash up the RAM optimizer with CWM~

Hi fla.sh,
I don't think anyone will go wrong when they have great combo like this. I have all of them in my SGA. (Of course with CRT as mentioned by consegregate)
Now my ace runs very smoothly.
Hey, if I apply the ram optimization... how do I get to the original configuration? A flash of the kph rom (the one i have) would be enough?
I'd say just deleting the script file should be enough.
And lol that's exactly what I have on my Ace. Plus the CRT animation.

Hi,
I have this question for you... Do I need to install everything in the post CF-Root for S5830 like CF root manager, Tweak, EXT4 Manager etc., or just the below mentioned part is enough?
I just flashed this part to my SG Ace.
Instructions (long)
- Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Unzip CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b78.zip
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start ODIN v4.38
- Click the OPS button, and select Cooper_v1.0.ops
- Click the PDA button, and select CODE_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03-CF-Root-v3.7-b78.tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)
I tried Quardant after installing this Kernel which gave me 1043 (sdcard class 2) which is as equal to what I got before without this kernel. What is your thought?
Quadrant won't show any difference until you convert your system to ext with the exr4 manager.

Hi All,
I have an issue (may be not), I haven't installed the DT a2sd addon from this thread as I already run on coderom Nexus which has DT a2sd. I entered into Terminal and typed SU and then a2sd repair. After boot I saw i have only 24MB as EXT4 in a2sd GUI and Dalvik cache moved back to internal memory, but I created 2GB as EXT4 while partition which still appears in my Titanium backup. Did I do anything wrong? Which app is correct? Please help. I have uploaded screenshots from both apps.

[ROM][KANG] CherryKANG 0.9.4 1512max 384min [CM9] synced [11/04] Now supports goo.im!

Hi guys..
I just want to say thanks to the cm team for bringing ics to our touchpads. None of the work in this rom is my own.. I have just used the great tutorials and stuff I've picked up before to compile this. All credit to everyone who put work into this!
This rom includes cherry-picks from http://review.cyanogenmod.com such as the fixes below
A wifi fix -- review.cyanogenmod.com (Although some people are reporting wifi issues still. I recommend a full wipe)
I have also compiled my own kernel into this.. which I set the default CPU speed to 1.5ghz and the default governor to ondemand. I also added HAVS support. Although I don't know if we really need it on a tab. Maybe it will help slightly with battery life?
These are settings that I like and normally run. So don't flame me!
I am looking for pointers too.. for what to do next. I would like to add the webOS style recent apps mod next. Also ROMControl would be nice from here .. some pointers on how to include would be helpful. Any help greatly appreciated
So.. please remember.. I made this for myself... to teach me something.. someone just said I should post it!All credit goes to the people that contribute to cyanogenmod.
Cheers and enjoy

or you can use the free version (or dpi changer) to modify the dpi back to 160
---------- Post added at 02:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:03 AM ----------
I wrote this. It looks more complicated than it is cause i broke it down step by step. Ignore my cracked out numbering scheme, i didnt feel like shifting all the numbers down when i added more info.
1. If you dont already have it, download es file explorer
1b. go to the application settings and clear the data for the market
1c. download dpi changer and change dpi to 135(dont reboot yet)
2. go into the options on there and check the root explorer option and the mount option
3. download to TP
http://www.sundergaming.com/downloads/tabletmarketdpiunlocked.apk
4. rename the file Vending.apk
5. long press to copy the file (in ES file explorer)
6. click the star in top right corner (favorites)
7. Choose the phone (/)
8. navigate to system/app
9. paste the app
10. find the app in there called marketupdater.apk or something similar and rename it marketupdater.apk.bak
11. reboot
12. see if you can download an app like flash player. If you cant go to next step
12b. get back to system/app and click the Vending.apk and let it install.
You can mess around with the dpi if you want, but also remember that if the text is small, you can change the default text size in the settings.
The issue i encountered with this method is sometimes the fix stops working, but all you need to do to get the apps to download once again is clear your market data in the application settings. It is obviously much easier to download the app mentioned in the op, but this is for the cheapskates. your only other option is download dpi changer and just switch the dpi back to 160. That is painless but you loose out on some app compatibility and some screen real estate. I myself change the dpi to 138 and change the font size to large. Everything seems to be perfect. Best balance out there IMO.

Do not install CM9 over CM7. Some have gotten away with it and others like yourself run into trouble. Do a clean install, that means running ACMEUninstaller. Here are some instructions I created just for an occasion such as this:
Since the release of CM9, it has become abundantly clear to me that one
needs to do a clean install of the rom to avoid all the little
nagging issues that so many folks are reporting. Whether you are
installing for the first time, upgrading from CM7 or installing
an update of CM9, one really needs to do a clean install.
Since the advent of the official CM9 nightlies, installing
the rom and the Gapps files via CWM seems to be much more
reliable. You still need to wipe the cache and Dalvik cache
before you reboot after installing any rom. If you run into
trouble after an install via CWM, then read on.
Those who know how to do it otherwise and are comfortable with that
feel free to deviate from this document.
For first time installers, you can skip this part. First thing
you need to do is a nandroid backup of your current install and
copy it over to your PC for safe keeping. Next you should backup
your apps using either Titanium Backup or My Backup Root. This will
allow you to restore all your apps after you are done with this
update. If the install goes South, you can always restore your
nandroid backup.
For the first time installers, if you have not already prepared
your PC for this project, you need to download the following:
1. ACMEInstaller2
2. ACMEUninstaller
3. Moboot 0.3.5.zip
4. ClockworkMod.zip(CWM)
5. update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-Touchpad-alpha2-fullofbugs.zip
6. UniversalNovacomInstaller.jar
7. The latest Gapps.zip
The ACME files, Moboot, CWM and the Alpha2.zip can all be found
on the OP for Alpha2 at:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18843-releasealpha2-cyanogenmod-9-touchpad/
The universal novacom installer and Gapps files can be found by doing a Google
search on the names above and you will find the download page. I found
the novacom installer here:
http://universal-novacom-installer.googlecode.com/files/UniversalNovacomInstaller.jar
You should download the latest Gapps.zip which
the last time I checked at the link below was 20120317:
http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps
First thing, open the run box on your PC and browse to the novacomInstaller
file. This is a Java executable, so treat it just like any .exe file.
However, since it does not end in .exe, when you browse to find it,
you will have to tell the browser to show "All Files." Once it is in
the run box, click on OK and the Novacomd drivers will be installed,
the Palm, inc folder will be created and the novacom.exe will be placed
in that folder. Next if the ACME files you downloaded are zips, unzip
them both into the Palm, Inc folder which you will find in the Program
files folder. If not zipped, copy both into the Palm, Inc folder. Now
your PC is prepared for installing CM9, so everything applies to first
installers and upgraders from this point forward.
First timers boot into WebOS, upgraders can do the same or boot into
your current install of Android. Connect your TouchPad to your PC
with the usb cable and open Windows Explorer on your PC. You should
see either the TouchPad as a drive, or cm_tenderloin if you are already
running a version of CM9. If you have not already created a cminstall
folder on your TouchPad do so now. Also create a folder named ICS
Install.
Next you need to copy Moboot 0.3.5 and ClockworkMod(CWM) into the
cminstall folder on your TouchPad. Now copy the rom.zip and the
Gapps.zip file into the folder you created named ICS Install. It's up
to you which rom and Gapps file you use if you are installing something
different from what is listed above. If you are copying files to the
Touchpad drive, you now need to right click the drive letter and eject
the drive when you are done. If you are copying files to cm_tenderloin,
you can just close Windows Explorer and both of you disconnect the usb cable.
Upgraders, now you need to run ACMEUninstaller and when it is done, your
TouchPad will reboot back into WebOS. Now both of you need to reboot while
holding down up volume to put the TouchPad into WebOS recovery or bootie
mode. You will know you succeeded if you see a large white usb symbol.
Now plug the usb cable back in and you should hear the PC beep indicating
the TouchPad is connected. You will not be able to see the TouchPad in
Windows Explorer, so don't try. On your PC click "RUN" and type in CMD.
This opens the command window. First timers type in the following in the
command window:
cd/ and press enter. You will see C:\
Now type cd program files and press enter. You will see C:\program files
Now type cd Palm, Inc and press enter. You will see C:\ program files\Palm, Inc
Upgraders, your novacom.exe may be in a different folder, so go browse to that folder.
Both of you enter novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller2 in the command window and
hit enter. After a few seconds, you should see what is fondly called the "Double Penguin" on
the Touchpad. When the install is done, the TouchPad will boot to Moboot. Tap
the volume on the TouchPad to stop the 5 second countdown if you see one. Now
select CWM using the Home button, then Install zip file from SD card and use the
volume rocker to move down to the ICS Install folder. Select that and move to the
Alpha2.zip and select that. Start the install. When it is done, use the go back
selection to go back to the main CWM screen and select reboot.
Once Android is booted up(be patient, it takes a couple of minutes the first time),
play around with the browser, set up wifi, just to make sure your install was
successful. Now reboot back to CWM and do the same procedure to install the Gapps.zip
you copied to the ICS Install folder earlier. You're done with a clean install.
Upgraders, you know what to do, first timers, I hope you have friend around to show
you the ropes or you own an Android phone and already know the ropes. Good Luck!
P.S. I strongly suggest you make a nandroid backup of your new installation right now.
First timers, one makes a nandroid backup using CWM. Boot to CWM, select "Backup and
Restore" and select "Backup".

[ROM] (Almost) Stock Debloated 10.1.1.A.1.307 CWM ZIP LB v8

This is the ROM i use myself, but I post it here in case other people also want a clean (almost) stock ROM with root and recovery. It works for me, but I provide no guarantee that it will work for you. That said, these ZIP files and procedures have been tested by myself and a few others and seem to work quite well.
FLASH THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Requirements:
Sony Xperia Z.
Only tested on LB, but should also work on UB.
Ability to flash ZIP files via recovery.
Features:
Based on Xperia Z_10.1.1.A.1.307_Unbranded BE.ftf (file uploaded by Psicao).
Removed bloat and other apps you can download from Google Play.
Installed CWM recovery 6.0.2.8 for locked bootloaders v4.
Odexed and zipaligned.
No reboots when mounting system r/w.
Pre-rooted with Koush's Superuser App.
Busybox v1.20.2 installed.
Call recording.
18 Toggles.
36 dpi softkeys.
Changelog:
v8
Added 18 Toggles.
Switched to 36 dpi softkeys.
v7
Added WeatherWidget back due to popular demand.
More robust and less intrusive way to ensure that mounting system r/w doesn't cause a reboot.
v6
Based on 10.1.1.A.1.307
Removed 18 Toggles since it is not compatible with 1.307 yet.
Delete the ric daemon early in the boot process.
v5
Added 18 Toggles.
Applied a few WiFi tweaks to get a (hopefully) more stable WiFi connection.
v4
Removed duplicate notification sound 'vega' (bug in original ROM).
Increased volume a bit.
v3
Created all symlinks found in the original FTF file.
Changed all file and directory permissions to match those in the original FTF file.
Added a more robust script to stop ric.
v2
Fixed reboot issue when mounting system r/w.
Added Notes and NoteWidget back.
Reodexed and zipaligned.
v1
Initial release.
Installation:
Enter recovery.
Flash C6603_10.1.1.A.1.307_DEBLOAT.zip.
Clear user data OPTIONAL STEP - SEE BELOW.
Reboot.
Reboot again once NFC firmware has been upgraded (only needed if upgrading from 1.434 or earlier).
Note regarding unlocked bootloaders: This ROM is designed for LB. If using this on UB flash the following ZIP after installation to remove the CWM recovery for LB: C6603_10.1.1.A.1.307_UBPATCH.zip
Clear data?
If NFC is not working and you're upgrading from a 1.434 ROM, I recommend that you clear your userdata by flashing C6603_10.1.1.A.1.307_ClearData.zip.
You do NOT need to clear user data if you are already running a ROM based on 1.253 or 1.307 and everything is working fine.
MD5 hashes:
2f8fe013da90987447a04c0e5f405998 (C6603_10.1.1.A.1.253_DEBLOAT.zip)
3bba6ffb3cd9bdf7535c5e4b722223d5 (C6603_10.1.1.A.1.253_ClearData.zip)
b889d474290d9b924acbf011277d58e3 (C6603_10.1.1.A.1.307_UBPATCH.zip)
Upgrade kernel and baseband:
Once the ROM is working you might want to flash kernel and baseband from the original FTF via Flashtool in order to get the full 1.307 experience.
Preventing reboots when mounting /system read-write
This ROM uses my own little utility called RICHunter to prevent reboots when mounting /system read-write. If you want to use it yourself in your own ROM you can download it here:
0c766dc58cc909693f5d669264d78f4a (richunter.zip)
Included in the ZIP file is a README.txt that explains how to use it, but you can also read it here:
RICHunter by Carceri @ XDA
1. What is this?
On the Xperia Z Sony have added a small program called ric which
monitors mount options on filesystems and reboots the system if
they deviate from their default values. This causes the system
to reboot e.g. when the /system partition is mounted read-write.
In short, this programs stops this daemon and replaces it with a
dummy version that doesn't do anything, thereby disabling ric.
2. How do I use it?
Just put the file richunter somewhere on your system, for example
/system/bin/richunter, make it executable (chmod 755) and run it
as the root user. This needs to be done every time the system is
restarted.
This can be achieved by putting the following lines in a file
called /system/etc/install-recovery.sh:
#!/system/bin/sh
exec /system/bin/richunter
Another way is to make a wrapper to /system/bin/ctrlaltdel and
call richunter from there:
#!/system/bin/sh
exec /system/bin/richunter
exec /system/bin/toolbox ctrlaltdel "${1}" "${2}" "${3}" "${4}"
Choose either one, or a 3rd solution to automatically run it.
Remember to make the files executable.
3. How does it work?
On the latest kernel, the ric daemon is restarted whenever it
is killed. Therefore the following steps are taken by this
program to stop it without giving it time to reboot the system:
1) The programs runs as a daemon waiting for up to 60 seconds
for ric to start.
2) It detects which CPU ric was last scheduled on, and forces
ric to always run on that CPU in the future.
3) It forces itself to run on the same CPU as ric and sets its
scheduling priority to real-time. This prevents anything
in that CPU from running, including ric.
4) It mounts the rootfs read-write and replaces ric with a
dummy version that just sleeps forever. Finally it kills
the ric process and remounts rootfs read-only.
5) The daemon now exits. When ric is restarted the dummy

4. What about unlocked bootloaders and custom kernels?
On custom kernels ric has either been removed or not installed
at all. Therefore this is only needed on locked bootloaders.
5. Can I use it in my own ROM?
Sure. Use it as you want.
6. How do I compile it?
You need to have the Android NDK installed. Then set the
correct paths in the included Makefile and run:
1) make prep
2) make
That's it. When you want to recompile you can skip step 1).
7. What license is this released under?
It is UNLICENSED software. See http://unlicense.org/
Hi, i have not tested this exact zip, but the rom i am using now is based on a previous version you posted in another thread.
There is a little issue with your "debloating", you removed "Notes" app, so when you go to "small apps" drawer and choose notes or voice recording, an error pops out, so you have to remove the icons and forget about stock notes or voice recording as they are apps not available on the market to download separately.
As i said, this happens on the first zip you uploaded, i don't know if this was already solved on newer versions.
If NFC is not working, there is still hope to keep user data intact, just delete /data/usf on your phone, take usf folder from your userdata.tar, and put it in your phone in the same place where the older was with same permissions. This step could also be added to the main flash script, no user data is lost and i think all NFC related problems would be gone
Thanks for sharing your work.

That was actually the first thing I tried and it didn't work for me. It might work for some and if someone is interested I'll be happy to provide a zip file that just restores this directory and keeps everything else under /data intact.
How do you enable call recording btw? Thanks.

This is the ROM i use myself, but I posted this in case other people also want a clean (almost) stock ROM with root and recovery. It works for me, but I provide no guarantee that it will work for you, so FLASH THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Requirements:
- Sony Xperia Z with locked bootloader.
- Ability to flash ZIP files via recovery.
Features:
Based on the first version of the ZIP posted by wawyed on this thread.
...which was based on C6603_Unbranded_10.1.1.A.1.253.ftf (original file uploaded by prakka).
Removed bloat and other apps you can download from Google Play.
Installed CWM recovery 6.0.2.8 for locked bootloaders v4.
Odexed and zipaligned
Pre-rooted with Koush's Superuser App.
Busybox v1.20.2 installed.
Enabled call recording.
Changelog:
v2
Fixed reboot issue when mounting system r/w.
Added Notes and NoteWidget back.
Reodexed and zipaligned.
v1
Initial release.
Installation:
Enter recovery.
Flash C6603_10.1.1.A.1.253_DEBLOAT.zip.
Clear user data OPTIONAL STEP - SEE BELOW.
Reboot.
Say not to "Disable recovery flash" if asked.
Possibly reboot a second time once NFC firmware has been upgraded.
I had problems with NFC not working if I didn't clear user data the first time I upgraded from a version < 1.253. In order to clear user data follow this step:
Flash C6603_10.1.1.A.1.253_ClearData.zip.
These ZIP files and procedures have been tested by myself and a few others and seem to work. However, some people have also experienced issues, but since I don't know their exact setup it is impossible for me to pinpoint the source of these errors. FLASH THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Upgrade kernel and baseband:
Once the ROM is working you might want to flash kernel, fotakernel and baseband from the original FTF via Flashtool in order to get the full 1.253 experience.

Great, this is the first one deodexed and zipaligned, i am sure a lot of people will be interested.
EDIT: Ok, i didn't read well, it says Re-Odexed
Sorry, i'm a little confused, is this rom odexed or deodexed?

In changes for version 2 reodexed is written. Attentively read an original post.

Thanks, but what I meant was how to incorporate call recording into the ROM, is it something that can be done easily, e.g. editing build.prop, etc or any other method?
Cheers.
Update: I got the answer. Thanks.
picasa album sync is missing in google accounts and album view, is this due to bloat removal ?

I don't think so. Is that feature available on a normal Xperia Z stock ROM?
I think that the original Gallery app installs the required sync adapter. Also if you have Google+ installed it is replaced by Photo Sync.
hello Carceri would like to upgrade to v4 there some procedure to be performed?
