Is dat rom using edify sricpts?

For every rom that isn't gingerbread (2.3) you need to use recovery 2.5.

No, Amend. Use Clockworkmod from within ROM Manager for getting CWM 2.5 (This is over and above your current 3.x), else use Fastboot to remove your current 3.x and install 2.5 in its place.

cn all the apps move to the sd card?????????

you can try out my rom

Thanx For Replying

In CM7, Open ROM Manager (Or, if you are not in CM7, then download the app called ROM MAnager from the Market)
- Then Select Install Clockworkmod Recovery. This will install v2.5 on the SDCard
- Select Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager
- This will take you to Clockworkmod 2.5, then you can install this ROM.
By following this, you get to keep both recoveries, 2.5 (Select Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager App) and 3.x (Select Reboot into Recovery from the Phone-Switch-Off Menu)

+1 for jokerdroid, after using CM7 for 1 month. I cant live without sense dialer and contact manager, and jokerdroid is really fast and stable (I got 3.3mflops without JIT).

+1 JokerDroid 4.2 i have been using cm7 stable and nightlys for the last 2-3 months they are fast but had to many little bugs that pissed me off lol , never really used sense as had the phone for a couple of hours and rooted it and flashed cm7,JokerDroid 4.2= fast and very stable so far so for me this is the best rom i have used to date

that`s good !
yep ! one of the best roms that i`ve ever tried ! jokerdroid 4.2 ! so far so good since a week ago !

I tested CM7, but I missed some features from Sense. So I decide to use JokersDroid, but it hasn't got "insecure boot" (no rw mount). After everything I decided to use MoDaCo (it has busybox, so usefull). I replaced kernel to nfinity MC4 from johnseen99 (so I can OC buzz), removed some annoying apps, add JAVA and Livewallpapers from DK Rom, unlocked GoogleMaps and switched to GoLauncher EX.
I'm happy now

There is no zip
1. I flashed MoDaCo from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867937
2. Via recovery switched kernel to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=591094&d=1304950233
3. JAVA - unpack DK ROM - from /system/app copy Jbed.apk and libjbedvm.so from /system/lib -> via adb push them to similar folders. In /system/app are two files with "live" in name - copy them too (livewallpapers doesn't work in Sense)
4. Wifi indicator and Wavesecure removed via Titanium backup
5. Maps: http://mobileplanet-waryam.blogspot.com/2011/07/google-maps-v562-mod-with-world.html
6. Go Launcher - via Market
If some day I'd learn how to prepare full custom ROM - I''ll do it

Ok, there is two other ways to make it: using rootexplorer to remount /system partition with R/W, or adb shell to remount it manually (adb shell, su, and mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system)
As I have rootexplorer, even when I have to adb push something, I just open /system in rootexplorer and press "mount r/w" button.
Ed.:
I cant remember the correct number of mtdblock. You can check it with df command on shell, and it will give you all mounted partitions

[Q] Themes on HD2

Since we are not able to boot into recovery mode and run update.zip is there a way to manually apply themes to the Desire builds we are using?
Such as [MOD] Smooth Sense Icons v.1.0 (now with screenshots)
Thanks in advance.
+1
i have been asking this question since day 1..and no honest reply
I'd love to know how to skin android full stop I cant even get my hd2 to connect in usb mode
well...the only way to apply some themes is to replace framework-res.apk into system/framework/framework-res.apk...doing this with root explorer has no succes even if you ADB it..this will brick your build and u have to install again the whole system.ext2...!!everywhere is explaining that first phone must go into recovery mode to apply it..!!so,till now cant have any solution but only wait to make a function to have the possibility to run the phone into recovery mode..!!Be patient..soon we'll have it!

from what I've gathered a zimage is based around the kernal & drivers, with shubCRAFT you can connect via USB as long as its on debug.

It's possible to change framework-res.apk through the terminal, can't say this will work for everyone and it may completely screw your android build, so a titanium backup couldn't hurt. This was done on shubcraft 1.4d to theme back to stock android (if your looking for the framework, it's somewhere in the shubcraft thread).
1. Place your new framework-res.apk in the root of /sdcard.
2. Run terminal.
3. su
4. mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
5. cd /sdcard
6. cp framework-res.apk /system/framework
Reboot and hopefully success.

are for phones that can be rooted and flashed with recovery..for us on the hd2 we HAVE to adb every file 1 by 1...sucks..and even the terminal method..you will see errors on your phone..i wish darkstone would just say how he put the espresso on his rom.
Go to market and Download ROM Manager from Clockworkmod it's free.
Put the theme on the root of the SD
open ROM Manager
click install from SD
pick out the theme you just put it.
Reboot
themes are ROM/framework specific which is why certain themes are only available for certain ROMs. shu8i builds are based off of cyanogen and are therefore the easiest to theme IMO. I have done a theme thread for that particular set of builds and have had great feedback from users.
So FWIW, a theme cannot be applied to just any ROM. If you want to get into it, you will need to find and extract the .PNG files from the framework-res.apk , pull the framework-res.apk from the build you are currently running, replace the images, and replace the framework-res.apk in your build with the patched one with the new .PNG's
there are plenty of TUTs on XDA explaining how to theme, only difference is us HD2 users have to manually push the files instead of using the convenience of an update.zip that is flashable in recovery.
Moved you guys over to general.. Best of luck!

I understand that this thread is old, but I just found it. Trying to install a new framework-res.apk to my device using this method. I have it in a zip file (which is the format that would be used on a normal device to flash it from recovery mode).
Well I tried this; it lets me choose the theme (zip file) that I want, and it then prompts me to choose OK to reboot in recovery mode and continue the installation. Nothing happens when I choose OK.
Any further info on how to do this? What am I doing wrong?

[Q] any functional ROM (stock or any) that has Valid signature!

take a rom, open it with winrar or any extractor and take /system/fonts out of the zip..
(if you need sense fonts, use a flashable zip sense rom, otherwise AOSP)
AOSP fonts do also work on sense, the names are the same
root your phone..
then set up adb , some good guides here on the board..
connect phone with usb, no sdcard mounting
now:
Code:
adb remount
adb push yourfont.ttf /system/fonts
(repeat as long as you have ttf files: might work if you use *.ttf)
adb reboot
if you don't want to root, i don't know how to do it
EDIT: hope you are already rooted because with no fonts, how would you root your phone,
or install the necessairy files.. didn't notice it yet
grtz
that was not possible
i had to downlaod last rom at http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=283&act=sd&cat=all , install it back to 1.5, then upgrade all the way OTA till latest version for it (a.k.a 2.1) , now back to normal
unfortunately had todo it via windows

@Bashar, if you root it again and want to experiment. Make sure you got a custom recovery. Easier to solve mess I guess You can create back-ups of your normal ROM in it as well. Anyway, glad it is back to normal.

[THEME] ☢ BigDX Xoom ported for Iconia A500_1.141.07_COM_GEN1

Well after some attemps and a couple of hours killing and reviving my Iconia I just finally make a port of one of the Xoom themes.
This is a beta test, so please test and tell me if you find any bug or image missing.
Original XOOM theme, all images taken from his theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015434
NOTE: This is made and tested on A500_1.141.07_COM_GEN1 and dunno if it work on any other version
How to Install:
1. Download Zip attached. Since there is no way to flash custom update.zip I mod a sh script in order to auto-install this theme just with a few commands.
2. Unzip framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and installtheme.sh on /sdcard (internal sdcard, not microsd)
3. (You need root)
adb shell
su
cd /sdcard
sh installtheme.sh
4. enjoy and say thanks if you like my little work
reserved for updates and faq
just installed your theme using root explorer, just copied and paste.love the green instead of blue.thanks
just wanna say.thanks !
will this work for other firmware, can anyone confirm ? maybe those outside US ?
AND, i think now u can make .zip version of this theme as cwm is already working
works great on. german firmwre (Cus7)
Thanks for the theme. Seem to have trouble getting the wallpaper installed. Everthing else is perfect.
How can we change back to original theme?
Sent from my A500
Just replace the files with the same from your stock Rom.

If you took the time to actually read the OP, you'd see full instructions
Very nice but not stable , I tried it and checked the framework , it needs work .
After changing and adding some stuff I got it running now on my system, I also made a CWM flash .zip file so it installes very easy. Also added updated "launcher2.apk" fitting wallpapers.
So the cwm flash will update "systemui", "launcher2" and "framework" , it is close to the xoomblue mod but some things are not possible on the acer framework to run stable.
It should run fine on any rooted and busybox HC3.2 A500.
I will upload later if I got time
DO AT YOUR OWN RISK and clear you'r cache dalvik and battery stats before flash.
Here is the final result , It works supurb on my rom but I think it will work on any HC3.2 A500 and Packard Bell LIBERTYTAB rooted and busybox installed.
FLASH WITH CWM , CLEAR CACHE, DALVIK and BATTERYSTATS
And believe me it is more then framework and systemUI modding.

You just need to download the .zip from a few post above and flash with cwm.
The first post is a nice start but not stable. So don't use the script but use the cwm flash.
I know it is not the green mod but I'm working on it.
I'm starting new thread about this sorry to the OP , You gave me a good start.

- 3Gusb:
If the connection won't start use the ril-deamon-restarter.apk or when you put the 3Gusb in after boot ALWAYS use the ril-deamon-restarter.(3g icon in notification bar and mobile settings will be available in settings then)
It is possible you need to change APN settings in the mobile settings.
(I got a Huawei E1552 and it is working supurb)
Had to follow this tutorial to make my 3G dongle ready : http://vache-android.com/v1/index.ph...tutorialsID=12

You need to remove "com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk" in data/app and reboot.

This rom comes with custom kernel , if you'r not going to oc leave the one that is on there.
But I like the Thor Kernels, more clock settings.

Just flashed this one (I had your previous ROM on my tab), after wiping Data , Cache and dalvik. Netflix works, and camcorder does not crash. Tried Hulu using the default browser, at the site I got an error that said I had to upgrade my flash.
I am having a gps problem, no sats locking. It finds up to 6 sats.
Everything else is great! Thanks, just wanted to give some feedback
edit: uninstalled the flash apk and reinstalled it from your ROM and Hulu is now working!! Not sure what happened the first time.
Everything working as advertised and new boot animation is sick but i still have the su denied for setcpu at boot......

Do you have root explorer or any other app that can give you root access to /system/app?
Sent from my Sensation Rockin CoreDroid!
EDIT: If you do have an app that can access /system with root then do me a favor and try this. Go into /system/root and copy the superuser.apk that is located there. Paste it somewhere in either your sdcard or external sdcard. Then take the attached superuser.apk and move to /system/ and set the correct permissions(Verify old permissions of old superuser.apk before you paste.) Now do a reboot, and once booted back up go into settings/applications/manage applications/all applications and scroll down to superuser and clear out the data for superuser. Now go back into your root apps and setcpu and regrant everything superuser permissions and I'm willing to bet that your issues will be solved. Hope this helped.

It is not the battery mod , I got it running on mine .I got no SU problems.
This is how I install rom:
-Reboot in recovery
-Wipe DATA/reset to factory
-Wipe cache
-Wipe Dalvik
-Flash new ROM
-Reboot.
Better to wipe everything before you flash rom.
Sometimes I got SU denied after I restore my system with a Nandroid backup , then I only wipe cache and dalvik and flash the rom again that I'm using in that backup so I don't lose my data/setup.
I did a update of the SU bin and apk in the one I upload later , for the GPS I got really fast lock on , but I live in europe , I will update the gps config file in the updated rom for you guys in the states , if you cannot wait just use the link to the crypted gps in first post and update yourself.
Will be uploading MIX_3B = updated the SU bin and apk. and updated gps config to V2.0 , over her I have even faster gps lock , so thanks for the tip guys.
twice now my tablet ha shut down while in sleep.is there a setting I need to change.
And please let me know if there's a flash for stock font.
This is really good

[Guide] Create your own ROM (Beginners Welcome)

Did you Ever Wanted your Own Custom ROM? Did you don't understand other Guides? Do you don't Like ROM Kitchens? Than this Guide is the right Guide for you! Just Try It and you can create your Own Custom ROM!

General Information
So, Before we start with this Guide, i just want to tell you some General Informations about [highlight]Custom Roms[/highlight]. When you buy your phone, you will have a [highlight]Stock ROM [/highlight]installed. A [highlight]Stock ROM [/highlight] is just that Software, your Company has created, especially for your phone. It's a Software like Android 2.3.4 with Touchwiz 4 or Android 4.0.4 with Sony UI. Those Softwares may be good, but there are many Things to Improve, for the Best Xperience, while using your Phone. A [highlight]Custom ROM [/highlight]can be complete different to [highlight]Stock ROM [/highlight], like [highlight]Cyanogenmod 10 [/highlight], or be just a improved Version of the [highlight]Stock ROM [/highlight]. To Build a [highlight]Custom ROM [/highlight] you need to know a few Words, and have a Phone with Root Acess + S-OFF / Unlocked Bootloader. So in this Guide we will concentrate on the Easy Way, the [highlight]Improved Stock ROM [/highlight]. You Can also Build a [highlight]ROM [/highlight] out of Source from Google, but thats too complicated for beginners. Setting up compile envirment can be quite complicated . So let's take a look at stuff you need to know:
[highlight]Root Acess[/highlight]
Complete Acess to all System Files, like Administrator on Windows. To Root Your Phone, search XDA. Rooting your Phone is done by putting su library to /system and manage acess with SuperSu or Superuser. When you buy your Phone, it doesn't have Root Acess. Root Acess is needed for installing CWM, mount your /system as Read & Writeable ----> You can delete system files, and installing apps to /system/app, by copying them to /system/app. By Rooting your Phone you loose Warranty, but you can reinstall stock software and no one will notice
[highlight]ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM)[/highlight]
Recovery Mode of your Phone. In Recovery you can install flashable zips and roms, wipe and format your device, mount different partititons and fix permissions... To Get CWM search XDA. There are different Ways for every Device. You can enter recovery before your device is fully booted, and since touchscreen drivers are not yet available you need to use the volume buttons for controlling the recovery. There are different ways of entering cwm for every device.
[highlight]Rom & Kernel[/highlight]
ROM means: [highlight] Read-Only-Memory[/highlight] . The Funny Thing is that we can Read and Write on our Read-Only-Memory. Anyway, its a partition which includes large parts of the OS ----> operating system of your Phone. In a [highlight]ROM[/highlight] for Android Phones are included apps, framework, libs & many more and since android is modular, there is an app for everything (keyboard, launcher, statusbar). Together with a [highlight]Kernel[/highlight] it's the "Life" of your Phone.
The Kernel is needed for a working Phone. You Can Install Stock or Custom Kernel. When you buy a Phone Stock Kernel is preinstalled of course. The kernel includes many drivers, controlls the cpu and does many more... Just rember that word
General Information
1. Install Stock ROM to your Phone - This Can be Done by Flashing via Flashtool or Odin. You Need a Clean Base to Start. Recomnend is a Stable, Official ROM, like Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich or maybe Jelly Bean.
2. Root the ROM. This Can be done with Different Tools, Very Popular is for Example SuperOneClick Tool.
Just search for "my device name root" in xda if your not sure
3. Improve Stock ROM on Your Phone. So, After You Have Installed the Stock ROM and Rooted the ROM You Can Start. Now You Need To Change Some Things, To Make the Stock ROM to a Customized ROM. You Can do a lot Things, Here are a Few Examples:
- Install Latest Superuser SuperUser
- Install Latest BusyBox Auto-Installer
- Supercharge the ROM, enable Zipalign etc.. ----> here
- Remove Bloatware. Use Es File Explorer to remove not longer needed apps in system/app partitition
- Tweak Build.prop by going with ES File Explorer to /system and editing your build.prop. now you can change the Name shown in Settings and do a lot more ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227269
- Change the Bootanimation. You can find a lot of them by Going to themes and apps of your own device.
- Add or Change Apps. Check out Themes and Apps Selection of Your Device and Install a few Of Them, If You Are Allowed to use MooDeD Apps created by other Users
3.1 Now Delete/remove all backups in clockworkmod/backup folder
4. Now Make Sure You Have Installed CWM. If You Have Changed a Lot Things and You Think Your ROM is good enough, Boot to CWM, select wipe data/factory reset and Boot up again. If You Are Still able to Boot, Check the ROM for Bugs or Problems. Write them Down. Try to fix them. You can always take a logcat (adb logcat)
Than Boot again to CWM select wipe data / Factory reset ---> yes advanced ---> wipe battery stats ---> yes. Now Select backup & Restore ---> Backup.
5. Connect Your sd card to PC and go to Clockworkmod/backup folder. Now Go to the only 1 backup folder and copy "system.img" to your PC.
6. On PC Open Yaffey and Choose Open ---> system.img and than extract to empty folder called system.
7. Now You Will Get a Folder "system" which contains the System of your Phone. Now Create an Empty .zip file and paste in extracted Meta-inf folder Download and copy folder "system" inside. ROM should be flashable for NOW!
Remeber to mount /system before flashing // replace with mount Script for ur device... You can check this by dowoading any rom 4 ur device
NOTE: This has nothing to do with developmemt or original development in any way. Its theming a stock ROM in the simplest way...
Just Press thanks if this was helpfull in any way...
