So I've been running the official Mango release on my Surround for two days now (since launch), and I've had to pull the battery six times and hard reset because my phones frozen. This only seems to happen when I'm listening to music. The music stops and the phone no longer responds. Anyone else out there having this problem? Any fixes?
Thanks!

I upgraded my Surround to mango 7720 using the ansar app ( forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269895 ) and all was ok.
If you can not fix it try with this
Just before I updated to Mango (from Mango beta) I did a hard reset so I would have a clean install. Also made the backup process easy, as nothing was loaded on the phone during the update.
All three updates; Mango, Mango Beta Cleanup and HTC Firmware, went smooth and the phone works perfectly. No problems since I got it on launch day last November.

Noticed that Google Earth had recently come available on the marketplace for the Desire.
I have it installed but am unable to use it properly as my desire seems to randomly reboot whilst using it.
1st time I fired it up I zoomed in one level to find only a black screen and then it rebooted.
2nd time I tried I managed to zoom in to my location and then it just rebooted with no black screen this time.
I updated to the OTA update that HTC pushed out the same day so was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or whether my update has gone sour and should hard-reset.
Also (very weirdly), while I was downloading Google Earth my phone was on charge and downloading over GPRS and the device become very hot. The device actually rebooted whilst doing this as well and got stuck on the HTC boot screen after vibrating at me 4 or 5 times. This happened twice so I unplugged the power and seemed fime after that.
So what am I looking at here? Google Earth problem? OTA update has partially broken my phone? Faulty charger/faulty device?
Phone was running absolutely fine up until that OTA update and Google Earth install......
UPDATE: Ok it seems my phone is rebooting whilst on charge as well no matter what im running, seems to get extremely hot. Looks like my issues could be a dodgy OTA update. Anyone experienced the Google Earth issues i've stated though?
i cant find the Google earth on my market place.. I'm in vietnam now..how can i install this app?

no problems here, i've the official ota update no costum rom installed.
Thanks......
Working fine here. I had it installed before the OTA update and everything is working nice and smooth.
Google Earth appeared in my market only 2 days after the update. I downloaded and it seems to be working fine, no issues. I have an unlocked unrooted Desire
Just installed earth on my updated unbranded unmoded desire and it works fine, I believe others have the same charging issue as you though.

Couldn't install the SDK6 version on my HTC Desire. It started installing but broke at the end, and left 92 images of icons in my photo gallery.
I'm having problems as well. The official link to mobile installation doesn't work, and I cannot find it on market either. Very annoying!
The .apk linked above does not seem to install either. Any other ideas, anyone?
installed it on stock rom no problem, used ut for a couple of days and deleted it, taking up to much space !
UPDATE:
I uninstalled Google maps updates because I thought it might be a very similar program and therefore interfering with Earth installation - and it worked!
Hello. I am new having just bought a Galaxy Note. ICS was released in New Zealand yesterday and I Installed it. Now the live wallpaper picker is crashing the phone leaving me with a blank screen and message saying the live wall paper picker is not working. How do I fix this please? How to I roll back to Gingerbread, or reinstal ICS?
I too have installed ics on my device and now m facing lots of problems. Just to start with my WHATSApp is not loading contacts.
It takes time to open camera.
Phone stops responding while reading emails.
Keyboard input problems
Please some one do help us.
Is there any way to again go back to my 2.3.6.
One mo thing face detection and other features are disabled by Samsung in his ics update.

You would have to use PC Odin to roll back to stock Gingerbread. Look up Drketan's thread in Android Development (it's stickied). It will give you step by step details.
I had the same problems too....but did a soft reset....now is crashing much less
ICS is smoother than GB on my note.
Experienced same issues like yours. But after Factory reset /data wipe everything is running fine...
Sharing My experience only... I AM NOT RECOMMENDING IT.
Problem fixed
I did a hard reset on the phone which made no difference. I also did a soft reset which also did not help. So I uninstalled all of the live wallpapers which fixed the problem. I have reinstalled a few but not nearly as many as I originally had. All is well now. I guess some of the free LWP were a bit flakey? However, the problem only appeared under ICS, and my wife's identical phone has many more installed but still running GB. She has no problems at all, and so far is refusing to upgrade to ICS.
After upgrade to ISC..I do factory reset first..its reduce the laggy.. .. now my device work fine. ISC > GB now.
I think by using Titanium back up to disable programs helps to free up a lot of memory which makes it not laggy
Hey guys,
I've upgraded from S4 to S5 and the most noticeable (negative) change is that the camera takes significantly longer to start (from 1-2 seconds on S4 to 4-5 seconds on S5).
A couple of seconds might not sound a lot, but it is very frustrating when you want to capture the moment, and because your camera is taking forever to start, you miss it.
I know 2 other friends who has this complaint as well. Are there are any solutions to make the startup faster?
Thanks in advance
the lastest update firmware fix this issue, it improves camera speed, mine takes only 2-3 seconds to start up (with external sd card), its faster without sd card.
I do have the latest update I believe (when I check for updates, it says it's up to date).
i would recommend you to flash firmware, not ota update. or you could back up your apps and do factory reset to see if there is any improvement

My stock OS opens the camera fast, after the update it became3x slower. I should have not updated. I'm thinking the culprit is the first update because the phone prompted the first update the instant it first time it connects to the internet. I only did the updates after a month since I have no issues. But then the second update was already available and I thought to myself that I should not miss more than 1 update. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don;t fix it.
that's why i would recommend to reflash latest stock firmware, i personally don't trust ota update

Just got my alert for it too. But I have learned, the hard way, to wait for others to go first.
Just make sure you uninstall any Substratum themes before you take the update.
Also ALWAYS have a good reliable connection. Bad service is the number one way an OTA gets botched up. It fragments the download and can cause all sorts of wonky stuff.
Just did the download myself. Installed fine. No issues.
Camera has a new live focus helper... Seems a bit useless, but I guess if people were having big issues with it then it might be helpful.
Also just for anyone who is interested

I updated about an hour ago without issue, but I had that camera feature before today. It appeared after I did a factory reset about two weeks ago.
Anyone know if this had the KRACK fix in it? Verizon's got this in their update along with the Nov Sec update and Live Focus update, just last week .
I've had a issue with the gallery since the update before this one. When scrolling through it randomly jumps back up or is almost unresponsive to my touches. The only way to scroll smoothly is by using the blue scroll button on the side. It's incredibly frustrating! I've done a factory reset and and it still occurs, even after this update.
It only occurs in the gallery app btw

In the settings menu of the Gallery app, are the first two settings turned on? I think this happened on mine a while back (although I'm not sure I'm remembering correctly) and I turned off the Samsung cloud sync and image analysis and it stopped. If this doesn't work, I must be thinking of something else. Sorry.
Edit: I have all the options in settings turned off and my gallery seems ti be working smoothly.
Faceunlock still broken for me with exchange EAS
No update for me yet. Anyone else still yet to receive?

I recently bought the blue colour version of azmpm1, and as usual it was having the same multi touch bug and below average front camera, then I checked for updates and first it downloaded around 560mb update and after installing it I again checked for updates and it installed the latest 19/09 update, so my phone updated only twice but now even if I'm on latest firmware the previous bugs like multi touch and poor camera performance are still present, I compared to my friend's phone who bought the phone very early and has got each and every update, it's like my phone skipped the updates in between where those bugs were fixed, I need help if anyone knows about it.
