[Q] Android 2.3.3 on XPeria X10i: Where is the automatic activation of LED Camera? - XPERIA X10 General

(Sorry the english. I used the google translator)
Hello everyone!
A few days ago I upgraded my XPeria X10a (branded) Android 2.1 to version 2.3.3. The new version of ROM is XPeria X10i (debranded). The ROM was obtained right here at XDA, but it is official.
Everything is working fine since then, but yesterday I decided to take a picture in low light conditions, and the LED lighting (which I call a camera flash) did not activate automatically. I'd Look for an option in the settings and saw that there is an option to "turn on the flashlight." By turning on the "flashlight", the LED was turned on and activated continuously.
I'm absolutely sure that when I first bought the phone (Android version 2.1, i guess, before upgrading to 2.3.3) and tested a photo, and remember that the LED was turned on automatically in low light condition, and this does not seem longer be happening.
I wonder if this is a bug or a feature is removed from the new version of Android, or if I did something wrong when I upgraded.
This sounds silly, but so far I'm loving the new Android and was wondering if I did something wrong.
I am willing to give more information if you need it.
Thank you!

Pretty sure we never had flash with any stock firmware. You had to use a third party app.

Yeah, always had to turn on the flash manually with stock camera.

MDA Compact II (Charmer) camera problem

Hi guys
I recently bought an MDA Compact II and was really disappointed with the camera, as it is too dark and practically unusable when there is no sunlight.
But that's not the problem. The problem is that I also got one for my girlfriend cos she needed a GPS for the car and....surprise...the camera (i.e. brightness) is 1000 times better! ALL the settings are the same, however hers will automatically adjust the brightness much more and make it much lighter (very nice actually) when there is not much physical light. Mine also makes automatic adjustments but to a much much smaller level.
The only differences these phones have, are:
1. I have installed the updated ROM on mine
2. I have SIM unlocked mine
Any ideas?
Could it be the ROM? If so, do you think I can find the old rom anywhere?
Thanks very much.
I have just updated my Charmer to the newest ROM last night and found the same degrade in camera quality too, though it isn't too bad like yours but still worse and darker than the original shipped ROM.
I'm using the latest uk t-mobile rom and my camera seems fine.
I'm guessing yo have played with the Adjustment option to change the brightness, contrast etc?
should make a huge difference
camera problem still
I too have just installed the latest T-mobile upgrade, and the camera is very dark...and yes I've fiddled with the settings. The camera patch sounds great, but won't run....it comes up with an unsuccessful message...anyone any thoughts?

I successfully installed the patch on my phone, but it didn't make any difference at all (at least not for the better!)...So the problem remains...which is a shame, considering it is (apparently) coming from the firmware and not the hardware!
i solved the problem on my mda compact II on t-mobile (uk) all i did is changed the home screen settings and removed the t-mobile bit and went back to normal theme and now camarah is perfect this has worked on 2 others as well lol so i guess there is a prob with the t-mobile customisation software
Hi... I had the same problem... I changed the Flicker Filter Option from auto to 50hz and it works!!!!!!
Please try and reply

Android 2.3.3 on XPeria X10i: Automatic activation of Camera's LED?

I really sorry my mistake, but my last thread was closed too quick. I need to discuss about this.

New informations...
My old rom was the original XPeria X10a. The brand carrier was TIM and the Android version was the last official version of Android on this phone, Android 2.1 i guess. To activate the camera i press the camera hardware button until the phone vibrate and that time, when the camera was focusing the object (my mother ehehe) the LED was turned on and when the photo was taken the LED blinks and turn off. This behaviour is happening on the XPeria X10 min pro from my girlfriend, exactly like my old XPeria X10a branded ROM.
Please, this is very strange and must be known by everyone. THERE ARE a X10 official ROM with automatic camera LED switch, and this is not a guess, this is an affirmation. So, what is this ROM? How to "patch" my actual ROM to get the correct behaviour of camera LED?

[Q] LED Flash Lagging with Applications

Hi all,
I bought a Samsung GT I9500 and I noticed that whenever I put an application such as an LED Flash Light or LED Flash Notifications (like flash blink) for some reason or other it slows the whole phone down it practically freezes up entirely and after a long wait the flash finally comes on. This only happens the first time if I was to put the flash off and on continuously it would be a bit snappier but would still be noticeably lagging. This doesnt happen with the camera btw when taking pictures the flash works just fine. It only seems to be occuring like this when another application is involved.
The phone is still under warranty do you think I should ask for a change of phone or do you think its a ROM issue? Although it is occuring with both stock and modified roms (im using WANAM rom).
Thanks
I work nights so I rely on the torch in my phone for all kinds of things. The SOLE reason why I cant use custom kernals is my ultra bright torch app crashes on anything but stock kernal.
This is your answer - flash the repackaged stock kernal from Wanam and it should be much better. I had the exact problem you did an now its fine.
Hi thanks for your reply,
I reflashed the repackaged kernel but the flash blink application keeps lagging or in some cases it doesn't flash at all probably because it takes too long for the flash to start up only the camera application works flawlessly with the flash so far. Any other suggestions guys? Or perhaps a problem with the handset?

[Q] Extremely poor quality of camera when video chatting

I got an att lg g2 a few days ago with stocked firmware 80010d. Everything worked very well. I then flashed my cell to att 4.4.2 kitkat (80020c) with lg flash tool. The updating process should be successful because I strictly followed a video tutorial and everything is expected.
After flashing I realized that the picture quality of both front and back camera are very poor in some video chatting software (I used Wechat and Hangout). How poor it is? Most of the time my picture is totally black unless you put a light source in front of the camera (both front and back camera are experiencing the same thing). It seems the brightness level of the camera is set to its lowest value so everything is dark, and there is no way to adjust it in the video chatting software. (I do try to set the ISO and brightness to maximum level in camera app, but nothing is changed). Attachments show screen captures in Hangout with or without a light source in it.
Occasionally (it happened once when I had the phone fully charged), the brightness level is good, but the picture quality is extremely low. It seems the camera resolution is only 0.1MP instead of 2MP.
The camera itself works very well taking pictures or videos. It is only bad in video chatting. I searched hard on google but it seems my case is very rare. Is there some settings or adjustments I can do to fix this problem? I know my question is too long, Thank you for any advice.
Guess this is really rare. I will roll back to 10d and see what happens.
My wife's new LG G2 is doing the same thing and she is on stock kit Kat uprooted, came f e on AT&T on 10C, I'm using ClodyPro II on mine and mine works fine. Her problem is exactly like yours

So found a fix, just did it for my wife's G2 which as I said has the same issue, or had. I used the Flashtool to taker her back to 10d then I rooted, installed recovery, updated recovery, and flashed the 10d to 10c keep root and recovery in the AT&T G2 Dev Section, after I backed up first and preformed the install I immediately did a factory reset to wipe data, cache, and dalvik before I rebooted from recovery. Once it was set up, I tried hangouts and the camera looked just like mine, great!! Thought I'd share

lg g2 issue in wechat after kitkat update
Even i'm experiencing the same **** in with my g2 after kikat ota update..... pls anyone have a solution
I am also having the same issue. I use wechat and stock kitkat not rooted. I think it's happening to a lot of us, so it isn't rare. Is there a solution yet? If not, can we get together and maybe report it.
Thanks.

Did one of you already found a solution?
I just got a brand new G2 and the front camera is really bad when using video chat.
Using stock 4.4.2
My old htc phone was much better.
Same problem... sh*t AT&T......

Galaxy s5 neo SM-G903F camera seems to lag behind in the flash.

First i am sorry for my english
My problem.
When i use the flash to take a picture in low light or darkness my pictures come out black or reaaaaly dark.
The flash either goes off to fast or is to short. It only seems like a micro second.
When i focus the camera it does emit the light to focus.
The solution i found.
Well to be honest i have no idea how to use it.
It is some sort of code and i am a complete idiot at that
I am running
(Stock) Android 6.0.1
Kernel 3.10.61-8140803
Build number MMB29K.G903FXXU1BPE2
Camera firmware is stock
CAM FW version K16LLIA00SM
Load FW version K16LLJA01SC
PHONE FW version K16LLJA01SC
I am getting very annoyed by this problem and the fact that i spend 3 hours searching for a solution i cant apply had me mad as hell.
Edit: forgot to metion i tried all options i could think of with the camera setting. Even downloaded a 3rd party program called camera vf5
I am hoping you are able to help me
