Facebook like - Xperia Play General

Hi for some reason my facebook like button dont work in my music player. when I click it, it says unable to post to facebook. I have rooted r800i with unlocked bootloader, could that be the reason.
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my R800i using XDA App

That is the reason: unlocking the boatloader wipes the DRM certificates from the phone and disables that functionality.

I have an R800i UK with the latest firmware, unlocked bootloader, rooted and Doomlords kernel on / overclocked and i just tried my music likes and it worked.
Never used it before now but just wanted to test and try help lol.

You didnt unlock your bootloader the official way then....

i unlocked if off Sony Ericssons website.
when i flashed the new Firmware does that re-enable the bootloader? if so then i dont have an unlocked bootloader anymore and that would explain it lol

From what i know, once you unlock your bootloader, You loose the DRM certificates for life. Even if you relock they can't be recovered. Maybe you have come across a glitch lucky sod
Btw flashing new firmware does not relock your bootloader

Your phone wasnt branded or sim locked though right?

Check if the Qriocity store and TrackID work as well, if possible.

Are the DRM certificates unique to each device? I mean if his still work on an unlocked bootloader. can we not use his to get everyone's working?

Thats right. Its unbranded and not locked to any network (All phone from the Carphonewarehouse are unbranded and unlocked to any network)
Track ID works and im not sure what the Qriocity store is

Ok logseman. I just tried the qriocity video store on my play. and it seems to work. It certainly gives me the option to buy movies. And will let me watch trailers.

Have you actually bought one? That's when it fails for me. The app runs and so on, but I never got to buy anything.

I might try later. I didnt want to spend £12 on a movie i didn't really want to find out

There are cheaper purchases, I tried renting a movie for €2

It wud be great if we could use your drm certs to get ours working. Its the only downside to unlocking bootloader.
Does any1 know if we can update our phones using official methods yet, as u know b4 this used to brick our plays, I read somewhere that sony has updated to allow us to.

My Xperia play won't start

Hello,
I've rooted my xperia play a few weeks ago, no problem.
But this morning a system update poped up, and I started it, and my xperia play went off, en doesn't start anymore
I've tried flasher, it works, till it has been flashed, and I have to disconnect my xperia play with the computer, hold the on button and plug it again in, it doesn't start.
Can anyone help me please?
Sounds like you might have to flash a new firmware. I am by no means an expert with the play but check the dev section for flashing a new image.
Or, call your carrier and let them know that their update bricked your phone.

I had my xperia play rooted, and I had app planet on my phone,
Doesn't have that any consequence?
Have you unlocked your bootloader when rooting?

Yeah, I think so, is that a problem?
This might sound insulting and is not directed at you in any derogatory manner.

Well I take you haven't unlocked your bootloader cause that would be a procedure you would remember doing.
If you used gingerbreak to root your bootloader is not unlocked.
You would have needed your imei no. and an unlock key from SE and fastboot commands to unlock your bootloader and flash a rooted FW

I had needed those think you said, imei no. unlock key etc.
So I think I have unlocked my bootloader
But when I want to update my xperia play from the pc, it says:"The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated."
Is there any possible way that I could unbrick my xperia play, ore should I just return it to the shop I bought it?
So you did a **** load of searching to find out how to unlock your bootloader & root but completely skipped the many threads stating that UPDATING WITH AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER WILL BRICK YOUR XPERIA PLAY?!
Epic fail.

I see, afaik there's no fix that totally unbricks it. You can make it boot again but it will brake the radio. So no phone functions, calls, sms and such will not work.
You could read through this thread there's some help to get here and I think one or two gas restored there phone completely with this thread.

you can rescue your play at the expence of your radio using this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056094, as it stands we have no radio.img's to flash so i dont know how long it will be before you can restore it totally

Just say the battery died & it won't turn back on.

I wouldn't worry, just tell them what deadlydazza said or that it died under an update, wich is what happened. Just leave out anything about rooting and unlocked bootloader, cause it did void your warranty.

Successfuly Telcel Carrier Arc SIM/Bootloader unlocked and FASTBOOT enabled by SETool

Well as simple as that.
I have an Arc with Telcel Mexico, which is factory locked and all this stuff.
Now after unlock sim with SETool i get unlocked bootloader and fastboot enabled.
SETool is a paid software so I can recommend to find some person who have this tool and asking for unlocking SIM by Testpoint
Cheers

As Flo95 says, if you buy the phone on factory store unlocked for any carrier yes, it will be able to start oin fastboot mode, and this way you will be able to unlock the bootloader by official way.
If the phone its not factory unlocked, I mean locked or unlocked by IMEI code, then only way to unlock the bootloader is SETool by testpoint.
lock it a great news but .....
hello.
i have a orange branded arc.
i purchase it in used not box pack.
when i purchase it, its sim unlock already i don't know from which method it done
but it is not connecting in fast boot.
then how can i unlock my boot loader, because sim are unlock already but not from SEtools.
and what we need to do with setools please tell us it step by step
With powered off arc, press menu key and connect to pc with usb cable, if the led is blue you can unlock by official way.
If not, it just is unlocked for network by imei code.

great, this guide helps me to create a backup of my generic fw .62
after creating a backup I downgraded my fw to .42 via wotan server,my question is will this also works on backing up my current fw w/c is .42? Im just confused coz i think update service will just download the .62 fw because that was the latest version.
sadly after rooting, I am unable to update to .62 via OTA. the phone datects that there is an update (.62) but it wont let me do it OTA. it says I need to used PC companion.

I'll give it a shot later and see, just have to figure which files to exclude after getting root. I'll let everyone know.
what the difference? from the first release? any notation given by TMO?
Can someone test if this rootkit work on 10.3.1.E.0.191?
It uses master key exploit (bug 9950697) and if Sony didn't fix it we can root .191 without flashing old kernel.

It likely wouldn't work, but it might. The baseband on the 6602 is very similar, but not exactly the same. If you used flashtool and SKIPPED baseband and kernel, it MIGHT work on the 6603 and 6602, but there is a risk of brick from what I understand. This phone is my daily and I haven't backed it up yet, but I might try it - with a locked bootloader you can't REALLY kill it, it's relatively safe (emergency recovery?) I have a 6603, and I've flashed 6606 baseband only in the past. The phone boots but once it initializes the radio, crashes. (likely because the kernel drivers for the radio are different then what baseband expects.)
This also may have been covered before and I would like to know if my above statement is true.

I am rooted but I have found a way to do so in a rather abnormal way.
I use xz recovery app to get to twrp. I have rooted the phone using Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v33
This method I use works 100% all the time.
I have a locked bootloader so this routine I use seems to be the only method to work.
WHen I need, I use flashtool to restore everything to stock.
I think the newest update with ftf would be the next best step for be to acquire.
I dont like trying to flash kernels. Too much involved. This particular phone has posed a huge troublesome step by step method to get it where it is now.
To go and learn new methods would be a daunting task.

[FTF][4.3] SGP311 10.4.B.0.577 Generic US (1272-7479)

Here is an FTF of the Generic US version of Android 4.3, 10.4.B.0.577 for the SGP311 (16 GB Wi-Fi Version). This is a RAR file split into 2 parts; you'll need to download both parts, then extract them using WinRAR (or a similar program). Of course, you need Flashtool to flash this FTF. Here's the Flashtool thread.
Technical Details/(somewhat) Nerdy Stuff:
Android Version: 4.3
Build Number: 10.4.B.0.577
Model Number: SGP311
Branding: Generic US
Customization Number: 1272-7479_R3B
The usual blah blah blah applies with this file (works with all SGP311s, doesn't unlock bootloader, no root required etc etc etc).

It might, but I would advise against flashing this on a SGP312 in case you don't get your full 32 GB of storage, or some other unfortunate occurrence.
Does it make any difference if i bring it up to 4.2.2(10.3.1.c.0.136) first?

No, you shouldn't have to. Going straight from 4.1 to 4.3 should work without a hitch.
Anybody know of keeping or getting root yet?

No root method or root preservation methods have been discovered yet.
Rooting
Actually, you can root your tablet Z with the same method as Xperia Z line. That is:
- Unlocked bootloader
- SuperSU update zip file
- Flashtool
- FTF file
- Kernel with CWM, like theonefrom FreeXperia
I can tell, because I got mine rooted and recovered all my apps and data with Titanium. Just search on the forum for the topic.
Has the US WiFi 16gb version been updated officially? Or only through flashing

Ah. I haven't seen any OTA updates. I obtained via PCC.
Hey everyone quick question here..... Why is there 2 different files? I flashed the first one successfully, but the second one seemed to get stuck when I tried flashing it immediately after. Regardless, I simply rebooted, and it seems fine without the second file. Just wondering if I did that right or if the second .ftf file is required..... Thanks in advance!

You need to download both parts and extract them, so you have the full file... Not sure how you flashed without the second part...

Sorry, I figured it out.... I didn't realize how the part1/part2 thing works with winrar.... Thanks!
thanks for posting this. For whatever reason my tablet says it is up to day and there are no new updates etc. But it is still on 4.2.2
Would anyone still happen to have this file? I am looking for a US version FTF for my SGP311 that I screwed up by flashing the latest Lollipop FTF.
