So I spent a good 4 hours last night (didnt get to bed until 3 AM), reading all about the Touch HD, etc. I ordered mine on Monday and it arrives today. I am really excited as I have wanted this device for a while.
Anyway, I initially had no interest in trying some sort of "cooked" version of WM 6.5 but after lookin at the screens, seeing a few videos, I think I may want to pull the trigger.
From what I gather it looks that "Miris" 6.5 ROMS are the way to go? I am certain I have the proper sticky thread. Here is where I get way confused. How does one load these up to his/her devices? Are there "how-to" attached to these ROMS? Any help would be much apreciated.
My last venture into Windows Mobile was with my old school Samsung Blackjack. I have been a loyal Apple fan up until now.

Miri is one of the well known chefs here. Others include Dutty, although he has moved to www.htcpedia.com. Once the flashing bug bites you can try a few different ones and see which one best suits your needs.
Anyway the best How to guide can be found here.
Take your time and read it through carefully. If you follow each step fully then you should not go wrong and you won't be sorry, the cooked roms are so much better than stock. (We will stay away from commenting on your last phone LOL

As for the 6 that voted No, have fun with your new EVO or Nexus One. I'm sure the $300-$400 is going to buy a great phone, but I'm going to hold off on it for a while.

Absolutely, positively yes.
The GSM Hero and the CDMA Hero are completely different phones. More different, at least that the Sprint Hero and the Verizon Droid Eris. (In fact, if there was ever a reason to put two phones in the same forum, it would be the Sprint Hero and the Eris. They're the same damn thing with different colored plastic...)
Sprint may not be the biggest carrier, but they're still not small. The Sprint Hero deserves the same treatment as any other phone....

I don't know that I would have offered them 50.00.
And in fact it's NOT hard to create subsections for this. This bulletin board software is fairly standard. Probably take 10 minutes to create stuff. Getting the mods to move threads around would take a while, sure, but the subfora would be ready and usable in the meantime.

I agree. The subforum was a good idea when the GSM Hero had just been released and a CDMA version was still just a rumor, but now it is really its' own device with its' own community. We have no use for any of the GSM forums, all we have is this one dinky forum that expands at a collossal rate every day.

You should understand that phones such as the Wallaby and Apache(although not the XDA line) are some of the original HTC phones and those forums are what started XDA. The Apache was HTCs first major entry into the US CDMA market. XDA-developers has historically been for GSM phones(ie,XDA's) with CDMA hacking based over at ppcgeeks.com. Threads for the Apache are in the thousands there.
Only since the CDMA hero has there been real active dominant development of any cdma phone done here....
it would be nice to just separate the general talk from the dev talk... I used to think this was a dev forum and everything else should go in hero general talk, the general user base reminds me otherwise on a daily basis.
Lord help you if you actually suggest a topic be moved, people start accusing you of acting like a self proclaimed mod. I've pretty much given up posting in this section because of it.
LOL. Seriously??? The EVO is coming out this summer and 25% of the hero community will be leaving immediately and then another 25% will leave for it in 6 months after that!

So here we go. My development is over - I'm done with it and want to tell you something about me before I leave (of course I will be here, but only sometimes and won't make any more projects). Why I need to end this all? This is a question. I told that on my DX8 thread on X10 development section - my hands have Carpal Tunnely Syndrome and I fighting with this for about few month or so. Now it's pretty nice, I'm holding myself and pain is not so bad and not hurting me everyday (only sometimes).
But what can I say about myself? It's very hard, but I will try to tell you everything I remember best:
I've started my adventure with Android after I bought Xperia X10 something like ~2 years ago. It was very nice choose and I started to learn some "noob-edits" like deleting officiall 2.1 apps (after I update it from 1.6) to make my X10 faster. Never heard about XDA yet. Then I started to write some first posts on my blog (which is old and closed already for months). I posted there my opinion about X10, my first news of Xperia family, and more. Then I get proposition from one forum to be VIP there. Now, heh, it's my forum . I worked there about Gameloft games etc. to make X10 better (won't tell where etc. cause on XDA it's not allowed - let's tell that my past is not "clean" - it's warez and hackers job yeah. Then I was asked to make some first steps on XDA, writing threads, make myself more international etc. Like you see - it was nice idea . But let's go back. After I close my blog I need to sell my first X10, but one of the best guys here, and very polite and fair friend, mohibb bought me one X10, to make my back-to-job possible. Then I back with some DiXperia for X10 users, can't remember which one. The development on XDA and my forum growed more and more, YT channel too, and my blog was already closed....And then, some time after I bought Xperia Play, and started to play with Play . Made DiXperia number first, then DiXperia 2, which is my last project in Android developping. Now, because of hands problem, I need to end this all and I think you respect my decision and you're happy to use (or used before) any of my ROM, and your device was better at least than Stock ROMs . All last threads like DX8 for X10 and DX2 for Play are complete in 10000% and I think the best fans or polite guys here will help all new persons here, with some bugs or anything else - I'm counting on you guys, cause I will be here only for free-talking about spam-features D), not for development or some new updates. I still remember well,your rom dixperia 7 was the first custom rom I used. That started my craze to flash almost every single rom available,because of dixperia 7 my love for the x10 grew.,when I almost gave up on it.
Dikej,your one of the best developers the x10 ever had,and its sad to see you end development but I understand. ,personal life and health is far much more important.

I came to x10 one year ago and to xda and dikeJ about two months ago (when you released dixperia 8)
my first one was dixperia 7, dixperia 8 Sb and lots of others.... noone reached yours... now on dixperia 8 Sstyle and im simply lovin it.
Buddy im sad that you leave but 17 isnt too much to start a real life without all the programmin things... cause in the end its just a phone, so I hope that you can look forward without tears and also look back without.

I always nice to read which person lives behind 'the developer'.
Altough I never used one of your ROMs, i always read something good about them.
Even that I wasn't a DXperia-user (during DXperia 6, I was on Trips ROM), you've given me a great x10. Why, you ask?
Because you were developing at a high level, other developers were also working at high level. So therefor: every ROM became great ROM. It's because developers learned from each other and helped each other. So there was a benefit for me
Ofcourse, real life is more important. So i wish you all the best.
