Battery life on MIUI - Post your experience - Galaxy S II General

I am getting about 3 - 4 days of average usage out of a 100 % charge, running MIUI 1.8.19. I will continue to update this thread with confirmed findings of MIUI users posted here. Other than that, happy flashing!
People experiencing battery drain issues please post the following:
Your running kernel ([email protected] if you didn't flash anything on top)
CPU spy screenshot of a drain (from 100 % to like 20%, you can get CPU spy from market)
Screenshot of stats from the battery monitor in settings
Did you perform a battery recalibration after flash? (Charging the phone to 100 % in off mode, then boot)
My recommendations on increasing battery life:
Keep data on off whenever you don't use it. WiFi does not seem to have battery drain issues, use that instead if you are at home.
Disable albumart and lyrics download in music player, when you dont use it.
The media server can go crazy on battery drain - Even if you don't listen that much to music.
Use another launcher than the standard one. Sometimes in rare occations (happened for me twice though) the launcher keeps the phone out of deep sleep. I have had good results with Go Launcher.

Easy Alternative,
Download Battery Calibration from the market (Free) and install
Do a continuous charge the phone from AC charger recommended instead PC USB to 100% while its on
Follow instruction of the application and rate it well before uninstalling (the app creator made our life easy for free)

You are in the wrong forum, this is the SGSII forum.
But to help you anyway: Using 2G instead of 3G helps alot on the SGS1.

Battery Indicator not accurate

Anyone has the problem where the battery indicator is not accurate? I'm using QM's digital battery indicator and the percentage doesn't seem to change after a while.
I have to do a soft reset for it to be updated. And it will stay updated for a while before it "hangs" again.
Anyone knows how to deal with this?
Thanks!
I have the same problem. There is some mysterys with bettery percentage indications. Sometimes it's stay at on place for a hours and in other cases could run every minute down. What could be a reason for this? Maybe it's problem with battery?
Can't confirm this with my device. The default indication works just fine. Tried also Batti for a few days and no problems occured, progress bar showed correct information and even the temperature info seemed to be perfectely believable... I don't know what the QM's digital battery is but looks like the problem might be in that program...
2ArMikael: Probably nothing new for you, but just for sure - consumption hugely deppends on actual ussage, biggest drainers are GPS and Wi-Fi each of these can completely drain your battery within few (~4?) hours. Also check for processes with permanent CPU ussage on background etc.
2Dair, you right, that's not new for me. I'm not so stupid.
That's the catch that the battery going down even with turned of wireless protocols, GPS and programms at all.
But maybe it's a problem of a new battery. Last few days, after a full discharge of battery this problem disaperead. Battery percentage showings seems like a normal.
So guys, if you have a new phone don't forget to do a full dischage and recharge before you take it hard.
I've stopped running QM, however, it seems frozen still. Do you think I might need to uninstall it, or even do a hard reset?
Ethermind has created a new batterydriver for Xperia which also seems to be working really nicely on other devices.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513480
It shows, with the right icons, the exact percentage of your battery in steps of 1%.
Read his thread to get more info.

picture grabbed from Ethermind's thread
I've tested it with gtrab's SEX1 1% increments Battery ENHANCER
with Windows Mobile 6.5 taskbar icons and it works just dandy!!!!
All the credits go to Ethermind for creating the driver!!! Many thnx
And if you use gtrab's wm6.5 taskbar icons with the driver don't forget to thank gtrab!

40 Hours On A Single Charge

My EVO is rooted and running on the newest DC rom.
Background:
K-9 Push
Clock
Weather (3 hr refresh interval)
Battery Widget
Advanced Task Killer (Autokill level:Safe)
Foreground:
Youtube (20 mins use)
Phone (40 mins use)
Market (~10 mins use)
Camera, Gallery, Internet etc. (<20 mins)
Idle rest of the time
The most important tweak, imo, is the use of "startup cleaner" to remove startup apps which are not needed.

Thanks for the tips, I already have 3 extra batteries on order just incase this jazz doesn't work
I'm hearing great things about the DC ROM in terms of battery life. I'm getting horrible battery life on Fresh 1.0.1 but I think it's due to some of the Kernels I've been testing out.
Which one are you using specifically?!

I m on DC 3.2.3 and using "Equal performance/Battery" profile.
I'm afraid to update from DC 3.2 because I've gotten better battery life on this ROM than anything in the past. I easily get 24 hours before the battery goes. I'm just waiting for CM6.

Weird battery loss to 0%

Hello folks.
On my 2nd Nexus 4 device i have a massive battery loss since yesterday.
On this device there is no root since i unboxed it. So kernel and rom couldn't be the problem.
Here is a screenshot of the battery chart:

You may try installing BetterBatterStats and CPU Spy to determine which app(s) drains your battery. Unchecking wifi location in settings/location services will help to lower the battery consumption.

Seems unlikely an app would be able to instantly drain a battery from such a level...Unless of course the battery's levels are not being correctly read... In this case a factory reset might help... If it doesn't, it's probably a hardware defect.
Found this and this with several people complaining about the same problem.. No solution so far, except the suggestion to change the battery...

I highly recommend you guys to disable it if you want your battery to be better ?
How was your actual battery life with it on? I've been running Fit on my phone since the first Nexus 6 port was available. While it does hold a wakelock the hit to battery wasn't all that bad considering what the app does. I average maybe 30 minutes or less SOT time with the app turned on from 630 am to 1030 pm. I was impressed as I thought I'd be recharging shortly after lunch.
Will it still drain if I don't use it but have it installed. Somehow I see notifications on my moto 360 from fit.
Use Greenify Dude !!!

It working without notification in backgriund. I belive only solution , if You don´t want to use it, is to freeze or uninstall this wih TiBu.
EDIT: looks like it is possible to disable Fit ( maybe ), under settings> Google Fit Data>and turn off Activity detection. I belive then it wont work ay more.
EDIT: nope...still working
Guys, it's not affecting battery. Don't constantly look for issues. I use Google Fit (cause I have a Moto 360) and it doesn't affect normal usage so therefore it's not an issue. If it WAS an issue it'd show in the battery graph and you'd kill your battery in a couple of hours - THAT would be an issue!

Yeah me too. I don't see any difference with or without Fit.

There is not going to be any noticable drain because the app is using the low power core. It's the same core that was supposed to give us always listening Google Now when the phone launched but Google gimped us because of patent bs.
Uh, maybe. I don't know. Maybe because we have pedometer sensor built in so its not draining battery..

Samsung S7 Edge battery drain issue (Oreo 8.0)

Hello guys, I have an annoying battery drain issue on my Galaxy S7 Edge. I searched the forum, installed many custom roms, the battery life improved so much but then I realized the issue with degarded camera quality on custom roms (Floyd Q Rom). I flashed back the official stock rom to my device.
I also use Sony Xperia XZ2, which has the greatest battery life I have ever experienced on any android device.
Is there anyway I can solve this issue, I am on flight mode all the time just to preserve the battery level and connect to internet for a few minutes to check emails only. Kindly refer to the attached image (screenshot) and help me out. Thanks in advance.

Use an app like Wakelock Detector to know which apps are sucking the battery since boot.

IMO worthwile to read:

Should you still use apps that hibernate background processes on Android? Let's look at how this has changed over time.
