Ahh well at least we've got it... Incubus and the other devs can probably fix anything wrong with it faster than they will

Not experiencing anything wrong with it

It figures something like this would happen....oh well cuz I'm ready downloading my 2nd Rom from incubus lol

you all realize the best part, right?
it was this time last year that froyo reached a few people. then, it was reportedly "delayed" because it needed bugs to be worked out...and then the rest of us didn't get froyo until the first and second weeks of september lol...was a very frustrating few months back then!
then again, froyo ruined my inc anyway, and there was awful typing lag after my update, so i'd never trust an OTA again lol; gotta love rooting!

hahaha oh man and to think I was going to unroot my phone to wait for the OTA this week.
I have to say, this forum is awesome! I was pretty scared to flash the leaked 2.3.4 posted by Joel earlier this morning but with a few helpful posts I banged it out in no time. Thanks XDA!

Should I root my phone again or wait for the OTA?

If I root my phone and install the leaked version do I need to do a full wipe or just dalvik cache.

Yes!
(Sorry.... just couldn't resist...)
Really, I would re-root and regain some control over the phone.
As far as the full wipe vs. clear dalvik cache, some have had acceptable results just clearing the cache. Others have had to go the full wipe route.
If you are so inclined, you could try just clearing the dalvik cache. If you encounter issues, take the full wipe approach.

will i be able to install this manually like i did the leaked .3 version or will it mess up my phone
Engadget
I just read this on Engadget, I have to say I give HTC and Sprint a lot of credit for under promising and over delivering in my opinion. I absolutely love this phone and to know that both the carrier and the manufacturer are fully behind supporting the phone after launch is a great relief! I never hear of companies doing anything early or at least on time when it comes to software updates...I'm pleasantly surprised!

nand backup and give it a shot, you will most likely lose root
yea good question, I don't mind losing root to install this...but do I just wipe and flash this file as is...because I have fresh's ROM installed now...

Gingerbread here

Just got notification that I can upgrade android, presumably to gingerbread. Holding off, as I'm rooted.
Nexus one, in the uk.
Cool!

It's probably the FRG83D update. Unfortunately
What build are you running? If you are running FRG83D then this could be exciting news.
PS. Am on 2.2.1 now, so presume the update is... gingerbread. But I'm off to bed as its 1:30am.

Have you updated to .340 I don't think you can downgrade in version numbers so I don't think you can go back to 2.1

Power down then power back on holding the home button. Once in stock recovery press the search button. Wipe and reboot. Hope that helps.

Also, if the only reason you don't like gummyjar is the camera you can flash the stock blur one, easily found by searching around.

FYI, I decided to experiment a little bit. Did a clockwork backup before just in case. I didn't wipe at all, just flashed and everything is working fine.
So I repeat, full wipe isn't necessary as long as you are coming from a previous stock ROM. Although I would recommend a dalvik cache wipe since it wont erase anything, just basically refreshes the temp cache.

Best wiping before flashing

I was wondering what is the best wiping utility before flashing over a new rom? I always use to use OSHAKA Super Wipe for my other phone, I tried it on this and it didn't work, don't know why. Maybe its meant for just that phone?
I was going to go from synergy, to CM7 2.3 because I am sick of not having memory.
VR Superwipe, look in threads created by virus, you'll find it... By the way, wrong section for a question, prepare for some thunder and lightning.... Lol

Guess I needed that laugh, I just sat and watched the whole video!
You have been THANKED!
The best wiping Utility is in your recovery, if you use Amon Ra. You don't NEED Super Wipe scripts.
Honestly in the hundreds of flashes that I have done, I have never used a wipe zip.
I prefer to do it by hand each item 2 to 3 times to ensure a good and through wipe.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
I used to do it manually but now I just run a vr superwipe and then I just wipe the caches
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I have used a few (Calkulin's and Viper's) but I prefer to manually wipe each partition in recovery as well. I used Amon Ra and never had any problems, now I use the updated one that drellisd (I think that's his name) wrote and I just manually wipe each partition once and never have any problems. I always wipe everything but recovery, wimax, and android.secure.
