Expansys has a 30 pin to sd card adaptor - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I haven't seen this any place else. Hope it helps someone....
EDIT- probably the wrong section-- sorry.

That looks great, thanks for the heads up.

Sure. I haven't seen them anyplace else.... just got email confirmation its Samsung oem

does anyone know where I can find only the SD adapter, I already have the usb adapter, look like the link above only sells a combo pack. I know I can probably buy a normal USB SD adapter, and connect that using the USB adapter, but i would rahter have a seprate USB SD adapter, not some really long thing sticking out of the tab

The SD and USB adapters are the same size. It's two separate units that use the same cap to protect their 30 pin plugs for storage.

Actually, they aren't both the same size. They both stick out from the tablet the same distance (length) but the SD card reader is wider than the USB reader.
The SD card reader is for a full size SD card.....

@pdxrealtor:
Excellent find, just ordered one for myself, though I think that the 10.1 will soon be replaced with the Transformer, dunno why is the Transformer is selling like hot cakes when compared to the 10.1, there must be a REASON!

Glad it helped.
I'm frustrated not with the 10.1 specifically but the tabs in general.
I tried to take an excel spread sheet in the field today- none of the office programs support check boxes.
Tried to take some pictures and then insert them into a pre formatted word document- no dice--
Think I might need a net book

Duh price, people dont care about anything but how much sonething costs

For what it's worth. I was at best buy on sunday and they had at least 6 of the USB adapters..

can the tab benefit from a class 10 SD card or is that overkill?

Smallest MicroSD card reader

Hi,
I found this thing :

Anyone has that?
Does it work with MicroSDHC card (6 GB or 8 GB) ?
Thanks.

This is ridiculously small. It's fantastic, I'm sold on getting one.
Your question was answered on the website at the bottom.

The factory says yes but we don't have such card here to test for it. If you're intending to use it for 4GB tf only, then I suggest you to wait for our in-house test confirmation first.

Just curious, does it matter at all that it doesn't say SDHC compatible? Will it slow down data transfers? I saw one similiar on mobileplanet, but didn't order because of that.
I got this one instead: http://sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1385)-SanDisk_MobileMate_Micro_Readers.aspx
It has the same type of keychain, and is very small as well. But, it says microSD, microSDHC, and M2 compatible.
I've got a smaller one, £5 off ebay. Be careful though, they can bend and could cause damage to your MicroSD.

Yeah, I think it's the same hardware. It's extremely useful for sucking off data from pcs that you shouldn't be touching, as the device can be barely seen protruding from a USB port.

Max Capacity and Performance Class for MicroSD card on TP

Ok, since i tell that money is not a problem.
I want to know what is the biggest and fastest Micro SD card available for the HTC Touch Pro.
Anyone can tell if have tried the 32 Gb SDHC Class 10??? or higher (if exists 64gb)...
Thanks in advance...
class 6 16GB is the fastest/biggest you can get.
Kingston has a 16GB, class 10 micro sd card. Is there any limit in class that the phone can handle?

LMAO i couldnt stop laughing when i read this.
SD CARD LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!
rofl i lol'd too. im sure it was an oversight or something. anyway im still curious if the device can even use the whole transfer rate offered by a class six. Can anyone confirm that this phone can utilize a class 6 to its full potential?
*so i read up that wiki. according to that then there is no point in getting anything over a class two since the top speed it hits with a class 6 is .5 MB/s and the class 2 bandwidth limit is 2Mb/s*
sooooo any thoughts on this?
sandisk does have a 32gb microsd.... but it's class 2 and $200
http://sandisk.com/products/mobile-memory-products/sandisk-microsdhc
not in stock now though.... it was a bit back....
neato, but if it was in stock wouldn't it have the same performance on our phone as a class 6? From what i wrote earlier, i believe our speed is capped by a hardware limitation so 4+ class speeds wont help?.
id really like an expert to confirm this.
I would also like an experts advice on this matter... I am stuck with a 2g micro card and am looking to buy the biggest one I can stick in my phone.
Thanks for any input.

Depends on how soon you want it. Also, I presume you are using a similar device to the TP... I was in a BestBuy recently and they had an 8gb microsd in-stock! The only place I was able to get a 16gb microsd(class 2), was online unfortunately. Of course, I did see a few 32GB usb sticks for under $100 and grabbed one up, several months ago...
Also, as physical proof that a 16gb card will work/be recognized:

Does the class count?! This week i would like to buy a 16GB class 10 card?! will it work? i'm not interested in the speed. im just interested in it to work in the phone 4 downloading movies over the internet & such...
save money, get a slower class. 16 gb works.
Let's bring this thread up to date now in 2016 I can confirm 128gb and 200gb micro sd cards work in my T7272.

Slow USB Transfer speeds

What speeds are you guys getting when transferring files via USB
It seems that my evo and my PC transfer files at 3-4mb/sec max.
I've the the stock 8gb SD card, stock HTC microUSB cable.
The same USB port transfers to my external and my htc diamond at 20-30mb/sec.
Any suggestions/advice/solutions are appreciated.
Some people were telling me its because the microsd is a class 2, but I find that hard to believe.

I would blame the SD card. HTC probably threw the cheapest cards in there that they could and those are probably class 2 cards. That being said, I don't mind the slow speed, don't move files around on there to often.

Seriously? I think you may want to try a different computer or SD card...my evo is screaming fast on USB transfers, I'd say faster than any other USB device I have. Hopefully HTC didn't buy their SD cards from shady suppliers...i'd hate to think that anyone got fake cards with their EVO.
The stock Micro SDHC card is in fact a Samsung Class 2 8GB Micro SDHC card. Class 2 defines a minimal write-speed of 2Megabytes/second.
What the hell kind of card/hard drive does your other phone have?
Doubt they are fake, just cheap cards. Welcome to the world of consumer electronics. An 8GB card is a selling point, but not necessarily a good cost opportunity.

The CDMA Diamond has a 4gb internal, so who knows. That thing was pretty quick so I was expecting the same for the evo.
So even with a great quality microsd, the fastest it can transfer is 8-12mb/sec?

USB port adapter only for 8.9"?

What is the meaning behind this? It sounds like the larger 10.1 tablet is going to miss out on a full size USB port. Maybe the 10.1 has a full size on the tablet itself, and not as an attachment? Can anyone confirm the reasoning for leaving the attachment off the larger version?
This puzzled me too. The USB/SD kit says it's only for the 8.9. But what is the point of even having the SD adapter if the tablet has a micro SD slot?
Only thing that comes to mind so far is that was an old slide and the kit was not compatible with the old Galaxy 10.1? *shrug*
I was thinking this kit provides "USB Host" functionality.
Looking into the presentation below, I could imagine user can attach SD card ... and the tab will be able to read it (USB Host functionality)

That's what I think too. It would be a pretty stupid move to allow it only on the 8.9".
Anyways, Samsung has been pretty horrible with releasing accessories at a reasonable time frame. So yeah....
PC World has a article on the new Tabs and on slide 4 they claim both models have a microSD slot. The pictures shows a microSD slot on top.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/222837/article.html
just curious , anyone have any idea that this adaptor will be coming to the 10.1v (old fat one) ... this problem and the dual antenna , are the only barrier for me to decide buying 10.1v or not , personally i think if the bottom socket is the same (i think u call it 30 pin) , then it would properly fit on the old one , but will the software support it ??
Can the new 8.9 Tab charge by way of micro usb? Thanks

If you listen he says "the Galaxy Tab will INCLUDE a USB kit for connection to cameras, SD cards..." I take that as meaning that it will only be included with the 8.9" not that it will only work with the 8.9".

Tablets and USB OTG - Flash drives with micro USB?

With the rise in popularity of tablets and smartphones, and the microUSB port as the standard for these devices, could we see some flash drives designed for tablets that make use of the microUSB connector?
I'd love to buy a 64GB flash drive that can plug straight into my Nexus 7 and my smartphone and my friends' devices too.
It'll probably be charged at a premium due to the relatively niche usage, but regular 64GB drives are pretty cheap these days, and they're only going to get cheaper.
Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this? A USB OTG adapter isn't so big or expensive but it'd be great to have a storage device that works natively.
Um....a lot of us do this already. Hell, I watched a movie off of a flash drive today. Hyst get stickmount on a rooted N7. I got the micro usb to female usb on ebay for 99 cents shipped.

Not exactly convenient the way it is. They would've been smarter putting the micro USB port on the side, but even then, very pricey.

Definitely a better price, but still inconvenient to have the connector on the end like that. I think that at least for now, it's more convenient to just have a separate cable, not to mention that I don't think I'd trust the reliability of these no-name flash drives in the long run.
