Should I check "Boot Change" in MultiLoader? - Bada Software Development

Flashing full firmware S8500XXJID, should i change "Boot Change" (and "Full Download")?
I've read many people saying yes, i have to check also boot change, while some other people says it's unsafe.

It is the Same thing
if you tick full download and put boot files then for sure you made a boot change
So you are free to tick boot change or not

i agree with mylove90, no need to tick boot change when you ticked the full download because once you ticked the full download option, boot change is dis abled.

However when you tick full download then boot change is disabled but not ticked, using multi upload version 5.64

Is my Spica bricked ??? pls help me out :(

Hi community, this is the first time i start a thread here over XDA Dev coz i'm really in trouble, i tried to change bootlogo for my spica through recovery (rooted and using spicagendmod beta 2) but the phone turned off, since then, never turn on, if i plug the usb charger in, it will charge till 100% but nothing more! lost even recovery/download modes. when i try to turn it normally it's just like "dead". i think i bricked it right ???? here in algeria where i live, there's no samsung representation.... i'm lost.. dunno what to do..... i fuc*ked up things this time i guess ...!!!
try to re-flash ure baseband ... that's work !
Follow this tutorial :
Keep spica_jc3.ops in Select OPS field.
Click Reset Files to clear the fields.
In Select Images to download panel, Select I570EXXJA1_CLI32638_Bootloader.tar into BOOT field,I570XXJB4_Phone.tar into PHONE field, I570EOLBJB3-CSC-CL167487-OLB.tar into CSA field, and let the PDAfield empty.
In Debug Option panel, tick Debug Only and PDA Format option. Don’t tick One Package option in Option Panel.
Click Start and watch the progress bar and timer, wait untill PASS message appear on Message box.
Disconect the phone from PC, remove and insert the battery, start the phone in download mode again then continue to Flash III.
then:
Keep spica_jc3.ops in Select OPS field.
Click Reset Files to clean the fields.
In Select Images to download panel, Select I570EXXJCE.tar into PDA field.
If you get an error dialog, rename the I570EXXJCE.tar into I570EXXJCE_PDA.tar and insert into PDA field again.
Don’t select One Package option and Debug Option.
Click Start and watch the progress bar and timer, wait untill PASS message appear on Message box.
The phone will restart and you will get the Eclair screen .
You can DL that files from samfirmware.com
thank's dude for your reply but... i can't even go on download mode.... the phone is just chargin while off or "dead" when i try to turn it on, whatever is on recovery, download or just a normal boot, everything remains off and the screen black, the phone is nolonger detectable by my laptop, tried in XP, vista and Win7! ithink this time... it's GAME OVER!
I seem to remember the bootlogo being the only way of bricking the Spica ... :-(
Maybe try over at samdroid.net? That's where the Spica community hangs out, mostly.
If you flashed too big bootlogo (biggest tested was 182 kB) there is no way to recover the phone by yourself yet- we are waiting to test a possible solution but samdroid member with the same problem is offline for some time (work related)
thank's mate, YES i flashed a big bootlogo(192ko) and what you said is the same as what i read on a forum, i forget where exactly. hope this member will be online soon cheers
One way. In the service center.

My Gio has the same problem now.
It can only go into download/dload/ramdump mode and can't startup normally nor recovery.
I tried to use odin with "pda format" checked but the odin always crash.
I tried many versions of odin4.xx, all crashed.
Could anyone tell me which version will run without crash?
Thanks,

[How to][guide] UPDATE TO 4.4.2 BOOTLOADER AND ROOT TMO/CANADIAN VARIANTS

The point of this thread is to help people safely update their bootloader so that they may flash a touchwiz kitkat rom.
I have seen several threads where people are running into issues and even development threads get cluttered with questions. So I will give you the steps needed using my method.
Please note this is for windows 7. However it should work on other versions of windows too.
This method may wipe your internal storage completely so transfer anything you do not wish to lose to you pc.
This method will also trip yout knox counter which may void your warranty.
You also may not be able to downgrade to 4.3 so make sure this is what you want to do
I am not responsible for bricked devices. Proceed at own risk
You have been warned!!!
So what you need to do is download a few files.
I have created a zip file and uploaded it for easy access and simplicity reasons. If it becomes out dated I will update accordingly.
What is needed is your variants stock firmware. You need to get the one for your device off sammobile.com
On sammobile you must create an account in order to download (if you don't have an account already).
Once you are logged in click on the firmware tab. Then enter your device name.
Canadian variants enter: SM-N900W8
TMO variants enter: SM-N900T
You will then be able to pick the most recent firmware for your device and download it. So now that you have the correct firmware (please double check, and if unsure google it)!!!
So lets begin
You also need to download the zip file I have made and extract it. Inside it you will find the samsung drivers, 3 recovery options to pick from, the supersu.zip and also odin.zip. once you've extracted the file you've just downloaded you need to extract the odin.zip inside it as well.
So if you have not previously installed the samsung drivers you will need to do so. Simply run the samsung mobile driver.exe file and install it. Once successful in installing, reboot your pc.
when it boots up, connect yout device to you pc and transfer over the supersu.zip over to your phone. The root of your sd card is recommended for easy access.
Now what you need to do is ensure usb debugging is enabled. Do so by going to settings, general, developer options and ensure its checked. If you do not have developer options simply go to about phone, and tap om build number 7 times to enable developer options.
Once this is done you need to power off your device with it unplugged. Now we need to enter download mode. You can do this by holding the home button, volume down and pushing and hokding the power button. You will be presented with a warning screen. You push volume up to proceed or vokume down to cancel and restart device.
We want to push volume up. It will then show a big android saying warning do not turn off target.
Now connect your device to your pc and run odin as administrator.
In odin near the top left you shoukd see a box colored in saying:
Com and have a number. If you see this that means odin recognizes your device. If you do not that means eiter you dont have the drivers installed properly or perhaps you need to try a different usb port or cord.
You then will see a few check boxes checked off. Auto reboot and f.reset time. leave these checked only.
Theres an AP BUTTON. Click this button and then navigate to your stock firmware file you've downloaded and select it. It may take a few minutes to load it. Once it does load all you need to do is click the start button and let odin do the rest. Do not touch anything.
This will take a few minutes. You should see a green "pass" in the box at the top left. Your device will eventually reboot and you will now be stock, unrooted on the latest firmware.
*please note that if at this point your device hangs on the Samsung logo sayong "recovery booting" you need to pull the battery and reflash the firmware. This time also check the repartition box.
Now we need to root and flash a custom recovery.
Again you'll need to enable usb debugging on your phone so I recommend skipping the google setup stuff on your phone.
Once you have enabled it, power off your phone with it unplugged and again enter download mode the same way you did before.
Plug in your device and in odin press the reset button to clear the stock firmware file.
Now connect your device to your pc and again ensure that odin recognizes it.
Click the AP BUTTON again and this time navigate to the custom recovery of choice ( I reccomend twrp. I am also using the tmo version as I could not get the canadian version to boot)
Once selected again hit the start button. In a few seconds you should again receive a "PASS" message. That mrans you have successfully flashed a custom recovery.
Now power off your device and unplug it. Now we need to enter recovery.
Do so by pressing the home button, volume up, and push and hold the power button. Once you see recovery booting you can let go. You will also see in red font: recovery is not seandroid enforcing. That just means you have a custom recovery.
If your device hangs at this screen you will need to oower it off and try a different recovery.
Once in recovery I reccomend making a nandroid backup. (Optional)
Next we are going to root. All that you need to do is press install or install zip from sd card depending on which recovery you chose and navigate to the supersu.zip
Now install the zip by following the instructions of the recovery and then reboot.
Congratulations you are now rooted (you can confirm if you like by downloading the root checker app if you wish) and on the latest firmware and can flash custom 4.4.2 roms for your device. Please read and follow the directions of the op in the thread of the rom you wish to flash.

I replied to your pm you sent me. Anyway just flash a different recovery if it's hanging after flashing recovery. If its hanging after flashing stock 4.4.2 firmware try it again by oulling battery and going back into dl lodem this time also check the repartition box

SM-g550t2 unlock

Any method to unlock this phone without paying for it or having to wait 90 days yet?
This is what I tried with CG Pro Key
I read online that it is done with the same method as the SM-G550T1, so I am trying it on a SM-G550T2 this precise moment. I am not responsible for any problems that may arise with your phone if this does not work for you, I have tried it on several SM-G550T1 from Metro PCS and it has worked well.
1. Power on phone, go to apps>settings>about phone, then tap on Build number seven times to enable developer options, once message prompts about being a developer.
2. Go back to settings and look for the "developer options", go there and make sure "OEM Unlock" is selected, as well as "USB debugging".
3. Download the following three files, I tried posting the download links but since I hardly ever post upon forum policy I am not able to, if you need the files PM me.
3a. Odin 3.10.7 is the version I have used and has worked for me
3b. TWRP custom recovery, should be installed Using Odin. Put phone in Download Mode (Home+Power+Vol-) and connect to computer then open Odin.exe using right click and running as administrator. Once opened select the "AP" box and select the TWRP file, then click on start, once Odin finishes it will restart phone. Once this happens remove the battery, because I let it fully restart once even after Odin showed the PASS, and when I tried entering Recovery Mode it went into OEM Android recovery.
3c. SuperUser Root. Once the TWRP custom recovery has been installed save the SuperUser file in an SD card and insert it on the phone OR save it directly to your phone's internal storage, then put phone in Recovery Mode (Home+Power+Vol+). Once in recovery mode you will get a screen with a disclaimer, just "Swipe to Allow Modifications", then select "Install", then on the bottom "Select Storage" and go to wherever you saved your file and select it, then "Swipe to confirm Flash" and wait for phone to finish, then select Reboot option.
UP TO THIS POINT your phone has a custom recovery and SuperUser access, I have only unlocked these phones using GC Pro since its the method that has worked for me, but theoretically you could be able to test with z3x o octoplus, Processor is Exynos from what I have read on other forums it should work using models g920t o g925t, but I haven't tried that so I can't vouch for these to work. IF YOU PLAN TO DO SO, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
4. Connect your GC pro Key or Box as well as your phone, and open GCPROGSMTOOLKIT. Once program starts go to Samsung tab, select any of the models, it does not make any difference, then under "Service" select "TMOBILE Unlock" and click on "Start", the phone will prompt for computer connection, then will ask for permission fomr SuperUser, Grant it then sit back and wait, the box will finish and restart phone:

Falsh stock via qfill application ...with pc..
The best option to fix this is to
1. Download SP Flash - spflashtool.com
Install USB VCOM Drivers:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4AxISENE1O_M2tfNkV5Q0tkRXM/view
Grab the stock ROM from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/how-to/firmware-lenovo-a6000-se-stock-rom-t3406693
Put this on your desktop somewhere easily accessible and make sure its unzipped.
Turn OFF your phone and pull the battery. Open SP Flash and go to options -> Download -> Make sure both those options have a checkmark in the boxes.
In the DROPDOWN box of SP Flash where you see Download change to 'Firmware Upgrade'.
Where you see the button that says Scatter Loading, press it and navigate to the scatter file in your Lenovo Stock ROM download. It will be the only file you see (text file) select it.
Now in SP Flash on the TOP where you see the GREEN Download Arrow, Click Download.
Now, with phone off and battery OUT, put battery back in phone...DO NOT turn it on, simply plug into your USB cable attached to your A536.
You will see SP Flash pop up a red bar on the bottom. Relax. You will then see a yellow bar showing its installing the firmware. When it is done you will see a box popup with a big green checkmark saying its done.
Unplug your phone and hit the power button.
Please let me know if you run into trouble. Follow my instructions and you will unbrick your device.

You must flash oreo stock again
OMG! It works!! Tested on J701F
I had to OEM unlocked because the touch screen stopped working after the phone automatically updated to OREO 8.1 (because the touch screen was replaced and obviously Samsung dropped support for non-oem touch panels in this update) so I have looked everywhere for solution until I found it here http://www.technocaretricks.com/samsung-j701f-touch-not-working-after-update-to-8-1-oreo/
But flashing that TAR file wasn't possible without changing the RMM state.
Thanks a lot, you are a lifesaver

First. Do the process and flash oreo stock again and then you can see the oem unlock option.. After that you can flash twrp and the rom that you want

Thanks. I follow instructions and I can manage to flash twrp
And helios kernel.the only thing I notice after all those flashing is when I check dev option is OEM unlock is gone again. But don't care this moment because I manage to root my phone and that is ok. thanks again
