As I promise before, here coderom.v2x.
How to use this?
Flash with Odin as one package (use cooper.ops)
Enter recovery (with power menu or via terminal "reboot recovery") and then wipe data, cache and dalvik-cache better experience
You could format your system to ext4 from ext4 manager, otherwise you coould skip this step if you not need it
Run DT-A2SD script for the first time by tick DT Auto start option from tweak manager if you want to use DarkTremor A2SD
If you want to move your dalvik-cache to your eksternal (if you using dt-a2sd), run a2sdgui and you know the rest how to do that (or by terminal "a2sd cachesdreset)
I have told you a description about coderom.v2x (it has been delayed for more than one week due internet connection problem and my nice vacation on last weekend)
Thanks for your support, hope we could make better compilation on next buiold (something like a2sd run from recovery).
Best Regards,
CodeROM team (INDONESIAN KASKUS GALAXY ACE TEAM)

Problem with CSC flashing
Hi,
I use codereom NexusAce ROM in my ACE. So far so good but trying to upgrade to v2 I face a problem.
After each ROM upgrade I flash in my phone a single Multi-CSC which has the settings for my provider (VF-Greece). I did the same now after rebooting my phone with coderome V2. But after the CSC flashing, the phone didn't boot again with a strange screen indicating that there is some problem during boot. The only way to boot it again is to reboot in recovery mode and clear the cache. But after clearing the cache the CSC is wiped and I lose my provider settings.
I never had this problem before but only with this latest coderome version.
I attach the CSC file I use for further testing by the ROM developer.
Though I have a problem with V2, I ought to say that NexusAce is a spectacular ROM by all means !!!
Kind Regards

i dunno if its just me but my 3g wont turn on

I can install it but now i have a one problem.
after install any app from market (more than 8mb) i can't install more, only if i restart the phone. ¿someone know what is?

you can unplug the cable/stop the process without any worries.
I didnt download JPM but where did you download JPM from? What files do you get when you unzip the zip file? Are you using one package or multiple packages?
one package
3 files zimage,modem and factoryrfs
i dnloaded in some thread in d forum..i thnik the i5800 (gps fix) one
can i restart nd still hav eclaitr?
It is possible, not sure you will though. Have you downloaded a firmware before?
You could try making 2 tars and flash multipackage, factroyrfs and zimage in one tar (PDA) and in the other modem (Phone).
Did you do a factory reset before flashing?
ya..i resetted
did you turn off then on both odin adn your phone between attempts?
Dunno, if the two tar method doesnt work id suggest trying to download from an alternative link (already posted in this thread)
ya,i switchd off nd on
now it gets stuck at GT i5801

Hi I have been hunting for a tool to do a "complete" backup of my S3 so I can restore it in one go after playing with other ROMS and get back to Stock easily. So seeing this looked fantastic. I have run steps 1 , 4 and 10 .
The ROM i get is only 27,161 KB , and as the stock rom I flashed was over 1 gb I wonder if I have done something wrong and I am afraid to try flashing this with Odin . Especially when I did a NANDROID Backup from S3 Toolkit and this is 1.6gb .
Any advice would be well received .

[Q] Samsung s5360 - Customizing Odin Ready PDA.tar.md5 file

So I have the odin pda tar file - PDA_S5360_DDLF2.tar.md5
I unzipped it and extracted the following files:
Code:
1) boot.img
2) param.lfs
3) sbl.bin
4) system.img
5) userdata.img
I opened system.img and added/removed some apps inside the app folder. Saved system.img and exited. Look below:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
These are the five files again from pda.tar which I'm putting in the tar archive
Code:
1) boot.img
2) param.lfs
3) sbl.bin
4) system.img (edited using ultraiso: see above)
5) userdata.img
I used the following code in terminal to make the tar ball:
Code:
tar -H ustar -c boot.img param.lfs sbl.bin system.img serdata.img > Custom_PDA_S5360.tar
The I used the following commands to md5 it:
Code:
md5sum Custom_PDA_S5360.tar
md5sum –t Custom_PDA_S5360.tar >> Custom_PDA_S5360.tar
mv Custom_PDA_S5360.tar Custom_PDA_S5360.tar.md5
Now i have the custom pda.tar.md5 with me. I'm a little scared to flash it without knowing whether it could brick my phone or not.
I need some guidance and advise from the senior xda gurus.
Will it work? Or not?
Or will I end up with a bricked phone?
Am I wasting my time?
Connect your phone to odin and flash it...
If it doesn't work flash stock...
And if flashing stock fails goto service center and sae " I swear i am never going to use that online update again!!!"
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
alkesh saar ji,
thank you for the wise crack answer. but i don't have the time to run around the service centre to fix my phone.
im not sure what the actual reasons are for hard bricking a phone
A phone that gets stuck in bootloop but can still switch into odin download mode is not actual brick IMO
in the past, i have successful placed several windows and linux OS's on one bootable dvd. I guess what im trying to say is that im not familiar with the mechanisms of an android OS.

If you want to try then do as I said....
Wait why you are using odin method you can simply push apk via rootex or adb
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
Do you mean adb install method?
After each time i flash stock, i root and remove things i don't need from system(youtube, maps etc)
Then i install my imp apps on system(by removing sd) using adb install
Then i shift dalvik to system
I'm trying to automate my work. I don't think i can do dalvik shift in an odin package but I think I can do the apps add/remove thing.
What do you think?

Do simplest method use root explorer to push apps to system and set their permission rw-r--r--
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
I prefer automation.
I use batch "rm" commands in adb shell to remove apps from "system/app"
And I use adb install batch command file to install all apps in android.
The order of automation:
1) Flashing rom
2) Rooting
3) Removing unwanted app from system
4) Installing apps on system
5) Unrooting
Whole process takes around 15-20 minutes and much of it is done through batch files.
What I want now is to add/remove the apps in the pda.tar flashable file itself.
If I can achieve this, my time will be reduced from 15-20 minutes to 3-5 minutes.
What is the result? Have u flashed it?

Welcome post!
Hi,
First of all welcome to this thread. I wanted to be the first poster in this Q&T thread, especially created and dedicated to my ROM thread, to show my appreciation to be able being a part of this.. I want to thank @Robbie P, and of course the entire Q&T Team (all of them are RC's), to make this possible.
Now a little word about the goal of this specific Q&T thread:
"goal of this specific thread is to clean up my development ROM thread with Off Topic posts. These kind of posts will ,with this especially created Q&T thread , redirected to this new Q&A/T thread. With Off Topic post we, @Robbie P and I, mean posts that are not directly ROM development related, e.g. I want to use ths ROM, how to install it or can I use this app with this ROM,etc. @Robbie P and I will be monitoring my ROM thread for these kind of posts and ask the poster kindly to move his post to this thread. We hope that after a certain amount of time this will be self-sustaining and becoming a normal thing to do.
Many thanks to @Robbie P and the entire Q&T team,

What's DirectSD??
DirectSD: work same NativeSD, but it must use 2 EXT4 partitions. 1st EXT4 Partition will creat new a folder with name to be DirectSystem and it's "System". 2nd EXT4 Partition will creat new a folder with name to be DirectData and it's "Data". You should use 4EXT4 Recovery to repartition that will help you to create 2 EXT4 Partitions.
Partitioning SD card with ext4
5. Boot into 4ext recovery from MAGLDR (by choosing ADrecovery) you will see menu from 4ext which is quite similar to CWM recovery.
6. Go to "advance" > "partition SD card" > "Remove all partition and start from scratch"
Select the size of for 1st partition (Choose greater than 1024MB) (This will be the size of system partition)
Select the size of for 2nd partition (Choose greater than 1024MB) (This will be the size of data partition)
Select the size of for swap partition (if you don't want use SWAP partitions, Choose "Skip") then it will start formating and ask you what format do you want to format sdext.
Choose for format "EXT4" and Let it complete formating

How to manage DirectSD ROM??
- You can use Manager DirectROM app to manage DirectSD ROM. It will include in ROM, you can "change ROM", "Delete ROM" and "Reboot" in Manager DirectROM app
Note: change rom only work with Magldr
- You can manager DirectSD & NativeSD by Recovery with ManagerSDROM_v1.0.zip. You can Delete, Backup, Restore, ...

thanks @mickael.webmaster
this is the best ROM available for Samsung Ace s5830 cheers for that :highfive: :victory:
but one thing, i have made partition on my 16gb Class 10 card of 512mb via Recovery Menu. How can i make that partition Main Application memory for my phone? 168mb is way too less 512mb will be enough.
I know previously i had this SD Card as App memory how to re-enable that with your ROM?
CyanogenMod has a displacement of applications on sd memory from the menu, nevertheless, it seems sufficient.
Otherwise [Warning] : save SD on your computer.
*[Before install only flash D2ext_XFusion] partition use a script modded of CronMod Team
Restart CWM Recovery..
- Advanced
- Partition SD Card
- 512M ( recommanded )
- Swap 0M
[Dalvik-Cache Wipe Tool ? This is for wiping /dalvik-cache]
I post a cronmod script in the file, not the position because unnecessarily. On hold.
*[Before install only D2ext_XFusion]
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
i don't understand this.

ok thanks now i'm on int2ext+
tomorrow I'll try CM setting and remove int2ext+.
can this be done without factory reset?
currently when install Opera Mini, FB Messenger, Facebook App, WhatsApp.
the Facebook App is biggest with 140MB file size i get memory full on int2ext+ too because Data is still in INTERNAL Memory
will that CM setting help in this issue?
