[Q] Huawie S& Slim - Ideos S7 General

I had an S& briefly (dropped it) bought a slim.. It's pretty fast and colors are good.
I have a couple of problems,
1Does anyone know how to move items from internal sd to external se card. I found a path which uses an underscore, when I use underscore in the number, alt mode, it's an underline.
2. Can you download directly to external card. I'm doing gps maps which are huge memory hogs.
Everything else I've used it for is great, an improvement over the S7

camera cannot see miniSD card??

I've just noticed that the camera (software) on my O2 XDA mini s cannot see the Sandisk 512mb miniSD card.
It used to see it no problem, the my documents/my pictures folder was created fine, and about 20 pictures have been saved in there.
All of a sudden today, the camera wouldn't save a picture, checked the settings, and the storage location had change to the extended rom (and filled the remainder of the extended rom with pictures!)
I dropped the location box down, and all that is in there is main memory, and extended rom. It wont let me select the storage card!! File explorer, and resco explorer see the storage card fine, even when the card is removed and inserted again, the link within explorer disappears, and the reappears. Yet the camera software will still not see it.
Anybody else experienced this?
Cheers
Paul
This happens when you Unlock the Extended ROM. In my case, my SD card was re-labeled to Storage card 2, and the camera app does not recognize that. As far as I know a solution was never found, so I locked my EXT ROM again, since I never did anything with it anyway. In the EXT ROM unlock thread this problem was repeatedly posted, but no solution came up.

Overheating causing my data corruption?

I have been having big problems with data being majorly corrupted on my SD card. All the files and folders are either dissapearing or having their contents scrambled. Folder names are also having the names changed to random nonsence.
Now I am starting to think that it could be a heat issue.
After taking the memory card out, it felt very hot and the back of the MDA was very warm too.
Does anyone know of any overheating issues, especially after using wifi for a while?
If you use any high battery consuming application like wifi, the battery will get warm. You can use batti to check battery temp if you want. Sounds like your storage card may be faulty - try reformatting with storage tools - google for it - the demo will format for you.
My Vario gets quite warm when I have Wifi on and I'm charging it simultaneously.
Do you regularly swap your memory card between your Wizard and a desktop/notebook card reader? Some card readers have 'issues' which can corrupt the data on memory cards, especially high-capacity ones.
Well the more i thought about it, the more and more i started to think that i had fallen for the eBay fake memory card scam. Especially as the seller has now un-registered himself.
So i picked up a new 1 gig card on the way home from work. It seems to work just fine and the tranfer speeds have increased massively.
I am a happy bunny now (although i wasted my cash on a duff card). But i will let you know if the same problems happen again.

T-mobile galaxy s5 problem saving photos on Micro SD

Hello everybody, as title says, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 from T-mobile and has been having a problem since i got a micro SD, when I take photos or video (doesn't matter quality) and save them directly on internal memory all content is OK, but when I save it directly on Micro SD 95% of the photos/video got damaged, they can't even be open or two or more picts get mixed in one, the problem also happens when I move photos from device to SD card, I have tried different cards 8-64 GB from many different brands and the problem persist, also restarted my cellphone to factory settings and nothing, also tried my memory card on friend cellphone and it worked perfectly, does anybody know what could be happening?
Hope you can help me, since now thx!
Looks like hardware issue...

Nokia 5 SD problem

Hi all,
My partner's phone - Got an interesting problem with the SD card. I bought an SD card, 64GB and put it in. It formatted fine and even offered to move the stuff off the phone and onto the card. Happy days. The problem now is, when I delete a file from the phone, it doesn't delete just from the phone, but both phone and SD card... lol. O...k. lol.
So I then sent a test file, a random video to myself from my partner's phone to my phone over WhatsApp then took the SD card out of my partner's phone and tried to delete it from her internal storage. It said the file couldn't be deleted because it was stored on the SD card.... yet, taking up space on the phone. So it was like having a dead body, no life, but taking up the room, on the internal storage, but when the SD card was put back, all "bodies" danced back to life again, making the video work as it once did. So it thinks they're saved on the SD card, and are, yet can't be removed from the phone and still taking space. In effect, it copied them but won't let the files leave the phone. So it was a weird mutation copy merge from internal to external storage. Sigh
So, I think I have to buy a new charger (current one charges but doesn't connect the phone to the pc) and manually cut from phone files and paste into sd card files, unless anyone has a better plan or actual way to fix this?
Thanks for your time,
Cormac
update
Well this is most interesting............................
I went to the shop and bought a cable that worked. When I connected it to the computer, I was able to see ONLY SD card, no internal memory..... so now it looks like it has dissapeared.. and merged with the internal memory.... which means that it now doesn't allow us to put stuff into the SD card. However, It seems to think it has more space.. I am hopeful it can allow this. I had to delete an app to make room for Facebook messenger update. Despite having the SD card in the phone... I don't like this... I dunno what to do. Any help welcomed.
Thanks,
Cormac
If you want seperate storage you have to use your SD card as an external storage rather than using as an internal storage. & Why did you buy a cable? The charging cable can be used for transferring data.

Memory Upgrade Time

Nothing like having a .5 tb data drive on your 10+, 1 tb ones are still on the high side but starting to see good reasonably priced .5 tb ones lately.
Go for the V30 spec ones. Been using Lexar flash products for over 15 years, excellent products, never had one fail.
This one should work well in the 10+...

Best deal I've found:
https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...ds=epd:15737020019612347070,cdl:1,prmr:1,cs:1
Will see what's it like in a few days...
Update, got it today and slammed it in.
The 10+ recognized it and formatted in about 10 seconds.
Showing as 465 gb available memory.
Downloaded a 221 gb folder from internal memory in 96 minutes.
Appears stable and working normally... sweet.
Note: Samsung File Manager was glitching on me after the setup and file transfers. Clear app cache. Perfect.
Update. Zero issues other than normal need to clear file manager caches.
Poweramp had to reset its library from the former internal music folder to the new SD card one.
Poweramp is a champ, took less than 2 minutes and works like nothing ever was changed
Runs great. Easiest SD card install ever.
Didn't need to do a low level format to get Android to "see" it.
Remember to never touch any of the SD card contacts when handling and installing. If there's a lot of ESD (static electricity) ie low humidity, carpet, wool sweater etc... touch an earth ground before handling the card. Repeat if you need to get up during the installation. Using a ESD ground strap and mat is best if you have it. If you can feel, hear or see a static charge it's already enough to destroy an SD card!
Handle like a RAM stick! These cards do have some built in ESD protection on their inputs but it's has a limited voltage and number of ESD events that it can absorb. One ESD event can destroy it or cause a failure days, weeks even years later.
ESD is the #1 cause of premature failures.
Yeah if you ever see a phone center not using ESD protocols (most don't) be mad... and do it right, do it yourself!
Internal speed test of card. The N10+ does not disappoint...
Write from SD card to internal memory
Roughly [email protected] or 79.15MB/s
Next upgrade is the 1tb V30 Sandisk Extreme, lol down to my last 100gb
Got the 1tb V30 upgrade today from B&H Photo for a total of $189, free 2 day Fed Ex. Extremely well packaged, overkill. Order Friday afternoon. B&H Photo does not disappoint.
Since I have .5tb internal memory on this Note that's largely unused I will copy what's on the .5tb card to internal memory. Then slam in the new card and load it from that copy.
Reduces the possibility of errors and it writes relatively fast like this; SD card to/from internal.
Not having a SD card to use as a data drive is unthinkable to me at this point. All my computers are dual drives. The new Samsung flagships suck Apple bad.
Configured like this, the Beast rocks...
Online. The N10+ recognized the new card at boot up. I formatted anyway. No detected glitches so far, replaced a few shortcuts, rescaned Poweramps new library copy and once again fully operational. The data transfers appear to have gone perfectly.
Internal copy times:
Old .5tb card (read speed)
SD card > internal memory [email protected]
New 1tb card (write speed)
Internal memory>SD card [email protected]
Both cards are V30 Sandisk Extremes.
A 1.5tb dual drive N10+, hell yeah!
Power used for both transfers:
Yes, well... this was disturbing. Had a error on a Poweramp playlist with one song. Said it wasn't in the library on its SD card database, it was.
Restored it to the playlist, no other errors noted.
So I looked around storage a bit and unmounted the card. On remounting got the card is corrupted error message. So I rebooted, clear the system cache and the card is functional again. wtf? Android Bench is the prime suspect, probably not SD Maid however will review all apps that have access.
Or was it just the fact I failed to reboot before remounting the card? spooky.
Whatever, it never hurts to reboot or clear the system cache when having any kind of issues.
Meh, time to make another backup... because you never know. Androids very rarely crash and burn but it can happen at anytime.
